Departed: 08/03/2021 (Jay)
Obituary Preview: Tommie Sue Duffield Marshall was born on February 8, 1945 in Vinita, Oklahoma to her parents, Allie Mary (Susie) Baker Duffield and Thomas (Tom) Duffield. She left this world peacefully on her mother’s birthday, surrounded by her loving family, on August 3, 2021. Tommie Sue worked full-time while studying to become a teacher and eventually earned her Master’s degree. She had a long, rich career as a beloved teacher for more than 41 years. She touched thousands of students’ lives with her care, compassion, and loving concern. She taught summer school, homeschooled many students, and lead students in countless endeavors as a 4-H leader for many years. She was an advocate for her students not only while they were in her classroom but also supported them in all stages of their lives. She was a teacher until the end; always correcting her kids’ grammar, helping her grandkids with their homework, and helping her great nieces and nephews with their education. She even opened her home to exchange students from Colombia and Japan for several years, making them a part of her family. She truly made a difference in the lives of all she knew; her fingerprint will never fade from the lives she touched. She was an avid gardener, teaching her kids the importance of work ethic with the enormous task of caring for 200 tomato plants every summer. More than anything she loved her flowers. There was never a nursery she could drive by without stopping for just a few more flowers. She showed her love best by feeding her family and loved ones; she was an amazing cook and was always on the search for another delicious recipe. Her chicken fried steak and from-scratch biscuits and gravy were out of this world. Her other passions were crafting, quilting, and scrapbooking. She was the Oklahoma City Thunders' biggest fan during the Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook era. Her lifetime of love and kindness will be remembered and dearly missed by everyone who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents Allie Mary (Susie) Baker Duffield and Thomas (Tom) Duffield as well as her brother-in-law Garland Lane. She is survived by her children: Clinton and wife Robin Marshall of Eucha, Ok., Shala Marshall of Tulsa, Ok.; and Shanna and husband Phil Willis of Verden, Ok. She also leaves aunts Patsy Campbell, Micci Mulcare, Bonnie Area, and Juanita Robertson, numerous nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and great nephews who always helped her with projects around the home. Her love leaves a memory that no one can steal. She will be deeply missed but we rejoice in her reunion with her parents. A come and go visitation will be held on Sunday, August 8 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Worley-Luginbuel funeral home in Jay, Ok. Jacob Len Sanders - September 07, 1975 - April 21, 2021

Departed: 04/21/2021 (Jay)
Obituary Preview: Jacob Len Sanders "Alec" was born on Sunday, Sept 7, 1975 to Johnson and Sherlene Sanders. He took his heavenly flight home on Wed April 21, 2021 at the age of 45.
Growing up he was a kid of many adventures. As he, his brothers and friends rode bikes roaming the dirt roads that Leach, America had to offer trying to find the best swimming spot to only end up at Blue Hole in Rocky Ford. His first 2 high school years were spent at Oaks Mission High School where he excelled in football and made some memories with his big brother Ju-Di on the field. He then attended Sequoyah High School, where he made numerous life-long friends who he graduated with in 1994.
During his lifetime he has lived in many places and met so many people along the way. He worked at a few known places most remember him from the casino life or as a bouncer at the Electric Cowboy. Alec was a true Texas Longhorns fan and made sure everybody knew it. He spent many years waiting for Big Foot to make his way out of the woods, he just knew he was real. He loved music of all genres. He took interest in playing the guitar, bass that is. In his younger days Alec and Andy O'Leary were the next Skid Row. He took up the drums and they set it off.
His best memories come from his 5 kids. He loved them so much. More than they will ever know. You were all on his mind every second of the days. Every accomplishment whether big or small he was proud of you. Strive to succeed in all you do and remember he's always with you every step of the way.
We will miss his humor, his laugh, and especially that clearing of his throat right before he was fixing to talk your head off. One of the best memories most of us will remember is the pictures he sent of the infamous mullet. May he find Heaven's most precious mullet as he arrived. His last days were spent at his big brother Ju-Di-Eg's and also made a point to visit with each sibling before his flight home. To his friends whether new or old had that special place in his heart may you cherish each memory and moment, also cherish your loved ones. Life is filled with unpredictable moments.
Alec joins 1 son in heaven, Trinity Little Elk-Sanders. He leaves 3 sons and 1 daughter. River Len and Javan Ray Sanders of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Raylan Sanders of Fort Smith, Arkansas, and Kendra Wakolee of Kansas, Oklahoma.
