Emily is survived by her devoted parents Tina and Mark Lucia, her son Kuba Gumman, brother Mark Lucia & his wife Julia from California, her Aunts Diane and Virginia of East Windsor, her grandmother Patricia Adway of East Hartford, also her boyfriend Nathan from Enfield, and many cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Obituary Preview: Wilfred Joseph Michaud, 85, of East Windsor, beloved husband and father, passed away on Monday, April 1, 2024. Wilfred is reunited with his late-wife, Arlene C Michaud.
Wilfred was born in January 23, 1939 in Maine, but grew up in New Brunswick, Canada with 17 brothers and sisters before settling in East Windsor.
Wilfred and Arlene worked for the East Windsor school system, the town where they raised their three girls: Sandra Roy (Vincent), Denise Ferguson (Richard), and Michele. Wilfred and Arlene’s tremendous love is carried forward in their grandchildren Sloane Michaud (Megan), Tiffany Stone (Andy), Telah Cottreau (Kyle), and Cody Ferguson as well as their great-grandchildren Luna, Andrew, Micaiah, and Emilia.
He also leaves behind his sisters, Claudette Cassie (Rivard), Charlotte Veilleux (Albénie), Donalda Truchon (Roméric), Colette Capoldo (James), Nicole Michaud (Laurent), Brigitte Bourgoin and Anne-Marie Blanchette (Daryl), Marie-Ange Bernier (Alain), Martine Michaud (Daniel Roussy), his brothers, Gilles Michaud (Cécile), Eudore Michaud (Carole), Valdor Michaud (Joeline); his sisters-in-law, Micheline Michaud and Jacinthe Michaud along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Wilfred was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Arlene; his sisters, Constance Sirois and Lisette Michaud; his brothers, Rodrigue, Jacques, and Candide Michaud.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.

She was the beloved daughter of the late Jesse and Bennie Hughes. And the mother of the late Ebony Skinner, and sister of the late Delores Robinson and Calvin Hughes. Melanise is survived by her siblings Willy, Debra, Jesse Jr. and Linda. As well as many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. She graduated from Northeastern University with an Administrative Assistant career. Our beloved sister was a loving and caring person who will be missed always. Obituary Preview: Carolyn Ann Osborn, beloved wife of Richard Osborn for 68 years, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2024, at the age of 88 in Enfield, CT. Carolyn was born on January 10, 1936, in Rockville, CT to Arthur and Sylvia Green Wormstedt. She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her sister June, brothers Sonny and Wayne, and grandson John Paul Eckel.
Carolyn was a loving and caring person, always ready with a smile and willing to lend a helping hand. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of East Windsor for many years, where she found solace and strength in her faith. Carolyn was an active farmer, a skilled dog handler, and had a green thumb when it came to gardening. Her dedication to her family and her community was unwavering.
Carolyn is survived by her devoted husband Richard Osborn, their four children Debra, Jeff, Miriam and her husband Michael, and Earle and his wife Jennifer. She was a cherished grandmother to 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and had one great-great-grandchild with more on the way. Carolyn is also survived by her brother Harold Petschke and his wife Marianne of Maryland.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the calling hours at Bassinger & Dowd Funeral Home in East Windsor, CT on Friday, February 16, 2024, from 4 to 7 PM. Obituary Preview: Raymond “Doug” Humphrey 1959 - 2024, East Windsor. Doug passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 6th, 2024. Doug was born on April 20th, 1959 in Liberty, TX. He was the son of the late Neil Humphrey and survived by Betty Jo (Largent) Humphrey. Doug began his career in Granby as a police officer in the late 1970’s. In 1980, he joined the East Windsor Police Department. In 1996, Doug formed the first K-9 unit in East Windsor.He was also a community police officer at an apartment complex in East Windsor. He was actively training police dogs statewide. He was an active member of the CPWDA and NAPWDA. In 2004, he competed in the USPCA K-9 trials where he came in third place. In 2006, Doug retired from East Windsor and relocated to Titusville, FL. He joined the K-9 unit for one year before fully retiring in 2007. Doug is survived by his kids, Mason Libby, Ryan Humphrey and Penny Humphrey, as well as their mother, Erin Libby Lafleur, her husband Kyle Lafleur and their daughter Maeve Lafleur. He is survived by his mother, Betty Joe Humphrey of Jourdanton, Texas, his sister Sheila Drown and her husband David Drown of Jourdanton, Texas, Tanya Humphrey of Concord, NC, Amy Humphrey of Myrtle Beach, SC. His nieces and nephews Jennifer and Monica Hedling and Amanda and Jordin Drown and Nicholas and Anthony D ‘Agata.
Doug had a passion for police work and K-9 units around the country. He founded a non profit, The Penny Harris foundation which was created to assist departments in obtaining dogs they would otherwise not be able to afford. His mission was to keep Penny Harris’ life a legacy, including naming his only daughter Penny. You could always see Doug with a K-9 t-shirt on or a leather lead around his neck. Doug was dedicated to every officer and civilian who was in need. Doug was an outstanding father to his three children. He loved to take them ice fishing, dog training and everything in between.

Agnes Marie LaFlamme - April 03, 1930 - January 28, 2024

Obituary Preview: Agnes Trapp LaFlamme passed away peacefully at home with her family. She was born on April 3, 1930. She was one of seven children born to David and Florence Trapp. Agnes grew up in Rockville, CT and enjoyed going to dances in the town center and nights at Fox Hill tower.
She worked for many years at Traveler’s Insurance Company until she found her true passion as an assistant Pre-K teacher in the East Windsor School system. She lived in East Windsor for almost 40 years with the love of her life, Leo LaFlamme, who predeceased her. She leaves behind her daughter and caregiver, Susan LaFlamme and daughter, Linda Goff and her husband Barry, grandsons, Brian Goff, his wife Casey and Great grandson, Maxwell Leo, Grandson Matthew Goff and his wife Hillary and Grandson Eric Leo Goff and his partner Brianna Fleming. She is also survived by her loving brother, Thomas Trapp.
Agnes spent many wonderful summers in Halifax, Vermont at her family cottage. Many evenings were spent around the campfire where all the Laflamme and Tedone cousins gathered.
Agnes and Leo were able to tour Europe on several occasions during their retirement. They enjoyed Ireland, Italy, Greece and here at home they drove cross country with their daughters and Hawaii held a very special place in their hearts.
She will be dearly missed. She was a dedicated employee for Stop & Shop for over 35 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, going to the casino, dining out and shopping. She was also a dedicated Red Sox fan.
She is preceded by her late husband Wilfred Bourbeau. Eva also leaves her three children Bruce Bourbeau and wife Melanie (Anderson) of Manchester, CT, David Bourbeau and wife Deana (Natale) of Enfield, CT and their children Stephanie (Bourbeau) Harrington and husband Tylor of Pittsfield, MA, Michael Bourbeau of Enfield, CT, Steven Bourbeau, Anthony Bourbeau also from Enfield, CT. Daughter Beverly (Bourbeau) Mitchelle and husband William of New Braintree, Mass.

Obituary Preview: James Edward Throwe, 61, of South Windsor, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family after an aggressive battle with cancer. James was born May 2, 1962, to the late James H. Throwe and Virginia T. Throwe. James grew up in South Windsor and graduated from South Windsor High School class of 1980. In 1983, he entered the Army National Guard and served for six years before his honorable discharge as Second Lieutenant.
James was known for his strong work ethic and drive and was the proud owner and operator of Van’s Sewer and Septic over the last thirty-three years. He enjoyed most outdoor activities like hunting, quadding, and sitting by the pool. In the winter, he would travel to Jamacia to bask in the sun to work on his tan. Most days, James could be found shirtless, in his shop, or driving one of his many unique vehicles around town. He especially enjoyed taking leisurely rides down the “meadows” with his grandchildren in his Army jeep. Anyone who knew James knew James had quite a sense of humor. He had no problem being straightforward and honest and would say exactly how it was. James enjoyed cracking jokes, cooking venison, and sitting poolside with an ice pop. He was a caring man and loved to help where he could. He will be dearly missed by all his family, friends, and clients.
James is predeceased by his father, James H. Throwe, and his mother, Virginia T. Throwe. He is survived by his wife Lori of thirty-nine years, two daughters, Whitney Eichler and husband Erik, Jamie Throwe, two grandchildren, Kinsley and Greyson Eichler, his brother John Throwe and wife Gloria, sister Meredith Elco and husband Jim, and many nieces and nephews. Born in Stafford to Ruth Bowler Scotta and Bruno Scotta, she graduated from Sykes Memorial High School in Rockville, CT. She pursued her education at Saint Francis Hospital School of Nursing in Hartford where she received her Nursing Diploma. She had a long nursing career working in different settings with her favorite being psychiatric nursing. Nancy loved to travel, enjoyed going to dances on weekends, caring for her beloved Yorkies and spending time with family and friends. She moved to Ellington after retirement to spend more time with her son and family. She is survived by her son, Mark Fogil and wife Denise Kessler-Fogil and beloved grandchildren Darcy and Andrew Fogil and two children who adopted her as their grandmother, Kyle and Jenna Hartnett, her sister Patsy Brescia and many special nieces and nephews and her brother-in-law Edward Duell. She is pre-deceased by her sister Joan Duell and brother-in-law Richard Brescia. A special thanks to her wonderful, loving and exceptional caregivers, Dionne Bygrave Valentine and Helen David who cared for her for over 10 years in her home. Nancy’s family would also like to thank her hospice nurses for their assistance and support. Obituary Preview: Jason Albert Ellsworth, 47, of Broad Brook, peacefully entered Eternal life on Friday, September 22, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving family. Jason was born April 3, 1976 in Manchester, the son of Daniel Howe and Susan Jenkins Ellsworth. Jason was born prematurely, weighing less than 2 pounds and given a less than 10% chance of survival. He did survive to become a larger than life man who touched thousands of lives through his courage, spirit, joy, sense of humor and especially his music. Jason attended the East Windsor School Systems, as well as Perkins School for the Blind in Newton, Massachusetts. He attended college at Middle Tennessee State University and studied Music Production. While in college, he was a member of The Wesley Foundation, a campus ministry for and led by students, and performed with “The Four Buds” quartet. Jason was a very gifted musician and singer/songwriter who taught himself how to play piano at the age of 18 months. He was an avid fan of all genres of music, but country music held a special place in his heart. During his youth, Jason performed with the Very Special Arts organization which provided people with disabilities an outlet to showcase their artistic talents. Through these opportunities, Jason had the privilege to perform with numerous country artists including The Charlie Daniels Band, Alabama, The Gatlin Brothers and Tammy Wynette, to name a few. He also performed in many famous venues including The Grand Ole’ Opry, The Kennedy Center and The White House. Jason volunteered his time and talents at CRIS Radio for the Blind and Visually Impaired. He sang faithfully in his church choir. He enjoyed performing in several musical productions through the Opera House Players of Broad Brook. Jason enjoyed fine bourbon and a good cigar, and loved spending time with his dear friends at Connecticut Valley Tobacconist of Enfield.

Edward L. O'Brien - October 30, 1942 - September 20, 2023

Obituary Preview: Edward “Ted” L. O’Brien, Jr. of Broad Brook, CT passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at his home, surrounded by loved ones at the age of 80. He was born in Haydenville, MA in 1942, the son of the late Clara and Edward “Larry” O’Brien, Sr., and was a kind and loving husband to Kathryn B. O’Brien for 52 years. He graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1960, and from American International College in 1970 and became a Certified Public Accountant. He was an agent for the Internal Revenue Service for 39 years, serving as President of the Hartford area National Treasury Employees Union (NTEU) for 23 years, and an adjunct professor of accounting at Asnuntuck Community and Technical College in Enfield, CT, for 21 years. Civil service was important to Ted and it showed with his 33 years of service with (and retirement from) the 104th Massachusetts Air National Guard Wing at Barnes Air National Guard Base in Westfield, MA. He also had a passion for restoring old cars and enjoyed showing the antiques at car shows in the area. During his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his family on Cape Cod and taking walks on the beach. His humor was contagious, and was always the friendly beacon in every room he entered.
Passionate about the community, he was involved with local issues within the town of Broad Brook, volunteered to coach his children’s sports teams and supported many philanthropic efforts and organizations around the greater Hartford area, including the Hartford Marathon, of which he was a proud volunteer for over 20 years. His desire to help others was further exemplified as he donated to the Red Cross 110 times and gave 13.75 gallons of blood throughout his life. As a practicing Catholic, he was a parishioner of St. Catherine’s Church in Broad Brook, CT. He was also a member of the Elk’s Club of Northampton, MA, the East Windsor Sportsman Club, and the Corvette Club of Connecticut.

Vincent J. Dombroski - January 12, 1930 - August 03, 2023

Obituary Preview: Vincent J. Dombroski, 93, of East Windsor, husband of Edith (Stearns) Dombroski, passed away unexpectedly on August 3, 2023 at Hartford Hospital.
Vincent was born January 12, 1930 in Hartford to the late John and Helen Dombroski.
He attended Windsor High School graduating in 1948. After graduation he attended Barber School until his enlistment in the Army where is served 3 years and was Honorably Discharged on April 21, 1953. On November 19, 1955 Vincent and Edith married and started their family. After a short career with Royal Typewriter, Vincent began a 36 year career with the USPS retiring in 1999. After retirement Vincent enjoyed the many hours he spent with his grandchildren and being so proud of the adults that they had become and the families they had started. Vincent had a love of bird watching while doing his favorite hobby of building puzzles outside on his porch. He also was a movie enthusiast where he had quite the collection of DVD’s. His love of sports would always start a lengthy conversation with everyone who walked in the house. The daily crossword puzzle in the newspaper was a necessity for him. There wasn’t a crossword puzzle he couldn’t complete. He also enjoyed a good game of scrabble with his grandson Ryan.
Vincent is survived by his wife of 67 years, Edith. He leaves two daughters Diane Newell and husband Norman, Lori Titus and husband Andy and two sons Ray Dombroski and Tom Dombroski all of East Windsor.
He leaves his grandchildren Christine Lavoie and husband Matt of Enfield, Andrea Newell of Phoenix, Az, Chelsey Dombroski and husband Phil of Southington, Joe Titus of Ashland, OH, Ryan Newell of East Windsor, Anna Dombroski of Windsor Locks and Jonathan Titus of East Windsor. He leaves five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Vincent was predeceased by a son baby Michael and his brothers Francis Dombroski and Albert Dombroski.
Calling hours will be held from 4-7 pm., Friday, August 11, 2023 at the Bassinger & Dowd Funeral Home, 37 Gardner Street, East Windsor. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 12, 2023 at the funeral home. Burial will follow with Military Honors at Springdale Cemetery in East Windsor.

David Jowell Pelletier - July 21, 1954 - July 12, 2023

Obituary Preview: David J. Pelletier, 68, of Broad Brook, Connecticut passed away on July 12th 2023. He was born on July 21st 1954 in Waterville, Maine son of the late Harvey and Estelle (Quirion) Pelletier. He earned his GED in 1997 after a lot of hard work and dedication to reach his goal. At age 16 he enlisted in the Army serving as a cook stationed in Germany. He later served as an Army Reservist at Fort Dix. After a short separation from the military he re-enlisted as an Air Force Reservist at Westover AFB working in the mess hall. He transferred to Aircraft Maintenance working in the Corrosion Control shop and became an Air Reserve Technician running the “paint shop” his way, passing many inspections with high marks. He transitioned to the Sheet Metal shop until he retired from the Reserve program in 2009 after serving 35 years attaining the rank of TSgt. He served during the Vietnam War, Operation Desert Shield/Storm, Operation Noble Eagle, Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. He remained at Westover in a civilian capacity working on the ISO dock until he retired in 2013. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Carol, who chose to pick him up as he was hitchhiking on Route 5. He leaves a son, Nicholas and his wife Melanie of Stafford and two daughters, Kaci and her partner Shaun of Enfield and Britani of Broad Brook. He also leaves four grandchildren, Anthony and Kristoffer Pelletier, Dyllan Cox, and Piper Bailey Pelletier. His passion was cooking for family and friends (chicken soup for the soul was a favorite when anyone was sick) along with watching the Hallmark Christmas movies and old westerns on Grit TV. He loved listening to classic country music, bowling, working on his pool, and fishing. David was an avid cribbage player and enjoyed playing any type of game with his family. He also loved gardening with his wife and traveling to many special places since he retired. He had an extreme knowledge of utterly useless information which helped him succeed at Trivia games. Gagne 3rd (Bucky); brother, Roger Gagne; sister, Alice Nye; brothers-in-law, Robbie Smith and Herbert Nye.
Art was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. His family always came first. He leaves his loving wife of 62.5 years Mildred (Millie) Gagne; daughters, Tammy Bosse and her husband Dennis Bosse, Penny Delahanty and her husband Thomas Delahanty, Nicole Gagne-Dion and husband Thomas Dion; his three grandchildren, Dustin Gagne, Lyndsey Hensel, and Tristan Parsons. As well as his three great-grandchildren, Kaeleigh Scioscio, Skylar Robinson and Teagan Robinson; his brother, Clyde Gagne; sister-in-law, Gail; sister, Blanche Smith; longtime friend of 60 years, Dave Ollari; Marc Brennan, & special nephew, James Gagne and so many extended family members and close friends that loved him. Scott was a devoted husband to his wife Lisa Osborn (Peckham). He leaves behind his sister Karen Loubier (Osborn), his children Kristyn, Gregory, Derek, Alyssa, Caitlin, and Brittany as well as his 6 grandchildren, Lylliana, Andrew, Maxwell, Braden, Charles,and Briana. But not forgetting his fur baby (cat) Jim Dandy.
Scott was an avid sports fan, and hunter. He will truly be missed for his witty sense of humor and meticulous work ethic and innate ability to fix anything.
Services will be held on Saturday June 17th, 2023 at Bassinger & Dowd Funeral Home from 9am-11am. A gravesite memorial will be held at Scantic Cemetery, 15 Cemetery Rd., East Windsor at 11:30am. Refreshments and more time to share memories will immediately follow the graveside memorial at Broad Brook Congregational Church, 122 Main St., Broad Brook. Dottie resided in Broad Brook most of her life.
Prior to retiring, Dottie was employed for 25 years with Cigna in Bloomfield, CT. After retirement she took a part time job at Southern Auto Auction where she made many new friends. To know her was to love her. An avid UCONN Basketball fan, Dottie enjoyed spending time with her family, going to the movies with friends, eating out at her favorite restaurants, trips to the casino and the beach. She also enjoyed her weekly visits to the hair salon, along with her manis and pedis. Her greatest joy was her granddaughter Caitlin. She was extremely proud of her and loved watching her dance.
Dottie is survived by her two daughters, Lori Lane and her husband Edward, along with her cherished granddaughter Caitlin of South Windsor, CT and Lisa Fuller and her husband Bennett of Enfield, CT. She leaves behind cousins and many special friends who will miss her dearly.

After temporarily enjoying the fruits of his retirement, he realized the slow-paced lifestyle wasn’t for him and has been employed by Walmart for the last 10 years.
Bruce was an avid golfer. He enjoyed every aspect of the game, whether it was spending time at the driving range, playing 18 holes on the weekends, watching it on t.v., or making custom clubs for his children and grandchildren.
Bruce leaves behind his wife and best friend of 49 years, Kathy (Maher) Muska; his children, Michele (Muska) Cyr of Meriden and Melissa (Muska) Hayes of Nederhorst den Berg, The Netherlands. His grandchildren, Richard O. Cyr and fiancé Emily Fusco of Arlington, VA, Daniel Cyr and fiancé Emily Virgulto & great grandson Tucker of West Haven, Shannon Cyr of Norwich, Brianna and Caitlyn Hayes of Wilmington, NC.
