Bryan Thomas Redzinski - May 31, 1970 - October 12, 2023

Departed: 10/12/2023 (Van Nuys)
Obituary Preview: Bryan Thomas Redzinski, a dedicated musician and much-loved Angeleno, died peacefully at 53 on October 12th, 2023 in his intricately curated apartment of 28 years. He was cremated on October 25th.
Bryan was born on May 31st, 1970 to Mary and Richard Redzinski in Somerville, New Jersey. He was the youngest of five and he is survived by his older brothers Richard, Kevin, Keith, and Chris.
As a teen, Bryan dove—headfirst—into the local and east coast underground music scene. He co-created a handmade fanzine called Thrashing Rage to help promote then struggling metal bands like Metallica and Slayer.
But Bryan grew anxious to leave New Jersey. He visited Los Angeles in 1990 then made it his home in 1993. With great pride, he never left.
During his time in California, he formed and operated his own home improvement company called Home Works West. Over thirty years, he built a loyal clientele, many of whom considered him part of the family. He was universally known as someone who could be relied on no matter what.
These special bonds were not limited to those he worked with—every person who met and knew Bryan found a unique connection to him. One of these people, Christine, was an elderly neighbor who he dedicatedly cared for and bantered with for years. His generosity and deadpan sense of humor will be especially missed.
The rest of his family will deeply mourn and miss him as well. This includes the rabble of kids to which he was an adored uncle: Malia, Uriah, Sarina, Nathaniel, Matthew, Hunter, Reese, and Daphne. Their mothers Michelle, Patricia, and Julie, too, hold a special place in their hearts for Bryan.
Bryan was a lifelong Giants football fan, golfer, and artist. But more than anything, he loved music. During his early years in L.A., he played guitar for a band called Blacktop. He learned how to sing by belting along to Jeff Buckley and was never far from an instrument. He also collected hundreds of vinyl records.
Before his passing, he worked on a music passion project called Randomm with his close friend Greg. Greg played the drums while Bryan wrote, sang, played, and produced (skills which for him were largely self-taught). Those who knew him outside of music were surprised by the depth and range of his vocal abilities, which were a stark contrast to his usually soft-spoken demeanor.
