His Uncle Jim Coffey, Cousins Renee Strickand and Cindy Coffey. All of his brothers of The Establishment family.

He was born on May 14, 1961 in California. He is an extraordinary person, who was hilarious, passionate, inappropriate, blunt,loyal and stubborn. He was always welcoming and had a special way of making everyone feel seen. Kenny loved his motorcycle and to go out riding with his wife. He loved cooking and bbqing.

Kenny also loved watching Football and could usually be found yelling at the tv when the Green Bay Packers were playing. His daughter Nikol loved watching The Voice with him and shit talking about the contestants and judges. Fatherhood came naturally to Kenneth. His oldest daughter Meaghan said, “There’s a special bond between a father and his first born daughter, my father is my favorite person in this world. He loved being able to say that he was the only person that could get me to sleep as a baby; I would be screaming and fighting sleep, and he would lay my head on his chest and I would just relax. My relationship with him was a lot like that growing up, he was my security. I was safe with my dad. Whether it was a call to just say I love you and miss you, crying in the middle of the night, a big hug and kiss on my forehead, or him picking me up off the bathroom floor, my dad was always there for me. He was the strongest person I’ve ever met, I’ve always been so proud to say how tough my dad is. To know him is to know, for how tough he is, he has a much bigger heart. He was the most caring, loving, understanding and loyal person. My life will never be the same, I will love and miss him for the rest of my life.”

A fighter by nature, Linda fended off this notoriously cruel, indiscriminate and fatal illness as long as she could as she struggled to remain with those she held near and dear to her heart.

As an unsung hero within the desert’s recovery community, Linda generously provided unconditional love and support to those in need and was a tireless defender of the innocent and downtrodden. Dubbed “Mama Bear” or “Mama Linda” by those closest to her, she was the first to speak out against injustice and the last to pass judgment. Smart, exuberant, and fearless, Linda wrangled life with the tenacity of a warrior and the quick wit of a late-night TV host. The lives she enriched with laughter and kindness far outnumber her years spent on this earth, and she will always be remembered for her unwavering commitment to improving the world around her.

Born on October 17, 1956 in Port Chester, N.Y, Linda traveled the East Coast before she and her wife and soulmate, Mari, put roots down in the Coachella Valley in 2000. After working in large-scale food acquisition management for corporations and resort casinos, Linda most recently served as a personal assistant and caregiver, utilizing her storied culinary talents and innate compassion to brighten and sustain the lives entrusted to her.

An avid seeker of meaningful adventure, one of Linda’s most hallowed journeys was attending the unveiling of a memorial plaque at Mount Rushmore that finally credited her grandfather, Luigi Del Bianco, as the popular monument’s chief carver.

Obituary Preview: Carl Donald "Don" Harris, 78, of Palm Desert, California passed away on December 13, 2010 in Palm Desert peacefully surrounded by his loving wife, his family and friends.

He was born August 8, 1932 to Alfred Harris and Jewel (Heath) Harris in Childress, Texas. Don graduated from Coachella Valley High School in 1951 and then served honorably iin the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

He married Jean (Preston) Harris on July 13, 1958 in Indio, California.

Don was the manager for Stockwell & Binney in Indio for 12 years and then a Sales Executive for Carr Paper Company & Unisource for 14 years. True to his trade, after retirement he sold strawberries at the Westfield Mall in Palm Desert.

Don began his service to our community early in his life serving as President of the 20-30 Service Club and Exchange Club. He was a member of the Masons, El Bekal Shriners and the Eastern Star. He served the youth of our community as the Chapter Dad for our local DeMolay Chapter as well as serving on the County and League level for the International Order of DeMolay. He was an avid supporter of the Palm Desert High School Aztec Boy's Water Polo and Swim Team.

Don is survived by his wife, Jean Harris of Palm Desert; his daughter, Donna (Donald) Griffith of Bermuda Dunes, California, and one grandson, Bryce Griffith of Bermuda Dunes. He is also survived by his brother and sister in-laws, Norman and Barbara Preston of Hemet and Theron and Patricia Preston of Escondido as well as many nieces and nephews. Don is also survived by Cyndi Poe and her family as well as Kathy Sloan and her family, whom he considered daughters as well.

A private memorial service will be held in Bermuda Dunes at a later date. Inurnment will be private.
