Christopher was born on February 9, 1954, in Hoboken, New Jersey to the late Raymond John and Georgette Winkler Martin. He worked for many years running the family owned marina and RV resort in Fort Lauderdale and later a RV park in Sebring before retiring.
Christopher leaves fond memories with is family: Andrea Martin, Richard Martin, Victoria Martin, Danielle Grossman and Tanya Canales along eight grandchildren and many extended family members and close family friends.
Celebration of Christopher’s life will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2024 at Fort Denaud Cemetery where Chaplain Angel Ramos will preside. Christopher will be laid next to his wife Paula Lynn Martin.

Cathleen was born on May 25, 1948 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to the late Lloyd and the late Yvonne M. Essig Phinney. Cathleen married William Lundy Williams and he preceded her in death on January 16, 2013. Cathleen worked for many years for the Hendry County School Board as a paraprofessional mainly working at LaBelle Elementary School. Cathleen retired from working full time in 2014. Cathleen was a member of the First Christian Church of LaBelle for many years. Cathleen enjoyed crocheting, gardening, cooking, her Breakfast Group with the retired employees of the school. She was a long time member of the Red Hat Society. Cathleen was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend who will be dearly missed by everyone who loved and cared for her.
Cathleen leaves fond memories with her children; Steven Williams and his wife Teresa of LaBelle, Florida, Shelburn Williams and his longtime companion Ester of LaBelle, Florida, six grandchildren and five great grandchildren, she also leaves fond memories with her brother; Lester Phinney and his wife Thelma of Tennessee, and brother in law; Matt McKinney.
Cathleen was preceded in death also by her son; Billy Williams, his brothers; Douglas Phinney, David Phinney, and sisters; Shirley McKinney and Sandy Searcy.
Celebration of Cathleen's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 19, 2024 at Akin-Davis Funeral Home where Pastor W.T. "Bill" Maddox, Jr will preside. Visitation will be on Thursday evening from 5-7 pm also at the Akin-Davis Funeral Home - LaBelle. Cathleen will be laid to rest next to her husband and her son in Fort Denaud Cemetery.

Wayne was born in Miami, Florida on November 14, 1949, to the late Mansol and Delores Moore Wilkins, he married Julie Craichy on July 17, 1995, in the LaBelle Assembly of God Church. Wayne owned and operated Heartland Building Company for many years before joining with Rocktide Construction. Wayne attended LaBelle Assembly of God for almost 30 years, a former Boy Scout Master, enjoyed working, building things, doing landscaping, gardening and riding his motorcycle, he was a former member of the Sons of the American Legion and Lions Club. Wayne loved to help when there was a need. He loved his community.
Wayne will be dearly missed by his family and everyone who knew and loved him.
Wayne leaves fond memories with his wife; Julie C. Wilkins of LaBelle, Florida, children; Chassey and her husband Ken, Kristopher and his wife Genifer, Matthew, Coby, Montana and her husband Ustacio, Jacqueline, four grandchildren, one great grandchild. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, and three siblings.

His life was marked by a playful and loving character, as well as a talent for weaving stories that captivated the hearts of those around him. His creative spirit was matched by a generous and caring heart, making him a treasured member of his community.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth, survived by his devoted wife and sons; his mother, Rosalía Pereiro; his father, Pedro Pereiro; and his siblings Tony Rancano, Ena Pereiro, Pedro Pereiro, Noemi Pereiro, and Priscila Pereiro. Roly's memory is preceded by his revered grandparents, Rolando Garcia, Pedro Pereiro-Cruz, and Emma Garcia.

Ed Deese and his wife Roxie, six grandchildren; Patrick Middleton, Ryan English, Laeda Middleton, Keyli Womack and Kyler Womack, Alex Middleton, one great granddaughter, Oaklynn Bryant, one nephew Jonathan and two nieces; Jennifer and Bethany, and many cousins and close friends.
Karren was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Middleton, father; Warren Deese, mother-in-law; Thelma Orwig , nephew, Rory Deese.
Karren was a loving and caring daughter, wife, mother, sister and grandmother who will be dearly missed by her entire family and everyone who knew and loved her.

Karren will be laid to rest next to her husband Robert P. Middleton, Jr in Fort Denaud Cemetery where Honor Guard Ceremony will be conducted by the Hendry County Sherriff’s Office.

She was a true family matriarch in every way. Sandy’s culinary skills were legendary, with her made-from-scratch biscuits, fried cornbread and Brunswick Stew being cherished by all.
In her free time, Sandy enjoyed cooking, reading, solving crossword puzzles and tending to her plants.
She is survived by her loving husband, William T. Milks; daughter, Theresa Milks Barber (Dave); grandchildren, Tonya Podubynskyj Wilkins (Travis), Billy Podubynskyj (Tanya), Margaret McCormick, Baylen McCormick (Alari), and Ella Barber; great-grandchildren, William T. Podubynskyj (Brianna & Cypriss), Easton Wilkins, Mia McCormick, and Teddie Jo McCormick. Obituary Preview: Thelma O’Bannon Orwig, 99 passed away peacefully February 22, 2024. Born April 14, 1924 in LaBelle Florida to Edwin Monroe O’Bannon and Lydia Maze.
Thelma remained a lifelong resident of LaBelle and was involved in many community activities and organizations. Thelma graduated from LaBelle High School where she participated in band and sports. She remained close to many of her classmates and looked forward to there yearly class reunions.
She was married to her soulmate, Harry L. Orwig Jr. for over 50 years. They were married in Carlson Memorial United Methodist Church where they both were lifetime members and also served as trustees. Her love of children led her to work in the Hendry county school system for 18 years. After her retirement she spent her time with her family and friends and especially with her grandsons Robert Patrick Middleton III and Jonathan Russell Frank. She loved to travel with her husband Harry and particularly liked vacationing at the beach with her family.
Thelma was very proud of her O’Bannon heritage. She researched her families journey from Ireland to Missouri and other parts of America. She belonged to the Okeechobee chapter of The Daughters of the American Revolution, where she was the families most direct descendent of Thomas O’Bannon MO 3rd Infantry CO.B.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Harry L. Orwig Jr., her son, Robert P. Middleton Jr, parents Edwin Monroe O’Bannon and Lydia Maze, sisters Mary Irene (Wilder), Virgie Anna O’Bannon, Ruby May (Eubanks), brothers Amos Edwin, Virgil Lester, Lloyd Monroe, Phannon and Ralph Monroe. She loved reading, gardening, crocheting, quilting, and was an accomplished baker. She loved to feed people. Friends were often greeted at their door with a cake, pie or cookies.
Thelma was a loving wife, mother, aunt, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. Thelma was an integral part of her family and she will be dearly missed.
From her daughter Susan Orwig Davidson: While going through her bible I found notes with quotes and thoughts she had written and stuck between the pages. On one particular note she had drawn a big star.
It reads: “Now not Later. I will pass through this world but once. Any good thing therefore that I can do or any kindness that I can show to any human being, let me do it now. Let me not defer it, or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again. This is the motto I try to live by 10/22/1965, Thelma O’ Orwig”. Those who know her will attest she did just that.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 4th, 2024 at Carlson Methodist Church 310 Campbell Street in LaBelle Florida. Visitation is at 10am, service will be at 11AM with burial following at Ft Denaud cemetery.

Obituary Preview: Stephen Michael Gerstman, Sr.
Stephen M. “Steve” Gerstman, was born January 9, 1947 in Ft. Myers Florida and went to heaven to join our Lord on February 14, 2024. He passed away at home with his wife in Marble, NC. Steve made great accomplishments in his life time. He was brought up in LaBelle Florida, graduated from LaBelle High School in 1966, started college, but then enlisted in the Marine Corp-Vietnam war where he served. Steve went through boot camp and through advanced infantry training in Camp Lejeune, then to Camp Pendleton for more training as a forward observer, a communicator calling in artillery as well as other training. From there he went to Hawaii with his fellow Marines and worked on his marksman skills on the firing range with iron sights. Steve outshot all the men except for one who outshot him by 2 points. Steve achieved to CPL in the Marines Corp serving in Vietnam where he sustained mortar shrapnel to the back of his head, back, and hand. Steve would speak about how he was left for dead, but once he got his bearing back because of the head wound, he crawled back for help not realizing how badly he was hurt.
After his honorable discharge from the Marines he continued his education with the United Telephone AC+DC certificate, then on to I.B.E.W for a 4-year Apprenticeship, Cross Trained in Underground 2 years, Distribution and Transmission, Avid Operator of all Heavy equipment, Instructor first Aid, CPR and Pole Top Rescue, and S&C Circuit Switch in Chicago. He worked his way up the ladder where he retired Director of Operations of Glades Electric Cooperative in 1996 and started Gerstman’s Tree service and heavy equipment where he retired in 2009. Stephen will be missed. He never met a stranger. In his younger years he was an avid game hunter. He loved his family, his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Most of all Stephen loved Jesus with his heart; he served as a Gideon as well.
In addition to his parents, Willie Gerstman and Lora Mae Cross Gerstman, Steve was preceded in death by a brother, Mancel Gerstman. He is survived by his wife of over 26 years, Joyce Gerstman, of Marble; son, Stephen Michael Gerstman, Jr., of Judith Gap, MT; daughters, Nicole Swan (Chris), of Colorado Springs, CO, Quincy Diane Queen, of Andrews; sisters, Sherry Wood, of Lightfoot, VA, Sheila Sheltra, of LaBelle, FL; grandchildren, Justin Gerstman (Christina), Kyle Pierce (Melissa), Morgan Baddeley (Thomas), Elliot Pierce (Sydney); great-grandchildren, Lilly Wirka, Norah Pierce, Winston Pierce, Luna Pierce; several step-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Graveside funeral services with military honors will be held Friday, February 23, 11:30 AM, the Pavillion at Ortona Cemetery in Moore Haven, FL. Pastor Bill Maddox officiating.
The family will receive friends 11:00-11:30 AM at the cemetery prior to the service.

Paul George Kraft - July 20, 1939 - February 10, 2024

Obituary Preview: Paul Kraft, age 84 of LaBelle. FL passed away at his home with his loving wife at his side on February 10, 2024. Paul was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA to the late Paul G and Dorothy Franklin Kraft. Paul proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, he worked for Diamond State Telephone Company. He opened and owned PK Restaurant and Silver Server Catering/Accent Tent and Rentals. Paul married Carol Graf and moved to Florida in 2003 after his stroke in 2001. Paul never let his disabilities define him. He gave back to LaBelle by volunteering at Kiwanis, Salvation Army, ringing he bell and meal on wheels.
He enjoyed his car shows and winning various awards and trophies. One of his joys was organizing a summer reunion for Salesianum Class of 57.
Paul leaves behind great memories with his loving wife; Carol Kraft of LaBelle, FL his two sons Chris and Ken with former wife Jackie, along with dear friends in Delaware and Florida.
A celebration of life will be schedule June in Delaware.

To this union there are two daughters and one stepdaughter. Tony worked for many years as a carpenter before becoming disabled and not being able to continue his profession. Tony enjoyed riding motorcycles, shopping for antiques, making jewelry and finding gemstones. He was a member of the American Legion Post 130 of LaBelle. Tony enjoyed spending time with his wife and his family, he will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
Tony leaves fond memories with his loving wife; Cheryll Ann Brooks of LaBelle, mother; Mildred Frances Brooks of South Haven, Michigan, Daughters; Danielle Brooks-Jones of Lehigh Acres, April Brooks of LaBelle and Teresa Lampp of Jacksonville. He also leaves behind ten grandchildren and three sisters, Edith Brooks, Tammy Viganski, and Judy Raymond.
Tony’s life will be celebrated on Monday, January 22, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Christ Central Church with Pastor Mitchell Wills officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service also at the church. Tony will be laid to rest at Fort Denaud Cemetery – LaBelle.

Graveside service celebrating her life will be held Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at the Pavilion in Ortona Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Ortona Cemetery after the celebration of life service.

He worked as a corrections officer for the state State of Florida for many years after the serving in the military, retiring in 2010. He married Nancy D. Minimi in Sunrise, Florida on July 10, 1982. Earle and Nancy were members of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in LaBelle. Earle enjoyed hunting, fishing and anything to do with the outdoors. Earle was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother who will be dearly missed by everyone who loved and knew him. Earle leaves fond memories with his loving wife; Nancy Wilson of LaBelle, Florida, his children; Alvie McAvoy and her husband Chris and Earle Davies Wilson, III and his wife Alexandra along with two adorable grandchildren; Molly and Emma, Earle also leaves fond memories with his sister Susan Williams and her husband Michael. He was pre-deceased by his brother Fredrick Wilson. Obituary Preview: Fedencia N. Rouse of Labelle, Fl passed away suddenly on December 17th 2023. Succumbing to injuries sustained while in a motor vehicle accident alongside her beloved husband, who joined her in meeting the Lord a mere two weeks later. She was 95 years old.
Fedencia was born to Lillian E. Reid and Victor E. Powells in Thomas US Virgin Island on November 16th 1928. She was the second of their three children (all deceased).
In her mid-twenties, she left St. Thomas in pursuit of a more promising future for New York City. Later joined by her mother Lilly, sister Dagmar (deceased), and her son Lloyd. In her early fifties, she met and married Keith C. Rouse. And they lived happily in Queens, New York before retiring together to Labelle in 1995.
Fedencia was dearly loved. Not only was she a mother to her son, but she was also Auntie Den Den, Auntie Dencie, and of course, Auntie to her four nieces and nephews. And she was a doting grandmother to Shalema.
Quiet and God-loving, Den Den enjoyed reading and studying her bible, taking long walks, and doing beadwork. And there was never a stray cat in her presence that went unfed or uncared for. Known for her humor, her directness, and her honesty she, along with her husband Keith, has been a faithful member of The Labelle Church of God since moving to La Belle.
She was a dedicated and efficient worker. Hardly taking days off or vacationing. One could set a clock by her. However, she valued time spent outside of work with her family even more. Upon retirement, she and Keith rarely sat still enjoying traveling the country and enjoying life together.
Mrs. Fedencia Rouse is survived by her son Lloyd E. Spooner, her granddaughter Shalema Spooner. Kathleen Rodriguez (niece), Gary Santos (nephew), Doug Santos (nephew), Willford Powells (nephew), Jasmin Rodrigues (niece) and Christopher Rodriguez (nephew). And numerous additional great nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her loyal cat Tiger who misses her dearly.
Services for both Fedencia and Keith Rouse will be held on Saturday, January 27th at The Labelle Church of God in Labelle: 590 E. Hickpochee Ave.
Viewing will begin at 10 am, immediately followed by funeral services.
