He was born August 21, 1946 in Stanly County to the late RV Burris and Clara Honeycutt Burris. In addition to his parents, he was reunited in death with his loving wife of 56 years, Wanda Sue Honeycutt; and his brothers, David and Larry Honeycutt. Harold enjoyed many things like his guns, coins and knives. He also loved fishing and the beach. Every chance he got he would collect different items from different places. He loved spending time with the grandchildren and teaching them how to garden. Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Jeff Honeycutt (Linda); granddaughter, Jamie Prince (Micah); grandson, Chris Honeycutt (Diana); great-grandchildren, Jasmine Prince, Chelsea Fikes, Kali Prince; and brother Charles Honeycutt (Linda). A graveside service to honor Harold's memory will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, April 18, 2022 at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove, NC. Dennis James Gerlock - December 16, 1938 - April 10, 2022

Obituary Preview: Dennis James Gerlock, 83, of Concord, passed away suddenly on April 10, 2022 at Atrium Health Cabarrus.
Dennis was born on December 16, 1938 in Lancaster, New York. Beloved husband of Shirley Hinckley Gerlock, his loving wife of 59 years. Cherished son of the late Charles Joseph Gerlock and Ruth Helen Brown Gerlock. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Suzanne Kirschner.
Dennis spent his career as a Depew, New York Police Lieutenant, retiring after 31 years of service. Dennis and his wife retired in 1999 and moved to North Carolina in June of 2002. Dennis loved football and was a devout Buffalo Bills fan since 1960 as well as an avid reader. Most of all, he loved his family and grandchildren. He was a huge support system for his grandchildren, making family the most important part of his life. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Those left to cherish this memory include children, James Gerlock, Lynn Hofmann (Joseph), Wendy Davidson, William D. Kirschner (Julie), Jonathan Gerlock (Sarah); grandchildren, Ashley Alberti, Alexander Kirschner, Elizabeth Davidson, Sarah Kirschner, Katherine Davidson, Benjamin Davidson, Hannah Hofmann, Hailey Hofmann; and great-granddaughter, Arya Alberti; siblings, Charles Gerlock (Betty), Ronald Gerlock (Christine), and Gary Gerlock.  Sister-in-law, Bonnie Lawrence Rusert (Mark).

Born September 7, 1929 in Cabarrus County, he was the son of the late of Walter and Viola Wright Gardner. Jerry spent his working years as a Doffer at the former Cannon Mills. He was an avid bowler and a past NC state horseshoe throwing champion. Jerry is survived by his wife Clara Cox Gardner; a son, Jerry Allen Gardner of Concord; a grandson, Jon Gardner of Enochville; a great grandson, Kyson Gardner; and a sister, Jimmie Verniece Beltran of Las Vegas. Aside from his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by three sisters, Martha Irene, Ora Zell, and Helen Louise; and three brothers Ovid Buell, Baxter Hartzell, and Walter Clark. A graveside service to honor Jerry's life will be held at 12:00 pm, Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at Carolina Memorial Park. Born April 18, 1952 in Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Nellie Looney Price. Leona spent of her working years as a hairstylist working at Nancy Lynn Hair Fashions. She loved doing hair, makeup, singing, shopping and chatting it up with her friends. Leona is survived by two children, Kisha Bowlin and husband Steve of Kannapolis and Brandon Shelton of Kannapolis; four grandchildren, Mercedes O'Daniel and husband Dustin, Chase McEachern, Jena Hudson, and Brooklyn Bowlin; five great grandchildren, Bryson, Nolan, Marleigh, Hayley, Everleigh; a dear friend, Jimmy Sheppard. Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Glenda Jacobs and very recently by her favorite canine companion, Pixie. A funeral service to honor Leona's life will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Whitley's Funeral Home, Kannapolis. Rev. Demps Overcash will officiate. Obituary Preview: Vicki Leann Klika, 60, of Concord, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 28, 2022 surrounded by family in Concord. Vicki was born on August 4, 1961 in Wisconsin. She was a cherished daughter of Harland Klika and Larue Fryfogle Klika. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Dick Hunt. Vicki spent the majority of her life growing up in Hortonville, WI before moving to North Carolina. Later on, she will fulfill a dream of hers of living at the beach in South Carolina. Vicki loved the beach and spending time boating and swimming. She enjoyed some alone time curling up with a good book. Vicki loved traveling and taking trips to Mexico. She also had a collection of house plants that brought her joy to take care of. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Those left to cherish her memory include her loving siblings, Penny Schroeder(Jim) and Russell Klika; nieces, Kelly Schroeder, Holly Schroeder; nephews, Dustin Klika, Zack Klika and Nick Klika; great-nieces, Eleanor Klika, Campbell Klika, Charlotte Klika, Mercedez Alexander, Daijah-Lynn Alexander and Marleigh Alexander.

Obituary Preview: Daisy Lee Ketner Williams, 94, formally of Kannapolis, answered the call of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 9, 2022 at the Mt. Pleasant House Assistant Living Facility in Mt. Pleasant.
She was born April 10, 1927, in Rowan County (Salisbury)  to the late Charlie Adam Ketner and Mary Lee Troutman Ketner.
Daisy was a member of Second Presbyterian Church, den mother for the Cub Scouts. She was a graduate of J.W. Cannon High School Class of 45’. Her most enjoyable job was working at the Woolworths Dept. Store in downtown Kannapolis. She later had an opportunity to work at Cannon Mills in the washcloth dept. where she worked until her retirement in the late 80’s. Daisy loved children of all ages and enjoyed spending time with them.  She was devoted to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, loved her family dearly and was a giver from the heart.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Cannon Williams, three brothers; Clyde Ketner, Lloyd Elwood Ketner and Roy C. Ketner, three sisters; Ruth Ketner Caldwell, Cleo Ketner Glenn and Myrtle Ketner Waddell.
Those left to cherish her memory, her daughter, Glenda Williams Goodman and husband Myron, granddaughter, Joni Goodman Featherstone, great granddaughter Layni Featherstone, sister Mildred Ketner Karriker along with many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00PM Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel, with David Ketner officiating, burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
Visitation will be prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Whitley’s Funeral Home.

Roy Michael Tickle - January 01, 1954 - March 03, 2022

Obituary Preview: Reverend Roy Michael "Mike" Tickle has gone on to meet his beloved Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He is resting in the arms and presence of the Almighty God. Born January 1, 1954 in Iredell County, he was the son of the late Leroy and Sadie Swicegood Tickle. Mike was a 1972 graduate of AL Brown and had an Associate Degree from Belmont College in Textiles. Mike was marvelously saved in the mid 70's and was a member of God's Church of Faith. The Lord called him into the ministry where he served The Lord faithfully until his disability prevented him from doing so. Mike was a "Hall of Fame" Youth Pastor for many years. He directed the youth choir and was also a member of the adult choir with his dear wife Dianne. Mike served as an associate minister at the church. He taught the discipleship class and worked in sponsorship prison ministry for many years. Mike faithfully served on the church executive board as the corporate secretary and treasurer. Mike Tickle truly made a difference in the lives of many for which he now reaps the eternal reward. Mike is survived by his sister, Sandra Tickle McGalliard; 2 brothers, Pat and Randy Tickle; an adopted sister, Tammy Cardwell Williams; five nieces; two nephews; ten great nieces and nephews; and an adopted grandson, Johnathan Simmons. Aside from his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his beloved wife Dianne and a son Christopher Michael Tickle. A funeral service to honor Mike's life will be held 2:30pm Sunday, March 6, 2022 at God's Church of Faith, Kannapolis. Rev. Jeff Upright and Rev. Tim Brown will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove. The family will receive friends 1:00 - 2:30 pm prior to the service at the church Sunday. Hazel Geraldine Hampton - April 10, 1929 - February 26, 2022

Obituary Preview: Hazel Lambert Hampton, 92, of Kannapolis, passed away, Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Atrium Health Cabarrus.
She was born April 10, 1929 in Stanley Co. to the late William Albert Lambert and Sarah Honeycutt Lambert.
Hazel was a member of First Baptist Church Kannapolis. She was a devoted wife for 70 years to Gene who passed in March, 2020. She was a loving mother to her five children and was the glue that held the family together. She took precious care of her son, Barry, who was born with spina bifida, making sure he was able to attend school with other children during a time when handicapped children may not have had the same opportunities. At Barry's high school graduation, she was recognized with a standing ovation from the crowd for her commitment to making sure he was in school. Hazel loved gardening and could grow anything. She was always generous to share the harvest of her garden with friends, neighbors and family. She loved spending time with her family and was always willing to set another plate for anyone that showed up at mealtime. She went along on fishing trips with her family because she knew they enjoyed the outdoors and supported them. She worked briefly outside the home at Cannon Mills in the office until her children came along. She explored the world with her love of reading and did so until just recently. Hazel was a kind, sweet and caring person who always had a smile. She can best be described as a Proverbs 31 woman. She dearly loved her family and her Lord. She will be greatly missed by all her knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband Clifford Eugene "Gene" Hampton, brother, Cecil Lambert, sisters Ruth Morgan and Jewell Chapman.
Those left to cherish her memory, sons; Barry Hampton, of Kannapolis, Robert Hampton (Katherine) of Harrisburg, daughters; Beverly Blackwelder (Eric) of Kannapolis, Barbara Gardner (Baxter) of Salisbury, Lisa Cobb (Greg) of Salisbury, 10 Grandchildren, eight Great Grandchildren, and two Great-Great Grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 1:45 PM Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at Whitley's Funeral Home.
A private family service will follow conducted by Pastor Trent Drye.

Kenneth Earl Boucher - September 18, 1931 - February 23, 2022

Obituary Preview: Kenneth E. Boucher, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and retired airline executive passed away peacefully on February 23rd, at the age of 90, surrounded by his loving family. He was a devout Christian and applied it to all aspects of his life. Kenneth was born in Madison, Wisconsin to the late Glenn Nelson Boucher and the late Victoria Bacco Boucher. As a devoted and loving husband of 67 years to his bride, he is survived by Barbara Nelson Boucher formerly of Spread Eagle, Wisconsin, three daughters: Shanna Matteo (Scott) of Tallahassee, Florida; Sandra Bessent (Paul) of Kannapolis, NC; and Sally Sunday of Edmond, Oklahoma.
He is also survived by five grandchildren: Mckenzie Hampton of Carthage, NC; Bethany (Damone) Ross of Cameron, NC; Paul Sunday of Tulsa, OK; Dewey Sunday of Tulsa, OK; and Samuel Matteo of Tallahassee, Florida. He dearly loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his three children, five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Mr. Boucher graduated from Ponce de Leon High School in Coral Gables, Florida and attended the University of Miami. After serving 2 years in the United States Army Infantry, Mr. Boucher worked for more than 38 years in the travel industry with expertise in tourism development and airline management. He began his career in 1955 as a Customer Service Representative with Eastern Airlines. He joined Delta Airlines in 1963 and worked 28 years to become a worldwide manager of multiple departments including Travel Industry Marketing, Travel Agency Marketing, and Package Vacation Marketing. He developed creative marketing techniques and innovative marketing strategies to expand vacation products and discretionary passenger sales during Delta Air Lines most vigorous period of growth and worldwide expansion.
He served Delta Air Lines in Atlanta, GA, Milwaukee, WI, Chicago, IL, and Sarasota, Florida. In addition, he developed and opened Delta's flight service to Greensboro, High Point, and Winston-Salem, North Carolina as well as the Tulsa and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma markets.
Upon his retirement, he continued to provide his travel industry knowledge and expertise as a Volunteer Executive with the International Executive Service Corps in Africa, Armenia, and Russia. He served his church as a Presbyterian Elder and tirelessly served on the Board of Directors for the Delta Air Lines Retiree Community (DALRC). He was actively involved and held leadership positions in many other volunteer roles, including the Jaycees, various Chambers of Commerces, and Rotary International.
Mr. Boucher was an avid car enthusiast, Nascar fan, and world traveler. He lived and loved people and life passionately as he approached every endeavor with energy and enthusiasm. People were naturally drawn to Kenneth due to his meticulous style and exceptional organizational skills coupled with his dry sense of humor and genuine love for people. A Memorial service and celebration of Mr. Boucher's life will be held Friday, June 17th, 2022 at 11:00 am at Toale Brothers Funeral Home - Colonial Chapel, 40 North Orange Avenue Sarasota, Florida 34236. She loved collecting Betty Boop memorabilia, the Young at Heart group at Kannapolis Church of God, and helping with the Sweet Street and Community Cookout. Mary is survived by her siblings, Rick Bost and wife Debbie, Wayne, Jim, Mike, and Janet Bost; nieces and nephews, Walter and Kelly Bost, Samantha and Ronnie Lefler, Dennis, Robin and Adam Bost; five great nieces and nephews. Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley and Linda Bost; and two brothers, Charles and Richard Bost. Michelle was born on July 17, 1982 in Rowan Co., a daughter of Teresa Parker Wilson and Michael Brock. She was preceded in death by her sister Elizabeth Brock and grandparents Jim and Marty Parker.
Michelle had a very mothering and nurturing personality. She was the rock of her family and was like a mother to her younger sisters. Michelle enjoyed riding her motorcycle and loved her bike family. She spent her career working for 20 years at RGIS. She loved all her co-workers and always treated them like her children. One of her favorite places to visit was the beach. It filled her heart with joy to spend time with her family that she loved very much. She was loved by everyone that knew her and will be dearly missed.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving parents, Teresa Parker Wilson, Mike Brock and step-father Jeff Carpenter (Michelle); siblings, Carrie Wilson, Jennifer Wilson, Jeffery Carpenter II, Kasey Hinson, Bryson Deaton and Weston Carpenter; nieces and nephews, Jaydyn Beaver (Peanut Butter), Richard, Khloe, Lila, Antalya and Aunt Debbie Troutman.

Born, April 11, 1947, in Mooresville, he was the son the late Otha Anthony and Linda Adell Whitley Williams. During his working years, he did auto mechanical work, auto body and paint work, owned his own auto dealership and enjoyed fixing watches for customers at Webb Road Flea Market. Pete loved fishing with his grandson and spending time with his daughter, Jennifer. Those left to cherish Pete's memory are two daughters, Jennifer Martin (Danny), of Spencer, Joyce Williams Luffman (Paul) of Statesville; a step-daughter, Carla Pressley; six sons, Jeff Williams, of Terrell, Donnie Williams of Troutman, Hubert Williams of Troutman, Timothy McEachern (Lisa) of China Grove, Jeffrey McEachern of Salisbury, and Ronnie McEachern of Tampa, FL; a brother, Buddy Williams (Jena) of Mooresville. Patricia was born July 14, 1943 in Surry Co., a daughter of the late Ira Tildon Martin and Viola Griffith Martin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Richard Scott Greene.
Patricia was of the Baptist faith and loved to spend time in her garden planting flowers. She was an avid traveler and loved to take trips to the beach and the mountains. She enjoyed reading and always had a book with her. More than anything she loved spending time with her family. They were very important to Patricia and she cherished every minute with them. She was loved by all who knew her and will be dearly missed.

He worked at Pillowtex Fieldcrest Cannon plant 16 for many years as a supervisor. He drove a tractor trailer for 20 plus years with companies TMC transport, Kellogg's Snacks, and Swing Transport. He also worked for What Matters Most in Concord. Steve loved the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he loved Nascar, he was a diehard Kyle Busch fan. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family and fishing. Obituary Preview: Benny Lee "Pete" McIntyre, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, January 25th, 2022 at the age of 78 years old. His funeral will be held at 1:00pm Sunday, January 30, 2022 at Friendship Freewill Baptist Church in Kannapolis with Rev. George Morris officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove. His family will receive friends from 5:00pm- 7:00pm Saturday, January 29 at Whitley's Funeral Home. Born May 10th, 1943 in Chesterfield, SC to the late Ben and Gracie McIntyre, he was the oldest of five children. He and his wife, Virginia McIntyre, of 58 years were married on November 3rd, 1962, and grew their family together having three children. Pete worked as a Fixer at Cannon Mills in Kannapolis for 28 years. In his younger years, Pete was a carpenter. He spent time remodeling and building houses and churches. In the mid 70s he was a volunteer fireman for Enochville fire department. After retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren at the lake. Pete really enjoyed spending time with his great-grandchildren. He said that they were his heartbeat. He is survived by his three children; Gerryl McIntyre (Shanon), Shelia Bumgarner (Tony), and Christopher McIntyre (Lori); his grandchildren, Weston Lambert, Derick McIntyre (Alisha), Chelsea Martinez (Steve), Shelby Knabbe (Cole), Christina, Cassie, and Haley McIntyre; his great-grandchildren, Kaiden Martinez, Layla McIntyre, and Salem Knabbe; his siblings Ellavee Huffman, Jerry McIntyre, Johnny McIntyre and Jack McIntyre (Dolly). Pete preceded in death by his parents; Ben and Gracie McIntyre; his wife Virginia McIntyre; and his grandson Matthew McIntyre.
