Obituary Preview: Mr. Lawrence J. Cohen, 74 years old of Savannah, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, surrounded by his family at home.
He was educated in the New York public school system. He received Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Baptist House of Prayer in New York City when he was eleven years old. Mr. Cohen enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing card with his family and friends. He was an active member of his Masonic Lodge while living in Schenectady achieving the level of Master Mason.
After retiring from General Electric, he first moved to Pineland, South Carolina in 2010 and then Savannah, Georgia in 2016. He was a faithful member of Good Hope Baptist Church in Pineland, South Carolina.
Mr. Cohen was an outgoing kind of person, whenever he was around, there was always someone laughing or crying from laughing, he had a very kindred spirit.

Mr. Freddie as a graduate of Jasper County School back in 1954, he was a member of Mount Zion AME Church in Garnett, South Carolina, where he served as a Leader, the Steward Board, Trustee Board, and many other auxiliaries. Mr. Freddie was affectionally called, “PEW” by all his family and friends.
After Mr. Freddie retirement from South Carolina Department of Transportation, he just could not keep still, he got a job at the Ridgeland Senior Citizen Center. He also volunteered his spare time being a traffic controller for Jasper County School.
Mr. Freddie had loved his family very much and they will forever cherish his memories; Four children; Fredrick (Jennice) Wright, Jr., Virginia Robinson, Freddie (Ikieya) Housey and Calvin Gadson, Thirteen Grandchildren, Three Great Grandchildren, One Uncle; John (Nellie) Cunningham, One Aunt; Dorthory  Cunningham, along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Ms. Deborah graduated from high school and furthered her education at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee, where she obtained a degree in Early Childhood. She was an active member at Bellville Trinity Church in Bellville, Georgia, where she served on the board.
She retired from the State of Georgia after she dedicated 25 years of her life where she served as a Juvenile Correctional Officer and a House Parent of a Juvenile Group Home in Savannah, Georgia.
At an early age Ms. Deborah devoted her life to God and raised her daughter in the church as well. Ms. Deborah was an active member of the community and church, wherever she was needed she offered her help. She was a compassionate and dedicated caregiver. She enjoyed singing on the choir at church and singing for her family and friends, her daughter describes her voice as angelic. She also enjoyed arts and craft projects that she shared and she mad arrangements for special events at church.
Ms. Deborah leaves her memories to her loving family; her loving daughter; Adrianne (Jason) Brown of Bluffton, SC, Two sisters; Anne (John) Steiver of Lizella, GA, and Miriam (Herb) McMillian of Old Hickory, TN, One brother; David Bohler of Ocilla, GA.
