Departed: 04/04/2024 (Wharton)
Obituary Preview: Elizabeth M. (Betty Czipo) Murray, 88 of Succasunna, passed into the gentle hands of our Lord on Thursday, April 4, after a brief illness surrounded by her family.
Betty was born and raised in Wharton where she lived for 74 years until moving to Succasunna. She graduated from Wharton High School in 1953 working at Picatinny Arsenal right out of high school. In 1961, she began working for Dr. Nicholas A. Bertha and later Dr. Edward Forbes in Wharton. For almost the entire 42 years, she was a one-person office handling every detail of an office environment. She loved to read, watch game shows, do word searches and thoroughly enjoyed the yearly March Madness of college basketball even filling out a bracket for this year’s tournament. She had a strong faith in God and the Blessed Mother, praying her rosary many times a day. Those same prayers brought her tremendous comfort especially in her recent difficult times.
Preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Katalin Czipo, her sister, Katherine (Joe) Daku, brothers Joseph (Kathleen) Czipo, Stephen (Eleanor) Czipo, John (Marion) Czipo and Francis Czipo. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Jeanette Czipo, and many nephews and nieces.
Hungarian by birth and Irish by marriage, along with her husband of 55 years Joseph J. (Mudder) Murray (2011), a St. Patrick’s Day never went by without much celebration. This was a tradition they joyfully passed along to their children which will continue on down the family line.
Above all else, family was most important to her. She treasured any time spent with them. She is survived by her son Joseph (Valerie) Murray and her daughter Sharon (Tom) Loeffler with whom she lived. If children were her rainbow, her grandchildren were truly her pot of gold. The pride and love she held for her grandchildren knew no bounds, loving them ‘to the moon and back’ she would say. They are Tyler Joseph Murray and Daniel (Kristine) Loeffler, David (Amy) Loeffler, Matthew Loeffler (who was literally her strength during her last days), and Katelin (Michael) Riggs. The lights of her senior life were, without question, her great grandchildren. Known to her great grands as GG, she found such joy, fascination, and contentment in each and every one - Elizabeth, Emily, and Evelyn Loeffler and Norah, Hailey and Jackson Riggs. In her own words about her passing, she wrote, “Please do not be sad. I was blessed with 2 wonderful children and their spouses who made me very happy along with wonderful grandchildren and great grandchildren. I pray that you all will go on with your lives and just remember the good times we had. Love and kisses…hopefully from Heaven.”
Visitation will be held 1-4pm on Sunday April 7, at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Wharton. And, per her request, private family services on Monday. Interment will follow at Locust Hill Cemetery in Dover.

He was dependable in his daily interactions with people he knew throughout the community which made him loved by so many.  Whenever someone needed help with a problem, big or small, Ivan was there to lend a helping hand.  Barry’s Luncheonette was where you would always find Ivan working and enjoying the Dover community which he loved so much.  Ivan was always grateful and indebted to all the people who helped at Barry’s including Mary, Norberto, Daniel, Facundo, Ana Laura, Teti, Pablo, Christian, Fernando and Nico.

Ivan was predeceased by his parents, Raul and Pola Ferrari, his brother Boris, who he loved unconditionally; his aunt Christina and her son/his cousin, Pablo, who enjoyed the casino as much as Ivan did; and, his favorite sister-in-law, Martha, who he loved squeezing her ears and making her laugh.
Thank you to all the heart-felt condolences and inspiring messages we have received … from the “such a nice and extraordinary friend” to “gracias por todo lo que le brindo al pueblo de Dover” to “so sad he was a Really Nice Guy” to “fue un Gran amigo” and all the way from Chile, “Fue un hombre muy jovial de gran corazón, un buen amigo y muy querido en el pueblo” … and so many more which have made this process a little bit easier.
He will be missed, but his presence in our hearts will keep us until we see him again, our beloved Ivan.

Phil enjoyed life to the fullest. You would never find her inactive. Her activity shined right through to her fingertips by being talented in many crafts.  Sewing, needlepoint, crocheting, and even the fine art of tatting are where her talents shined brightly.  She crafted many a blanket and sweater, sewed closets full of clothing, and crocheted intricate lace doilies that graced her dressers and furniture for all to see and admire.  She could even crochet while she watched TV and never missed a stitch.  Notably she happily and generously gave these treasures to others.
In her wallet she carried a verse called “My Family”.  One line from the verse says, “I know when I go home I’ll find the love of my family.”  She was a family person, Enjoying holidays and family gatherings especially those where she could dance and chat.  And when the table were cleaned and the dishes away, out came the cards, where she would ante up her bet and seldom walk away without a smile on her face and a pocket full of change.  She loved the babies and the grandchildren but never spoiled them, a perfect matriarch of the family.
Phil was a competitor, fun-loving competitor.  Whether it be on a bowling alley lane or at the bingo hall.  Phil loved to spend many a night with friends.  She perfected her bowling skills landing her a high average score on many of her teams as well as having the highest score of the season.  She went on National Bowling tours with her friends visiting many states throughout the nation. You can still hear her call out that favorite bingo hall call, “BINGO!”  She so filled her days and night with these activities.
She gave back too, as a girl scout leader, a bingo hall monitor for the church, and a VFW activity helper.  She delighted in travel but enjoyed it most when traveling with family.
She was also a lover of her yard and garden which housed roses, iris, a cherry tree, an apple tree, a lilac bush, pussy willows, daffodils, and lily of the valley just to name a few.  And her most prized garden that she planted were her surviving children:  Edward Killeen and his wife Ann of Weston, MA, Lenora Sadauskas of Hopatcong, NJ, Joan Colquhoun and her husband Mark of Mine Hill, NJ and Charles A. Killeen and his wife Erin of Southport, NC.  She is preceded by her late husband Charles and survived by 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
