William D. Shank - April 06, 1950 - May 12, 2024

Departed: 05/12/2024 (Twin Falls)
Obituary Preview: William (Bill) Daniel Shank, 74, passed away Sunday, May 12th after a courageous battle against esophageal cancer.
Bill was born in Twin Falls and spent most of his life in Filer. He graduated from Filer High School, where he earned the moniker of Mr. Football of 1968. He then turned that into a track and football scholarship at the College of Idaho.
He spent his career raising livestock and farming a myriad of crops. He said that farming was a great fit since it didn’t require a dress code or drug tests.
Bill had lots of fun playing his favorite thing “The Golfing Game” as he called it. He got a hole-in-one on 3-18-22 which thrilled him just as much as the birth of his children.
He said that people liked him because he made them feel smart. Bill’s wit and humor was a big part of his personality. One of his many sayings was that people could get just as full on bad food as they could on good food.
He always tried to make someone’s day a little bit better. He loved baseball, mainly the Seattle Mariners. He was an avid reader. It seemed like he always had a book in his hand.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents Dan Shank and Florence Shank, sister Marian (Bob) Hancock, and brother-in-law Richard Reimer.
He leaves behind his wife of thirty-two years, Teresa, two children, Christy (Seth) Ault, and granddaughter Abby of Filer and Danny Shank of Boise, sister Judy Reimer of Nebraska, sister Linda (Dennis) Moon of Twin Falls, and brother Randy (Tracee) of Filer.
A celebration of life will be held at the Rock Creek restaurant in Twin Falls on Tuesday, May 21st from 5 - 7pm. This will give family and friends a chance to say goodbye.

Arthur Gailyn Henry - October 01, 1934 - May 07, 2024

Departed: 05/07/2024 (Twin Falls)
Obituary Preview: Arthur Gailyn Henry (Gay), age 89, was released from his failing body as he passed into the next life on May 7, 2024, in Twin Falls, Idaho.
Gay was born on October 1, 1934, in Twin Falls, Idaho to Raymond Franklin Henry and Pearl Naylor Henry. Gay was the middle of three children. He lived his entire life in two houses just one eighth of a mile apart. Dad loved the farming community and was very content never to stray too far away from home. He attended Eden Elementary and then Eden High School. He double majored in business and education from Idaho State College where he also played on the baseball and basketball team for a portion of his college experience. After college he returned to Eden and went into the family business delivering bulk fuel to the surrounding farming community and running Henry’s Service.
He served in the Army Reserves and completed his basic training at Fort Ord in Monterey County, CA.
Dad was shy when it came to dating. His father threatened to arrange a date for him to his senior prom if he didn’t ask someone. Lucky for him, a new girl moved into Eden around 1960 and their paths crossed at the local café. Dad married Linda Clarice Heward on March 30, 1961, in the Idaho Falls Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They started building their family home and moved in six months after they were married. They have lived in that same home for 63 years. Dad was determined to die there also but he was thrown a curve ball when Linda broke her pelvis and was sent to Salt Lake in February for surgery and rehabilitation. He had suffered from progressing Parkinson’s Disease that had taken away his mobility. He was a man that never sat still. He thrived on working and serving. It was devastating for him to spend his days in a chair wishing he could do the things he loved to do.
Together Gay and Linda had three children, Rhonda Miller of Superior, Wyoming, Shauna Glover (Kent) of Sandy, UT, and Arthur R. Henry (Jamie) of Eden. They have 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Dad and Mom were active members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints their whole marriage. Though dad loved to socialize, he hated speaking in public and preferred to serve behind the scenes. He served as a men’s sports coach, in the bishopric for seven years, high priest group leader, financial clerk, church farm worker and temple worker for seven years. Even when he could no longer attend church services, you could find him every Sunday morning listening to ‘Music and the Spoken Word’ then on to church services broadcast on KBYU.
Dad loved to work. He was very focused on providing for his family. After working at the station during the day, he would farm the small farm behind their home. He was equally committed to supporting the community and those in need. He and mom worked tirelessly in their huge garden and loved to share the fruits of their labor with those in the community. In 2012, they were recognized for their many years of dedication to the community of Eden. Dad found time for hunting and fishing for most of his life and then focused more on golf as he got older. He and mom loved to support the Valley Vikings at all their games. They were also awarded an Outstanding Sportsmanship Award from Valley High School.
Dad is survived by his wife; Linda, his three children and their spouses, 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and his brother, Robert F. Henry (Colleen).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Franklin Henry and Pearl Naylor Henry, as well and his sister, Ella Rae Felsted.
Dad worked hard his whole life and made life better for his family, his friends, and his community. He has earned the right to rest from his labors though I’m sure he’s already eager for his next assignment.
We love you Dad.
Services to be held at the Hazelton Ward (531 Middleton Ave., Hazelton, ID) of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Monday, May 13th at 1:30 pm. A visitation (closed casket) will be held at 12:30 pm at the church. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park (2296 Kimberly Road), Twin Falls, ID immediately following the funeral services.

Catherine Mari Floyd - September 13, 1957 - April 20, 2024

Departed: 04/20/2024 (Twin Falls)
Obituary Preview: Catherine Mari Floyd, formally known as Catherine Ellen Mari, age 66, of Twin Falls, ID, passed away on Saturday, April 20th 2024, surrounded by loved ones, family and friends alike.
She was born in Palo Alto, CA on September 13th 1957 to her beloved parents David Max Mari and Mary Ellen Truxaw. Cathy lived in Palo Alto, CA until she was 3 years of age, then the family moved to Anaheim where she would spend most of her childhood. Cathy graduated from Dana Hills High School with Honors and multiple scholarship offers. She then accepted an offer from UCLA where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree with a Major in Italian and a Minor in Sociology.
Cathy accomplished so many amazing things in her life, it created a rainbow of awe behind her for all to see. She was a world traveler and visited Europe, Italy, Hong-Kong, Turkey, Bahamas, many places in the US such as Washington DC, Alaska, Hawaii, and mostly everywhere in California worth visiting. These are just a few to name on her lengthy list of travels. Cathy lived her life to the fullest and gave her heart and soul to her family and her community.
On September 4th, 1982, Catherine Ellen Mari married Kenneth Ray Floyd, SR. becoming Catherine Mari Floyd. Ken already had 2 teenage boys, so Cathy became not only an adoring wife, but an amazing bonus mom. The Floyd’s resided in Granite Bay, CA until 1998, then made the big move to Twin Falls, Idaho where they found their forever home overlooking the Snake River Canyon. Their house already had the perfect view, now it just needed the special touch of a home that only Cathy could bring. With a lot of hard work and patience they transformed a house on the canyon rim, to a beautiful home enriched by gatherings of family and friends over the years.
Cathy was such an accomplished woman, words simply do not do her justice, but here are a few of her highlights. She worked at and eventually ran her own travel agency. Cathy was able to share her love of travel in the form of a guide, as well as, set up personal travel for her to go on trips with family and friends. She wore many hats for CASA, a children’s advocate program, which could not have been more near and dear to her heart. Any charity cause for that matter and she would be right there, ready to support in any way she could. Cathy also did all the behind the scene work for her husband’s company, Web Specialties. On top of all that she was a devoted Nini, which was her spin on an Italian grandmother. All the grandchildren called her that, because she was much too young to be a grandmother. She was the best all-around person and anyone who had the privilege to know her will forever be changed for the better.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband; Kenneth Floyd Sr., parents; David Max Mari and Mary Ellen Brosnan, brother; John, her step son; Robert Floyd, as well as her beloved pets; Sadie, Nellie, Max, Bella and Yeller.
She is survived by her siblings; Jim, Jan, Joanne, Christy and Ed, step son; Kenneth Floyd, Jr., grandchildren; Meagan, Joshua, Emma, Breanna, Jayde, Kenny C., and Tessa, as well as her great-grandchildren; Jay D’M, Sawyer, Reagan, and Luca.

Lee Winborg Walker - April 04, 1943 - April 13, 2024

Departed: 04/13/2024 (Twin Falls)
Obituary Preview: Lee Winborg Walker, our beautiful, wife, mother, nana, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend passed away at her home surrounded by family on April 13, 2024, after a long, devastating battle with dementia. She loved to celebrate birthdays and in true mom fashion, she gave us one last one to celebrate with her. She turned 81 on April 4th. Though our hearts are broken and our grief immeasurable, we know she is finally at peace, enjoying many reunions in heaven, and reliving all of her wonderful, happy memories that she was robbed of for far too long.
Mom met her sweetheart, Donald E. Walker on a blind date that years later she would discover wasn’t so blind when Dad confessed to taking a sneak peek before taking her ice skating. After many more dates and probably a few more confessions, they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls temple on June 7, 1963. They began their married life in Pocatello Idaho before their big move to Goleta, California. This is where mom would discover her love of the beach and the joy of raising her (I’m sure these are her exact words) “nearly-perfect, wonderfully talented” six children. Unforeseen circumstances would eventually move them to Hinkley, California, and then to Westminster, Colorado where she loved to be in the mountains photographing wildlife. In 2019 they settled down to enjoy retirement in Twin Falls, Idaho.
Mom was a spitfire and on more than one occasion, she’d tell us, “Dynamite comes in small packages,” and boy was she a small package at just 4’9’’. She had a zest for life that would often lead her to roads she’d never been on before. Most of us call that being lost, but for her, it was a happy accident. “Let’s just see where it goes,” she’d say, and she loved looking around that next corner to see what trouble she could find. Her curiosity, love of photography, and up-for-anything mentality took her on a lot of adventures with Dad, and misadventures with her best friend, Jeanie Riley. Her talents were plentiful, (now you know where her kids get it from) and if she couldn’t take a class to learn it, she taught herself. She sewed everything from Easter dresses to Christmas stockings and stuffed frogs. Everything was made from scratch including the best scones and sourdough pancakes ever. Mom could crochet anything and made sure each of her grandchildren had a beautiful baby blanket to come home from the hospital in. She was funny, her favorite color was purple, and she loved her music—all music, (and to our astonishment when looking through her massive CD collection, even the rock band, Poison) but most especially, Elvis Presley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul E. Winborg, and Florence “Lou” Winborg, and her two brothers, Paul F. Winborg and James “Jim” Winborg all of whom became her loving, doting, forever family through adoption on July 20, 1948.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 61 years, Donald E. Walker, her children and their spouses, Ross Walker (Chelly), Janet Walker, Caterina Campbell (Ron), Denise Walker, Nichole Arsement (Charles), and Steven Walker (Trista) along with 17 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren (with 2 on the way), and 1 great-great-grandchild, along with numerous nieces and nephews, brothers and sisters she gained through marriage.
We know you’re skipping down those streets of heaven, Mom, peaking around every new corner and the next one, and the next one, and the next one hoping Elvis Presley will be around one of them. Now that you have all of your memories and recognize the faces you loved so fiercely, we know you’ll be watching over us all until we meet again.
The family wishes to thank Hospice Visions of Idaho and her incredible caregivers, especially Lindsey, Carl, Amanda, and Tanya for the extraordinary, loving care they provided during the most difficult time of Mom’s life. Mom would want you to know that she loved you too. We cannot tell you enough how grateful we are to you for your compassion, friendship, and the love you showed not only to our mother but to Dad and our family as well. In addition, we’d like to thank her primary care physician, Dr. Baker for doing everything he could to keep her healthy so she could fight this lengthy battle.

Edwin Lawrence Muegerl - April 19, 1928 - April 08, 2024

Departed: 04/08/2024 (Twin Falls)
Obituary Preview: Edwin Lawrence Muegerl was born April 19, 1928 in Twin Falls, Idaho to Anton and Mary (Mladek) Muegerl. He was the youngest of seven children. He was raised on the family farm south of Twin Falls and helped farm with his oldest brother Lee. He lived his life as a devout Catholic and attended St. Edward's School through 8th grade and then attended Twin Falls High School.
Ed joined the Army in 1951 and served in Nagasaki, Japan until 1952. He returned to the family farm and alongside his brother Lee, spent the next 50 plus years growing crops such as beans, corn, wheat, and sugar beets. He loved his simple but fulfilling life. He was great with numbers and could tell you the price of beans and how many sacks he harvested in a given year. Oh, don’t forget the tractor stories.
Ed and Lee continued to have the ground farmed into their retirement while still living in the farmhouse. They both eventually moved into Woodstone/Heritage Assisted Living as Lee was in his 90’s. Margaret Jane Courter - May 24, 1958 - April 06, 2024

Departed: 04/06/2024 (Twin Falls)
Obituary Preview: Margaret was born May 24, 1958, and was named Margaret Jane Mikkelsen by her birth parents, Ralph L Mickelson, and Emma Ellen Green Mikkelsen. At the age of 7, she was adopted by Gerald Robbins and Arvilla McAllister Robbins who changed her name to Jane Wilma Robbins.
In 1981, just one year after her 2nd child was born, she went to college at Boise State University to become a nursing assistant. Margaret also attained more training in 1997 and in the year 2000 at the College of Southern Idaho to further her education. Most recently, her career was that of a hospice caregiver until her retirement. She was very good at it and cared about the people she helped very much.
She had two sons who challenged her constantly, gave her purpose, worked hard for, and that she loved more than anything or anyone on this earth; and then she had grandchildren. She was so proud of each and every one of them.
She helped many of her son’s friends and many people that she didn’t even know. She was strong and, as a matter of fact, worked hard, and she didn’t take crap from anyone. Margaret was never judgmental, and no matter what we were going through or up to, we could always be ourselves, and tell her exactly how we felt and what we were thinking.
She was an amazing Mother, Grandma, Sister, and Friend. We will always carry her in our hearts and be grateful for her presence and influence in our lives. We will never forget her. We honor her because she treated us with such honor, and so often put us before herself.
There will be a memorial service honoring Margaret on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, starting at 2:00 pm, held at White- Reynolds Funeral Chapel; 2466 Addison Ave., Twin Falls, ID 83301.
