Survived by; Wife, Gail (Lucas) Critchelow, Daughter Amanda (Matt) Fitzgerald, Daughter Callie Critchelow, Daughter in law Melanie Critchelow, Granddaughters Macy Critchelow, Jazlynn Howard, Ruthie Fitzgerald, Mother Doris Jean Critchelow, Siblings Terry (Doug) Moorman, Kevin (Javonda) Critchelow, Annette (David) Lucas, Theresa (Tommy) Weatherholt, Sandy (Lamar) Carter, Brenda (Jeff) Bradshaw, Raymond (Missy) Critchelow, Tony Critchelow, Patrick (Kari) Critchelow. He was a devout member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, retired after 30 years of service with KY State Police, and was an Ohio Co. Deputy working as the Resource Officer for Ohio Co. Schools.
Jerry was a man of faith, a devoted husband and provider. He has been described as many things: avid hunter, athlete, witty, knife-tosser, animal lover, prankster, protector, spray-foamer, teacher, taxidermist, leader, fixer-upper, scuba diver, gardener, powered parachuter, brutally considerate, hibachi chef, hero, friend, explorer, marksman, listener, consoler, singer, and story teller.
He never met a stranger, never said no to someone in need, and was a breath of fresh air. He loved his family, his law enforcement families, his students, and all the staff at Ohio Co. High School. He was born to serve and make people feel loved. As Jerry would say, “I occur.”
Services will be 2PM Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Ohio County High School with Father Julio Barrera officiating.  Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam.  Visitation will be from 5-9PM Friday April  22, 2022 and from 9AM-1PM Saturday at the Ohio County High School(1400 S. Main Street, Hartford, KY. He grew up with his five siblings, Ernie Moore, Becky Crowe, Susan Matthews and Sally Reynolds. George graduated from Ohio County High School and joined the Air Force shorty after graduating. He became a member of Local 633 Pipefitters Union and was employed with them 32 years. He attended Rosine Missionary Baptist Church. He was a proud Husband to his wife Shelia Moore of 27 years. Together they had 5 children, Tiffany Whittaker (Jason Haynes), Perry & Alexa Moore, Roscoe Moore, Aaron & Chasity Whittaker and Jacob & Alma Moore. Also he was a Proud Papaw of 10 Grandchildren. Michael & Slayten Perkins, Keileigh Raymond, Kynnadi Whittaker, Riley & Reese Raymond, Mason Evans, Dawson Oliver, Carson Whittaker, Amelia Moore, & one on the way. George was was a God fearing man that was always teaching the word of God. In his free time he enjoyed spending time with his family, riding his motorcycle and fishing. George will be forever missed by his loved ones. The funeral service will be held at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on April 22 @ 1pm. Visitation that morning will be held from 10am-1pm There will also be visitation at the same location 4pm-8pm on Thursday, April 21st. His family will be present to welcome loved ones.

Bray, Sr., 87, of Beaver Dam died Thursday, April 7, 2022 at Ohio County Hospital.  Donald was born in Ohio County to the late Frank and Anna Mae Moore Bray.  He was a member of UMWA having worked at Ken Underground Mine and Martwick Underground Mine.  He was also a member of McHenry Masonic Lodge #400 F & AM.
Whether you knew Donald Bray Sr. for his artwork or his strawberries, he never met a stranger.  Known for his life size recreation of Leonardo Da Vinci’s last supper that captures all passer bys on Rochester Road.  He created artwork since the age of 14 when he picked up his paint brush for the first time.  Also known for his recreation of Michelangelo’s Creation of man.  Which adorned the ceiling of a massive building behind his home.  One of Mr. Bray’s favorite things to do was have visitors where he could show them his paintings and art exhibits.  He even had a life sized dinosaur made out of concrete.  You may have stopped as an inquisitor but always left as a friend.  Donald was preceded in death by his wife Beulah Crowe Bray.
Survivors include a son-Donald (Mary) Bray, Jr. of Beaver Dam; a daughter-Katrina Bray of Beaver Dam; 2 sisters-Winnie McCormick and Nina (Fred) McQuady both of Beaver Dam; 3 grandchildren-Matilda Patterson, Whitney Hunter and Heath Bullington; 4 great grandchildren-Parker Patterson, Paisley Patterson, Millie Hunter and Tucker Hunter. Obituary Preview: BEAVER DAM-Maggie Maden passed away Saturday March 5, 2022 at age 104, at Dogwood Estates in Beaver Dam.  She was born May 14, 1917 in Ohio County to the late Clarence and Lillie Stevens Pirtle.  She was preceded in death by all of her nine siblings, Josephine Ralph, Arthur Pirtle, Cleone Patton, Charles Pirtle, Ivan Pirtle, Lois Smith, Louise Sandefur, Jean Lewis and AC Pirtle and the father of her children Ray Thomas Maden and one son Bobby Ray Maden.
She is survived by three daughters, Nancy (Bobby) Luttrell of Hartford, Gaye (Bill) Thalmann of Hopkinsvillle and Marilyn (Wendell) Yeckering of Owensboro.  She had seven grandchildren, Todd Maden, William Thalmann, Darren Lutrell, Kathy Monroe, Blaine Luttrell, Wendy Cooper and Kara Allen; 14 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Maggie was an active member of Concord Baptist Church for many years, teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School and served in many ways in the WMU.
She was an active member of The Otha Daniel Homemaker’s Club and held many offices.  Maggie was president of the Ohio County Homemakers at one time and a 4H leader.
As a long standing member of the Ohio County Hospital Auxillary, she spent many hours volunteering.  She was an avid gardener and produced many hand made  beautiful quilts.  Her daughters and grandchildren were blessed with her sewing abilities as she made many attractive outfits, even several wedding gowns.
Enjoying traveling, she was able to visit all 50 states with friends and family.
She will be missed by her family.
The Maden Family wishes to thank (her extended family) Jimmy Hepner, Arrie Winfield and all the staff at Dogwood Estates.  They have taken excellent care of her through the last 13+ years.  We appreciated having Hospice of Ohio County assisting with her care at the end.

Trudy worked as a legal secretary for 32 years, Walmart for 10 years and also spent several years in banking at Kentucky Trust Bank.
She was devoted to her family and adored her two grandsons.  She enjoyed cooking especially making her wonderful homemade biscuits.  She loved to go shopping, working in her flowers and spending time with family.  She was always ready for the next trip or adventure that may come.
Aside from her parents, Trudy is preceded in death by one brother; Charles Addington and a half sister; Myrl Maddox.
Left to cherish her memory are her Husband; Ronald Stewart, one daughter; Karen (Dan) Goedde. Sisters; Mary Sorrels, Golda (Roland) Smith, Sharon (Robert) Sappenfield. One Half Sister; Glayds Burgess. Granchildren; Ethan Glenn and Jack Glenn and Several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 7th, 2022 at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam at 1pm with Bro. John Cashion and Bro. Glenn Armstrong officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, March 6th, 2022 from 3-7 at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home and from 9am until service time on Monday. Burial will be at Sunnyside Cemetery immediately following the service.

Neal was a graduate of Daviess County High School Media Center and the University of Kentucky where he received a B.S.CH.E.(chemical engineering) degree.  From 1962-1997(35) years Neal was a Major Project Manager for Monsanto Company and from 1998-2013(3 years) he was a Project Director-Independent Contractor, he represented Monsanto Company with EPC firms in the Houston area.  He was a member of Tau Beta Pi Fraternity.  He was a member of Chesterfield Christian Church in Chesterfield, MO.  Neal loved cruising and traveling all over the world, constructing detailed WWI and WWII model planes and was an avid reader.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sandra Bartlett Hendrick; his beloved dog Widget; and a niece Carla Hendrick Koch.

Earl was a member of the Gethsemane Bible Baptist Church in Corbin, KY .  He graduated from Centertown Grade School and worked at Tamerlane Industries for several years.  Earl loved everyone.
He was preceded in death by his father Jerry Lynn Minton and sister Susan Annette Minton Hawkins.
Survivors include his mother Sue Mellott Minton; brother John Minton(Gina); 3 nephews Nathan, Kevin and Andrew Woolen; 2 nieces Brianna Minton and Elizabeth (Keyley) Smith; 3 great nephews and 4 great nieces.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 23, 2022, at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, KY with Dr. Roger Taylor officiating.  Burial will follow in Centertown Cemetery in Centertown, KY.
Friends may visit with the family from 4-8 p.m. Monday and from 9:00 a.m. unti 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Carroll Keith Carter - April 23, 1942 - February 16, 2022

Obituary Preview: HARTFORD-Carroll Keith Carter, 79, passed away Tuesday February 16, 2022 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana, surrounded by his family.
Carroll was born April 23, 1942 in Centertown, KY to the late Oscar and Juanita Paris Carter.
Carroll attended Centertown High School.  In 1963 he joined the Navy.  He spent 6 years altogether, two years in Reserve.  During the four years he served on the USS Harlan R. Dickson, a destroyer, and the USS Grand Canyon, a destroyer tender.  He was a boiler room technician.  This led to hie serious health problems later in life.
Carroll was discharged in late 1967.  He had planned to go to California.  On Dec. 4, 1967 he met the love of his life Rebecca Sue Carter.  They were married on January 12, 1968.  They never left each other’s side in 54 years together.
Carroll was a member of Centertown Tabernacle, VFW Post 117, AMVETS, The Ohio County Veterans Honor Guard, The Mustang Club of America, The Crazy Horse Mustang Club of Owensboro and was a Kentucky Colonel.
Carroll was the owner of Carter Trucking, retiring after 40 years.
Carroll was a Mustang enthusiast.  Owning 11 Mustangs.  Carroll enjoyed taking his Mustangs to car shows, cruise-ins and driving in the parades in Ohio County. He was also a Ford mechanic.  One of his favorites was a 1969 Mustang GT Cobra Jet.  During two years of racing in the 1970’s he won 42 trophies.  At Windy Hollow, Beech Bend and Hardinsburg Raceways.  Another favorite was his 2008 P-51 Raush.  He met Jack Raush at Beech Bend a few years ago.  The car is signed by Jack Raush, Don Bowles and McClanahan.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death his sister Patricia Carter Rose of Marion, NC.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rebecca Sue (Carter) Carter.  A son Jason Carter, a daughter Donna Carter Warner a very special son in law Richard Warner, Jr.  Two step grandchildren, Brittani (Rich) Haney, R.W. Warner and one step great grandchild, Glora Haney.

James B. "Jim" Hurt - April 25, 1931 - February 03, 2022

Obituary Preview: James B. Hurt “Jim” passed away with his children by his side, on February 3rd, 2022 at IU-Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana, after a brief illness. Jim was born on April 25th, 1931 in Centertown, Kentucky, where he lived his life until as a young adult, and then traveled north to the Calumet Region to find work. He lived in Whiting, Indiana and later made his home in Hammond. He worked at Standard Oil for 10 years, followed by 33 years at Youngstown/LTV Steel, where he started as a Millwright and worked his way up to Area Supervisor and finally, a consultant to the mill for the firm McKelvey & Co.
At the age of 70, Jim retired and eventually made his way back to his old Kentucky home that he loved so much. There, he reconnected with a childhood friend and spent the next 19 years enjoying a life of love and leisure. In February 2021, he became a COVID widower and spent the last 8 months living with his oldest daughter and son-in-law in Muncie, Indiana.
Jim enjoyed tinkering in the garage and attending late model stock car races. He was a super fan of the University of Kentucky Wildcats basketball. He loved listening to, singing and playing bluegrass and country music and helped to impart the love of music onto his children and grandchildren. There wasn’t a western novel, TV show or movie he had not read or seen at least once. He could outeat anyone at breakfast and afterwards outwalk anyone around the block. He and his dog, Tucker became quite well-known in his Owensboro, KY neighborhood as they walked around the HealthPark every day for several years.
Jim understood the value of vacation time and never failed to plan a family camping trip each Summer. Jim was always generous with his time and energy. He enjoyed helping others whether at home, in his neighborhood, at his children’s school activities, his church, anywhere and everywhere he was needed. He volunteered at community-based organizations in Hammond and Owensboro, and never failed to make new friends. Children took to him like he was Santa and adults took to him like he was a wise, old sage full of some magical knowledge.
Jim had a solid faith and that kept him brave and strong until the end. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Hammond, Indiana for more than 30 years; Masonville Baptist Church in Utica, Kentucky for several years; and most recently became a member of Rising Hope Church in Muncie, Indiana.
Jim is survived by the mother of his children, Shirley K. Hurt, his daughters, Linda (Rod) Case and Mary McClelland and son, Barry (Anna) Hurt. His grandchildren Leesa and Zachary McClelland. His sister Maybeth Smith, and brothers William “Bill” Hurt and Thomas “Tom” Hurt. He is also survived by his stepchildren Christy (Steven) Schenk, Craig (Tamara) Goodall, and Stephen Goodall. Step-grandchildren Dustin Case, Steven (Megan) Manship, Craig David (Veronica) Goodall, Jared (Melissa) Goodall, Jamisyn (Troy) Rodimel, Billy Goodall, Aiyana Goodall, Zachary Goodall, Anna-Michelle (Nathan) Visak and Christina (Ricky) Castro. Step-Great-Grandchildren Isabell, Annabella, Nathan, Lukas, Milah and Gabriel. Many wonderful nieces, nephews and cousins who he loved very much.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Sue “Susie” Martin Goodall Hurt, his parents Marion B. Hurt and Maggie Fielden Hurt Schroeder, infant brother Eugene Hurt, his surrogate father and Great Uncle Roy Fielden, best friends Jimmy Maddox and Buddy Fielden, and brother-in-law Harold Smith.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held Saturday, February 12th at Bevil Brothers Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky. Visitation from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, followed by services at 1:00PM at   Bevil Bros. and to follow at the graveside at Centertown Cemetery in Centertown, Kentucky. Jim will always be known as an awesome dad, amazing grandpa “Pops”, a favorite uncle and great friend to all! Our loss is Heaven’s gain!
Donations may be made to Masonville Baptist Church Utica, Kentucky; Rising Hope Church Muncie, Indiana or Daviess County Animal Control  Owensboro, Kentucky in honor of Jim’s dog Tucker.
