Kenneth M. Finch, 86 of Sidney  Center passed away Sat. April 16, 2022 at the Delhi Rehabilitation and Nursing Center with his daughter, Donna by his side. He was born on Aug. 4, 1935 to Elwood & Marian (Empet) Finch in Sidney.  He married the former, Dorothy Dunshee on Nov. 20, 1954 in Sidney Center.  He was a retired Farmer and Cattle Dealer.  He was a well known John Deere Tractor Puller, with his 4320 A/K/A “ Finch’s Fury.”: He was an avid Deer Hunter.  He will be remembered for riding his “John Deere Gator” around Sidney Center.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, 6 children and their families, Robin & Glen Galley, Sidney Center, Phyllis & Kenny Crandall, Mt. April 13, 2022.  He was the second of 3 children, born to John & Helen (Snyder) Dahl.  He married the former Shirley E. Loucks on Aug. 31, 1985 in Otego, NY.  Bob was a wedding photographer in the Sidney area for many years.  He later went on to work for Amphenol Corp. in Sidney and then later became a Realtor in Sidney.  Bob was an avid sportsman and passed away doing what he loved best, his fishing.
He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Shirley E. (Loucks) Dahl, 4 children, Christine Dahl, Oregon, Jennifer (Chad) Seiler, Calif., Lisa Short, Unadilla, & Robert (Beth) Kouse, Clinton, NY, 7 grandchildren, Morgan & Mason, Stella & Sebastian, Kyle & Megan, Alexander, 2 great grandchildren, Lacey & Morgan, sister, Sondra Dahl, Interlaken, NY, and also a sister-in-law, several brothers-in-law and other family members.  He was predeceased by his brother, Jack Dahl.

Oneonta, Tina & Scott Worden, Franklin, Lisa & Tim Gould, Unadilla, Donnette Russell, Binghamton, 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, his mother, Kathleen Strain, Unadilla, 2 sisters, Eileen Hitchcock & Pete Skoglund, Unadilla, Bonnie Bachman, Delhi and also several nieces and nephews and his cat, “Izzy.”  He was predeceased by his brother Charles and father, Charles.
He was a retired employee of Amphenol Corp. In Sidney after 42 years.  He loved singing karaoke, fishing, camping and most importantly spending time with his family.  He also loved “tinkering” with antique radios and small engines.

Obituary Preview: Andre Alston was gifted to the world on December 22, 1958, he was one of eight children.  Andre resided in Oneonta, NY. He was married to Renee Speller-Alston for more than forty years.  Andre Alston took his last breath on Monday March 28,2022, at his home surrounded by loved ones.
Andre is preceded in death by his parents, Billie and Willamae, brothers Stanley, Gregory, sister Michelle and daughter LaTanya Thomas. Andre attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses for his spiritual food.
The Speller-Alston family came to the Oneonta area in 1993, from South Valley, in the Roseboom area and prior to that Harlem, NY. Andre worked many years as a healthcare professional, which was a skill he passed on to his grandson D'Andre.  D'Andre worked for his grandfather, as his personal care assistant to the very end of his days with the family.  Andre also worked for ARC Otsego, the Otsego Manor, and Oneonta Job Corps Academy, in the capacity of Residential Advisor.
Survivors of this patriarch, friend and family-man, include his brothers Bernard, Micheal, Ronald and Winston followed by his children Andre, Shawn, Erika and Andrew; adding to the children Kirchelle and Monique who were raised by Renee and Andre at the death of their mother. Last, but certainly not least daughter of brother Micheal, Radiah.
The Speller-Alston family is very large-Andre is survived by his sister-in law, two brothers-in-law, cousin Jackie, along with a host of other cousins ,nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, eight grandchildren, along with too many friends and family to name here. The Speller-Alston family loves and appreciates each and everyone of you(you know who you are)!

Donald Leonard Wood age 77 of Unadilla, NY passed away on Fri. January 21, 2022 after battling a long illness.  Donald was born May 19, 1944 in Cannonsville, NY to Jenny (Barnhart) and Earl Wood Sr.
Although Donald had little formal education he was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family. He was a proud family man not ever to waiver on his commitment to give his family the very best right up till the end. He loved everyone and had a great love and bond with his grandsons Justin Roach and Matthew Ellis. Donald was selfless with his time, always making an effort to create memories with his family. Donald would drive in a blizzard to pick his grandchildren up for the holidays and drive cross country to take another to meet a new love. Family Sunday Supers were always his favorite; he carried this tradition on from his mother Jenny. He loved to sponsor off shore fishing trips, amusement park adventures and of course, the Delaware County Fair.
Donald was a dedicated employee for S.J. Bailey & Sons in Walton, NY for over forty years and a part time quarryman. After the closing of S.J. Bailey & Sons Donald became a successful Full time quarryman.
Donald was predeceased by his first wife, Ellen (Fairchild), his parents, Jenny (Barnhart) and Earl Wood Sr., his sisters Joyce, Gertrude and Sherry, his brother Earl Jr.
He is survived by his wife Christine, our children Cailyn Wood, Collin Wood and stepsons Dylan Gass and Dustin Gass.  His children, Barbara Wood, Todd Wood, Ginger Roach and Kenneth Wood, his sisters Jean, Georgiana and Margaret,  many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Jan. 4, 2022.  Ellen was born in Sidney, NY and raised In Unadilla.  She graduated from Unatego Jr./Sr. High School in June of 1972.  Ellen was born on June 7, 1953 to Lyle and Florence Leona (Howe) DeMorier.  She was predeceased by her father, Lyle, her mother, Leona, and her brother, Neil DeMorier of Sidney.  ‘
She is survived by her son, Corey DeMorier of Johnson City, her 3 grandchildren, Austin (23), Aidan (18), and Ashlyn (12) as well as her nieces, Lacey DeMorier of NC and Leslie DeMorier of Oneonta.  She is also survived by her cousin, Terry Derouche-Stevens, Uncle Dick Stevens and his wife, Violeta Stevens all of Sidney.
Ellen was a hard working simple woman.  She retired after 40 years of service to Unatego Central School and enjoyed her last days as a stay at home grandmother.  Ellen loved her grandchildren and her small family as much as anyone or anything.  She enjoyed the simpler things in life such as country music, family dinners and her favorite TV shows.  Ellen loved her work mates, they were her extended family and she spoke of them more than often.  Ellen loved and cherished her brother, Neil’s daughters, Lacey and Leslie.  She often spoke of how she wished she could see them more, but she was beyond proud of them both.  Ellen spent her entire life in Unadilla, where she was raised by her mother and father.  She settled on Kilkenny Road where she loved flowers, her birds and the serenity of a small country town.  Ellen was a stand up and honorable woman who always took care of those she loved.  She will be beyond missed by those who loved her.

Ron was predeceased by his parents, his brothers, Robert (Bob) & Richard (Dick) Fuller.  Surviving siblings are: Linda Bourn, Raymond (Ray) Fuller, Laura Kirchbaum, Lorraine Giroux & randy Fuller and also several in-laws, nieces, nephews and longtime friends.
Ron was a MP in the US Army serving in Korea.  He was Honorably Discharged in 1962.  He was a lifelong truck driver for several companies, retired from Husted in 2008.  Ron enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, great grandchildren, family pets and traveling around the country in their camper.  He was a John Deere enthusiast and enjoyed his antique tractors, tractor pulls and antique tractor shows.

He is survived by 2 sisters Patricia & late Sidney (Spike)Jones, Bennettsville, NY,  Margeret & late Howard Sands, Florida, and 2 brothers Donald Baumes, Unadilla, NY, Stephen Baumes, Wilder Tenn. and also several nieces and nephews.
He was also predeceased by a brother, Philip C & Lois (Clapperton) Baumes, Unadilla, NY, and a sister Glenna & AC Light, Florida.
He was retired from the Unadilla School System where he was School Bus Driver and Janitor.  He had worked on several farms in the Unadilla and Franklin area.   Many would remember him from the Chambers Sales Stables where he lived across the street for many years. He was a member of the Unadilla Fire Dept. for many years.  He was a member of the Sidney Moose Lodge and was an Army Disabled Veteran.

Miranda “Mandy” Wright, 35 of Franklin died unexpectedly on Thurs. Sept. 23, 2021.  Mandy was one of the strongest, most caring, kindest women to ever walk this earth and our family was blessed to have her.  She was born on Aug. 30, 1986 to Donna & Ralph (Mondore) Amatuccio Sr.  She was the beautiful wife to Robert Wright and mother to their 4 children:  Tamara, Isiah, Issac & Zander Wright.
For the past year, Mandy was fighting an uphill battle against leukemia.  Never once did she allow leukemia to be what defined her.  Instead, she continued to be known as “Mama Mandy” to many who knew her.  She was the person that you could call no matter the time of day and for any reason.  She was dedicated to supporting her family and anyone she met.  This was shown through her volunteer work with the Franklin Emergency Squad, her work with the Franklin Central School and her desire to become a nurse.
She is also survived by 2 brothers, Lucas Amatuccio, Ralph & Jamie Amatuccio, a sister, Melaina Amatuccio, 5 nieces & nephews, Tucker, Taylor, Abby, Madi, & Charles, her grandmother, Dolores Harp, mother-in-law and family, Pamela Wright, special friend, Joanna Banks and her children, Sierra & Joshua and also several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Alice J. Wilber, 82 of East Sidney passed away on Wed. Aug. 25, 2021.  She was the daughter of Theron & Alletta (Ostrander) Howland.  She married Earl J. Wilber on March 28, 1958 in Walton.  Earl predeceased her on June 2, 2021.  She is survived by 2 children, John & Kathy Wilber, Wells Bridge, Teresa  Adell, Otego, 4 grandchildren, John Jr. (Jen), Dustin (Tammy), Stefanie (Jason), Brad (Heather), 10 great grandchildren.  She was also predeceased by a grandson, Andrew, and brother, Theron Jr. She is also survived by sister, Louise Craig, Unadilla and sister-in-law, Pam Howland, Walton and also several nieces and nephews.
She worked for many years with her husband, Earl at Wilber’s Garage.  She was a loving mother and loved and enjoyed bowling.  She was an Honorary Auxiliary Member of the Wells Bridge Fire Dept.  She was a member Wells Bridge Senior Citizens and the First Presbyterian Church of Unadilla.
