Obituary Preview: Opal Gasser of Arlington, Tennessee, daughter of the late Alonzo and Irene Strong Waldrup, was born in Crowder, Missouri on October 23, 1920, and passed away at the Methodist North Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee on October 2, 2019, at the age of 98 years, 11 months and 9 days.
She had lived in Dudley, where she and her husband were farmers, until moving to Arlington, Tennessee in 1997. She attended the Methodist Church and was a member of the Eastern Star.
On November 27, 1939, she married Oscar John Gasser in Bloomfield, Missouri. He preceded her in death on November 20, 2000.
Surviving are one son, David Gasser of Cape Girardeau; one daughter, Anita Richardson of Arlington, Tennessee; eight grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by two sons, Lonnie Gasser in 1956; John Gasser in 2018; one grandson; and two sisters, Fleta Jones and Johnnie Reed.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 4, 2019, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday October 5,2019 at 2:30 pm at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Steve Tippen of Bloomfield officiating. An Eastern Star service will be held before the service on Saturday.

On June 27, 1959 he was married to Joyce Z. Fay Moore in Bernie.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Joyce Z. Fay Barney of O'Fallon, Missouri; one son and wife, John M. & Paula Barney of O'Fallon, Missouri; four grandchildren and spouses; Brian M Barney, Eric & Avery Barney, Jon Tyler & Sydney Barney, Hannah Barney; one great granddaughter, Elise Barney; four brothers, Bill Barney of Jefferson, Georgia, Tom & Jim Garner both of Michigan, Anson Barney of Dexter; one sister, Sheila Wallis of Dexter, niece, Diana Stott, and nephew & wife, Will & Melissa Barney. Chris had lived in Dexter most of his life. He had worked as a welder at a steel mill.
Surviving are one son, Kyle Jenkins of Dexter, Missouri, his father & step-mother, Johnny and Margaret Jenkins of Amorel, Arkansas; three brothers, D.J. Morgan of Dexter, Tyler and Brandon Jenkins both of Blytheville, Arkansas; his grandfather, Bob Dodd of Dexter. Other relatives and many friends also survive.

Obituary Preview: Maxine Daniel of Dexter, daughter of the late Leslie Harrison and Frona Francis Stuart, was born in St. Louis, Missouri on March 24, 1924, and passed away at the Winchester Nursing Center in Bernie on September 19, 2019, at the age of 95 years, 5 months and 26 days.
She had lived in Dexter most of her life. She had worked as a bank teller and Bookkeeping Dept. Supervisor and as a caseworker with the Stoddard County Family Service office. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Dexter where she had taught youth and adult Sunday School, sang in the choir, and was a member of the Christian Women's Fellowship, Church Women United and the second woman elected to serve as an Elder at the church. She had also served on the Keller Library Board for nine years and was a member of Chapter CP B.P.O. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining her friends and family, painting, needlework, word games and crossword puzzles.
On October 25, 1945, she married A. Bradley Daniel in Dexter, Missouri. He preceded her in death on January 16, 1998.
Surviving are one son and wife, Jon & Jo Daniel of Fredericktown; two grandchildren and spouses, Aaron & Lori Daniel of Fulton, Rebecca & Bill Hampton of Springfield; two step-grandchildren, Matthew & Amy Worley, David Worley all of Dexter; four great grandchildren, Emma & Liam Hampton of Springfield, Asher & Benjamin Daniel of Fulton; three step-great grandchildren, Jack, Cooper and Luke Worley all of Dexter. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Young and a beloved daughter in law, Cheryl Caudle Daniel.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2019, after 10:00 a.m. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter until time of services at 1:00 p.m.
Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.

On June 30, 1952, she married Enoch Taylor in Piggott, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on February 28, 2014.
Surviving are one brother, Larry Morgan of Florida; one sister, Barbara Bailey of Wisconsin; many nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Earnest Morgan, Jr, Robert Morgan, Densil Morgan and Ray Morgan; one sister, Velva Bright.

Artie had lived in the Bloomfield area all her life. She had worked at Elder's Manufacturing, the Hat Factory and Purolator Filter for 19 years. She was a member of the Corinth General Baptist Church near Puxico.
She was first married to William T. Bowling. He preceded her in death in 1969. She later married Terry Hatchell who also preceded her in death.
Surviving are three sons and wives, Steve & Sherri Bowling of Bloomfield, Tim & Kim Bowling of Chaffee, Kevin Bowling of Zalma; one daughter, Connie Franklin of Bloomfield; one daughter-in-law, Judy Bowling of Sturdivant; ten grandchildren; and fifteen great grandchildren. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one son, Rod Bowling; two brothers, Everett Scott, Jr., Norman “Doc” Scott; and two sisters, Erma Jean Bollinger and Mary Belle Fowler. Many other nieces, nephews, cousins and other family survive. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Jack Sullivant and Bobby Sullivan.

Junior had lived in the Bloomfield area all his life. He had worked as a teacher for 22 years at the Poplar Bluff Technical Career Center and had also been an auto mechanic, done auto body work, and was a gunsmith. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed working on antique tractors and farm implements On April 12, 1963, he was married to Ruth Harris in Kansas City, Missouri. Surviving are his wife, Ruth Cagle of Bloomfield; one son, Duane Cagle of Wellington, Florida; two daughters, Sherri (Robert) Tomlinson of Poplar Bluff, Janet Holmes of Sikeston; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren and one step-great granddaughter; three brothers, Bill Cagle of Poplar Bluff, Charles Wayne Cagle of Bloomfield, Harold Gene Cagle of Dexter; two sisters, Laverne Fargarson of Shreveport, Louisiana and Shirley Douglas of Branson West, Missouri.
Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his brother, Norman Walker, two sisters, Barbara Mayhall and Gonda Buckalew; and infant brother, Clinton Cagle. Friends may visit on Sunday, September 8, 2019, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the

Terry Townsend - January 13, 1940 - August 15, 2019

Obituary Preview: Terry Wayne Townsend was born on 13 Jan 1940, to Claude Townsend and Mable (Way) Townsend. Terry passed away at his home near Zalma on August 15, 2019, at the age of 79 years, 7 months and 2 days.
Terry married Marcella Sue Fish on June 6, 1959. Over the course of the next 60 years they traveled extensively, visiting all 50 states—living in 10—as well as living in the countries of Turkey and Greenland.
Terry went to Kinder School and graduated from Puxico High School in 1957. He joined the Air Force shortly after graduation and became an Air Traffic Controller. After a 20-year Air Force career, he retired as a Master Air Traffic Controller. Following his retirement from the Air Force, Terry became a Flight Service Controller for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). While working at the Cape Girardeau Airport he attended SEMO University obtaining three years of credit toward a degree in teaching.
Through all their travels "home" was always the Puxico area, so Terry and Marcella moved back after retiring from the FAA. Terry was awarded numerous military citations, awards and letters of appreciation from the pilots he directed. He was a member of the Air Communicators & Air Traffic Controllers Association.
Surviving Terry are his wife Marcella Townsend of Zalma, daughter Lynnette (and Kent)Whitsel of Jackson, MO, son Michael (and Marla) Townsend of Puxico, MO, and daughter Jannette (and Steven) Lootens of Middle Grove, NY; five grandchildren, Jesse (and Joslyn) Townsend, Justin (and Jeannette) Townsend, Zachary (and Melissa) Whitsel, Daniel Lootens, and Amanda Lootens; and one great grandchild, Grayson Townsend. Terry is survived by his brother Bill (and Pat) Townsend of Bowling Green, KY and numerous other family members. Terry was preceded by his parents, and sister, Bonnie (and Bob) Hisaw.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to Fagan Cemetery, Brush Creek Cemetery, or Brown Cemetery in Terry’s memory. Terry was a member of Brush Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving are one brother, Jimmy Sloan of Missouri; one sister, Angela Rich of Florida; one nephew, Timmy Sloan of Ohio. Many aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends also survive.
Visitations will be held on Tuesday August 13, 2019 from 11:00 am until time of services at 1:00 pm at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
Interment will follow in the Walker Cemetery in Bloomfield with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home of Bloomfield in charge of arrangements.

Obituary Preview: Albert "Jean" Holland, age 83 of Sullivan, Missouri passed away Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Life Care Center surrounded by his loving family.
Albert "Jean" Holland was born on February 7, 1936 in Perryville, Missouri to John B. and Myrtle Audell (Murray) Holland. He was united in marriage to Emma Hartline on June 11, 1955 and they were blessed with four children, Regina, Connie, Gary and Eva. Jean and Emma made their home in Arkansas where he was employed by the Batesville School District for over 18 years. When he was 33 years old, he surrendered his life to the Lord and became associate pastor at Hope Church in St. Louis, Missouri followed by serving as Senior Pastor at Liberty Temple in Sebree, Kentucky and Batesville, Arkansas. He then joined the Assemblies of God and pastored at First Assembly in Blackrock, Arkansas and Spring Mill Assembly near Batesville, Arkansas. Brother Jean was a loving and devoted pastor, husband, father and grandpa. He especially loved ministering to children. He and Emma made their home in Suillivan in January 2014 and began attending First Assembly. Miss Emma passed soon after moving here. He missed her deeply but quickly became a part of the church where he helped in the nursing home ministry. Brother Holland was a faithful man of God who loved the Word and work of God. He will be lovingly remembered by his family and many friends.
He is survived by his children, Regina Weaver and husband Harry of Riverside, California, Connie Musgraves of Sullivan, Mo, Gary Holland of Sullivan, Mo, Eva Nelson and husband Andy of Denver, Colorado; nine grandchildren, Cora Chicca and husband James of Arlington Heights, Illinois, Evelene Schram and husband Jeremy of Battle Creek, Michigan, Miles Weaver and wife Olivia of Battle Creek, Michigan, Joseph Weaver and wife Piper of Placerville, California, Jennifer Musgraves and Pedro Garcia of Bacliff, Texas, Vanessa Musgraves and Sharon Fabrizio of Battlegroud, Washinton, Joe Kilburn of Hillsboro, Missouri , Krista Stewart of O'Fallon, Missouri and Gabrielle Nelson of Denver Colorado; nine great-grandchildren, Anna, Makayla, Samuel, Eliza, Kailee, Kasey, Shawn, Olivia and Sean; one great-great-grandchild, Kade; one brother, Paul Holland and wife Nancy of Winnetka, California; sister in law, Billie Holland of Lancaster, California; many nieces, hephews, other relatives and many friends.
Mr. Holland was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Emma (Hartline) Holland; his parents, John and Myrtle (Murray) Holland; brothers, John, Clyde and Boyd Holland; and one sister, Bonnie Lou Holland.
Visitations will be from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, August 1, 2019 at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 noon, Friday, August 2, 2019 at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with interment to follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Bell City, Missouri.

Surviving are his wife, Marilyn D. Southerland of Moscow Mills, Missouri; one son, Duke Southerland of Moscow Mills, Missouri; one daughter, Tina Jarrell of Dexter, Missouri; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by two brothers.

James had been a world traveler before making his home in Puxico. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force, a member of the V.F.W. Post 1991, the Disabled American Veterans and the Paragould Pilots Association.
On August 5, 2007 he was married to Josephine Williams in Kennett, Missouri.
Surviving are his wife, Josephine Petit of Puxico; one son, Steve Mobbs of Puxico; one daughter and husband, Jackie and Danny McCoy of Dexter; one grandson, Danny McCoy, Jr. of Dexter. Other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Interment will be in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery on Thursday July 18, 2019 at 1:00 pm with full military honors.

Surviving are one daughter, Peggy Shaver of Dexter; one son, Kenneth Wiseman of Dexter; he also had seven grandchildren; and several great grandchildren; and many great great granchildren. On May 24, 1952, she married Jimmie Pullam in Pocahontas, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on June 9, 2004.
Surviving are one son, Stanley Ray Pullam of Bloomington, Illinois; one daughter, Karen Joyce Holstein of Aurora, Colorado; seventeen grandchildren; several great grandchildren; one brother, Donald Gene Ragsdel of Dexter; and one sister, Ineva Barker of Dexter.. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Lee Ramirez, and one brother, Jerome Ragsdel.
