Deborah M. Berlino - June 02, 1954 - March 23, 2022

Departed: 03/23/2022 (Wynantskill)
Obituary Preview: Deborah “Alice” Marro Berlino, age 67, passed peacefully into eternal life on Wednesday March 23, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Debbie courageously fought a 3-year battle with Glioblastoma Multiforme and beat the odds for quite awhile.
Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Sebastian (Sonny) Marro, and the recently deceased Theresa Cerqua Marro. Debbie attended St. Mary’s Troy elementary school and graduated from Catholic Central High School, Class of 1972. We think she was the only one who wasn’t afraid of the principal. Debbie’s career included Prudential Insurance Co., City of Troy (Secretary to the City Manager), CSEA, Troy Police Dept (assistant to the chief and the Special Operations Section) and the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s office.                                                                                                        Debbie enjoyed Saratoga racetrack. You never knew where she was going to sneak into. You could find her at Rachel Alexandra‘s stall, the Paddock, the Winners circle and stalking Tom Durkin. Debbie was an accomplished, self-taught, tap dancer and harmonica player. She would serenade family with a special birthday solo. Debbie was a composer of short jingles, many of which got her in trouble with her parents, but her siblings applauded her.  She also enjoyed Grand Mariner, Colt 45, west coast rap, and calling out “3000!”
Debbie loved her family above all else. She is survived by her son Joseph. They had a mother-son bond like no other. She also is survived by Her daughter-in-law Heather and her three precious grandchildren Hudson, Berkeley and Juliet. Her “A” team was the reason that she met this disease head on.
Debbie is survived, and will be missed dearly, by her siblings; Patti (Greg) Owens, Francie Horton (Rich Green), Terri (Bob) Rinchik, Mary (Angelo) Miele, Tina (George) Zeh, Dominic “Dom the Bomb”, and David “Davey John”. She is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous friends who stood by her through her journey. Debbie was overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support that she received. She was humbly appreciative.
Debbie would like her Short 5th Ave cohorts and siblings to remember the fun and laughs we had growing up…Kick ball, Streetlight, Spud, Dodgeball, Lemon Pledge, Mae Doney, Bobby Orr, Beat the Heat, The family would like to give a special word of thanks to her ex-husband, but good friend, Joseph Berlino, for his loving care and support that he provided to the very end. He holds a special part in our hearts.
Thank you to all of the doctors who helped her win this battle for so long, especially the staff at St. Peter’s hospital and Sunnyview Rehab.  And always remember, “there’s no crying in baseball” and Never give up.
Family and friends are invited and may call from 9:00 am to 10:30 on Monday March 28, 2022 at St. Anthony Church 28 State Street, Troy, NY. Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 am at church.

Theodore "Ted" Baldwin - January 08, 1933 - March 10, 2022

Departed: 03/10/2022 (Wynantskill)
Obituary Preview: WATERFORD, Theodore (Ted) Baldwin, of Bells Lane, died on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at Samaritan Hospital. Born in Troy, January 8, 1933. Ted was the son of the late Howard R. Baldwin and Geneva M. Oatman Baldwin Cioffi of Berlin.
Ted was a lifelong resident of the area and proud to be the oldest of 7 boys, known in the area as the “Baldwin Brothers”. He was known by many for his racing at Pine Bowl Speedway, Menands Speedway, and Lebanon Valley Speedway.
If you knew Ted, you knew he was world-renowned for his lack of patience, not holding back his opinion and a knack for telling it like it is. He always told you the truth even if it wasn’t what you wanted to hear.
It was the school of hard knocks and yes, we were told many times how he had to walk for miles in a blizzard to get to school or to bring the horse(s) to water.
With that said he was genuine to a fault, a pussy cat at heart (or lion) and yet he sugar-coated nothing.  His extensive vocabulary was more than highly proficient at knowing more curse words than most people learned in a lifetime.
He loved and was proud of his business, Ted Baldwin’s Gulf, on Spring Ave., in Troy, with Keith, Jeff and Todd as his “employees”, when child labor was legal and they should just be glad they had the opportunity to be learning from him, or so they were told. But honestly, he loved and appreciated them, more than words can say, and he considered them his best friends. He also really loved the many days and nights that were spent making memories and stories with his sons, brothers and friends. If this is making you reminisce, then you know you were one of the special people.
We will sadly miss the boisterous stories he would tell of the brothers growing up along with the stories of “the garage” and “the mountain”.
In addition to racing, Ted enjoyed his coins, antiques, and animals. He was an avid NASCAR fan, and a Western & War movie buff. However, his greatest treasures are those who called him “Pop Pop”.
Survivors include his beloved partner, of 30 years, Muriel (Mert) Oswald, of Waterford; his children, Ted (Joanna, Joanne, Michelle) Baldwin, Jr. of Troy, Todd Baldwin of Troy, Deb (Jeff) Reilly of Brunswick, Patty (Kurt) Dobkins of Ohio, Keith Luce who worked along-side of him, in his early years, and who he loved like a son, along with many grandchildren: Jessica, Jennifer and Nickolas Baldwin; Storm and Trish Baldwin; Samantha and Thane Reilly; Tara, Kyle, Paige and Haylee Dobkins; one brother, Jack of Florida; along with many nieces and nephews who take great pleasure in loving memories of their “Uncle Ted”.
He was predeceased by wives Jean (West), and Margaret (“Peggy” Ridgeway); his son Tad E. Baldwin; his brothers Howard (Inky), George, Lawrence, William and James; and his grand-daughter Ashley Rose.
