Angel Alonso Adriano - September 21, 1940 - April 29, 2024

Departed: 04/29/2024 (Naperville)
Obituary Preview: Angel Adriano of Sugar Grove, IL passed away on April 29th, 2024. Widowed in 2020 by Lillian Adriano and survived by four children: Ann Bielman (Michael), Maria Elster (Larry), Andre Adriano, and Paul Adriano. Grand and Great Grandchildren: Josh Bielman (Mikey, Hudson), Amanda Bielman, Ryan Bielman (Samantha) (Sawyer), Samantha Elster, Patrick Elster, Sean Elster, Nicholas Adriano, Allie Adriano.
Angel Adriano married Lillian in 1963 and was widowed in 2020. He was strong and ambitious. Born and raised in the Philippines from a family of seven children, he had big dreams of someday coming to the United States. His convictions of the best life for his family outranked the immense challenge. In 1971, Angel came to the United States on his own. His family would follow in 6 months. With monies he had been saving for a long time, he felt confident it would be enough to find a job and an apartment in Chicago where he would start his best life with his family.
Angel spent months walking in a big city every day in a 3 piece suit searching for a position as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). During his search, he met an older gentleman in a suit walking in the opposite direction as him on the sidewalk. The gentleman asked, “Are you looking for a job?” to which Angel replied, “Yes I am”. The kind gentleman pointed to a very tall building and said, “See that tall building over there? I work there. Go there and tell them I told you to apply and give them this card.” The gentleman was referring to his business card. This kind gentleman held a very high position with the company. This was the start of the dream evolving.
After 6 months, Angel had enough money to bring his whole family to the United States. He sent money to Lillian for support. In November of 1971, the dream of being a family living in the United States was realized. For the first time ever, we all experienced our very first and memorable snowfall. We were in great amazement and joy. It was like being in a movie.
He was a very strong and proud man with many convictions. His strong will would exceed any level of difficulty. He was very intelligent and resourceful. His family always came first which is why he brought them to a country with the best opportunities.
He is a presence that left an indelible and irreplaceable mark on all of our lives. He is very loved and will be missed immensely.

Departed: 04/23/2024 (Naperville)
Obituary Preview: The perfect day for Audrey Dahlstrom was one spent dressed to the nines with a fluffy dog in one hand and a shopping bag in the other, talking about the latest hot topics with the people she loved.
That is how her family hopes she is spending her days now that she is at peace.
Audrey Jean Dahlstrom (nee Teslow) passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 in Oswego, Ill. A lifelong dog lover, she was undoubtedly greeted in Heaven by the four-legged friends that had been lucky enough to be hers over her 90 years of life.

She worked various jobs throughout her life from being a trucking dispatcher to her most recent job in the lunchroom at Naperville North High School where students and staff adored her.
Above all, Audrey loved her family. Her granddaughters’ childhoods were filled with weekends at grandma’s watching Homeward Bound and eating desserts out of fancy dishes. She continued to dote on her sons even in their 60s.

She is survived by her sons Glen (Christine) Dahlstrom and Kurt (Linda Van Etten) Dahlstrom; granddaughters Katie (Jordan Greenholt) Dahlstrom, Taylor (Dan) Rehor and Haley Dahlstrom; and four great-grandchildren, Baker Daniel, Graham Odell and Noah Palmer Rehor and Eleanor Greenholt.

Why are obituaries important?

Obituaries serve as a way to honor and celebrate the life of the deceased, while also providing important information to those who knew them. What information should be included in an obituary?

A typical obituary includes the person's full name, age, date of birth and death, place of residence, occupation, education, military service (if applicable), hobbies, interests, and surviving family members. It may also include information about the funeral or memorial service, charitable donations in lieu of flowers, and any other relevant details.

How long should an obituary be?
