Roberta Anderson - February 01, 2024 - February 16, 2024

Departed: 02/16/2024 (Jersey City)
Obituary Preview: Roberta Anderson was born in Jersey City, New Jersey on March 26, 1966.  Born to the parents of Mary Roberts and the late Robert Clark Jr. “Berta” as she is affectionately called by close friends and family; is a graduate of Whitney M. Young Jr. School (PS#15) and Henry Snyder High School.
Roberta dedicated many years as a certified home health aide. She served the elderly and homebound patients. Berta had a passion for caring for others and spent invaluable time with her nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. It was guaranteed that she had a voice in their upbringing and how things were going to be done. The parents said one thing, however it was always Auntee’s way in the end. We're thankful for everything she's done and been to our family.
Roberta was the life of the party. When the cousins got together, the room would be filled with laughter or Roberta setting things straight! Berta loved celebrating every holiday and would be the first one to text you a celebratory GIF, even for Presidents day. Berta was known for opening her doors for anyone in need and being in the window of her apartment building. If you were ever in the area you knew to call her name and she would pop her head out to greet you with a smile.  Berta loved to cook and everyone looked forward to her Thanksgiving dinner. The family looked forward to her meals as she learned from her mom, Mary. They held a special bond and would talk three to four times daily.
Roberta is preceded in death by her father, Robert Clark Jr. She leaves to mourn her passing, her mother Mary Roberts and Stepfather, Henry Roberts (Brooksville, FL.) Her husband, Timothy Jones (Jersey City, NJ). One stepdaughter, Tiffany Williams (Jersey City, NJ), Two step grandchildren, Two sisters, Cynthia Anderson (Jersey City, NJ) and Angel Bowman Clark (Philadelphia, PA). Five brothers, Robert Clark (Bronx, NY), Paul Anderson (Binghamton, NY), Travis Roberts (Jersey City, NJ), Tyrone (Darla) Roberts (Jonesburg, Georgia)  and Henry (Yvette) Roberts Jr. (Orlando, FL), Godmother, Edna Williams (Jersey City, NJ) a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family and friends whom she loved dearly and who loved her. Berta had pet parakeets, Diamond, Dante, OG and Pretty Boy who were her babies. When allowed out of their cage, you would see them kissing her on the nose. She truly spoiled them as they were her children.
Roberta will sorely be missed. Our family is forever changed.
Let the family know you care by leaving your condolences, favorite memories and thoughts and prayers on the Tribute Wall.
