Funeral services will be held on Thursday April 21st, 2022, at 10:00am DIRECTLY at St. Mary Catholic Church located at 525 N. Broad Street in Griffith with Fr. Keith Virus celebrating. Burial will follow at St. John-St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Hammond, IN.
Friends may meet with the family on Wednesday April 20th from 4-8:00 pm at White Funeral Home located at 921 W. 45th Avenue (Glen Park Ave.) in Griffith.
Wilma graduated from East Chicago Roosevelt High School Class of “68”. She was a self-employed beautician (Beauty Corner) and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Griffith Historical Society. Wilma enjoyed sewing, cross stitching, and taking care of her grandchildren.

Timothy was a loyal Chicago sports fan, an avid photographer, a short stories writer and a budding sketch artist. He loved to watch classic movies--especially the Marx Brothers--as well as read comic books and watch Batman. He was kind and funny, and he loved his grandchildren dearly. He was a dedicated hospitality professional.

From those children came 28 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind one sister Hyla (Tyler) Hughes, one brother Randy (Sheila) Summers, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband, one son Ritchie, 2 brothers Bob and Roger Summers, one sister Nyla Holbert, and one great granddaughter Rachel.
Services will be held on Monday March 7th , 2022 at 7:00 p.m. at White Funeral Home located at 921 W. 45th Ave. (Glen Park Ave.) Griffith, Indiana. Friends may meet with the family on Monday March 7th, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at White Funeral Home.
She loved being a cub scout den leader. She was a homemaker and a faithful member of Hammond Baptist Church. She also loved to play bingo and euchre.

Suzy was a loving mom to Wesley DeWitt. Sister of Linda Carlton, Michael Koonce, and Howard Koonce Sr. Grandmother to Kayla Johnson, Jason White, and Layne DeWitt and Great Grandmother to Rosalie Garcia. Suzy was very loved by several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.
Suzy is preceded in death by her parents Willard and LaVerna Koonce, sister Carolyn Koonce, sister-in-law, Peggy Koonce, and nieces Michele and Mary Koonce.

Obituary Preview: Michael Wayne “Skully” Laws age 56 of Gary passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at home with his fiancée,  Margie by his side. He was born in Hammond, Indiana July 6th, 1965. Michael was the son of James, his wife Barbara of Dundee, KY. And his mother the late Barbara Getridge (2015). Michael grew up in North Hammond and graduated from Hammond Technical Vocational High School, class of 1983. He was a lifelong resident of the region. Michael’s teen, and early twenties were spent as a cook at Charley Horse Restaurant in Munster, Indiana. He then turned to Steel Fabrication as a career and was most proud of the fabrication he did in the construction of both Cabela’s and Bass Pro Shop.
Michael was an avid motorcycle rider and loved to ride as much as possible. He enjoyed the time spent with friends on bike runs and hanging out. He also supported the Military and Veteran causes. Michael is preceded in death by his mother Barbara nee Gray Getridge, stepfather Robert Getridge and sister Michelle Hicks.
Left to Honor his memory are his father James (Barbara) Laws of Dundee, Kentucky, daughter Megan Laws of Schererville, Indiana, brother John (Dawn) Laws of Cedar Lake, Indiana, his fiancée Margie Coulter of Gary, stepchildren Amy Hemphill, Rachel Coulter and Joshua Coulter. His niece Amanda Laws, nephews Jaxson Laws, Gregory Monestere, Paul Monestere, grandchildren Jacob Hemphill, Cale Hemphill, and Madelyn Coulter. Esther was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved to have big family dinners for all her children and grandchildren at her house when she was younger. She had a green thumb and was a great cook. Esther belonged to the: Kingdom of Jehovah’s Witnesses-Highland Indiana. They took Esther under their wing and made sure to get her to church and activities since Esther did not drive. Esther will be greatly missed by all.
