Claudette Jennings - April 05, 1952 - July 06, 2023

Departed: 07/06/2023 (Austin)
Obituary Preview: Eva Claudette Carson Jennings passed away at home on July 6, 2023. She was born on April 5, 1952 in Buda, TX, to Claude Vernon Carson, Jr. and Aleta Dell Galbreath. Claudette is survived by her husband of 51 years, Jerry Jennings; daughters: Kysha Plante (Mike), Shelly McCurdy (Adam), and Mindy Jennings (Jake Lampe); and numerous cousins and her dearly loved nephews JR Fluker and Ed Fluker (Shawna). She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents: Claude Vernon and Eva John Carson, and Carl and Elizabeth Galbreath; sister Verna Dell Carson Meyers; aunts and uncles; and cousins. Claudette grew up in Creedmoor, where she made lifelong friends with the Schmidts, Wilhites, and Reyes families, just to name a few. She attended school at Del Valle ISD, graduating in 1970, and then attending Southwest Texas State University for a brief period. Claudette was an avid animal lover from a young age, participating in the 4-H club of Travis County and FFA at Del Valle ISD. She lived a full life: modeling locally as a young woman, teaching Sunday School and some Elementary School, participating in livestock shows and rodeos, and spending time with family and friends. In 1970, Claudette met Jerry, the man she would marry in 1972 and then spend the next 53 years of her life with. Claudette and Jerry shared many adventures together before having a family, and even that did not stop them from having fun together. Claudette was very active in school functions for her daughters and encouraged them to follow their dreams. She enjoyed spending time with them after her retirement (shopping, dining and going to the gun range were favorites of hers). She was a work mother to many people over the years; her favorite group being at the Home Depots where she worked. Country music, rodeos, and NASCAR were a passion of Claudettes for most of her life. Two of the best moments of Claudettes life were visiting Nashville and spending a week at the Daytona 500 on the inner track with Jerry. Claudette loved telling stories about weekends spent with friends and cousins, and the mischief they would get into as kids and adults. Claudette was a talented pool player, bowler, and dancer; she and Jerry spent countless nights together at pool halls, dance halls, and bowling alleys. She loved spending a week every June at the Camp Ben McCullough Reunion; playing bingo, playing carnival games, dancing, and spending time with family and friends. Some of her best days were spent hanging out with her best friend, Nancy Wilhite and her kids (Cole, Chasity, and Copeland). Claudette had a larger than life personality and she will be greatly missed. The world is a little bit quieter since her death. A memorial service will be held on November 11, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.,at the Creedmoor Community Center: 12513 FM 1625, Creedmoor, TX 78610.Further details can be found on Facebook through Claudette's memorial page.
