Obituary Preview: Pearl Parris Champion, 88, a beloved wife, caring mother, and cherished member of the community passed away peacefully on February 6, 2024 at Peak Resources. She was born in Clover, South Carolina on December 23, 1935 and is the daughter of the late Ruby Walker Parris Moose.
She was a former employee of Smyre Plant of Carolina Mills, where she was the Editor for the Carolina Mills Employee newspaper.
She was a devoted Christian and is a member of West Cramerton Baptist Church. Pearl took pride in everything she attempted to the best of her ability.
She was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and she is loved by so many and will truly be deeply missed by so many.
Pearl leaves to cherish her memories, her two loving daughters, Patti Miller, Sandra Johnson; former son-in-law, Ronald Sauder; three loving grandchildren, Jason Miller (Amy), Chris Johnson, Lindsey Bost (Brandon); four loving great grandchildren, Alyssa Miller, Alayna Miller, Jordan Miller, Jeremiah McMullen.
The family will receive family and friends from 1:00 until 2:00p.m., Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life Service at 2:00 p.m., Saturday at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will follow in the Garden of Time Section of Gaston Memorial Park with the Releasing of the Doves.

Born on June 8, 1953, in Gaston County, North Carolina, Gerrel was the son of Robert Eugene Patterson and Vergie Bowen Patterson.
Gerrel enjoyed fishing at McAdenville Lake and hanging out at the McAdenville Fire Department and being a volunteer fireman years ago. He was a member of the Riverside Baptist Church. He worked in sales most of his life.
Gerrel is survived by his beloved sister, Judy Wilkinson; his niece, Kim Rodden and her husband Wayne, and their girls, Hailey and Hannah.

He was born in Lake County, Indiana on November, 28 1961 to the late Ralph and Phyllis McHargue. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Mark McHargue.
Todd dedicated 24 years to serving his country as a Master Chief in the US Navy, working as a cryptologist. After retiring from the Navy he worked for Northup Grumman as a project manager. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and was an avid boater. He liked to coach and was a huge Notre Dame fan and was all things Chicago Cubs and Bears. Most of all he loved his sons and his family.
He is survived by his sons, Brennon McHargue (Makenzie) and Dillon McHargue (Catherine); brother, Jay McHargue; sisters, Cheryl Alt (Dave), Renee Hinson (Walt), Dawn McCulloch (Jim) and LaRue Francesconi (Bob); and his granddaughter, Payton McHargue.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Friday February 2, 2023 at Queen of the Apostles Catholic Church, 503 N. Main Street, in Belmont, NC. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the Church.

She nurtured them with unwavering love and support as they grew into remarkable individuals.
Linda's love extended beyond her immediate family. She adored her grandchildren Kylan Atwell, Nakyla Coleman, and Kamdyn Coleman with all her heart. She took pleasure in being their source of wisdom and guidance. In addition to family life, Linda embraced various hobbies that brought fulfillment to her days. Playing bingo was one of her favorite pastimes; the thrill of each game had an uncanny ability to bring out her competitive spirit. She also found solace in shopping adventures which brought joy not only to herself but also those around her. And it was in the walls of the church where Linda sought solace in spiritual fulfillment.
A social butterfly by nature, Linda built deep connections with those around her. Her sisters Mary Ann, Donna, Lynette, and Jackie offered unbreakable bonds rooted in love and shared experiences. Janet Hughes, Cheryl Ferguson, and Rev. Steve and Edna Fletcher held a special place in Linda's heart as they walked through life hand in hand, supporting one another through thick and thin. As we bid farewell to Linda, we celebrate a life lived to the fullest, one that touched the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will forever be etched in our minds as a testament to love, kindness, and unwavering devotion.
Linda Leclaire Cabaniss leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire and guide us. Catherine was a member of 7th Avenue Baptist Church and president of Old Stone Bank in Asheville and later retired from BB&T Bank after many years. She enjoyed being in the mountains and lived her life to the fullest. Catherine was known to sleep late and was never on time but was always the life of the party. She loved her dogs, Penny, Maggie, Banjo, and Buddy. Catherine leaves many happy memories to be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her brothers, Mike Medlin (Brenda) and Tim Medlin (Vickie); caregiver, Danny Medlin, Jr. and Tammy Bentley; and her numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather for a Visitation at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, January 28, 2024 followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m., at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home.

Franny was married to Walter Mazur for 57 years before his passing in 2015. Franny is preceded in death by her parents, and nine siblings. She is survived by her youngest sister Theresa Smalley of Gastonia, NC as well as many nieces and nephews.
Franny was a long-time member of St. Valentines Catholic Church where she was married and remained an active member until its closing in 2007. Franny enjoyed singing in the choir, gardening, and various volunteer roles. She was a dedicated homemaker who kept a meticulous house and cookies on hand when family or friends came to visit. Franny’s large extended family has fond memories of rambunctious card games and fun gatherings at her house. Franny was an especially kind, sweet, and humble person. She was a devout Catholic.
A funeral Mass will be held in Buffalo, NY on May 17, 2024, and internment at St. Matthews Cemetery, West Seneca, NY with more specific details to follow.

Miranda's life was filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories that will be forever treasured by those who knew her Miranda was born on September 23, 1959, in Gaston County, North Carolina. From an early age, she exhibited a warm and caring nature that endeared her to everyone she met. A true family woman, Miranda dedicated her life to creating a loving environment for her loved ones. Throughout her life, Miranda found joy in simple pleasures. She enjoyed her fur babies, Cooper and Gunner. They brought great happiness to her and James.
On January 22, 2024, surrounded by her family, Miranda peacefully passed away at CaroMont Regional Medical Center. While her departure has Miranda's proudest accomplishments were not found in material possessions or accolades but in the love and care, she bestowed upon her family. She leaves behind a legacy of unwavering devotion and support that will forever guide those who were fortunate enough to know her.
She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, James Meeks; their daughter Nicole Meeks; daughter-in-law Gina Meeks; beautiful grandchildren Dallas, Diego, Elijah, and Makayla; and great-grandchildren Ayla and Kashton. Her memory will also be cherished by her mother Patricia Jackson and step-father Larry Jackson.
Miranda's impact extended beyond immediate family members. She is preceded in death by her beloved son, Josh Meeks, including her beloved sisters, Leslie Jackson and Sissy Penley.
To honor Miranda's life, a series of events have been planned. The visitation will take place on January 26, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Iron Station located at 2583 Will Schronce Road, Iron Station, NC, 28080. Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life will be held at Iron Station Missionary Church from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Interment at Hardin Community Cemetery in Dallas, NC at 2:00 PM. Miranda Friday Meeks' vibrant spirit touched the lives of everyone she encountered. She brought love and light into the world, and her memory will forever inspire those who carry it within them. As we mourn her loss, let us also celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the everlasting impact she has made in our hearts. May she rest in eternal peace. Linda was an avid reader and enjoyed medical mysteries. In her free time, she liked to sit on her front porch watching traffic go by and listening to stories about her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Above all else, she loved her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Stephanie Nuhrah (Chip) and Shelly Lofton (David); grandchildren, Moriah Nuhrah and Brittany Lofton (Nick); great-grandchildren, Gianna Rae Burgan and Graylyn Wren Burgan; and her special friends, Linda and Boyce Moose.

He was born on September 22, 1925, in Denton, North Carolina, to Dock Van Lanier and Nannie Carrick Lanier, and grew up in the Durham/Morrisville, North Carolina area. In addition to his wife Faye, Roland is predeceased by his parents; siblings Johnie P. Lanier, Chinnis D. Lanier, Virginia Dare Lanier, Charlotte L. Dellinger, Pearl L. Fowler, and Hattie Lee L. Nolan; and grandson, David G. Rhinehart.
Roland shared a beautiful life journey with his beloved wife, Faye Weisner Lanier, for an incredible 78 years until her passing on January 3rd, 2024. Their enduring love and unconditional support were the foundation of their family's happiness. Roland and Faye were blessed with two sons - R. Vann Lanier Jr and David Samuel Lanier - who both found strength and guidance in their parents' unwavering love throughout their lives. They will forever cherish the memories they made as a family. Faith and family were the most important aspects of growing up in the Lanier household. In addition to being a devoted father, Roland was also a proud and attentive grandfather and great-grandfather. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren held a special place in his heart and brought him immeasurable joy. They, as well as their parents, all basked in the generosity of his love, laughter, and warm hugs.
A man of service and dedication, Roland proudly served our country during WWII in the United States Navy on a destroyer escort (USS Stafford DE411) in the Pacific conflicts. His commitment to his country was emblematic of his strong character and selflessness. After his honorable military service, Roland went on to build a successful career as an accountant with Public Service Gas Company for over 46 years. Rolands service leadership left a lasting impact on those with whom he worked. As a member of West Avenue Presbyterian Church for nearly 60 years, he was very active serving in many capacities. His faithful years as an elder and Sunday school teacher, as well as his work with the Presbytery, are a few examples of his strong faith and commitment to his Lord. He was involved for many years with the Civitan Club of Gastonia and the Gaston Cancer Society, serving many roles, including President and Board Chair.
Roland's sense of humor, laughter, and warm presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy as a devoted husband, loving father, and adoring grandfather and great-grandfather will live on in the hearts and minds of his surviving family and friends. Left to cherish his memory is his devoted family, R. Vann Lanier, Jr and wife Sharon, David Samuel Lanier and wife Lucy; grandchildren, Chrissy Lanier Wright and husband Wes, Matthew R. Lanier, granddaughter-in-law, Tonya Rhinehart; great-grandchildren, Sarah, Rachel, Preston, Morgan, and Brittany; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
In honor of Rolands memory, his family kindly requests that donations be made to a local charity, such as the Sleep in Heavenly Peace-NC-Belmont, 5066 Marci Lane, Belmont, NC 28012, or Cancer Services of Gaston County, 306 South Columbia Street, Gastonia, NC 28054, honoring his life-long passion for making sacrifices and being a positive influence in the lives of others.

Rachel Horton Lewis - May 22, 1942 - January 12, 2024

Obituary Preview: Rachel Horton Lewis, beloved wife, mother, granna, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her residence in Dallas, North Carolina on January 12, 2024. She was born on May 22, 1942, in Gaston County, North Carolina to the late Mark David Horton and Edna Jenkins Horton. In addition to losing her beloved husband Bob before her passing, Rachel was predeceased by her siblings, Helen Farmer, Mildred Conard, Sarah Conroy, Arthur, Dean, and Robert Horton. Although their physical presence is no longer with us, the love and memories they shared will forever be cherished in Rachel's heart.
Rachel's life was filled with love and dedication to her family and her community. She graduated from Belmont High School and went on to pursue a career as the owner and operator of Rachel's Beauty Shop for nearly 40 years. Her cosmetology skills were renowned, and she touched the lives of countless clients who left her salon feeling beautiful both inside and out.
Aside from her successful career as a hairstylist, Rachel possessed many other talents. Growing up playing the piano at Sunset Baptist Church instilled in her a deep love for music that remained with her throughout her life. Her gentle melodies brought joy to all those who had the privilege of listening.
Rachel will also be remembered for her culinary prowess. She was an amazing cook who delighted in preparing delicious meals for her family. Her cakes were legendary, and no one could resist her mouthwatering Dallas chili. The kitchen was truly Rachel's domain where she poured love into every dish she created.
When she wasn't busy in the kitchen or making people feel beautiful at her salon, Rachel enjoyed watching Gunsmoke and Law & Order. These shows provided moments of relaxation and entertainment that she cherished in her free time.
Rachel's true pride and joy came from being a devoted wife, mother, granna, sister, and friend. She adored her late husband of 56 years, Robert "Bob" Rhodes Lewis' and they shared a love that served as an example to all who knew them. Rachel cherished their memories together throughout their long and happy marriage.
Rachel leaves behind a legacy of love and strength that will continue to inspire all who knew her. She is survived by her children, Todd Lewis (Mary Burton) and Leigh Rudisill (Tim); grandchildren, Mary Hannah Lewis, Zoye Rudisill, Tanner Lewis, and Lawson Rudisill; sister Betty McCoig; and numerous nieces and nephews. Rachel's affectionate nature and unwavering support touched the lives of her family members deeply.
To celebrate Rachel's life and honor her memory, visitation will be held on January 16th at Pearl Baptist Church in Iron Station, North Carolina from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A funeral service will follow at the same location at 2:00 PM with Pastor Hugh Whitfield officiating. The interment ceremony will take place at Long Creek Memorial Baptist Church in Dallas, North Carolina. Pallbearers will be Tim Rudisill, Lawson Rudisill, Tanner Lewis, Gary Farmer, Eric Newton and Mike Thornburg. Rachel Horton Lewis will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched. Dorothy enjoyed being outside in the yard working with her hands. Most of all she loved her family, especially having them all around for the holidays. She leaves many happy memories to be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her son, Donald Kirby (Sherri); daughter, Crystal Ferguson; grandchildren, Michelle Grigg (Scott), Christy Creed (Bryan), Michael Thomas (Maddi), Ricky Haney, (Jeannie) Jason Haney, Justin Haney, Joey Thompson (Beth), Steven Thompson (Andra), Nicole Dimpfl (Jason), Keith Kirby (Shelly); and her 16 great-grandchildren.

Obituary Preview: William Harvey Vincent, a devoted husband, father, and family man, has passed away on January 11, 2024, at CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, North Carolina. He was surrounded by his loved ones during his final moments. Harvey, as he was affectionately known, was born on November 18, 1943, in Norfolk City, Virginia. He was the son of Clarence Stanford Vincent and Flora Black Vincent and was preceded in death by two brothers named Buddy and Burgess Vincent.
Throughout his life, Harvey was a true DIY guy who found joy in his work. He owned and operated Hardin Salvage for over 25 years. Carpentry and any kind of construction fascinated him, and he poured his passion into these endeavors. His craftsmanship will be remembered by many for years to come.
Although hard work was important to Harvey, nothing compared to the precious time he spent with his family. His memories are filled with love and laughter shared among those he held dear. Family gatherings were always cherished moments that brought him immense happiness.
Beyond his work and family time, Harvey had diverse interests that brought joy into his life. One of his greatest pleasures was Western dancing, particularly the Texas Two Step which he would often enjoy with his beloved wife Carol. Not only did he dance for leisure but also took up the role of a dance teacher and would even DJ on some occasions. His passion for dancing left an indelible mark on all those who danced alongside him.
Harvey will be dearly missed by all those who were fortunate enough to have known him. His warm smile, gentle nature, and unwavering dedication to those he loved touched the lives of many. He leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will continue to inspire generations to come.
A Memorial Service will be held on January 14, 2024, at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home Chapel located at 2916 Union Road, Gastonia, North Carolina, 28054. The service will begin at 3:00 PM and will be a time for family, friends, and loved ones to come together and honor the memory of Harvey.
Harvey is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Carol Hannon Vincent. Together they built a life filled with love and cherished moments. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Frank Vincent and wife Angela, Howard Vincent and wife Debra, Leisa Abernathy and husband Todd; grandchildren Ricky Tackett (Mary Beth), Christa Long (Chris), Lauren Wooten (Cody), Roy Abernathy, Lillian Banks (Paige); great-grandchildren Bailey Tackett, Braden, Sophia and Carson Wooten, Ava Long; sister-in-law Debbie Hannon Byrd; as well as several nieces and nephews.

His kindness, dedication to his loved ones, and his passion for life will forever be etched in our hearts. Born on November 8, 1945, in Albany, Georgia to the late Edgar Franklin Friday, Jr and Margaret Barnes Friday. Georgia lived a life filled with love and compassion.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Steve Mullinax, and a brother Ed Friday.
A woman of many talents and accomplishments, Georgia's most cherished role was that of a dedicated family woman. She married her husband Steve Mullinax on May 24, 1974, and together they established S and G Furniture. Their bond was unbreakable and their partnership both personally and professionally was an inspiration to all who knew them.
Georgia's devotion to her family was unmatched. Her daughters, Cathy Crowder (Rick) and Sarah Evans (William), were the pride of her life. It was through them that she found immense joy and fulfillment. She reveled in the precious moments spent with her grandchildren Landon Wood (Josh), Liam Evans, and Saylor Evans. Their presence brought a twinkle to her eyes and warmth to her heart. She adored her great-grandchildren Hayden and Henson Wood.
Aside from her unwavering love for her family, Georgia had a zest for life that was contagious. In her leisure time, she enjoyed spending days at the lake and attending horse shows. Shopping excursions with her girls were treasured moments that created lasting memories. In her younger years, Georgia loved to dance and embraced the freedom of movement with grace and finesse.
Georgia's caring nature extended beyond her immediate family. She touched the lives of those around her in profound ways. Her friends knew they could always count on her for support and kind words. She had a compassionate heart that welcomed everyone into her life with open arms.
As a graduate of Dallas High School in 1962, Georgia valued education as a gateway to personal growth. She recognized the importance of knowledge and encouraged her loved ones to pursue their dreams. She worked as Manager at Elaine Powers Figure Salon, Lady Kady salon and Cosmopolitan Spa, before S and G Furniture. Georgia's passing leaves a void in the lives of all who knew her. Barbara had a remarkable career that spanned across different fields. She retired from Textiles, and later started operating Barbara's Daycare for many years and found great fulfillment in nurturing and tending to children. She also worked at Tony's Ice Cream in Gastonia in the 1960's.
Those who knew Barbara will always remember her loving heart and her generosity towards others. She had a special talent for cooking and took great pleasure in preparing delicious meals for family and friends. Her culinary creations brought people together and created lasting memories.
Barbara attended the North Gaston Church of God, Dallas. Her faith was a guiding light in her life and it inspired her to live with kindness, compassion, and selflessness. Barbara's connection with God allowed her to touch the lives of those around her and make a positive impact on her community.
One of Barbara's proudest accomplishments was building a loving family. She shared nearly 50 years of marriage with her husband, Lewis Earl Frady. Together they created a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Barbara leaves behind three loving sons: Randy Frady (Donna), Barry Frady (Cindy), and Todd Frady (Rhonda). Her sons were a source of immense pride and joy for her.
Barbara was also blessed with wonderful grandchildren who brought immeasurable happiness into her life: Tiffany Roper (Scott), Tyler Frady (Ashley), Justin Frady (Courtney), Ashley Stalvey (Wesley), Amber Frady, and adopted granddaughter Victoria Nguyen. Her great-grandchildren, Jackson, Bailee, and Emma Roper, Olivia Frady, Adilyn, Zane, Maddox Frady, and Savannah Stalvey filled her days with laughter and love.
Barbara had a tight-knit family that included her brother Gene Sosebee and sisters Margaret Shirley and Sue Baldwin (Charles). She was preceded in death by her siblings, Hazel Brewer, Hill, Bill, Donald, Larry and Mickey Sosebee. She cherished the bond they shared and valued their support throughout her life. Barbara was also grateful for the love and care provided by her caregiver Sherry Pruett, who served as her dedicated caregiver. The Village Square Apartment Family became an extended family to Barbara and enriched her life with friendship and companionship.
In addition to her immediate family, Barbara leaves behind cherished memories with numerous nieces and nephews whose lives she touched in meaningful ways. Her impact on their lives will always be remembered. The memory of Barbara will be honored at services held at the North Gaston Church of God located at 1310 Dallas Cherryville Hwy, Dallas, NC 28034. Ann was a faithful Christian who loved the Lord. She went to church and read her Bible until her health issues prevented her from walking and reading. She loved music, especially gospel and country. Ann was very talented and played the guitar and sang. She shared her talent with her church, Faith Baptist, and with the seniors at the Senior Center in Dallas. Ann was kind to everyone she met. She leaves many happy memories to be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her caregiver and close friend, Barbara Pruitt; many nieces and nephews; and her many good friends.

Faye was born in Durham County, North Carolina on September 27th, 1924 to William Hall Weisner and Edith Mae Rice Weisner. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, W.H. Weisner, Jr., Charles J. Weisner, Pearl Lowe, Hilda Robinson, Marion Carden and Leona Goss, all of Durham, NC; and grandson, David G. Rhinehart.
On December 27th, 1945, Faye embarked on a lifelong journey of love and companionship when she married the love of her life, Roland Van Lanier Sr. Their marriage endured for an astonishing 78 years, serving as an inspiration to all who knew them.
Faye and Roland built a beautiful family together. Their sons, R. Vann Lanier Jr and his wife Sharon of Belmont, NC, as well as David Samuel Lanier and his wife Lucy of Macon, GA, were blessed with the guiding presence of their loving mother throughout their lives. Faye's grandchildren held a special place in her heart. Granddaughter Christen Lanier Wright and her husband Wesley, and grandsons Matthew Ryan Lanier and David Rhinehart and his wife Tonya, felt the unconditional love that only a grandmother could give.
Faye was a woman of immense love and devotion. Her warm and caring nature radiated through her role as a homemaker. She took great pride in creating a loving and nurturing environment for her family. Faye's passion for baking and cooking, as well as her skills as a seamstress and love of gardening, brought joy to those around her, most notably by her delectable banana cake, traditional homemade Christmas candy, and beautiful homegrown flower arrangements. She was active in the Lucile Tatum Extension Homemakers Center, serving a time as president, and using her creativity to fashion and paint ceramic Santas and other pieces, as well as sewing home dcor, clothing, and decorative flags.
Faye was a member of West Avenue Presbyterian Church for nearly 60 years and was active in the Women of the Church. She will be remembered not only for the remarkable relationships she cultivated but also for the warmth she imparted to her friends, who became an extended part of her family throughout the years.
Though we mourn Faye's passing deeply, we find solace in cherishing the memories we have shared with such an extraordinary woman. Her legacy of love, compassion, and dedication will continue to inspire us all. As we bid farewell to Faye Weisner Lanier, let us remember her infectious laughter, her comforting presence, and the love she showered upon all those fortunate enough to have known her.

Jack Johnson Rhinehart - February 22, 1927 - December 30, 2023

Obituary Preview: Jack Johnson Rhinehart, 96, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2023 at Robin Johnson House with his beloved family by his side. He was born in Haywood County, North Carolina on February 22, 1927 to the late William Rhinehart and Agnes Henson Rhinehart. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years Shirley Elizabeth Kilpatrick Rhinehart, his sisters, Catherine Hannah and Nancy Bell.
He was a graduate of Bethel High School in Canton, North Carolina. In 1944 he then enlisted in the Navy and served on the USS Euryale and USS Nereus. Jack completed Boot Camp in Jacksonville, Florida and shipped out of Oakland, California to go overseas. He earned two victory medals, American Area and Asian Pacific Area, and he was a first-class seaman. He was discharged from Norfolk, Virginia in June 24, 1946. He returned to Canton, North Carolina and there he married his beloved wife, Shirley Kilpatrick Rhinehart and worked at Champion paper mill. He moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan and worked at America Seating Company for two years until the steel strike. He moved back to Canton and attended Blanton Business College in Asheville, North Carolina and then moved to Charlotte and started working at Akers Trucking Company in 1951 as a dispatcher. He was employed there for 28 years until they closed. In 1978, he began working with the Carolina Western Trucking Company for 12 years until he retired and then worked part time at McLean Funeral Directors. He was a dedicated member at East Belmont Baptist Church in Belmont, North Carolina, where he served as a deacon. Jack was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He enjoyed his breakfast with his fellow friends at Whites Restaurant and later Medical Center Pharmacy.
He is survived by his children Jackie and husband Dean McMahon, Karen and husband Wallace Hardy, Joey and wife Donna Rhinehart; grandchildren, Chad McMahon, Ashley McMahon Surigao, Charlie Tidwell, Allison Tidwell Bansen, and Jim Kinley; great-grandchildren, Parker McMahon, Leyton McMahon, Brooke Tidwell Merck, Jessica Tidwell, Joshua Surigao, Jude Surigao, Benjamin Bansen, Jack Bansen, Lane Bansen; great great grandchildren, Aimee Paulina Isidro, and Charlie Rae Merck; sister Patty McNeil and husband Ray of Canton, NC.

He was an avid and talented sportsman who played baseball, football, and was a UNC fan. Gary loved to be outdoors doing yardwork, he was more than a hard worker and was passionate about any work he done. He would go above and beyond to help people and really believed in second chances. In the 90s he helped to create the work-release program to give the incarcerated the dignity of being able to work and be productive members of society. Gary leaves many happy memories to be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Jan Grigg Owenby; mother, Faye Phillips Wright; daughter, Casey Quinn; grandson, Alex Faulkenberry-Owenby; sister, Kathy Smart; niece and nephew, Christal Cudd and Ricky Parker.

Earl dedicated many years of his life working in textiles. One of Earls favorite pastimes was hunting. He found great joy gardening and farming watermelons. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many. He also enjoyed spending time with his family. Earl was a member of West Cramerton Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Belmont Masonic Lodge #627.
Earl is survived by his wife of 61 years, Nettie Duncan Ward, who stood by his side through everything. Their bond served as an inspiration to all who knew them, a testament to the enduring power of love and commitment. He also leaves behind his daughters, Sandra Kay Ward Black and Kathy Ward Fuller; Earls legacy lives on through his wonderful grandchildren, Lonnie Pittman, Wesley Baucom and fiance Kayla Mullarkey, and Gracie Fuller who brought immense pride and joy to his life. Also, his sister, Patricia Ward Martin and husband Dennis; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 28, 2023 at West Cramerton Baptist Church with Reverend Mike Ivey and Pastor Walt Griggs officiating. He was a licensed electrical contractor and owner of Lemmons Electric. Gordon was an avid gardener and raised many gardens. He gave away so much of what he grew to those in need. As evident by his love of gardening, he loved the outdoors and being outside in nature. He was also a HAM Radio operator, call letters WB4LQS. Being a loving and caring man, he always championed the underdog, standing up for those who were often overlooked.
Most of all he adored his late wife, JoAnn and spoiled his family. He leaves many happy memories to be cherished by all who knew and loved him.

Linda will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be greatly missed! She was a faithful member of Lowell Church of God. Linda enjoyed serving with Lois Cooper in their ministering to Brookdale Assisted Living on Sundays. She also enjoyed leading the choir when needed. After retirement her passion was gardening. Linda retired from Bellsouth/AT&T after 25+ years.
Left to cherish her memories includes her children, Ronald Radford (Donna); Angela Radford (Erick Gonzalez); and Jon Radford (Cindy); grandchildren, Jonathan, Hannah, Aaron (Mercede), Logan and Abigail; siblings Andrew 0Dickie)Jenkins (Kay), Kathy (Punkin) Propst (Steve), Tommy Duncan (Janice); numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held 12:00 Noon, Saturday at Evergreen "A Quiet Place" with Reverend Joe Heffner officiating, with the Releasing of the Doves to follow.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Radford, Aaron Radford, Logan McKnight, Tim Radford, Buddy Radford and Billy Secrest.
