Marvin "MUGS" Albert Huber - August 02, 1933 - October 11, 2021

Departed: 10/11/2021 (Vernal)
Obituary Preview: Click the Link below to access the Live Streaming of the Funeral Service. https://my.gather.app/remember/marvin-mugs-huber (If the livestream is not playing, we will still be recording the services and we will upload the service as soon as we can. Sorry for any inconvenience)
Marvin Albert Huber left this life to rejoin Genny and Larry on Monday morning, October 11, 2021, at his home on the farm in Lapoint, Utah. He was born in a log cabin, on that same farm, on August 2, 1933. Mugs was raised working the farm and learning the work ethic that would remain with him throughout his life.
Mugs graduated from Alterra High School. He entered the military and became a paratrooper, completing his military service with an honorable discharge just at the end of the Korean War.
He returned to the farm, and was here when his father passed, promising his father that he would remain on the farm and work it and support his mother, Irva, a promise he kept.
By this time, his sister Margaret was attending the BYU Nursing Program. One holiday weekend, Margaret brought home a friend who was also studying Nursing, Genevieve Lollar. Margaret left on a date of her own, leaving Genny with Mugs and his mom, and Irva told Mugs, “take her to the movies.” And the rest, as they say, is history.
They were married under the tree in the front yard on June 6, 1959. Their marriage was blessed with nine children: six boys and three girls. The children were kept busy with farm chores: haying, sheep and lambs, chickens, cows and calves, an occasional pig, but never goats. He also added a donkey or two, and that llama, but they were not some of his favorites. And then there were the farm dogs and cats, none of which he was particularly fond of, despite their usefulness. The children learned to work hard on the farm. As the years went on, and Genny’s health began to fail, Mugs stepped up and began caring for her, while still covering all the needs of the farm. He showed selfless service and patience, but he loved having the grandchildren come and help him with her.  The family began the practice of having Grandma and Grandpa over to dinner, one night a week. At one point, we offered to Grandpa, “we’ll bring dinner TO you.” and he replied, “no, it’s good to get out and see people, and not be stuck at home all day.”
Mugs appreciated his temple blessings and loved the scriptures. He served as a member of the High Priest’s Group. He was full of words of wisdom like: It doesn’t take much to amuse an idiot; Don’t do something you’d be ashamed to come home and tell your mother about; You’re just a pup, and If you’re in jail, don’t call home.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Genny; his son, Larry B; and his great-grandson, Neil; his parents, Elmer and Irva; his brothers, Merlin and Doyle; and his sisters, Shirley and Margaret. He leaves behind his children:  Brent (Linda) Huber, Lapoint, Utah; Wayne (Lynnette) Huber, Amarillo, Texas; Allen (Judy) Huber, Lapoint, Utah; Alison Hatch, Colorado Springs, Colorado; Jennifer (Nick) Snyder, Lapoint, Utah; Brian (Kristin) Huber, Lapoint, Utah; Jeanette (Jerry) Young, Lapoint, Utah; and Dirk (Mary Jane) Huber, Vernal, Utah. Many Grandchildren And Great Grandchildren And Sister in law Karen Huber Vernal, Utah
The family is grateful for every act of kindness that has been extended to us over the last days and weeks.

Wayne L Pierson - April 30, 1956 - October 05, 2021

Departed: 10/05/2021 (Vernal)
Obituary Preview: Wayne L Pierson passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at his home after a courageous battle of Cancer.
When he said “That is it”, that was it!  Wayne is off to that great fishing hole in the sky.
Margaret’s Nature Boy was a lover of all things mother nature shared with us; plants, animals, the ocean and the mountains alike.
Wayne left us on October 5th after fearlessly facing cancer head on.  He had an amazing attitude to the end.
Larry and June Pierson welcomed their son in April of 1956.  He has two sisters which he adored, Judy (Marion) Kupitz and Sandie (Doug) Hemingway.  In 1986 Margaret, Coy and Wayne began their adventure together.  Through the 35 years they shared a life filled with love as they played, worked and travelled building new friendships everywhere they went.
Being a nature lover, they enjoyed a variety of outdoor activities like camping, boating, scuba diving and even sky diving.  Wayne always made a point to surrounded himself with plants and natures creatures; bees, fish, chickens, pheasants, dogs and even cats.
As a young man Wayne worked for the Forest Service caring for the precious mountains he loved and helping to fight the fires that threatened to destroy them.  Later moving to Gearhart Industries Wireline Division.  When his friends moved on to strike out on their own, Wayne became a part of the team at Cutter’s Wireline where he had an amazing career as a Wireline Engineer.  He lived and worked on the concept that “we might get you the first job, but you have to go in and sell yourself to get the next one.”   After 33 successful years Wayne retired from the oilfield.  To stay connected with life Wayne took on a new position selling guns with Sportsman’s Warehouse where he was able to get paid doing what he enjoyed most, BS-ing and socializing.  Here he was always making new friends and able to stay in touch with old ones.
Wayne shared a full life filled with love and laughter as he enjoyed time with his son Coy, the grandsons; Aeson, Oliver and Ivan, Lil’ B (the dog), the birds and the bees, riding the Harley, entertaining friends and kicking back with a smooth drink and a good cigar.
We will always remember the love, sense of humor and warm heart as he lives on in all of us. Wayne REALLY LIVED!
There will be a celebration of life,  as he loved to entertain, the date is pending at this time but will be posted when information is available.

Robert Lee Chivers - July 27, 1937 - October 03, 2021

Departed: 10/03/2021 (Vernal)
Obituary Preview: Bob was born July 27, 1937 in Roosevelt, Utah to Cecil and Angela Zager Chivers. He was raised up on the family ranch his grandfather homesteaded in the early 1900s. Bob attended local schools, graduated from Union High in 1955 then went to Utah State to study engineering. After 2 years Bob went to trade school in Chicago to study caterpillar and international heavy equipment maintenance and operation. This started Bob off into his future career and occupation, taking him all over the Western States. He spent the most part of 10 years in California working on major earthen projects; five major dams, the California Aqueduct, San Luis Canal and supporting projects, Interstate 80 and Interstate 5, along with Bay Area Rapid Transit. Mixed in at that time were many other earth moving jobs, subdivisions, shopping centers, streets, more canals and interstates. Any place dirt was moved, Bob was there.
In 1964, Bob married Joyce A. Fowers from Orem, Utah. They had one son, Lee, and later divorced.
In 1968, Bob moved to Tucson and later made it his home. He met the love of his life there, Carol Koch from La Cross, Wisconsin. Bob and Carol were married in 1971. The two were a pair, always working and doing things together. They both had the same likes and interests.
Over the years he was always involved with animals and ranching, which he shared with his parents until they retired and he acquired their interests. After he and Carol were married they bought a horse riding and boarding stable, what a zoo, until after they retired.
Bob raised everything from rabbits to emus and ostrich, sheep, goats, cows, horses, and even tilapia fish.
Bob and Carol kept working, Carol at the University of Arizona and Bob in construction. In 1980 Bob started his heavy equipment rental business which he managed and ran until they retired in 1995. They were both able to retire early and had over 15 years of great retirement time. Traveling with their fifth wheel they saw many great things, from visiting Carol’s two children and family in Florida, relatives in Wisconsin, friends and relatives from Florida to Seattle, all points in between, by way of Canada, Northern States and Alaska. Many said they traveled the “Chuckline”. Their travels were filled with wonderful visits, good friends and great food.
Along the way they managed to spend most of the summers at their ranch in Utah, working the garden and orchard, harvesting, canning and maintaining the old farm. They both thoroughly enjoyed it.
Sadly, Carol battled cancer for three years and on September 4, 2011, she lost the fight and went to live with her Father in Heaven, she got a better deal.
Bob managed to go to Utah every summer and do some traveling, still maintaining their property and home in Tucson most of the year.
Bob leaves behind his son, Lee (Jeri) Misdom, Kaci and Matt. Two step children; Rita (David) Hellegers, Samuel and Hannah David (Marina) Stone, Jonathan, Sonja and Marc Allen, nephews and many friends and extended relatives. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol, his parents and brother Kenny.

Naon Hemstreet - June 05, 1940 - September 03, 2021

Departed: 09/03/2021 (Vernal)
Obituary Preview: Click the link below to access the Live streaming. https://my.gather.app/remember/naon-murray-hemstreet
Naon (Murray) Hemstreet passed away September 3, 2021 in Granbury, Texas. She was born to Paul and Ada Murray on June 5, 1940 in Jensen, Utah. She married Alan Hemstreet on January 8, 1988.
Naon was a friend, she was a mother and a sister, and everything a grandma should be. She was feisty and flirty, sharp and opinionated. She was strong willed and thoughtful. She loved unconditionally and out loud. She taught me what family meant and how to make a place a home.
She was fun and sarcastic. She danced to Elvis no matter who was around and wore her purple spiky hair with pride. She never forgot a single birthday or anniversary, and anyone who picked up the phone to her singing “happy birthday” can attest to just how special she made you feel. Her energy was magnetic. She crocheted while watching WWE and didn’t care who knew about her crush on John Cena.
She was confident and inspiring. She was beautifully and unapologetically herself.
Her life was dedicated to creating and being the anchor to her family, and when we were all in the room together, she’d sit back, smile and say “I did this.” And damn right she did.
This spunky woman provided comfort for even the most embarrassing things, stability, and unwavering acceptance to me my entire life without asking for a single thing in return. Grandma’s house was where we all went to let go, to laugh and gossip, to gain clarity from life’s confusion and unfairness. She was a sanctuary. A gentle squeeze from her hand brought me more peace than she’d ever know, but secretly, I think she knew.
She was my biggest fan, I was hers.
The bond we had is sacred and special and ours. Though she’s moved on, I am truly lucky to not be wishing for lost time. We had time, and a lot of it. She was consistently present in my life and one of my biggest support systems. The warmth and love that she showed me daily provided me with the strength to become who I am today, and for that, I’m eternally grateful.
Grandma, I know you’re somewhere dancing and laughing and all the weight of the world has been lifted off of your shoulders. You’re free and you deserve to be. You lived a full, beautiful life and created a family bond that’s irreplaceable. I love you forever, my crazy lady.
See you soon. “Everything dies, baby, that’s a fact, but maybe everything that dies someday comes back.” - Written by Raegan Clay, Naon’s grand-daughter She is survived by her children: Rex (Jean) Anderson Stephenville, TX, Ada Marie Winn (Marlin Mott) Vernal, UT, Ernie Cruz, Jr. (Trish) Vernal, UT, Kathy Cruz-Firkins (Emmett) Mesa, AZ, Kenny (Amanda) Clay Granbury, TX, Dallas (Becky) Clay Weatherford, TX, 23 Grandchildren, 28 Great- Grandchildren, 4 Great- Great Grandchildren, Parents: Paul and Ada Murray, Grand Parents: Andrew Richard and Adelia (Yeager) Murray, Sanford Acil and Elviria Thomina (Rasmussen) Green Siblings: Geneva Massey, Nona Farr, Floyd Murray, Ernest Murray, Rhea Brimhall, Lynn Murray, Janet Fitts, Carol McClellan, Lorna Oaks
Proceeded in Death by: her husband Alan Hemstreet, parents Paul and Ada Murray, brothers Floyd, Ernest and Lynn Murray, and sister Nona Farr. Great grand-daughters Kodi Williams and Kenslee Oaks.

In 1960 the couple moved to Vernal, Utah, where he obtained a teaching position at Vernal Middle school teaching science. He also continued his career with the US Forest Service by transferring from the Dixie National Forest to the Ashley National Forest.  Clark and Ora Fay started their family in 1965 with the birth of their first child, daughter Ora Marjean Oviatt. They then had their son, Philip Clark Oviatt, in 1969; daughter, Mary Joelle (Oviatt) List, in 1970; and daughter, Merietta Oviatt, in 1976.
Mr. Oviatt, as most people remember him by, was a favorite science teacher for so many in Vernal. He taught multiple generations of students who remember his kind and gentle teaching style. He was awarded the national science teacher of the year in 1969 after his U.S.A.F. Gemini Spaceship capsule model project, where students imitated the environment that astronauts faced during the Gemini space missions.  During his tenure with the Uintah School District he initiated and developed the Uintah Basin Science Fair to national acclaim. He retired from the Uintah School District in 1999 after 39 years of service to the youth of the community. Although he retired from the school district, he continued his service for the US Forest Service for another nine years, retiring in 2008 after 53 years of service.  His long-term service with his beloved Forest Service was forever memorialized by the Forest Service organization with the dedication of, “Clark’s Park,” which is located on Taylor Mountain.
Clark was a proud dad and grandpa. He loved to sneak caramels and cookies to his young grandchildren and was always ready to brag about the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren. He had a soft spot for his cats and dogs and spoiled them.  He constantly gave part of his dinner to his dogs and always gave way too many treats to his cats and dogs every chance he had.
Clark is survived by his wife, Ora Fay (Wardle); children Ora Marjean Oviatt of Denver; Philip C. Oviatt (Miken) of Bakersfield, CA; Mary Joelle List (Mark) of Norman, OK; Merietta Oviatt (Justin Shearer) of Vernal; and 12 grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Della Oviatt, and his sister, Leola Emmaline Oviatt.
Services will be held at the Maeser Stake Center of The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on Saturday, September 4th, at 2:00PM. Viewings will be held on Friday, September 3rd at Blackburn Vernal Mortuary from 6 to 8 pm and Saturday from 12:45-1:45pm at the church prior to the funeral services.  Burial will be in the Rock Point Cemetery under the direction of the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
