Melba Joyce Acheson - June 04, 1940 - May 08, 2024

Obituary Preview: Melba Joyce (Phillips) Acheson was called to her heavenly home on May 8, 2024, after living her life for our Savior and Lord. There she joins her parents, Merkel and Odessa (Proctor) Phillips; her sister, Martha Jean Elledge; and brother, Darrel Ray Phillips.

Born in Pampa, TX on June 4, 1940, she was raised in the Spring Creek community and finished high school at Borger High School, Borger, TX.

After high school, Melba attended Frank Phillips Junior College for one year before transferring to Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, TX, to finish her BS in Education in 1962 and begin graduate studies. While at Hardin-Simmons Melba was a member of the prestigious White Horse Riders, an exhibition team still active today which travels extensively throughout the United States.

While teaching at her alma mater after graduation, Melba met a young Air Force pilot trainee, Denny, who was stationed at Dyess AFB near Abilene. The two were married in the base chapel on March 26, 1964, the evening before the great Alaskan earthquake in Anchorage which was to be the location of their first assignment together a month later. This would be the first of 14 moves over the next 24 years. In addition to raising two daughters, Melba continued her interest in education, substituting in local schools, working in local base education offices and advising military wives groups. She led several children’s choirs at the base chapels which was near to her heart. It served as training for her daughters as well as serving her local church. While stationed at Kincheloe AFB, in Michigan, she made time to earn her Master’s Degree in Guidance and Counseling from Central Michigan University in 1977.

In 1987, Melba returned to work as an academic advisor, then as a career counselor at Bellevue University. From 1990 until retiring in 2005, she continued as an academic advisor at the University of Nebraska-Omaha in the College of Continuing Studies, both on campus and at the Offutt AFB Education Center.

After retirement Melba spent time traveling to visit her daughters around the US and in Australia after Melissa married a Royal Australian Air Force pilot, Philip J. Beanland. She enjoyed her Bible study group, maintaining connections with friends far and wide (especially her dear neighbors), gardening, sewing and quilting, but most of all she cherished her time spent with her two grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Col. (USAF Ret) Densel K. (Denny) Acheson; daughters, Dr. Marrisa Jean Acheson, Ph.D and Melissa Joyce (Acheson) Beanland; son-in-law, Wing Commander (Royal Australian Air Force Ret), Philip John Beanland; grandchildren, Jack Densel Beanland and Melina Joyce Beanland; and sister-in-law, Dixie Jean Phillips. Additionally, she is survived by her in-laws, Claudia Sue Petersen, Patti Lou and Dennis Franklin Frist; as well as six nephews, three nieces and their families.

Jackie Nolan Woods - September 18, 1950 - May 07, 2024

Obituary Preview: Jackie Nolan Woods, 73, of Skellytown, Texas, joined his beloved Nay Nay in Heaven on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, in Amarillo surrounded by his family at his bedside. He was born on September 18, 1950, in Borger, Texas to Albert and Charlene Woods. Jackie grew up in Borger and enlisted into the United States Army where he proudly served in the Vietnam War during 1969 and 1970. Unfortunately, he was hit by enemy fire and not only received a Purple Heart, but forever wore scars or “badges of honor” and carried pieces of shrapnel buried within his flesh. Jackie never regretted his service and even though he didn’t graduate from high school, he often stated he graduated from the school of hard knocks!

After returning home, Jackie began his career in the oilfield. Throughout his years, he had worked for numerous oilfield companies such as Haliburton, Serfco, American Energy, B&C Well Service, and BJ Chemical. He married the love of his life, Geneva, in 1975 and together they conquered whatever obstacles lay ahead. When given the opportunity to travel with his job, they embraced it, moving to Scotland and traveling wherever it may have led them. With candy always at the ready, he became “Uncle Candy Man” to many of the kids. Jackie was a big kid at heart, so he loved to spend time with his grandkids and family. He was an instigator and took to egging on the kids as much as possible. Many times, a child went home to mom with sharpie or pen drawn mustaches, eyeglasses, watches, jewelry, etc. that Jackie had artistically freehanded on them!

Jackie was obsessed with wrestling, enjoyed fishing (even though he wasn’t any good at it), and was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan. Very rarely did you see him that he wasn’t wearing some sort of Cowboys gear. However, more than anything else, Jackie loved his family. His persistent orneriness, nicknames and laughter will be deeply missed by all who loved him.

Those who eagerly awaited his arrival into Heaven were his parents; a son, Samuel Benjamin Woods II; brother, Samuel Woods; nephew, Samuel Benjamin Woods III; niece, Carla Jo Newman; sisters-in-law, Brenda Newman, April Annis; brothers-in-law, Billy Jack Annis, Dewayne Short.

Jackie is survived by four daughters, Angel Woods and Michael Kettler of Waco, Charra Woods and Josh of Skellytown, Krystal Woods of Pampa, Jacklyn Woods and Fabian of Memphis; bonus daughter, Brandi Soliz of Pampa; bonus son, Edward Hernandez and Sylvia of Pampa; brother, Donnie Woods and Jan of Skellytown; brothers-in-law, Norman Newman of Pampa, Troy Brown of Grapevine, Jack Toney of Hennessey, OK; sisters-in-law, Debra Short of Borger, Brenda Phares and Maple of Enid, OK, Rachel Brown of Pampa; eight grandchildren, Ysenia, Edward, Zariah, Matthew, Nehemiah, Silas, Bentleigh, Jon; three great-grandchildren and a grand pup, Chief and a passel of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family that Jackie loved.

Albertina Linda Bell - January 30, 1953 - May 07, 2024

Obituary Preview: Albertina Linda “Tina” Bell, 71 years old, of Pampa, Texas, passed from this life into eternal rest on May 7, 2024. She was born on January 30, 1953, to Mr. Malouin and Ms. Claire Beaulieu in Providence, Rhode Island.

Tina was raised in Providence and married Sammie Lee Bell on January 3, 1984, in her hometown. Not long after that, they moved to Kentucky and remained until moving to Pampa in 2008. Due to her health, Tina wasn’t able to hold employment outside the home, so she took to being a stay-at-home housewife and mother.

When her health allowed, she really enjoyed attending church as well as WMU and any activities she could participate in. When not able to physically attend church, she more than made up for it by watching countless religious programs on TV – along with her crime shows and Hallmark Christmas channel of course. Tina loved Christmas like crazy and would start listening to Christmas Carols at a very loud volume even before Halloween.

More often than not, Tina was quite outspoken, had no filter and was set in her ways, but she also had a heart of gold and would give anything she could to help someone in need. She never got a drivers license and therefore, never drove a car…no need, she had family and friends. Her kids always just claimed “Mom was Mom” quirks and all – they loved her regardless!! Tina loved her kids, grandkids and family more than anything else and her love will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sammie Lee Bell; three sisters, Ethel Powers, Carol Perry and Mary Hetu and a brother, Bud McDermott.

Those remaining to cherish her memories and laugh at her antics are her three children, Michael Bell of Amarillo, Sam Bell and wife Shelly of Pampa, Pamela Bell and fiancé Jonathan Stevens of Amarillo’ a brother, Robert Malouin of Montana; two sisters, Deanna Tolentino and husband Jesus of Johnston, RI, Patricia Gencarella of North Kingstown, RI; seven grandchildren, Sabrina Videon, Kris Lenning, James Hawkins, Avery Bell, Payton Bell, Linsey Bell, Chelsie Gillenwater; one great-grandchild and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family that will also miss her.

Elizabeth Ann Johnson - October 11, 1948 - April 12, 2024

Obituary Preview: Eizabeth Ann Johnson, 75 years old, of Pampa, Texas, passed from this life and entered through the gates of Heaven on Friday, April 12, 2024, in Amarillo with her family surrounding her. She was born on October 11, 1948, to Harold and Josie Phillips in Borger, Texas.

Following her graduation from Lefors High School in 1967, she married Jimmy Johnson on August 23, 1968, after a four-year courtship. She did receive her LVN license, however, her heart was leading her in another direction, so after having Craig, she decided to stay home and babysit kids. Elizabeth operated her in-home daycare for 50 years and took care of countless children from this community over the years. Some much so, that she’s even babysat generations of kids in families and many of her “grown kids” would still call and check on her periodically.

Often times when not taking care of kids, she and Jimmy would enjoy bowling, going to the lake on occasion and her favorite simple pleasure of sneaking off to a casino to play penny slot machines. Elizabeth didn’t much care for cooking but could bake some great pies and enjoyed doing so for special occasions. Her house is full of Coca-Cola Polar Bear items she has collected over the years, she was head over heels for Elvis, and she absolutely loved chocolate malt balls! Nothing meant more to her than spending time with her grandbabies and she looked forward to her and Jimmy’s standing date to Amarillo every Sunday afternoon of course while clutching her purse in her lap.

Elizabeth was reunited with her parents; a sister, Laura Inez Vandever; brothers, William “Bill” Phillips, Bobbie Harold Phillips; mother and father-in-law, Thelma and Billy Joe Johnson and a brother-in-law, Jimmy Barnes.

Loved ones left to mourn her are her loving husband of 55 years, Jimmy Johnson of Pampa; three children, Alicia Jeter and husband James of Pampa, Jimmy Craig Johnson and wife Christy Jo Johnson of Pampa, Misti Dawn Brewer and husband Travis of Wayne, OK; sisters, Fannie Sue Barnes of Bridgeport, TX, Francis Kay Barton and husband Donnie of Pampa; sister-in-law, Brenda Frazier of Pampa; eight grandchildren, Julie Alonzo and husband Jimmy, Kayla Parker and husband Darren, Austin Craig Johnson and wife Jonae, Jordyn Johnson and fiancé Pete Kuasonoh, Allyson Terry and husband Chris, Jacob Howe, Clayton Ward, Carson Ward; 11 great-grandchildren, Madison, Natyli, Arianna, Alyx, Phoenix, Kinsler, Ciana, Hazely, Kaisley, Scarlett, Payton and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members who all loved her.

Jo Ann Ring - July 31, 1937 - April 08, 2024

Obituary Preview: JoAnn Ring, 86 years of age, of Pampa, Texas, finally heard God call her name and answered without hesitation to her new home in Glory on Monday, April 8, 2024, while family witnessed her prayers being answered. JoAnn was born one of five children to George and Gertrude Winegeart on July 31, 1937, in Wellington, Texas.

Throughout her education, JoAnn attended Lefors Elementary, Pampa Junior High, Lefors High School, earned her LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) from Baton Rouge VoTech and attended LSU for two years. She married Norman Ray Timmons in 1953, and soon after they started a family. Later, she married Jesse T. Ring in 1976. Both Jesse and JoAnn had families, however, with God as the focal point and surrounded by love, the families blended seamlessly.

JoAnn was certainly blessed with a God given talent as she could hear a piece of music or a few notes and play from just that. She was raised in church and accepted Christ as her Savior when she was merely 5 years old, and Her daddy had her playing the piano at church at the age of 12. She continued playing at her church homes for 72 years until retiring in 2023. She was very devoted and even learned ASL (American Sign Language) so she and Jesse could go on church retreats and help teach the deaf children as well. She even attended and graduated from Grayson School of the Bible in Oklahoma. There was never a time that she didn’t have her kids in church and even referred to Donna, Steve, and Gary Dean as the “Timmons Trio” because she had them singing specials at every opportunity. Not only did JoAnn play piano, but she sang and wrote songs as well. Some of her songs are even published. During the pandemic, for two years, JoAnn livestreamed herself…well, only her hands, playing hymns, and ministering to others through her music.

She was also very artistic and a talented painter, her house is full of her paintings and only the good Lord knows how many of her painted items she has blessed others with. She loved to play games; trash talked and cheated (but only in a sincere Christian manner) to win! JoAnn was extremely stubborn and strong willed, she had a great sense of humor and never ran short on wit and somehow, she was very demanding, yet in a sweet and loving way. She deemed herself Queen of her birthdays and her favorite phrase was “Because JoAnn said so!” Certainly, one of a kind, her spunk, her humor, and love will be missed by all who knew her.

She was greeted into Heaven by her parents; her husband, Jesse Ring; sons, Jesse “Buddy” Ring, Jr, Dennis James Ring, Steven Ray Ring, Gary Dean Timmons; a granddaughter, Mandy Roberts and siblings, Colleen Lowe, Earl Winegeart, Elmer Don Winegeart, and Patsy Winegeart Jones. She leaves behind to cherish her memories and carry on her legacy three children, Steve Timmons and wife Tracie of Wheeler, Donna Brown and husband Milton of Pampa, LaWausa Crain and husband Mike of Pampa; six grandchildren, Chad Box, Micheal Box and wife Alva, Evan McCurley and wife Bethany, Lauren Paul-Petersen and husband Evan, Tyler Timmons, Kelley Timmons and wife Leslie, many great grandchildren as well as many great-great-grandchildren and a plethora of nieces, nephews and cousins, not to mention the many whom considered her mom and that she adopted as her own!

Carl Burna McCabe - October 25, 1934 - April 01, 2024

Obituary Preview: Carl B. McCabe, 89 years old, of Skellytown, Texas, peacefully drew his last breath when Jesus called his name on Monday, April 1, 2024, with his family at his side. He was born in Cleveland, Oklahoma on October 25, 1934, to Kinard and Lela McCabe.

Carl’s family moved from Oklahoma to Skellytown where he attended Skellytown Grade School and graduated from White Deer High School in 1953. After high school, he attended Frank Phillips College in Borger, West Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas and the University of Oklahoma on a basketball scholarship.

On April 11, 1969, he married Susan Gray Peterson in Las Vegas, Nevada; the beginning of a 55-year love story and life journey. They both worked at the Nevada test site when they met. Carl dedicated most of his career to the oilfield industry, working his way up as a fishing tool expert that allowed him and Sue to travel around the world. Together they were able to live in England, Singapore, The Philippines, and Indonesia. While in the Philippines, between 1979 – 1982, Carl owned his own business and the two named it Geo-Petro Service & Supply.

In Singapore, Carl volunteered for the Cajun Chefs and on the “chain gang” for the SACAC youth football program. In 1997, he and Sue made a final move home to Skellytown from Singapore. Carl traveled back and forth from Skellytown to Asia for 3 years and did eventually retire, but only for a brief time as he decided it wasn’t for him; he could never stay idle for long. He eventually returned to oilfield consulting for a few years before permanently retiring.

In retirement, Carl and Sue traveled in their motorhome around the Southwest and then to volunteer with Texas Baptist Men Camp Builders to camps – especially his favorite ones, Panfork and Riverbend. He loved the comradery with other retirees, the satisfying hard work with his hands and Carl loved the singing. He also loved working on ‘Ole Blue (his 1961 Ford pickup) acquired in a Las Vegas government auction in the late 1960’s.

Probably the longest Carl sat still for any length of time was to work on his crossword puzzles. Carl’s willingness to experience new things, his playful sense of humor, and love for his family and friends will be missed so deeply.

Those who eagerly awaited his arrival into Heaven were his parents; two daughters, Katherine McCabe, Rebecca Pelletier; a sister and brother-in-law, Shella Dean Collins and Cleatus Collins.

Left to reminisce and cherish their precious memories are his wife of 55 years, Susan “Sue” McCabe of Skellytown; three children, Lynn Hirsch and husband Elliot of Tulsa, OK, Carl Mitchell McCabe and wife Paula of Kingston, OK, Stacie Ocnaschek and husband Robert of Bedford, TX; a brother, Jack B. McCabe and wife Kay of Waxahachie, OK; six grandchildren, Melanie Pelletier Kinter, Travis Pelletier and wife Lindsey, Katie Pelletier, Emily Pelletier, Michael Ocnaschek, Vincent Ocnaschek, Hannah Ocnaschek; seven great-grandchildren, Stella Kinter, Maya Kinter, Annika Kinter, Jon Pelletier, Jack Pelletier, James Pelletier, Jordan Pelletier and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members who love and miss him.

David Wayne Wysong - December 25, 1954 - March 18, 2024

Obituary Preview: David Wayne Wysong, 69 years of age, of Spearman, Texas, passed away in the comfort of his recliner at home on Tuesday, March 18, 2024. He was born as a special Christmas gift to his parents, Edwin Wayne and Joann Wysong on December 25, 1954, in Dumas, Texas.

After graduating from Guymon High School, David attended Oklahoma University. He enjoyed working in the food industry and became manager of several restaurant chains including Cracker Barel and Dairy Queen. David carried a very humble, kind and caring persona and in turn, his employees had much respect for him and his leadership abilities.

Often times, David found that sitting by himself in peaceful solitude with a good book to read or perhaps sitting on the shore with a fishing pole in hand was the answer to life’s problems. Then again, sometimes, he wanted nothing more than to yell at the TV when his favorite football teams were playing! All in all, David was a fairly simple man with a gentle heart for those he loved.

He was greeted into eternity by his parents; a stepfather, Jospeh Yell and a sister, Rebecca Carrington.

His memories will be cherished by his sister, Barbara Dees and husband Randy; a niece, Nicole Parish and great niece, Brooke Allo as well as a great nephew, Connor Allo all of Corinth, Texas.

The family has opted not to have Celebration of Life services at this time. They have entrusted the cremation care of their loved one to Winegeart Funeral Home.

Lois Marie Hash - January 25, 1969 - March 15, 2024

Obituary Preview: Lois “Marie” Mackey Hash, 55 years old, of Pampa, Texas, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 15th, 2024, while in BSA Hospital in Amarillo, Texas. She was born on January 25th, 1969, in Memphis, Texas to Terry Mackey and Carolyn Roberts.

Moving to Pampa in 1984 from Memphis, Marie started attending Pampa schools and graduated in 1988. She enjoyed watching movies, swimming, and playing games of all sorts; however, Monopoly was her favorite. She looked forward to family gatherings and reunions as she loved her family dearly. Typically joking and cutting up, Marie loved to laugh, but her mood did play a part in determining her attitude. She will be sorely missed by her family and her best friend and favorite cat, Jellybean.

Those who preceded her in death are her father, Terry Leon Mackey; grandparents, Viola Roberts, Ira and James “Shorty” Mackey all of Memphis, Texas, and Andrew Roberts of Marshall, Texas.

Marie is survived by a daughter, Lori Mae Hash Livengood; two grandchildren, Bryson Livengood, Kaleigha Nguyen all of Amarillo; a sister, Mallory Gallagher Davis; two nephews, Drake Harkins, Damon Davis all of Pampa; her mother and stepfather, Carolyn Roberts and Ronald Gallagher of Pampa; a sister, Thresas Mackey; brother, Tee Mackey and several other nieces and nephews.

William Baldwin - January 15, 1952 - March 06, 2024

Obituary Preview: William “Roger” Baldwin, 72, of Pampa, Texas, peacefully left his earthly tent as he became new in Heaven with family surrounding him on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, in Amarillo. Roger was born on January 15, 1952, in Spartanburg, South Carolina to William and Ethel Baldwin.

Roger grew up in South Carolina and graduated from Woodruff High School in Woodruff, South Carolina. He loved the simple beauty of South Carolina and once moved from there, he realized how much he truly cherished his time there. Throughout his lifetime, Roger was self-employed in multiple fields, and he enjoyed dabbling in the stock market as well. On January 18, 2008, Roger and Susan Maggard joined their lives together in holy matrimony in Vinton, Louisiana and moved to Pampa in 2017 from Sulphur, Louisiana.

Loving the outdoors, Roger had numerous hobbies outside in the warm sun. He spent many countless hours golfing, hunting, fishing, gardening, and collecting arrowheads. He also enjoyed watching Nascar races and his favorite college football team, the South Carolina Gamecocks. Roger was very passionate about dogs, especially Black Labradors – he even trained them for years.

One to possess a great zest and ambition for life, Roger was always so jovial and outgoing. He loved his family, but he really cherished his grandkids and valued the time he spent with them making memories. His passion for life and his family will be missed dearly.

He was greeted by his parents; a brother, Ted Baldwin; a son-in-law, James Workman and his Aunt Ruth Banister.

His memories will always be cherished by his loving wife, Susan Baldwin of Pampa; two daughters, Vanessa Workman of Pampa, Duchess Blanton and husband Shawn of Nacogdoches; four grandchildren, Lillian Workman, Russell Workman, Dylan Saavedra and Zander Saavedra; mother and father-in-law, Albert and Mary Maggard of Pampa; brother-in-law, Adrian Maggard and wife Glenda of Midland; numerous very close friends that he considered family and numerous cousins.

Obituary Preview: Michael Kent Love, 62 years old, of Pampa, Texas, peacefully passed away while his devoted wife sat diligently at his side following a long hospital stay on Saturday, March 2, 2024, in Amarillo, Texas. Mike was born on April 10, 1961, in Pampa, Texas to Arlin Neighbors and Karen Long Kelley.

Mike was raised in Pampa and attended Pampa schools for a while, until he decided he was done with it and eventually received his GED. He enlisted into the United States Army and proudly served in the 3rd Armored Division. Following his military service, Mike lived in Germany for five years before coming back to Pampa where he met and married his absolute best friend and companion, Sissy Warrington. They married on November 17, 1984, beginning their 40-year honeymoon together! Throughout the many years together, they never spent one night apart from each other – EVER! Then in 1993, the family packed up and moved to Healdton, OK due to Mike’s employment. In 2002, they moved back home to Pampa where he was given the opportunity to work for Cable One as a supervisor until his retirement in 2009 due to health reasons.

Blessed with an incredible musical ability to pick up an instrument and play it…without being able to read a note of music…Mike loved playing the drums, guitar, and harmonica. Throughout his life, he was involved with several bands, wrote hundreds of songs and even played with Scorpion while in Germany. His talents were countless. He was a mechanic, built trikes, was a plumber, and a cartoon artist just to name a few of his God given gifts. Another of Mike’s favorite pastimes was his and Sissy’s yearly trip to Red River. They camped, hiked, fished, and walked hand in hand along streams together.

Mike never met a stranger and never met a person he didn’t like. He had a true heart of gold and was often referred to as a big ol’ teddy bear. He loved to make others happy, therefore he would crack jokes to lighten the mood or simply brighten someone’s day with a smile. He coveted his wife and children above all else and had a true heart of gold! He will be missed by many who loved and knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an Aunt Linda Ballew.

Mike’s love of laughter, corny joke telling and ability to put others at ease will be cherished and missed by his best friend and wife of 40 years, Sissy Love of Pampa; two sons, Edwin Love and wife Rekeisha of Wisconsin, Joseph Love of Pampa; brother, Brad Love and wife Lisa of Wichita Falls; two sisters, Nita Luchetti and husband Mike of Saco, Maine, Darla Neasbitt and husband Randy of Dickson, OK; stepfather, Bill Hodgson and wife Beulah of Stephenville, TX and his three granddaughters, Shaley Love, Gabriella Love and Iris Love.

Gary and Robyn married on May 17, 2012, and then eight years ago, uprooted their family from North Carolina and made the move to Pampa. She had worked as a waitress, but her true calling was as a social media influencer. She loved expressing herself through her TikTok’s. She had a way with people and enjoyed meeting new friends. Although she had been disabled for the past 10 years, she tried to make the most out of life…she could be described as a light of life in a broken body. Robyn was the epitome of a loving, giving and selfless child of God. Robyn was greeted at Heaven’s pearly gates by her sister, Tonya Weaver and it’s no doubt they are having a reunion getting each other caught up on what’s been happening!

Those who remain to carry on her legacy and love of life are her husband, Gary Forbes; her two children and what she considered her pride and joy, Joaquin Martinez, Kaylan Forbes; her parents, William and Carolyn Young; Mema, Patricia Averett; two brothers, Chris Weaver and wife Hayley, Joseph Quesenberry; six sisters, Rebecca Weaver, Kelley Weaver, Alexus Larrison all of Pampa, Victoria Larrison of North Carolina, Marisol Gonsales, Araseli Gonsales both of Pampa and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members who all loved her dearly.

Obituary Preview: David Leon Brunson, 71 years old, of Pampa, Texas, drew his last breath on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, while family sat at his side. He was born on July 31, 1952, in Junction City, Kansas. At a young age, David was blessed to have been chosen by Glen Dale and Ester Brunson and adopted into their family.

David graduated from Custard City High School then moved to Beaver County, OK where he met Clydene. Shortly thereafter, they married on June 15, 1974, and remained together until her passing. David had been employed with the State of Oklahoma in the highway department for many years. Throughout his employment with them, he held many positions and worked in all areas, but his main responsibility was to paint the stripes on the highway. Several years back, David was quite involved with remote control car racing and when not racing his remote-control car, he was making laps at the stock car races which he competed in for many years and supporting OSU as a longtime fan. When not caught up in the fast pace of racing cars and football, he found peace and serenity while soaking up the sun, walking the beach in Florida and watching the rockets launch. Generally, a very loving and happy man, David was smitten with his grandkids and spent as much time with them as possible – even if it was watching TV or playing with them, it gave his heart much joy!

David was preceded in death by his wife, Clydene Brunson; his parents, Glen Dale and Ester Brunson; a son, David Lynn Brunson; a grandson, Dain Brunson; a brother, Richard Brunson and a brother-in-law, David Skinner.

He is survived by three children, Alan Brunson and wife Amber of Seiling, OK, Nicole Brunson and husband Lee Price of Pampa, Melissa Winters and husband Billy of Melbourne, FL; a sister, Linda Skinner of Aldine, KS and seven grandchildren, Devon Brunson, Blade Brunson, Braiden Brunson, Summer Price, Shyann Price, Tyler Price and Roxanne Price.

William Charles Manley - March 18, 1952 - February 13, 2024

Obituary Preview: William Charles “Bill” Manley, 71 years old, of Pampa, Texas, passed from this life into eternal rest while at his home on Tuesday, February 13, 2024. He was born in Minnesota on March 18, 1952.

Following Bill’s graduation from Bonanza High School in Oregon, he enlisted into the United States Army and served his country as a sniper during the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged from the Army, he married Joyce Menendez and they remained happily married until her passing. Bill started driving a truck for Safeway in California and dedicated more than 20 years of his life to them before retiring.

Bill had several interests, but camping, fishing, riding motorcycles and eventually his trike, and just relaxing watching old westerns rated pretty high on his scale of favorites but going to Las Vegas probably topped the charts! He had no problems making friends and was extremely social. He could be seen at the Coffee Shoppe in the mornings having his coffee with his gang. He could talk to anyone anywhere about anything. However, he was overly blunt and outspoken as well. Bill did not sugarcoat and got straight to the point, but it was just a part of Bill and who he was.

There was no doubt he loved his family…especially his granddaughter, Kaitlyn. Bill loved to go out and eat and spend time with his family and friends around the table. He impacted many lives over his 71 years and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was eagerly greeted into heaven by his parents; his beloved wife, Joyce; a son, Charles Wayne Manley and his four-legged companions, Holly, Lola, Scrappy and Bella.

Those remaining here to cherish his love and laughter are his son-in-law, Michael Blagg of Turlock, CA; daughter-in-law, Kelli King of Pampa; Kelli’s mother, Terri Pace of Pampa, six grandchildren, Kaitlyn King, Travis Williams, Brendan King, Kylar King all of Pampa, Lacey Haley, Cheyenne Blagg both of Turlock, CA; two great-grandchildren, Adriel and Noel and his precious dream dog, Elsa.

Braxton Randol Lee-Jones - December 06, 2004 - January 28, 2024

Obituary Preview: Braxton Randol Lee-Jones, 19 years old, of Lefors, Texas, is now resting easy with the Great Almighty following the tragic and unexplained act of taking his life in his college dorm at Texas Tech on Sunday, January 28, 2024, in Lubbock, Texas. He was born on December 6, 2004, in Pampa, Texas to Stephanie Lee and Aaron Jones.

From an early age, Braxton was diagnosed with ADHD as well as tested to have been on the Autistic Spectrum, however, with grit, determination, excessive will power, countless prayers and a mother that supported him unconditionally-Braxton overcame his “disability” without medication and was inducted into the National Honor Society before graduating from Lefors High School in 2023. He received numerous scholarships and upon entering his first year into college at Texas Tech, he actually went in as a sophomore due to having completed enough credits in high school to skip his freshman year. His dream was to be a surgeon and considering he enjoyed studying and classwork, he had what it took to make it to his goal. He got a kick out of seeing other people’s point of view on subjects and learning was actually a pastime of his.

While in high school, he was on both the track and football teams where he was able to express his love for running and exercise, always pushing his body to its limits. He and childhood buddies, CJ, Louis, and Levi were inseparable for the most part. They sometimes went fishing and who knows the countless adventures they embarked on together. Braxton might have been known to buy random items such as a piano and coke machine off of Facebook Marketplace just to pick them up in places he had never been.

Braxton was a gamer, but not your typical gamer, as he collected old retro gaming consoles and restored them. He liked playing Nintendo Pokémon, old Wii games and Call of Duty. He was sort of an old soul in a young man’s body…he appreciated older things. For instance, he loved watching Studio Ghibli and binge-watching anime series.

Typical of any teenage boy, Braxton had an ornery streak, but on the flip side, he had an amazing sense of humor, an uncanny wit, and his kindness could melt hearts! He and Justice were so close they were almost twins, and he was an amazing big brother to Liberty and Gatlin. He will be missed by so very many who loved him.

Although gone too soon, he was eagerly awaited in Heaven by his great-grandmothers, Stacey Stubbs and Wanita Freeman, his Aunt Tracey Jones and Uncle Jarod Barrett.

Obituary Preview: Amanda Gay “Mandy” Cummings, 62 years of age, of Pampa, Texas, drew her last breath Friday evening, January 19, 2024. She was born on August 14, 1961, to Sherman and Dorothy Cowan in Pampa.

Not long after she graduated from Tascosa High School with the Class of ‘79’, Bob and Mandy were planning a wedding. On September 28, 1980, the two exchanged vows beginning what was to become an adventure they embarked together for 43 years. Mandy raised four boys-Aaron, Derrick, Jaxson and the biggest kid of them all, Bob. At times, the boys drove her crazy, however, her mama bear instincts would kick in and she would defend their honor at all costs if anyone tried to attack their integrity in any way. Although Mandy was small in stature, what she lacked in size, she more than made up for in heart. She knew no strangers and her smile was infectious to those who crossed her path.

Throughout her career, she worked in various capacities. She had been employed by Dr. Walters. Clint & Sons, Dyer’s BBQ, The Pampa News, National Home Health Care and at one time had owned a daycare, Dorothy’s Daycare. Mandy touched many lives over the course of her employment path. Some of the pastimes and activities that Mandy enjoyed over the course of her life are camping and fishing, decorating, gambling, watching Gunsmoke, or any old black & white westerns, and recently watching football with Bob. As much as she enjoyed all these things, none came close to the love she had for her family. She adored her boys and grandkids above anything else…except maybe her dogs!

Mandy was greeted into eternity by her parents and a brother, Ted Cowan.

Left to cherish her precious memories are her husband, Bob Cummings of Pampa; two sons, Aaron Cummings of Amarillo and Derrick Cummings of Borger; a brother, Tim Cowan and wife Amber of Amarillo; five grandchildren, Isiah Martinez, Maddie Robey, Tyler Leos, Sadi Romero, Jaxson Cummings; her three fur babies and companions, Django, BeVo, Randy and numerous extended family members.

Obituary Preview: Glenda Alane Applegate, 66 years old, of Pampa, Texas, passed away from this life on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at her home. She was born on April 17, 1957, in Levelland, Texas to Irvin and Artie Savage.

In 1979, Glenda moved from Plainview to Pampa making this her home from that point on. According to some, she may not have had a “normal job”, however, she strenuously worked at one of the hardest, yet most fulfilling jobs available as a housewife and mother to three daughters. She used to enjoy crocheting and needlepointing while watching cooking shows or Gun Smoke. Not one to pass up a deal, she loved seeking out bargains at thrift stores and garage sales. Glenda was relatively simple and took great pleasure in merely listening to country music, crafting of all sorts, playing games on her computer, taking tons of pictures, and playing mixologist with her essential oils.

She had a heart of gold and always went out of her way to care for others. Lending a hand to her neighbors was something she was happy to do. She was able to see love in even the smallest of things and little gestures didn’t go by her unnoticed. Her grandkids were her pride and joy and she absolutely loved to spend time with them. One of her famous sayings, “Wanna go get a coke? I’ll buy!” will be remembered by all of them.

Glenda was greeted in glory by her parents; two sisters, Lynn Wilby and Becky Bradshaw.

Obituary Preview: Erma Carlene Wilson, 79 years old, of Pampa, Texas, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2024, in Amarillo. She was born on December 6, 1944, in Larned, Kansas to Carl and Mabel Wilson.

After graduating from Kinsley High School in 1962, Carlene remained in Kinsley and started what would be her lifelong career as a teller of Farmers Bank & Trust. Over the years, she worked her way through the ranks from teller to loan officer and eventually Branch Manager until her retirement. Carlene never sat still! Even after her retirement – she was always working on things that needed tending to.

Having a tremendous love for the outdoors, she fervently worked in her flowerbeds and gardens and always had the greenest, most lush lawn in the neighborhood. God blessed her with a green thumb most could only hope for. When not toiling in the soil, Carlene might simply be sitting at her sewing machine, making crafts or she could be using her skills in carpentry and woodworking.

Although she was never idle, Carlene was very simple, kind and very well liked by others. She, in turn, knew no strangers and had a heart of gold. None could have loved her grandkids or been any prouder. Carlene loved her KU basketball team, but nothing topped the grandkids sports events! She tried to make it to all their games and support them as much as she could.

Carlene was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Clarence Wilson and sister-in-law, Charlene Wilson.

She leaves behind to cherish wonderful memories a daughter, Christy Johnson and husband Craig of Pampa; son, Cory Halling and wife Christina of St. John, KS; brother, Willis Wilson of Kansas City, MO; eight grandchildren, Jerry, Collin, Tanner, Austin and wife Jonae, Jordyn, Clayton, Carson; three great-grandchildren, Lola, Kinsler, and Kaizlee not to mention numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family who all miss her.

Obituary Preview: In her mothers embrace, our sweet, precious Ariah passed away peacefully on January 13, 2024, after a 3 ½ year long battle with cancer. Ariah Michelle Jefferson was born on July 10, 2014.

The long list of diagnosis Ariah acquired in her short life provides for numerous surgeries and lengthy hospital stays, where she made major impacts on doctors and nurses across Texas and Oklahoma. Though Ariah has endured so much, she would smile through it all. That smile let us know just how much she loved us. Ariah also loved her movies and would watch them on repeat daily. The joy she would get from watching them was infectious. Ariah’s favorite thing to do was to look at the lights displayed around her room and on the ceiling while her mom sang lullabies – “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” was her favorite one. Ariah was so strong, and she fought until the very end. The strength, beauty, willpower, perseverance, and determination are truly admirable and will never be forgotten.

Ariah was greeted into Heaven with arms wide open by her great-great-grandmothers, Imogene Adams and Joyzelle McIntire Potts and a cousin, Keely Downs.

Obituary Preview: Arica Ann Lancaster, 80 years of age, of Mobeetie, Texas, took her last breath this side of glory early Monday, January 8, 2024, while surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on March 2, 1943, to Ariza and Annabelle Corcoran in Wheeler.

She was raised in Mobeetie where she attended school until her senior year when she attended a portion of it at Palo Duro High School before returning back to Mobeetie to graduate with the class of 1961. It was during this time that she met the love of her life and on October 14, 1960, she and Aaron Lancaster were united in marriage and began their life journey together. She then went on to earn her associate degree in business from Amarillo College.

One of Arica’s favorite hobbies was cooking which was very fitting for the occupations she embarked upon. For seventeen years, she worked as the Food Service Supervisor for Amarillo Independent School District then went to Albertson’s to work in the deli for two years, all while traveling to craft fairs with her “Fun Things” ceramics booth. A crafter at heart, Arica spent countless hours pouring over her ceramics to share with others her love of creating one-of-a-kind works of art.

Not only was her artistry shown in her ceramics, but in her food presentation as well. She loved hosting themed parties with all the fanfare and although she loved being the organizer and mastermind behind it all, she didn’t necessarily want to be in the forefront. She didn’t mind being a hard worker and putting things into motion, but Arica certainly wasn’t seeking any credit as that wasn’t why her heart was in it.

She also enjoyed spending time in her flower gardens tending to the splendor and beauty God had made or attending the grandkids sporting events as their biggest cheerleader and supporter. She loved her family with all her might, however, there was one person she loved most and that was her Savior. She put Him and her service to Him first. She was a dedicated member of Sunrise Baptist Church in Amarillo as she taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, served as Activities Director and was willing to step in and help in any area regarding the children. She was a true servant of God with many jewels in her crown. She continued her work for the Lord at First Baptist Church of Mobeetie.

She was eagerly awaited at Heaven’s gates by her parents.

Those who remain to cherish her memories and remember the legacy she leaves behind are her loving husband of 63 years, Aaron Lancaster of Mobeetie; children, Earnest Lancaster and wife Brenda of Mobeetie, Carlenia Bleeker and husband Everett of Fort Worth; a brother, Ray Corcoran and wife Mary of Weimer, Texas; five grandchildren, Kenneth Lancaster and wife Hali, Trenten Bleeker and wife Jean, Marica Corrigan and husband Steindor, Stormi Snider and husband Cody, Larami Lancaster and eight great-grandchildren; Draven, Willow, David, Olivia, Raelee, Tripp, Brynja and Hinrik as well as numerous extended family members who will all miss her.

Celebration of Life Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 13, 2024, at First Baptist Church of Mobeetie with Pastor Leah Fort officiating. If you wish to pay your respects, viewing will be from 1:00 until the time for the services to commence. Per her wishes, cremation will follow services. The family has entrusted the care of their loved one to Winegeart Funeral Home.

Obituary Preview: Charlotte Yvonne Hall, 81 years young of Pampa, Texas, fought with all her might to stay with her precious family until God finally called her name and took her hand on Monday, January 8, 2024, at her home surrounded by so much love. She was born on November 2, 1942, in Litchfield Park, Arizona to John and Hazel Claunch.

After an eight-month courtship, Charlotte and Chuck definitely celebrated Valentine’s Day, as they married on February 14, 1959, at the First Christian Church in Pampa. It was the beginning of a 64-year adventure throughout life’s ebbs and flows, but with the help of God, they were able to persevere and weather any storm side by side.

Charlotte pursued her college degree and received her RN license allowing her to work at numerous locations over the years such as Highland General Hospital, for Dr. Raymond Hampton, Agape Healthcare, Borger Healthcare, Pampa Regional Medical Center and Coronado Healthcare. Being a nurse and caring for others came so naturally for her and provided an avenue to express her love for people while also fulfilling her desire to please others.

Colorful is a word that could be used to describe Charlotte…not so much because of bright colors, although she was that too, but more so because she was very diverse in her interests and the things that made her happy. She adored playing the piano, especially to worship the Lord, or maybe she simply took in the quiet while oil painting a landscape or reading. Sometimes she found solace in camping and fishing in chaos with her grandbabies, or perhaps she was in the kitchen cooking an amazing meal seasoned with love for family to gather around to watch her favorite Dallas Cowboys. Always wearing a smile, Charlotte was one of a kind. She was headstrong and feisty as all get out, but on the same token, she had a witty sense of humor! She laughed hard, played hard, and loved hard. None was more protective over their family than she, however, Charlotte knew God came first then family and that’s the way she lived her life. She did it her way!

Those who were gathered at Heaven’s Gates awaiting her arrival were her parents; a sister, Virginia Welch; brothers, James and Johnny Claunch and her in-laws, Vernon and Francis Hall.

She leaves to grieve her loss yet cherish her many memories her devoted husband, Chuck Hall of Pampa; a son, Kevin Hall and wife Pam of Orlando, FL; two daughters, Rebecca Pamplin and husband Robert, Janet Anguiano and husband Apolo all of Pampa; ten grandchildren, Chris Welch and wife Tika of Fox, OK, Justin Welch of Pampa, Jeremy Hall of Orlando, Chad Long of Amarillo, Jessica Williams and husband Brandon of Orlando, Angela Tessier and husband Kenny of Orlando, Aaron Anguiano and wife Christina of Pampa, Adam Anguiano of Pampa, Johnny Anguiano and wife Danielle of Amarillo, Austin Anguiano of Pampa; fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Charlotte will lie in state on Wednesday, January 10th from 1pm until 8pm and again Thursday from 9am until 8pm at Winegeart Funeral Home, 300 W. Browning Ave.

Celebration of Life Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 am, Friday, January 12, 2024, at Briarwood Full Gospel Church with Janet Hancock officiating. Entombment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery Mausoleum. The family has entrusted the care of their loved one to Winegeart Funeral Home.

When not spending time with family, Jack sometimes found comfort in watching movies or listening to classic rock, then again he could be seen hangin’ out with his friends throwing darts, or two stepping at the local bar, but you could guarantee he was the ringleader or better known by his friends as “The King”! Jack loved fun, was blessed with an amazing personality, and an uncanny ability to make you smile and laugh no matter how down you were. Overall, he was a reliable dad, stepdad and friend, someone willing to lend a shoulder and an open mind when you needed someone to talk to and he could cook the best food around.

Those who preceded him in death are his mother and two sisters, Michelle Floyd and Rebecca Seyler.

He leaves behind to remember his love and laughter five children, Shane Lambert of Amarillo, Sabrina Chavers of Sayer, OK, Brody Lambert of Amarillo, Michael Putnam of Edmond, OK, Brandon Hathcock of Amarillo; a sister, Theresa Seyler of Amarillo; eight grandchildren, Brianna Putnam, Lucy Hathcock, Lily Hathcock, Candice Hathcock, Jonnah Lambert, Blake Perky and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members that will miss him.

They dated for a few months and on December 3, 2003, they were married. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Pampa in 2004 and he went to work for W&W Fiberglass followed by High Plains Measurement.

He preferred staying at home quietly working on his crossword or Sadako puzzles or perhaps reading anything he could get his hands on. Then other times he could get very loud while watching Nascar races or the Colts play. Another of his favorite things to do when given the opportunity was gambling.

Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Iris Harbour; a brother, Billy Hardy; a sister, Ina Hardy.

Left behind to carry on his memories are his wife of 20 years, Kim Hardy of Pampa; two sons, Allen Hardy currently stationed in Kuwait, Richard Hardy of Iowa; two daughters, Brittany Sanchez of Lubbock, Angela Hovanec of Texas; two brothers, Thomas Harbour of California, Phillip Harbour of Hurst; four sisters; Teresa Hamm of Bloomington, IN, Tina Johnson of Clarendon, Debbie Harbour, Stephanie Harbour both of California and numerous grandchildren.

Obituary Preview: Garry Allan Metts, 74 years old, of Pampa, Texas, passed away at his home on Wednesday, January 3, 2024. He was born on November 18, 1949, to Leroy and Thelma Metts in Coleman, Texas.

He was raised on a ranch in Coleman and attended schools in Brownwood, later attending TSTI where he received a certificate of completion. While working harvest, he met Judi Merideth and eventually they married in 1967 in Dumas. Garry enlisted into the US Navy in October of 1968 and served until October of 1972 during which they lived in California and had their first child, Merideth. Following his tenure in the Navy, he worked with a company that helped to build the Swift plant in Dumas, as well as for Brown & Root. While in Dumas, they had their second child, Garry Allan Metts II. Since Gary was more or less a lifelong mechanic, he and Judi decided to start their own diesel mechanic company, Perco, and ran it for numerous years. Following its dissolution, he formed a new business, Flatlanders Services, and ran it until his retirement.

In his younger years, Garry enjoyed hunting pheasant and quail, but later in life, he took to raising various yard animals such as chickens, goats, and sheep. He loved his dog and living on his own little spread out in the country with his animals. He will be missed by all who had the opportunity to know him.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Those left to remember his antics are his children, Merideth Hall of Wann, OK and Garry Metts II of Pampa and a sister, Linda Holloway and husband Danny of Brownwood, Tx.

Having been a lifelong resident of Pampa, she graduated from Pampa High School. Then, after dating Sam Wyant for a year and a half, they married on February 14, 2014 – they truly were each other’s Valentine! Terry was a stay-at-home mom and housewife which according to her was the best job in the world because she absolutely adored her girls. When she wasn’t on Facebook or TikTok, she could be found hanging out with her friends and family. Usually, the loudest one cracking jokes and laughing, Terry’s presence was easily known in the crowd. She wasn’t afraid to try new things or to venture out to new places in order to meet new people.

Terry wasn’t always full force and boisterous, at times she was extremely mellow and would sit quietly at home while cross stitching baby blankets for those she loved. And although she tried to hide it, she was actually quite a worrier, as she worried about those she loved and wanted only the best for them.

Although Terry was taken too early, she was eagerly awaited by her closest friend and mother, Christine McMahon, into eternity as well as by her two aunts, Rose Keys and Terry Woodward and an uncle, Leo McMahon, Jr.

Those who remain to mourn her loss and cherish her memories are her husband, Sam Wyant of Pampa; two daughters, Annabell McMahon of Texline, Emily McMahon Wyant of Pampa; stepdad, Brock Parker of Pampa and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family who will miss her.
