Vernell (Two Pee) Ragin was born July 7, 1947, in Sumter, SC, to the late Joseph and Christina Andrews Ragin.
He was educated in the public schools of Sumter County.
He was the base guitarist of the gospel group The Palmettos.  He was formally married to Susan Bracey Ragin and to this union, they had a daughter, Monica Ragin Medina.
He was a devoted father, brother, grandfather, and uncle. Vernell was gainfully employed for forty-seven years at Arnold Bakery’s in Greenwich, Connecticut.
He departed his life on Friday, February 4, 2022, at his home in Huntersville, NC. He leaves to cherish his memories: a daughter, Monica (Nelson) Medina of Huntersville, NC; a son, Ronald Bracey of Norwalk, CT; five grandchildren, Nylaina (Scott) Adams, Marion Dantzler,  Sean Bracey, Amber Bracey and Bryant Bracey; four great-grandchildren,  Aaziyah Adams, Ava Bracey, Sakai Adams, and Najee Adams; two brothers, Emmanuel Ragin of Sumter SC and Johnny Ragin, Florence SC; sister, Geneva Bush of Bronx, NY; two brother in laws, George Willis of Columbia, SC and Matthew (Diane) Bracey of Sumter, SC; four sisters in-law, Ann Ragin of the Bronx, NY, Gloria Ragin of Reisterstown, MD, Lou Bracey of Stamford CT and Marilyn Ragin of Sumter, SC; a special friend  Gwendolyn Thomas of Springfield, Massachusetts; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends

In a peaceful sleep on Saturday, January 29, 2022, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ called Ms. Cathline Jennings from her labor to reward.
She was affectionally known as “Mindy” and was born August 23, 1925, in Lee County to the late Leander and Estelle McMillian Jennings.
She received her education in the public schools of Lee County. She accepted Christ as her Savior and was a faithful member of Faith Deliverance Temple, Mayesville, SC. She was employed for greater than 60 years with River Farms. Not only were they her employees, but they were also her second family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four siblings, Hallie Prescott, Jack Jennings, Alex Jennings and Robert Jennings, son-in-law, Robert Lee Jenkins and a nephew, Fred Prescott.
She departed this life on Saturday, January 29, 2022, in Mayesville.
She leaves to cherish her memories; four children, Hallie Jenkins, Shirley (Darrell) Nelson, Linda (Larry) Bradshaw and Cynthia (Bishop Jeffery) Johnson; granddaughter reared in home, Kathy Jennings; special and devoted caregiver, Ms. Renee Severance; thirteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephew’s other relatives and friends.

He was a member of Willow Grove AME Church.
Everyone that knew Lewis, knew he was a quiet and humble man. If anyone needed anything Darrell was always willing to lend a helping hand. He enjoyed fishing and Drag Racing. Until his health failed, he was working in construction for many years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Henry Waiters, Sr, a sister, Patricia Phelps.
Lewis departed this earthly life on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at his home in Horatio, SC.

His co-workers called him “Pops” since he was a “Few” years their senior. He enjoyed working around his home, helping his neighbors and friends when needed.
Raphael was an Elder at Sumter-Seventh-Day Adventist Church and he performed electrical work around the church. He was a lifelong man of faith and enjoyed being in the house of the Lord every Sabbath.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several family members, Eugene Nakhid, Jerome Minors and Bennett Padmore.
He departed this life on Saturday, January 15, 2022, in Sumter, SC.
On January 23, 2022, he would have been celebrating twenty-three years of marriage to his loving wife.

Bobbie Lewis Buckman transitioned into eternal peace on Wednesday January 12, 2022, in Sumter, SC. Bobbie was born on June 29, 1949, in Wedgefield, SC. The fourth son of six children born to the late Deacon Silas, Sr., and Naomi Brown Buckman. Bobbie graduated from Ebenezer High School in 1967. He enlisted in the US Army, where he served in the Vietnam War and was honorably discharge. He was formally employed at Santee Print Work and Cooper Tools. In his early childhood, he was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Pinewood SC
Bobbie’s favorite hobbies were drag racing, working on cars, and spending time with his friends.
In addition to his parents, Bobbie was preceded in death by his wife Patricia, daughter Cassandra, brother, Silas, Jr.,and granddaughter, Destine.

Henry was a member of High Hills AME church and faithfully continued to serve before his illness in his later years.  He helped his church family in maintenance capacities and also served on the Steward Board and Trustee Board as Chair.
Henry was a graduate of Ebenezer High School in the Class of 1963.  He entered the work force early.  He had a long and prosperous career in manufacturing with then DuPont, now Corteva Agriscience.
Henry was devoted to his family and loved spending time and just fellowshipping with them.  Henry enjoyed watching football and car racing.  He also loved being outside farming, raising animals and doing lawn work.
Henry was preceded in eternal life by his parents and siblings, Randy Hunter, Dianne Hunter, Howard Hunter, Rickey Hunter and Dante’ Hunter.
His memory will be cherished by his two daughters, Candace Michelle (Leslie Scott) Owens and Kimberly Hunter-Crawford (Adarryll), all of Sumter County, SC; his beloved grandchildren, Courtney Danielle, Jordan Noelle, Jaylen Lee, Leslie Scott (Jr.), Aaron Christopher and Darryll Andrew; his siblings, David (Ella) Hunter of Columbia, SC; Janie R. Mia Richardson, Emery Richardson, Jace Richardson; Shirley Durant (a loving sister of whom he admired). Mable Floyd (a special niece of whom he cherished also as a loving sister). James Carter “Shortie” (a beloved brother of whom he spent most of his life with joyfully); five special nieces, Delores Prince, Cynthia McCants, Marchelle Jones, Tamara Durant, and a grandniece, Kema Durant of which he adored. He also cherished “The Carter Boys” Kenny Carter, Tony Carter, Bruce Carter, Wendell Carter and his beloved niece Jan Carter.
In closing, throughout the many years he carried a genuine love for his extended Friendship Family. We will all miss Mr. Sidney Carter; for he was a vibrant soul who was family oriented,and lived a fulfilling life.

Mr. James (Jim) Howard McKinney, Sr. was born in Rock Hill, SC on July 28, 1943, to Mr. Johnny and the late Mattie B. McKinney.  He departed this life on Sunday, December 26, 2021.
Howard (Jim) attended West End Elementary School and Emmett Scott High School in Rock Hill.  Classmates described Howard as a class clown who was always mischievous and making people laugh.  In high school, he played the trumpet in the marching band.  His love of music and playing the trumpet led him to perform in a jazz band.  Also, Howard (Jim) attended Friendship Junior College.  He was drafted into the Army to serve in the Vietnam War where he served approximately  two years.
His first church home was Pineville AME Zion Church in Rock Hill, where he was a member of the youth choir and usher board.  Howard (Jim) was a dedicated member of Jehovah Missionary Baptist Church.  He served in various ministries such as the Deacon Ministry, Men’s Choir, Brotherhood Ministry, and Evangelism Ministry.
He served as President for the Crosswell Neighborhood Association and an   intake counselor for United Ministries.  He worked alongside others to create a safe, clean community and assist families during times of crisis.
Howard (Jim) was the ultimate salesman.  He worked as a sales representative for Sunshine Biscuit, Keebler and Nabisco companies which lead him into insurance sales.  He opened the McKinney Agency in 1997.
Howard (Jim) leaves his wife of forty years, Ruth McKinney, his father, Johnny McKinney of Rock Hill, SC, two daughters, Amy (Steve) Salters of Spartanburg, SC, Quinn Fortune of College Park, GA, four sons, James     Howard McKinney, Jr. (Sonny) of Rock Hill, SC, Dr. Johnathan (Nikki) McKinney of Harrisburg, NC, Tega (Nakia) McKinney of Lilburn, GA, and Cap. John (Winter) McKinney of Fountain, CO, one sister, Mattie (Garfield) Miller of Charlottle, NC, one brother, Johnny Lee (Carolyn) Graham of    Brunswick, GA, four brothers-in-law, Booker T (Dorothy) Fortune, Melvin (Teresa) Fortune, Daryle (Ella) Fortune all of St. Charles, SC, Reese Fuller of Florida, thirteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
