For over 25 years, Ann served the students of Webster as a health aide and house office secretary at both R.L. Thomas and H.W. Schroeder High Schools. Former students and colleagues remember Ann for her easygoing and friendly manner, excellent work ethic, and most of all, her wry sense of humor.
Ann was also an accomplished and beloved local poet, participating in many poetry groups, serving as a judge in poetry contests, and most importantly writing her own uniquely personal and literary poetry, a passion she followed to the end of her life.
Many of Ann’s fondest memories were of the many trips she took with friends to such diverse locales as Amsterdam, Tuscany, and the rainforest of Costa Rica. She never took a trip without forging new lifelong friendships with the people she met along the way.
Ann also gave pieces of her heart to the local fauna, always keeping a bucket of seed available to spread on her patio for any Webster bird or squirrel in need of an easy meal. They will miss Ann.
But not as much as her friends and family will miss her.

James Kruchinsky - November 28, 1963 - March 15, 2024

Departed: 03/15/2024 (Webster)
Obituary Preview: Passed away March 15 2024. Born November 1963 in Hof, Germany. Predeceased by parents, Joseph A. and Betty A. Kruchinsky. Survived by brother, Joe (Sharon); uncle, Ron Kruchinski (Lisa); cousins throughout the USA; and all his extended family at Heritage Christian Services, especially at his Heritage Christian residence at S. Winton Road in Rochester. We are particularly grateful for the care of Jimmy by Kathy Schlafer and her staff there as well as lifelong family friend and spiritual leader, Diane Sturmer.
Although developmentally challenged, Jimmy had been given many positive experiences throughout his 60 years by mom and dad. Moving from Germany, the family crossed the Atlantic by cruise ship and located in Rochester NY. After a few years, the family moved to Texas for 6 years, then back to Rochester when Jimmy was 10 years old, finally settling in Webster. There were many travels including a 7 week motor home trip from Texas throughout the Southwest, along with our new puppy Boomer, an Australian Terrier that loved to connect with Jimmy in a special way, often to find some kind of unexpected escapade as a team. The family also spent many weeks visiting mom's family in Tupelo, Mississippi and dad's family in Pennsylvania.
Jimmy graduated from the Foreman Center school in Fairport, NY when he was 18. After a time, a major decision came for Jimmy to move into a Heritage Christian residence and it quickly proved to be a very positive change. Jimmy really thrived, making new friends and family and began a working career, gaining an independence that amazed us all. As travel was in our blood from an early stage, he loved being on the move and his loving Heritage Christian family accompanied him on many trips including favorites in Ireland, NY Yankees spring training in Florida, summer nights in Old Forge, NY and his particular favorite, Disney cruises.
Along his travels and leisure time, he met so many people and had lasting memories including shadow boxing Muhammed Ali (yes Muhammed won) and being one-arm hoisted over the fence onto the practice field by Buffalo Bills' Bruce Smith, each resulting from Jimmy's love of sports and being in the right place at the right time.
He also loved music and was easily the better dancer over his brother. He also enjoyed collecting sports cards, anything dog related, participating in Special Olympics, boating, many types of music, especially country (no doubt from his mom), and hanging out with his brother's friends who all adopted Jimmy (special thank you to you all). He had a great sense of humor and loved to play the occasional joke, with a certain unexpected wit that was sometimes lost on the unsuspecting.
While he will be missed by so many who loved him, we take solace knowing he is again reunited with his mom and dad. His brother, Joe, has learned so much from Jimmy and is a stronger, better person because of him. Painfully gone yet fondly remembered, rest in forever peace, my brother.
Services at the discretion of the family. Interment at Webster Union Cemetery in the springtime, weather permitting. Donations in his memory may be made to Heritage Christian Services.

Robert (Bob) Howard Davis - August 04, 1942 - February 17, 2024

Departed: 02/17/2024 (Webster)
Obituary Preview: Born August 4, 1942, went home to the Lord on February 17, 2024. Robert was a loving husband to Angela, caring father to Stephen (Dina) and Valerie (Gavin), and devoted grandfather to Elise Rebecca and Joshua Jonah. He is survived by brother Rick Swift. Born in the Adirondacks of NY, he most recently lived in Fairport, NY.
Bob was brilliant, wherever his mind took him. Starting from his grandfather’s garage in Chazy Lake, he had a gift for figuring out things. In his career, he pioneered curriculum development approaches for radiologic technology programs, including diagnostic sonography and echocardiography. He was an inspiring teacher at Hudson Valley Community College, leading others to appreciate the intricacies of imaging in both academic and clinical settings. His love of discovery and ability to visualize how processes could be made better lead to him being a sought-after consultant for health departments, colleges, hospitals, and the American Medical Association.
At the same time, Bob loved music. Not just music for its own sake but music as art. He had a theory he called “Tecture.” Basically, he thought about how listeners derived meaning from what they heard, and concluded that being able to understand the language that a song might be sung in was not as important as the power and intonation of how the song was sung, along with the instrumentation. He loved adding to his knowledge of music by designing a YouTube channel under the name of ProfDavis. Not only did his 15,000 subscribers benefit from the research he did to explain the background of the songs he would feature, he would make videos for his family and others that touched his life based on what he learned those listeners special to him would love to hear.
Dad had a cheeky sense of humor that stayed with him his whole life. He never saw himself as a warrior, but he really was. Despite heart attacks, strokes, Bell’s palsy, and the challenges facing him because of diabetes and reduced mobility, he kept wanting to learn, create, and bring people to loving sounds they never knew existed. His love of sound and theory of Tecture motivated him to start learning French and Italian in his late 70s, just to gain insight into how much language in music mattered. He found neat things to listen to, watch, or use on the internet often years before they became mainstream.
We asked him how he would like to be remembered. His reply was that he was at the right place, at the right time, and it was God’s will that he was doing what he was doing.
Thanks for your lessons in perseverance, Dad, and your deep love of learning and trying new things.
Rest in peace, Professor.

Angela Jean "Julie" Davis (Loffredo) - July 18, 1939 - February 15, 2024

Departed: 02/15/2024 (Webster)
Obituary Preview: Born July 18, 1939, went home to the Lord on February 15, 2024. Angela was a devoted wife to Robert, caring mother of Stephen (Dina) and Valerie (Gavin), and loving grandmother to Elise Rebecca and Joshua Jonah. She was one of six children: Carmel, Vincent, John, Virginia, and Antoinette. Born in Schenectady, NY, she most recently lived in Fairport, NY.
Angela was a woman of faith. Even as a young girl, she wanted to be the person that God wanted her to be. She loved beauty in nature, whether that was the sunflowers that reminded her of Vincent Van Gogh or the birds that she loved seeing in her backyard. She was the one that taught both her children and her grandchildren to “have no mercy” only when it came to playing checkers.
Mom often showed her love through the thoughtfulness she put into details. It might be the stickers she chose to put around a Christmas card or that she’d make sure that a favorite snack was always in her pantry for a grandchild to find. She would donate vegetables that she grew to local food banks and had the type of generous spirit that found more joy in giving than receiving. Her professional background was as a nurse. At Holy Ghost Hospital in Cambridge, Massachusetts she was devoted to being a
comfort to terminally ill patients, beyond attending to medical need. This care extended to the hospice work she took on after her children were grown, and then to being a caregiver to her husband every single day from the moment he became disabled for the next 27 years.
There was a fun spark to Mom. She was the one who would play a game of HORSE with her children after dinner and then, decades later, shoot hoops with her grandson when she was in her 80s. She watched her grand-daughter as a child, enabling her daughter to pursue her educational goals. Those days were full of playing marbles, hop-scotch, and even roller skating, finished off with homemade meals that we all still think of. She was a starter of family traditions, whether it was hiding a dollar in a Halloween ornament for grandchildren to find or having a particular type of cookie only on Christmas Day to keep that as something special.
Angela’s keen mind often turned to politics where her knowledge of who did what, when, and why would fuel lively debate with her son in particular. She soaked up information, whether it was about what cars to buy, how to naturally get rid of aphids in the garden from companion planting, or how technology affected personal liberties. We thank God for the lessons that our Mom and Grandma taught us about life and, more importantly, holding an honest relationship with God through his Son Jesus Christ. We know that you are receiving the promises of Revelation 22:1-5, that you now see “the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb through the middle of the street of the city; also, on either side of the river, the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. No longer will there be anything accursed, but the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants will worship him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. And the night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever.”
Shalom, Mom.

Kathy was a humble and caring person. When her nephew Ben planned his wedding over Kathy’s birthday weekend, she was so happy to attend. He loved with the most genuine and purest heart. He never complained about his disability and made the most with the time he was given on this earth. He wrote a book, which he published, had a love for music (especially the Beatles) and his memory was sharp as a tack. He lived vicariously through the stories he heard from friends and family and loved to ask “So what else is new?” He was a wonderful listener, incredibly kind and a blessing to all who knew him.
