Jason Maynard - September 02, 1967 - December 21, 2021

Departed: 12/21/2021 (Warwick)
Obituary Preview: Jason Maynard, 54, passed away on Tuesday December 21, 2021 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence after an almost 3 year battle with cancer.
Born in Warwick he was the son of the late Gilmore William and Gisela Margaret ( Hartmann ) Maynard.
Jason leaves behind his sister Heidi, niece Monica, best friends – his “brothers” Juan and Charlie, aunts (Chy, Angie, Vondell), uncles(Dennis, Alan, Stephen), cousins, and many friends.
Though his passing was quick, and the years-long battle far from painless, Jason grinned and bared through it all.
Jason was a passionate man who would talk your ear off on his focus of the week, be it sports (soccer - Formula1 - NASCAR - football), movies, comics, video games, history, or cars. Anything was fair game whether you knew about the topic or not. He was an avid collector and model maker, who excelled in bringing out the fine details of his models and proudly displayed his collection at home.
Jason liked routine and before heading to work at Rhode Island Hospital, where he worked in Central Transport for over 30 years, he could be found in one of his many haunts, where he was likely to befriend everyone who worked there. And as he was an extremely loyal friend, once he chose you, you were stuck with him like glue. Although his dream of seeing a Formula1 race in person never materialized, Jason enjoyed many NASCAR weekends with his friends and generally lived life vibrantly and without regrets.

Obituary Preview: David A. Bush, 72, of Lakeland, Florida and previously of Foster, Rhode Island, passed away in the caring arms of his wife Karen on November 25, 2021.
He was the beloved husband of Karen J. (Williams) Bush and the father of Kevin M. Bush who passed in 1994. He was the son of the late Walter J. and Mary Edith (Garner) Bush and the son-in-law of Doris M. (Powers) Williams and the late Charles K. Williams. He is survived by his brother Bernard T. Bush and his wife Lucille and his brother-in-law Gregory C. Williams, his wife Deena and their son Connor.
Born in Providence, David was a graduate of Cranston East High School. After high school, he joined the U.S. Army attaining the rank of Sergeant and served in South Korea. After his military service, David graduated magna cum laude from Rhode Island College. He made his career in the steel fabrication industry working at the former RI Tool Company and then as general manager at both St. Pierre Manufacturing in Worcester, MA and at Commercial Metals Corporation, Orlando, FL.
Family, friends and neighbors will remember David for his subtlety mischievous sense of humor, his willingness to take on a good political debate, his stain glass creations and for his gardening skills to name just a few but most notably, they will never forget his remarkable innate resourcefulness at solving problems that came to his door. His home workshops in Foster and Lakeland were magical places where David used his ingenuity to fix and repair things be it mechanical, furniture and more for anyone who asked for his help. These memories will pale however in comparison to his kind and giving nature to help people he did not know, whether it was a stranger stranded on the road with car problems or a family in need at his church. Those times, done without expecting anything in return, are a testament to the stature of the man David was. David and Karen met in 1976 and were married for 45 years. Throughout the years together, it was their faith in God and their love for each other that carried them through life’s unexpected moments, experiences that would challenge even the strongest among us. Karen once said, “Life’s challenges can tear a couple apart or can bring them closer together. In our case, every challenge we faced, brought us closer and made our love stronger.”
David, who will be reunited with his son Kevin in heaven, lived his life with kindness and love as his compass. He was a source of inspiration to all who knew him but especially to his wife Karen. He will be missed by family and friends and by his faithful companion, their yellow lab Maggie.
Karen wishes to acknowledge everyone in their circle of life who provided support, caring and help in ways too many to name in this short space. She invites you to a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at 11:00 am in St. Peter's Church, 350 Fair Street, Warwick followed by burial with full military honors in the RI Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Exeter, RI.
To honor David, please consider a gift in his memory to Tunnel to Towers, a charity assisting first responders and veterans. Tunnel to Towers, 2361 Hylan Blvd. Staten Island, NY 10306 or online at t2t.org or to the charity of your choice.

Ray continued to coach several of these players when in 1998 he took over as head basketball coach for Fr. Doyle School in Coventry, RI where he coached in several capacities until 2007. A tenacious advocate, he oversaw one of the largest grassroots campaigns in Rhode Island history leading to the passage of historic legislation to ensure that all families are recognized, valued, and respected equally under the law.
In 2013 Ray joined Checkmate Consulting Group as a partner where he worked alongside elected officials, labor unions, community leaders, and advocacy groups to craft and advance policies that helped promote equity and make life better for working people. He was most proud of his work advocating for the frontline nurses and health professionals represented by the United Nurses and Allied Professionals (UNAP). In addition to the UNAP, Ray worked with clients like the National Education Association Rhode Island, RI Housing, New Venture Fund, the Rhode Island Coalition of Labor Union Women, and many more.
Ray was a longtime supporter of Liverpool F.C. and passionate supporter of the New England Revolution for nearly two decades. He was deeply involved with the New England soccer community, taking up a leadership role in the Rebellion Supporter Group and creating and hosting the Revs podcast, Six States One Podcast. Ray always made it a point to make newcomers to the supporters’ lot and The Fort feel welcomed and accepted.
Everything Ray did in his personal and professional life was focused on giving voice to the voiceless and making people’s lives better. His love for the community and those around him knew no bounds. Ray truly left Rhode Island a better place than he found it.
