He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Betty Krzan (Nee Jazyk); parents: Dennis and Suzanne Krzan as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Friends are invited to join the family for a time of memorial visitation on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 7132 Arizona Avenue, Hammond IN, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. celebrated by Father Charles Mosley.
John was a lifelong resident of the region where he was a graduate of Morton High School Class of 1985 (Kube). He worked at union tank for 20 years and 15 years at CSX. John liked to relax and watch football and college basketball. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing and loved spending time with his animals.

Franciska “Frances” Rose Dewitt, 99, passed on April 11, 2022 after a very good life. She was born to Ferdinand Horvath and Lidvina Horvath in Michlitz, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany on March 05, 1923.
She married Michael John DeWitt in 1951 and together raised three sons [Michael, Robert [Deceased] & John in Hammond, IN.  She is also survived by six grandchildren and 1one great-grand-daughter.
Frances graduated from Visitation High School in Chicago in 1941 and received a nursing degree from the Loyola University of Chicago in 1943.  Frances retired from St. Margaret’s Hospital in Hammond, after working for over 20 years as a registered nurse.  She chose Florence, SC to retire & was active in the St. Anthony Catholic community where she was passionate about affecting the most positive change in people. She will be missed. A Mass of Christian Burial directed by Cain Calcutt Funeral Home will be said at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at St. Anthony Catholic Church.  Burial will take place in the St. John Cemetery in Hammond Indiana, directed by Bocken Funeral Home, at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 23, 2022.  A Wake Service will be held at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at Cain Calcutt Funeral Home with visitation to follow until 8:00 PM

Preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Wanda June Pitts; parents: John K. Pitts and Pearlie Pitts Ratliff; one brother, Bill J. Pitts; and son-in-law, Robert L. “Bob” Robbins.

Eula was born and raised in Floyd County, Kentucky and moved to Hammond in 1951. He retired from LTV Steel as a welder/iron worker in 1995.
Eula accepted Jesus as his savior in 1956 while attending First Southern Baptist Church and taught Sunday school while serving as a deacon. When he moved to South Hammond, he continued to serve the Lord at Woodmar Baptist Church as a deacon, in the bus ministry and in other capacities.
He received a diploma from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago in Christian Education and faithfully attended Sunday School and Worship services.

Lorraine was a longtime resident of the region where she graduated from Washington High School in East Chicago. She worked as a secretary at Farm Bureau Milling Company after her husband Paul died. She was a great cook and loved to bake. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling and playing golf. A special thanks to Transitions Hospice for their care.

Joseph is a longtime resident of the region living here since 1962. He was born in Lucenec, Czechoslavak Republic. He immigrated to Hammond and became a citizen of the United States on February 14, 1963. Joseph then served our country in the Army during the Korean War. Joseph was a faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Hessville. He retired from Inland Steel after working for 34 years, until 1985. In his free time, he loved bowling, tennis, ping-pong or as he called it table tennis, walking around Dowling Park and fishing. In the early 60’s he was a regional finalist for the Olympics (soccer) but due to an injury he was unable to fulfill that dream.

John Collins Ault  age 83 of Crown Point entered the presence of his Savior on Wednesday, January 19, 2022. John was born October 15, 1938 in Olney, Illinois.
He grew up in Yale, Illinois, graduating from Newton High School in 1956. After high school he attended Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois prior to graduating from Indiana College of Mortuary Science in Indianapolis in 1959.
While in mortuary college he began working for Harry W. Moore at Arlington Chapel and continued there until 1960, when he moved to Hammond, Indiana to work for George L. Bocken at Bocken Funeral Home. After working for Mr. Bocken for only two weeks, John was drafted into the U.S. Army where he spent two years in Germany working in the Mortuary Science Division. After his service was completed, he returned to his job at Bocken Funeral Home.
John married Linda Freeland August 30, 1969. They celebrated their 52nd anniversary this past August. In 1972, John formed a partnership with George Bocken and moved into the apartment above the funeral home. In 1987 John became the sole owner and operator of the Bocken Funeral Home. John worked tirelessly at the funeral home until his stroke in 2004.
In 2006, John formed a partnership with Jose Corona; an employee and fellow funeral director.
John has been a member of First Baptist Church of Hammond, Indiana since 1963 where he served as a deacon for over forty years.  John was a humble servant in both his church and his community. He was known for his ability to bring comfort and care to bereaved loved ones and their families during a time when they needed it most.
John is survived by his wife Linda of Crown Point, Indiana; two daughters: Melinda (Mark) Ault-Higginbotham of Greenville, SC., Ashley (Jason) Richards of Dyer, Indiana; five grandchildren: Rowan Higginbotham, Zackary, Reece, Brady and Rylee Richards;  Aunt: Madelyn (late J.O.) Storkman of Robinson, Illinois; Niece: Kathy (late Harold) Dekay; nephews: Steven (Marla) Hester, Mark (Debbie) Hester. Preceded in death by his parents: Coy and Evelyn Ault; sister and brother in law; Beverly and Gerald Hester. Friends are invited to meet with the family for visitation on Monday, January 24, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home 7042 Kennedy Ave. Hammond, IN. Tammy was a lifelong resident of Lake Station and had attended Zion Holiness Church for many of years; she formerly attended PSL (Pentecostals of South Lake Church). She loved crafts; sewing, crocheting, drawing and painting were some of her favorites. She loved her morning coffee, peacocks and singing but most of all her son Trebor. Tammy was a faithful woman of prayer and loved by many, she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her sons: Jim (Donna) and Jeff (Bonnie); grandchildren: Michelle (Nick) Pallotti, Jason (Stefanie) Towne and several great-grandchildren and great, great grandchildren and her sister-in-law, Bonnie Cheek along with many family members.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Victor Towne, her parents, James and Mossie Cheek; sisters: Doxie Cechovic, Lucy Cheek; three brothers: Emil Cheek, Lonnie (Nancy) Cheek and Bonnie (Laverne) Cheek; two grandchildren, Jeremy Towne and Joshua Towne.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2022.  Friends are invited to meet with the family for a time of visitation at 9:30 a.m. and a celebration service will be held at 11:30 a.m. directly at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond, Indiana.   Her nephew, Pastor Chris Zart will be officiating along with Pastor Orlando Soler from her home Church, Life Point Church (formerly Hessville Assembly of God).  Burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, Indiana.
Cordie was born September 3rd 1927 in London Kentucky.  She moved to the Calumet Area more than 70 years ago. She retired from LTV where she was a tin mill inspector for several years.  She was a long standing member of Hessville Assembly of God/Life Point Church.  She served as the Sunday School treasurer for many years. She was a devoted, loving mother and grandmother and a care taker of many family members.  Cordie was a great example of what a Christian woman should be. She was a devoted fan – BIG TIME - of the Chicago Cubs and Kentucky Wildcats. She will certainly be missed by all.

She taught Sunday School Class for the 2- & 3-year old’s and 4-year old’s to 2nd grade for at least 20 years.  Jean was also a song leader, choir director at church and she and Wilmer volunteered at Chicagoland Christian Village now  known as Crown Point Christian Village for many years. Jean will be remembered for her wonderful smile, warm hugs and her faithfulness as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
