Born September 1, 1951, in York, a daughter of the late Charles I. and Edna (Eichelberger) Bowers, she retired from York College where she worked in food service 17 years, and prior to that had worked at The Colonial Coffee Shop, Porky’s Downtown York, Tally House in the former York Mall, and Pantry Pride Grocery Store. She was a former member of Loyal Order of the Moose, and Fraternal Order of Eagles.
In addition to her husband of 53 years, Mrs. Altland is survived by a son, Timothy E. Altland (Charlene) of York; two daughters, Jennifer L. Banta (Ronald) of York and Amy S. Breighner (Rickie) of York; eight grandchildren, Timmy, Camille, Andrew, Christopher, Benjamin, Emily, Jada, and Anthony; two step grandchildren, Jonathan and Thomas; a great granddaughter, Marisa; a sister, Sandra Motter, of Dover; and her Golden Retriever, Coffee. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles F. Bowers, Jr. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM

She is survived by a son, Bruce Diffenderfer, of York; three daughters, Pam Stabley (Wes), of Manchester, Kim Aldinger (Stu), of York, and Janet Shelley (Tom), of Seven Valleys; nine grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and six great great grandchildren.  She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Quance.

Flinchbaugh, and his wife Wendy; three great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Donald R. Wagner.

Born November 13, 1956, in York, a daughter of the late Jesse Danfelt and Darlene (Lightner) Wolf and step daughter of the late Dale Wolf, she retired from patient registration at York Hospital where she worked for 34 years. She was an avid dog lover especially of Lil Bit and Teenie. Mrs. Myers was a 1974 graduate of Spring Grove Area High School and enjoyed playing bingo, jigsaw puzzles, coloring, going to the beach and going on cruises.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Myers is survived by two daughters, Heather A. Duncan and her husband Steven, of Mount Wolf and Stacy S. Gilbert; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

He was a PIAA basketball and football official, a member of the York White Rose Softball League and Pleasureville Central League Baseball. He also enjoyed holidays and reunions with family.
Mr. Schwartz is survived by a brother, Barry L. Schwartz and his wife Nancy, of York; a niece, Michelle Burk; a nephew, Michael Schwartz; great nieces and nephews and many loving cousins.
A graveside service is scheduled for 11:00 AM Monday, April 4, 2022 at Prospect Hill Cemetery, 700 North George Street, York with the Reverend Danielle Neff officiating. Obituary Preview: Albert H. Shaffer, age 85, of York, died at 2:09 PM Monday, March 14, 2022 at his residence. He was the husband of Patricia A. Shaffer for 64 years.
Born December 6, 1936, in York, the son of the late Paul and Julia (Richcreek) Shaffer, he was a graduate of York High and later retired from West York School District.
Albert has served with the York City Department of Fire/Rescue Services since 1952. He is a Captain Emeritus of the Laurel Fire Company #1. He was a life member of all nine fire companies in the City of York. He has held almost every office with the Laurel Fire Company and has held elected positions with the F.P.F.C. and Firemen’s Relief Associations. Albert volunteered his many talents with the York County Fire Museum. He was very active at the local, county and state levels in Fire Service. He was a life member of the Vigilant Social Club.
He was instrumental with the purchase, development and operation of the current York City Service #99 from the beginning when it was designated Car#45. He operated the vehicle until his recent illness. He served on the York Fair Fire Department and was the night shift commander for many years.
His long and dedicated service was highlighted by several awards, too many to list, but includes: Volunteer Firefighter of the Year in 1992 and again in 2006. (The only member to receive the award twice) He was awarded a Letter of Commendation for his actions at a fire in 1996. He also received a Letter of Recognition in 2019. The Knights of Columbus recognized him twice for his volunteer work and he received an “Excellent Service Award” from the York County Heritage Trust for his work at the York County Fire Museum. He assisted with every single committee or project with the fire department for over 6 decades; nothing was done without Albert assisting. Albert mentored many young men who became firefighters both volunteer and career.
Albert could be found at a fire station or the fire museum 7 days a week and his contributions are limitless. His work has left a lasting impression on the fire service, especially in the City of York.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Shaffer is survived by a daughter, Peggy S. Shaffer, of York; a granddaughter, Amanda Skipper, a great grandson, Ryder Funk and numerous nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by a son, Albert H. Shaffer, Jr.

(Hovis) Ludwig, he was retired from Verizon, where he had worked in business technology.   He was an active member of Stillmeadow Church of the Nazarene, where he participated in the Tuesday evening “Man Cave” men’s group, as well as the “Dudes and Food” breakfast group, The Stillmeadow Drama Team, and was involved with the church Volleyball and Softball league.  He also traveled to Jamaica, the Dominican Republic, and Costa Rica for annual Mission trips, and had served as a youth group leader.  In earlier years he was a coach for West Manchester Township Baseball, and York County Soccer, and was also a Cub Scout Leader.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Ludwig is survived by two sons, Robert R. Ludwig, and his wife Heather, of Pittsburgh and Benjamin B. Ludwig, and his fiancé Mandy Hershey, of York; three grandchildren, Rylee, Brynn and Laiklyn; a brother, Jeffrey A. Ludwig, and his wife Jennifer, of York, and a sister, Diane L. Gardner-Wilson, York.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Thursday, March 17, 2022 at Stillmeadow Church of the Nazarene, 400 Stillmeadow Lane, York, with Pastor Josh Kleinfeld officiating. Mrs. Stough took great pride in her family and home.
Mrs. Stough is survived by two daughters, Sandra E. Norris and her husband Edward, of Red Lion and Susanne M. McComas and her husband Thomas, of York; four grandchildren, Rebecca L Bolton and her husband Jason, Amy L. Dively and her husband Adam, Sean McComas and his wife Leah and Chris McComas and his companion Stephanie; and eight great grandchildren, Micah, Andrew and Kara Bolton, Makenna and Reagan Dively, Hunter Zrinski, and Mia and Caroline McComas. She was also preceded in death by two infant sons and two brothers, Alvin and Arthur Sipe.

He was born in Johnstown, PA on January 24, 1929, a son of the late Chalmer and Virginia (Smith) Heinz. He graduated in the class of 1948 from William Penn High School. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged. He was manager of Investor Loan Company of Gettysburg and then as a truck driver, retiring from St. Johnsburg Trucking Company in 1993. Dick enjoyed antique cars, working in the yard, watching western movies, was a fan of Penn State Football and was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in York.
Dick is survived by three sons, Gary Heinz of San Carlos, California, Keith Heinz of York and Scott (Molly) Heinz of Bronxville, New York and two grandchildren, Zane and Sonora. He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Sue (Martin) Heinz; a brother, David Heinz and a sister-in-law, Bonnie Heinz.

Born September 30, 1923, in York, she was raised in the small rural town of Manchester during the Great Depression. She married her husband David when she was 17 years old. Together they had three children and lived in the suburbs of York. After Dave passed away, she worked at Record Club of America and Danskin. At age 95, Betty moved to Masonicare Senior Community in Mystic, Connecticut after her son Jim passed away. Betty loved dogs, reading, gardening, listening to music and watching movies with good stories. Betty was renowned for her chicken corn soup. She was also a former member of St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Furst is survived by a daughter, Annette G. Fried (Gerald), of Medford, Oregon; a son, Mark A. Furst (Jane Purtill), of Pawcatuck, Connecticut; four grandchildren, Amy Munoz, David Fried, Tiffany Oviatt, and Lindsay Booz; five great grandchildren, Jordan, Tyler, Ilana, Anabel and Axel; and a sister, Helen Gieselman. She was also preceded in death by a son, James D. Furst; a brother, William Stambaugh; and two sisters, Beatrice Miller and Jean Fair.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Landis is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Clarence E. Small and three sisters, Evelyn E. Pauling, Doris Small and Helen Myers.

Mrs. Hinderer is survived by two sons, Brian L. Hinderer, and his wife Brenda, of Dallastown, and Bradley L. Hinderer, and his wife Jerri, of Hanover; a daughter, Wendy J. Lane, and her husband James, Jr., of York; seven grandchildren, Brandon, Robert, Duane, Alex, Hollie, James, III and Brett; twelve great grandchildren; two brothers, Terry and Steve Fuhrman, both of York; and a sister Linda Stambaugh, of York. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Lavere “Duck” Fuhrman; and a sister, Nancy Mathison.
Elaine was a sweet woman, always putting others needs before her own. She especially loved hosting her family and friends at Thanksgiving and Christmas.  She volunteered for many Church activities over the years and served on the ladies auxiliary of Friendship Fire Company.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Mount Zion Lutheran Church, 2164 Mount Zion Road, York, with her Pastor, The Reverend Brian McClinton, officiating.
