Mason Liam Newstead - March 28, 2019 - March 21, 2024

Departed: 03/21/2024 (San Mateo)
Obituary Preview: Mason Liam Newstead, a beacon of joy and love, passed away on March 21, 2024, in Welaka, Florida, at the tender age of 4. Born on March 28, 2019, in Bangor, Maine, Mason was a spirited and endearing child whose laughter and warmth left an indelible mark on the hearts of everyone he encountered.
Mason was the cherished son of Kodiea and Adam Newstead, who provided him with a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. Though his time with us was brief, the impact Mason made on his family and community was profound. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Patty Newstead, and joins her in peaceful rest, leaving a legacy of kindness and curiosity that will not be forgotten.
In addition to his loving parents, Mason is survived by his paternal grandfather, Kenneth Newstead of Satsuma, FL; his maternal grandparents, Dianne Wilk of Welaka, FL; his great grandparents, Cheryl Denoncourt and her husband, Alfred, of Ossipee, New Hampshire; Janice Rouselle of Malone, NY; and Mary Ellen McCaskill of Port St. Lucie, FL. Mason also leaves behind his adoring aunt, Heather Desotell and her husband of Redford, NY; and his uncle, Corey Newstead of Crescent City, FL. Each of these family members played a special role in his life, contributing to his joyful spirit and loving nature.
Mason's interests were simple yet profound in their ability to connect him with others and the world around him. He loved playing at the park, where his joyful laughter would echo as he slid down the slides and swung high into the sky. He also enjoyed taking joyful jumps on his trampoline. Jumping was more than just a pastime for Mason; it was his way of expressing the boundless energy and enthusiasm he had for life. His friendly waves to passersby were a testament to his kind and welcoming heart. Mason's enthusiasm for life was evident in the way he jumped with excitement and took walks through the Town of Welaka, greeting neighbors and making friends along the way.
One of Mason's favorite activities was climbing up to his daddy, feeling the safety and love in his father's strong embrace. These moments of closeness and affection encapsulated the bond Mason shared with his parents-a bond that will continue to resonate with them forever. Each evening, the day would wind down with cuddles from his mom before bed, a time of quiet connection and love.
Mason was loving, kind, and intelligent beyond his years. His bright eyes reflected a deep understanding and empathy, and his eagerness to explore and learn about the world was truly remarkable. Those who knew Mason were touched by his gentle spirit and his ability to spread happiness effortlessly.
As we say goodbye to Mason Liam Newstead, we celebrate the profound joy he brought into our lives. His time on earth was a gift, and he taught us all to cherish the simple pleasures of life-the beauty of a sunny day at the park, the excitement of a new adventure, and the warmth of a loving hug. Mason's memory will be treasured and kept alive in the stories and hearts of those who loved him.
In honor of Mason's spirit, let us continue to embrace the world with the same kindness and love that he showed to everyone he met. While we will miss his physical presence, Mason's legacy will endure through the countless lives he touched.
Mason's family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for the love and support they have received during this difficult time. They find comfort in knowing that Mason is now at peace, and his light will continue to shine brightly in the memories we hold dear.
