Catherine Elizabeth Gibson - April 15, 1937 - April 03, 2024

Departed: 04/03/2024 (Rome)
Obituary Preview: Ms. Catherine Elizabeth Gibson so gracefully and peacefully transitioned from this world to her eternal place in glory on Wednesday, April 3, 2024. Lizzie, known by most, was born April 15, 1937. As earthly plans were being made to celebrate her 87th birthday in a couple of days, heavenly plans were being made to invite her to her eternal celebration in Glory.
Ms. Gibson was born and raised in Floyd County. As a young adult, Ms. Gibson left Rome but returned in later years. Catherine joined and quickly became a devoted member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. While at Pleasant Grove, she served effortlessly to help build God's kingdom through the various ministries within the church. She spent her professional career in school nutrition where she retired from the Rome City Schools System.
Lizzie, known by most was soft spoken but could be a quiet storm if she needed to be. She found her most joy in serving others. Sunday dinners after church were truly her SOUL's FOOD. She will be remembered mostly for her support and dedication to those she loved. Her loyalty went beyond measure. She loved her family and friends dearly. Her desire to hug and kiss upon greetings and departure was her signature of how much she loved you. Because she was very private by nature, she epitomized "take it to the lord in prayer". She was not one to share or give her opinion unless asked. She solved her problems with what she called " A Little Talk With JC". Her level of faith was relentless and served as spiritual confirmation for those that knew her.
The family of Ms. Catherine Elizabeth Gibson would like to thank those of you that visited and made her new residence at the local nursing facility a new adventure. No formal service or ceremony will be conducted.

Baby, Ahnyla Nicole Beeman-Davis - March 19, 2024 - March 29, 2024

Departed: 03/29/2024 (Rome)
Obituary Preview: We respectfully announce the passing of baby, Ahnyla Nicole Beeman-Davis, precious baby girl of Kelsey Beeman and David Davis on Friday, March 29, 2024 at a local hospital. Services honoring her life will be held 1:00 P.M. on Friday, April, 5, 2024 at The Relevant Church (located at First United Methodist Church, 202 East 3rd Ave. Rome, Georgia) with Pastor H. Bernard Young delivering the eulogy. Final resting place and internment will follow at Floyd Memory Garden.
Immediately after internment the family welcomes friends for repast at Sandra D. Hudson Villas Community Room, 601 Michael Taylor Ln.
On March 29, 2024, our sweet princess and angel, Ahnyla Nicole Davis, peacefully transitioned into the arms of our Heavenly Father. We had the pleasure of being honored with her beautiful presence for ten miraculous days that we would not trade for anything in this world.
The number "10" is a number of trial, testing, divine order, and completeness that happens during a course of time. God had these number of days timed according to His will. He knew that this would be a trying and testing time for us. He knew that, in His Divine Order, Ahnyla was in His good hands. He also knew that during the course of time we had with her, the completeness of His will, not ours, would be done. Ahnyla was a fighter! She came out crying and swinging. She fought through her struggle of breathing. She fought through the tubes. She fought through the needles, and she even fought, the nurse practioner, "Jesse." She would squeeze our fingers to let us know she is fighting. After all is said and done, one thing is for sure--it was a "FIXED" fight! Our "Nyla Bug" had already conquered and won!
She leaves this earth to join the heavenly circle of her paternal grandparent: Leon Staples; great-grandparents: Amos Davis and Judy Stewart; maternal great-grandparents: Geraldine Riley, Martha Joe Beeman, and Mack Beeman, Sr. She is survived by her loving parents: David Davis and Kelsey Beeman; siblings: Dai'nesti Davis; grandparents: Rickey (Elaina) Beeman and Anita Davis; great-grandparents: Louise Davis and James Riley; aunts & uncles: Rachael Beeman, Malik Gleaves, Anna Leek, Tonesa (Joel) Moore, Teresa (Joshua Sr.) Hayes, Daylan Davis, Anthony Roberts, Dana Taylor; special sister/friend: Jie
Homes and Megan Kent; and other relatives and friends also survive. Please keep the Beeman and Davis family in your prayers

Mr. Billy P. Powell was born November 19, 1949 through the union of Mr. Laylus Powell and Mrs. Josephine Brown.
He accepted Christ at an early age and joined Thankful Baptist Church. He was educated at Bethune High School, graduating in 1967. He was called to service in the United States Army, 25th Infantry Division, in August 1969. He served in the Army for two years, including combat duty in Viet Nam where he was wounded. He was honorably released from the Army in April 1971, at which point he returned home to Piedmont Alabama. He attended Gadsden State University earning certification in Automotive Technology and Woodworking. His military injuries and other health issues caused him to retire from work in 2010. A totally unexpected turn of events occurred in December 2013 when he reconnected with the love of his life, Nancy Wright. While we had a short time together, we loved each other enough for a lifetime.
He leaves to morn his wife Nancy Wright, sisters, Shelby (Brad) Power, Dorothy (Tyrone) Ware, Eloise Brown, Pauline Jenkins; brothers, Albert Lee (Judy) Powell, Gaston Powell, and Joe Paul Brown.
