Distinguished family members, friends, and all those who have gathered here today, we are here to honor the life of a truly remarkable woman, Mary Dupuis.
Others might have known her as a loving and caring friend, a kind soul who was always ready to offer a helping hand. To us, however, she was a cherished family member, a one-of-a-kind aunt to over forty-five nieces and nephews.
Born as one of thirteen children to Joseph Baron and Rena Dugas, Mary's upbringing instilled in her the value of family and togetherness. She carried this strong bond with her throughout her life, showering endless love and care upon the countless little ones who called her "Aunt Mary." Her presence filled our lives with joy, warmth, and security.
When Mary married Elgie Dupuis, they quickly became inseparable. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and precious memories. Though they had no children of their own, the bond they shared inspired us all. Their deep and unwavering love for one another was a constant testament to the power of true love.
In these times of mourning, I am reminded of a passage from John 14:1-3, which says:
"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me, that you also may be where I am."
As we grieve the loss of our Aunt Mary, let us find solace in these words, for her faith and love for the Lord were as strong as her love for us. We can find comfort in knowing that Mary is now in a better place, a place where she can rest in eternal peace.
A woman of great strength and resilience, Mary was an inspiration to us all. She taught us the importance of unconditional love, of forgiveness, and of supporting one another through life's trials and tribulations. She personified love and became our guiding light, our North Star.
In the face of adversity, Mary remained kind-hearted, strong-willed, and tenacious. No amount of hardship or struggle could dull her unwavering spirit and zest for life. She held her head high with grace and never wavered in her determination to overcome every obstacle that came her way.
It is with heavy hearts that we say our final goodbyes. Our world may feel a little darker without her light, but we must remember the lessons she imparted upon us. We must embrace her memory and strive to embody the same love and kindness she so tirelessly shared with those around her.
Mary Dupuis, beloved wife, sister, and aunt, you leave a deep void in our hearts, but your strength, wisdom, and love will live on through each one of us. We promise to hold you in our hearts forevermore, until we meet again in that heavenly place prepared for us by our Father.
