In his later years he got to where he just couldn’t handle funerals and stopped attending them his excuse was “I want to remember them the way they were the last time I saw them” so with that being said Kimbo’s final wishes were for us to have a BBQ instead, Per Kimbo’s wishes there will be no service.

Why are obituaries important?

Obituaries serve as a way to inform friends, family, and community members of a person's passing, allowing them to pay their respects and offer condolences. They also provide a sense of closure and help to celebrate the life of the deceased.

Who typically writes an obituary?

In most cases, the obituary is written by the family of the deceased or a close friend. Funeral homes and mortuaries may also assist in writing the obituary or provide guidance on what information to include.

What information should be included in an obituary?

A typical obituary includes the person's full name, age, date of birth and death, place of residence, occupation, education, military service, hobbies, and surviving family members. It may also include information about funeral services, memorial donations, and other relevant details.

How long should an obituary be?

The length of an obituary can vary depending on the publication and the family's wishes. Typically, it ranges from 100 to 500 words. Online obituaries often have more flexibility in terms of length.

Can I include photos in an obituary?

Yes, many publications allow you to include one or more photos with the obituary. This can be a nice way to personalize the notice and make it more meaningful to readers.

How do I submit an obituary to a newspaper or online platform?

The submission process varies depending on the publication or platform. You can usually find guidelines on their website or by contacting them directly. Be prepared to provide the necessary information and payment for the notice.

An obituary is a written notice announcing someone's death, while a eulogy is a speech or written tribute delivered at a funeral or memorial service to celebrate the person's life.

Can I include humor in an obituary?

Absolutely! Including humorous anecdotes or quotes can help capture the personality of the deceased and make the obituary more engaging.

How do I handle sensitive information in an obituary?
