Obituary Preview: Kristie Lee Russell, 54, of Saratoga Springs passed away unexpectedly on March 21st, 2024. Kristie was born on December 26th, 1969 in Ogden, Utah. Kristie was blessed with four parents: George and Linda Russell of Moab, Utah who adopted her at birth; her biological parents Teresa McGuire of Ogden, Utah, and Gerald Neil of Terra, Utah.

She lived her early life in Moab living life to the fullest. All of her adult life she spent every minute loving and caring for her three children and her favorite part of life, her grandchildren.

She had a special talent of being able to talk to anyone and befriend anyone in need. Kristie was a young-hearted free spirit, a true individual who could find beauty in any corner of life.

She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Linda Russell whom she missed dearly. She is survived by her children Ashley (Jesse) Dixon, Tiffanie (Lindsey) Vincent, Austin (Quinton) Vincent. Her grandchildren Hagen, Kolter, Brodee, Cayle, Erika, Kaydenn, Haven, Jasper, and Persephone. Her biological parents Teresa and Gerald along with her four siblings Bryan, Katy, Jeff, and Tim.

May our mother forever rest in the serenity of the ocean’s embrace, where the waves sing their lullabies, and the sunsets paint the sky.

He is survived by his devoted daughter, Vickie Barbour; along with his cherished grandchildren, Kristy and Nathan James, Douglas Barbour and Lisa Martin; and seven adored great-grandchildren.

Everett, fondly known to many as a true gentleman, lived a life filled with dedication, kindness and service. He served his country honorably as a member of the Navy for 25 years, exemplifying courage and commitment throughout his military career.

Born and raised on a farm, Everett possessed a deep connection to the land and a strong work ethic instilled by his upbringing. He carried these values with him throughout his life, embodying the qualities of resilience and perseverance.

Above all, Everett was known for his unwavering kindness and generosity. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, offering his assistance at a moment's notice. Whether it was fixing a neighbor's fence, teaching a grandchild to fish or sharing his wisdom about farming or construction techniques, Everett's willingness to help others knew no bounds.

A natural teacher, Everett took great joy in passing on his knowledge and skills to those around him. He believed in the power of hands-on learning and took pride in watching others succeed with the guidance he provided.

Everett's legacy of compassion, generosity and service will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends and all those whose lives he touched with his kindness and wisdom. Everett's wishes were to be buried at sea, and the Naval committal ceremony will be held on a deployed ship by the commanding officer of the ship. Therefore, friends and family members are not allowed to be present. We thank you for your understanding.

Though Everett may no longer be with us in person, his spirit will forever remain a guiding light for those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Kay will be lovingly remembered by her son, Martin (Meredith) Telaroli, her daughter, Kristin Telaroli, her sons James (Kim) Telaroli and Michael (Amber) Telaroli, her sister Debra Ju, and brothers Brent and Kevin Petersen, and many other cherished family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Hunsaker, her father, Hyrum Petersen, her mother, Ruby Mortensen, her sister, Ramona Olsen and her brothers, Marlow, Gordon, and David Petersen.

In the sanctuary of her faith, Kay found solace and enlightenment. As a devoted member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, she nurtured her spirit, drawing strength from the sacred teachings that resonated deep within her soul. Her reverence for all of creation, her unwavering respect for the divine plan, and her devotion were the cornerstones of her existence.

Her language of Love was giving. It was rare to visit her home without her sending you off with something at parting. Her laugh was infectious and her Hugs were meaningful and strong. She will be missed dearly by those that knew and loved her.

A celebration of Kay's life will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Her son’s home at 1082 S Waterside Drive Saratoga Springs Utah. This gathering will provide an opportunity for family and friends to honor Kay's memory and share their stories and memories.

PJ held the prestigious position of Vice President at Pepsi General Bottlers, where he displayed exemplary dedication, leadership, and a passion for his work that earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues.

However, PJ was not just a man of the boardroom; he was also a true artist at heart. His love for painting and creating unique masterpieces was evident in the way he could take ordinary items found in nature and transform them into works of art that left people in awe of his creativity.

In the face of health challenges during the last five years, PJ showed remarkable strength and determination. He fought a brave battle against prostate cancer that had spread to his bones, finding solace and peace in the company of his loved ones.

PJ's love extended beyond people to his beloved animals. He eagerly looked forward to reuniting with his cherished dogs, Sedona, Sundance, and Aspen, as well as his cats, Frankie and Angel.

On October 13, 1990, PJ married the love of his life, Sharon, after a courtship of five years. Together, they built a life filled with love and adventure. They spent their summers in the beautiful mountains of Utah and embarked on winter adventures in their Motorhome. For the last 22 years, they sought refuge from the cold in the sunny climate of Temecula, California, making it their winter home.

Patrick Joseph McCarthy, or PJ as he was affectionately known, will be deeply missed by his loved ones, family, and the many friends who had the privilege of knowing him. His vibrant spirit, boundless creativity, and unwavering love will be cherished and remembered by all.

She is survived by her parents and siblings Laura (Floyd) Castillo of Nephi, Utah, Eddie Melvin Lee III of Missouri, Robert (Leslie) Lee of Levan, Utah, Gregory “Jake” Lee of Missouri. Her children Aubrey, Eden and Nathan Hinckley of Provo, Utah, Orion Lance of Texas, Deven, Shane and Merrik Williams of Kamas, Utah.

Bridget grew up in Lake Shore, Utah, a rural town where her parents owned a home and a small farm. She attended Spanish Fork elementary and Spanish Fork High School. She worked at East Lake Care center in Provo and she met her husband Cory who also worked there as a kitchen assistant. They married during their senior year of High School and had 3 children. Bridget later met Robert Owens and they had another son. Dusty Williams and Bridget were partners for some years and her last 3 children were born then. She raised her 7 children in the home she owned in Santaquin, Utah. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Bridget had a tender heart and always wished to show her love for others by giving little gifts. She had many health challenges, but she lived the best she could and was a kind and gracious person that never failed to express her gratitude to those who helped her or her children. Bridget fiercely loved her kids and taught them to be kind, honest, hardworking, and respectful. They are a credit to her loving nurturing nature. Bridget loved her garden and as her health and stamina allowed, she planted her yard with a collection of flowers and plants and interspersed them with interesting stones. Every kind of animal and insect was precious to her. She and her kids had many pets, rabbits, goats, a chicken, cats, a cockatiel parrot and parakeets, fish, hamsters, and dogs. Her pets and children were the motivation to get up and carry on when life was hard.

Bridget bred her beloved teacup poodles and shih tzu dogs. Her loving and nurturing nature was perfect for this. Families and individuals all over Utah have furry babies they got from her.

Bridget was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Cory Hinckley and sister, Krystal Warnock.

Thanks to Walker Sanderson Funeral Home for their end-of-life care and cremation services. The family will be holding a small celebration of life gathering by invitation. Friends who want to honor Bridget’s life may consider donating to an animal assistance organization of their choice.

Obituary Preview: Heidi Lynn Grover passed away July 1, 2023 from cardio pulmonary arrest at the age of 55. She was born to Gary Max Grover and Virginia Velaine (Ginger) Nelson on June 7, 1968 in Munchweiler, Germany, where her father was serving with the United States Army. When she was just five weeks old, the family returned to the United States. They lived in several cities in Utah and California, eventually settling in Lehi, Utah. Heidi graduated from Lehi High School in 1986. She attended Brigham Young University, where she completed a BS in Psychology. She was employed by the State of Utah for several years but left to attend Utah Valley University where she received a BS in English - Creative Writing. She worked as a free-lance writer; much of her writing appeared on the Internet.

Heidi had a deep love for books and story telling in any form. While her fiction writing was mainly in the speculative fiction genre, she also wrote about social issues. She was proficient in a range of styles including informative articles and how-tos. She could be serious or let her sense of humor take the lead. She could craft an article from key words or take a topic and turn it into something interesting. She thought interesting articles came from good research and originality.

While working on a journal she discovered that she could enjoy the developmental process of editing. Taking someone else's work and polishing it so their voice becomes stronger is rewarding.

Heidi was a gardener and a crazy crafter. While her drawing skills were lacking, she loved working with color and texture. She learned beadwork from her Grandmother Grover. She did hand embroidery, cross stitch, paper crafts such as scrapbooking, and sewed regularly. She was always looking for new projects. She grew herbs, flowers, and veggies indoors and outside and couldn’t wait to get her hands in the soil every spring. She was an active member of the Life, the Universe & Everything: The Marion K. ‘Doc’ Smith Symposium on Science Fiction and Fantasy, where she fulfilled many assignments.

Heidi never married so had no children of her own but had many nieces and nephews whom she adored. She always remembered them at Christmas, and her gifts to them were often hand made. She loved the big family Christmas party and especially enjoyed the gift pass-around game.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in various callings. She especially loved serving in the Primary for many years. She loved working with little children.

Heidi is survived by her parents, stepmother Barbara Grover, brother Alex (Shannon) and niece Maya (Brett) Knecht. She is also survived by several stepbrothers and stepsisters, and many stepnieces and stepnephews. She was proceeded in death by stepfather, Leon Frandsen, and a nephew, Stephen Samwise Grover.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Gordon Earl Thayne - October 30, 1931 - January 16, 2019

Obituary Preview: Gordon Earl Thayne, 87 of Pleasant Grove passed away Wednesday January 16, 2019, thus ending a seven-month struggle to recover from injuries resulting from a fall while working at his home.

Gordon was born October 30, 1931 in Provo Utah to Clifton Earl and Mirla Greenwood Thayne. He was the second oldest of four children; older brother Richard Grant, sister Sharon Renea, youngest brother David Clifton.

Gordon was a loving and devoted father, husband, grandfather, and great-grandfather. While attending BYU he met and married the love of his life, Donna Anderson Thayne in the Manti Temple on March 12, 1953. They had a beautiful family of seven children. Donna and Gordon loved each other very much, and enjoyed being together with their family more than anything else.

Gordon loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman, hunter, and camper. For over 35 years he took his family to Beaver Mountain to camp out under the stars, ride motorcycles, and fish at Puffer Lake. He was a skilled hunter and for over 20 years “always got his Buck.” He loved boating on Lake Powell with his family; teaching his children and grandchildren to fish and water ski. Gordon loved staying physically fit, working out, swimming, and riding mountain bikes. He loved snow skiing and taught all of his kids and many of his grandkids to ski.

Gordon was a warm, compassionate, and caring member of the community. He always looked to help those in need in kind and self-sacrificing ways. He was always generous with his time, expertise and resources throughout his life looking for opportunities where he could help those in need no mater where he found them. He also served his country in the Utah National Guard.

He was a man of great ingenuity and craftsmanship – not only a jack of all trades, but a master of many. He built the home where he and Donna raised their seven children, and was an accomplished electrical engineer, systems designer, and manager. Gordon worked for US Steel’s Geneva Works for 30 years; 20 years of which he was head of maintenance over the Rolling Mill. He also modernized and designed water management systems for many small towns in southern Utah providing them with clean fresh water. At the end of his career he worked doing similar work for many years for the city of Orem where he was respected and recognized for his expertise, knowledge, and contributions.

After 38 years of marriage, Donna passed away at the early age of 57 on March 29, 1991 and has been so dearly missed.

Many years later Gordon met and married Mary Lassig Dipo on October 21, 2009 in Mary’s home in Las Vegas. Mary has cared for him and been by his side through the last years of his life. Mary loved not only Gordon but his large growing family. He was much beloved by her two children and young Cambria Mary’s only grandchild loved his smile and deep voice.

Gordon was preceded in death by his beloved wife Donna, his mother and father, his brother Richard, sister Sharon, brother David, and his oldest daughter Kristine Hatch. He is survived by his wife Mary, Michael Thayne (Cindy,) David Hatch (Kris’ husband,) Dianne Driggs (Jeff,) Tami Crawley (Owen,) Daren Thayne (Sharisa,) Preston Thayne (Kim,) Jennifer Allan (Mike); as well as Mary’s children who loved him dearly; Matthew Dipo (Tanya,) Cambria Arlene Dipo (granddaughter,) and Darci Willis (Kendall,). In addition, Gordon had 40 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren (with more on the way!)

Though Gordon has passed from this life to the next, his family and friends l take comfort in the knowledge that he has been welcomed by his loved ones who have also passed on, and that his pain and suffering has finally ended. To celebrate Gordon’s life, a memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM at the LDS Chapel located at 1320 West 3540 North Pleasant Grove, Utah 84062 on Tuesday, January 22, 2019. A viewing will be held a day prior on Monday from 6-8:00 pm at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, located at 646 E 800 N, Orem, UT 84097

Glen served as a full-time missionary in the Mexico Mission from 1956-59 for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He later returned to Mexico and neighboring countries for adventure and archeology. Glen graduated from Wasatch High School in 1954, and later attended Brigham Young University, where he earned two degrees: Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts with an emphasis in Spanish and foreign language teaching methodology. Between degrees he taught Spanish, English, and other subjects at Pleasant Grove High School and Junior High School. In 1966 he received a fellowship to study and teach Spanish at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. In 1969 Glen received his Ph.D in Foreign Language Education, Teacher Education, and Audiovisual Communications. He taught at Michigan State University in East Lansing, and later at Montana State University in Bozeman as Head of the Modern Languages Department. While there he was contracted by the State Dept. to do workshop training for the Sioux, Crow, and Cree Tribal Nations. After five years at Montana State Glen took a leave of absence to help the Cassia County School District in Burley, Idaho, come into compliance with the Civil Rights Act of 1964. In 1980 Glen was offered a position at BYU. He and Venetta and their children moved to Orem, where Glen served as the founding director of BYU’s English Language Center. During that time he spent many enjoyable hours teaching and supervising teachers and foreign students from many different countries of the world. He served in this capacity for 25 years, retiring in 2005, and remaining as Emeritus Professor until 2008. He loved working with his colleagues and students from the many different cultures in the Center. He also wrote many materials for teaching English as a second language (ESL) and distributed thousands of copies around the world. The LDS Church adopted them and makes them available to missionaries and members worldwide through the Pathways program. Glen was a pioneer in the use of interactive videodisc technology under computer control to teach English as a foreign language. He and a colleague repurposed the movie Raiders of the Lost Ark for this purpose. Glen served faithfully in many callings in the Church. Some of his favorite callings were: Scoutmaster (five times in three different states), Bishop, twice as Branch President at the Provo MTC, Sunday School teacher, and language missionary with his wife Venetta. An avid outdoorsman, Glen spent weekends and free time fly fishing, hunting, backpacking, vegetable gardening, and rock hounding. He enjoyed hobbies that included, oil painting, leather tooling, woodworking, inventing, and gemstone cutting. Glen is survived by his dear wife, Venetta, and his 10 children: Bradley (Diane) Probst of Highland, Utah; Angela (Michael) Reeves of Orem, Utah; Jennifer (Scott) Hales, of Kirkland, Washington; Rachelle (Brent) Packer of Cedar Hills, Utah, Benjamin (Carolina) Probst of Herriman, Utah; Charmain (Barret) Runyon of Fort Worth, Texas; Brian Probst of Provo, Utah; Emily (David) Lesher of American Fork, Utah; Allison (Brandon) Barber of Wichita, Kansas, and Daniel (Kimber) Probst of Herriman, Utah. He is also survived by brother Eugene (Darlene) Probst, and sister Joyce (Ivan) Murray. At the time of his passing he had 36 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Karl and Cree Probst, and his siblings, Bernard (Doris) Probst, Beatrice (Lemuel) Stroud, Nila (Charles) Horner, Marilyn (Jack) Osborne, and Madelyn (LaMarr) Nichols. Funeral Services will be Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Cascade 5th Ward Chapel 1051 E. 200 N. Orem, Utah. Obituary Preview: Gordon Benson Durham was born on August 23, 1929 in Long Beach, CA, the son of Thomas Thompson Durham and Ellen LaVerne Benson. He passed away on August 13, 2018 in Provo, UT, surrounded by family. Gordon was the second of four children born to Thomas and LaVerne. His older half-sister, Jessie, helped raise him upon his mother’s death in 1932. He graduated from Narbonne High School in 1947, just a few months after his father passed away. He attended Harbor Junior College, California State University in Fullerton, and California State University in Long Beach, earning three years of college credit. On October 5, 1950, he married the love of his life, Enid Larsen. Their marriage was solemnized in the LDS temple in Mesa, AZ. They raised six children and had been married just short of 65 years when Enid passed away in 2015. Gordon was drafted into the army in January of 1951 and served for two years. He completed his basic training at Camp Roberts, CA, after which he trained as an army cook. He served in Korea as a mess sergeant, where he was assigned to a SCARWAF (Special Category Army Reassigned With Air Force) unit based in Taegu, feeding the troops who were building airstrips. Shortly after returning home from military service, Gordon went to work for Union Oil Company of California. He worked for UNOCAL for almost 35 years, and during that time, he was transferred to a variety of locations including Los Angeles, CA, Seattle, WA, and Rawlins, WY. When Gordon retired in 1988, he and Enid moved to Bedford, WY to enjoy a more peaceful and slower pace of life. In 2002, their love of the ocean took them to Port Orford, OR. Upon Enid’s death in 2015, Gordon joined his daughter Jennifer’s family in Provo, UT. Gordon was a devoted father, husband, and friend. He was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where he served in a variety of leadership positions and enjoyed working in the temple. When he was younger, Gordon liked camping, playing fastpitch softball (he was a pitcher), and fishing with his father-in-law, despite the fact that he didn’t like to eat fish. He was a handyman who enjoyed carpentry and woodworking, puttering around the garage, and could fix just about anything. He could even occasionally be found playing the piano. Family was important to Gordon, and he and Enid were regular attendees at their children’s various sporting, academic, and musical events. He and Enid enjoyed doing things together and were often involved in creative projects. He loved helping people and being of service. Gordon is survived by his children Gordon Thomas Durham of Corona, CA, James Robert Durham of Houston, TX, Michael Ray Durham of Long Beach, CA, Lynne Hendrickson of Fullerton, CA, Yvonne Durham of Bellingham, WA, and Jennifer Dunkley of Provo, UT; 23 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and sister, Caroline Durham of Long Beach, CA. Funeral services will be held Saturday August 18, 2018 at 1:00 pm in the Bonneville 6th ward building at 1289 E 300 S, Provo. Obituary Preview: 1921 - 2018 Harold Ray Germaine, age 96, left this mortal probation peacefully in the evening of Tuesday May 22, 2018. Harold was born on September 16, 1921 in Montgomery, Vermont to Allen Joseph and Madge Richardson Germaine. He grew up the oldest of 9 children on the desert outside Tucson, Arizona. He honorably served as a Marine during WWII in the South Pacific, receiving a purple heart. While on convalescent leave he met and married his eternal companion, Virginia Sorensen, in the Mesa, Arizona Temple on January 2, 1945. Harold served in the Southern States Mission for the LDS church with the loving support of his sweetheart and young child. Lack of formal education in his youth did not hinder his vehement thirst for continued pursuit of knowledge and learning both secular and doctrinally as evidence through his thousands of books. Those that had the opportunity to visit in his home knew the challenge of navigating around his beloved books. He loved to share his vast knowledge and testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ with all. He lived the epitome of a true family patriarch through his love, testimony and example. He faithfully served where the Lord needed him. His service as a Patriarch for over 20 years will be a lasting memory by many. His love of the Savior was evident to all who had the privilege of knowing him. He is survived by sons Joseph (Kathy), Corwin (Marguerite) daughter Michelle (Steve) Todd, daughter-in-law Sherri Corwin, son-in-law Joel Golding, 25 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren (awaiting 2) sister Laura Johnson. Proceeded in death are his wife Virginia, son David Lynn, daughter Raeleen Golding, 2 grandsons, his parents, 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Obituary Preview: Gilbert Dudley Andes, Jr., 69 years old, returned to his Father in Heaven on May 11, 2018, after being in hospice for about eight hours. Gilbert was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 2, 1948 to Gilbert Dudley Andes and Coredith Lintz Andes. His parents later divorced. He had two brothers, Allen Andes and Perry Booso, and one sister, Pamela (Paul) Truesdell. As a boy he loved playing army with his friends, and he developed a method of ensuring no one could claim he had missed. They used air rifles, and Gil knew that if he dipped the end of the rifle in mud, there would be evidence of the hit. He changed the way they played army. He also loved playing ledgeball, a game played on the steps of the house. The object was to bounce the ball on the edge of the step so that it bounced outward. How far it went determined what bases were credited. It was a space saving “city” way of playing baseball. Both of Gilbert’s parents remarried. His mother married Paul Perry Booso, and his father married Lena Rufenia Abbott Allenbaugh. Lena had a son, Allen Joseph, e leven months younger than Gil. Gilbert S Gil’s mother and stepfather had two more children. Perry Randolph Booso was born when Gil was eight years old and their sister, Pamela Kay Booso. When Gil was ten, his grandfather taught him to play baseball, and he decided to teach it to the neighborhood children when he was a teenager. Gil joined the school band in seventh grade, playing Sousaphone. He took the instrument home and taught himself how to play in a weekend. By ninth grade, Gilbert was named one of the top five brass musicians in the school. Gil grew up near his cousin, Butch Speckert, and they spent a lot of time playing together. Gil loved playing army, ledgeball, and made up games. When he was a teenager, Gil gathered all the children in the neighborhood to play baseball either on his dead end street or at a nearby park. When Gilbert was eight, his brother Perry was born, and when Gll was ten his sister, Pamela, was born. Gil taught Perry to play baseball. Because Gil is right handed, he taught Perry how to bat right handed. Perry is left handed, and now bats either way. Gil was mischievous, and when someone in his second grade class mentioned a train he said, “choo choo”. As punishment he had to walk around the room singing “Little Red Caboose”. In seventh grade Gilbert played Sousaphone in the school band. He taught himself to play over a weekend when he was permitted to take the instrument home. By ninth grade, he was voted one of the top five brass players in the school. After graduating from high school in 1966, Gil enlisted in the US Army and trained in radar repair. After Basic Training at Fort Knox, Kentucky, he was stationed at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey for advanced individual training. He was temporarily assigned to work with ITT Gilfillan in Van Nuys, California on a special project for a new mortar tracking radar system. Gil met Stella Louise Hamilton at a New Year’s Eve in 1968. He stated that when he was 16 years old he had a dream of the girl he would marry. When he saw Stella he knew she was the girl in his dream. On February 5, 1969, Gil and Stella were married. The parties present included Gilbert, Stella, and the minister. The witness, who was the minister’s wife, had gone to bed before the wedding. They settled in Yuma, Arizona before the army ordered them to Colorado Springs area for a year. In July 1970 Gil began a 13 month long tour in Korea. He lived in five different bases in Korea. While he was in Korea, he learned more about the LDS Church and was baptized in January of 1971. He returned to the USA, and they moved to Lawton, Oklahoma. In April 1972 Gilbert and Stella were sealed in the Los Angeles LDS Temple. Gilbert and Stella were blessed to become the parents of six children: Valerie Faith, Sherlyn “Sheri” Renee, Heather Michelle, Tiffany Louise, Jared Christopher, and Jonathan Scott. After correctly predicting the first three girls, he quit predicting and stated he would keep his record intact. Gil and family moved many times within nine states (California, Arizona, Colorado, Oklahoma, Ohio, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, and Utah). He served in the 82nd Airborne Division and the 24th Infantry in addition to other units. He loved to travel. He loved flying in planes and was allowed to sit in the front of a small plane and “fly” it once when he was in New Jersey. Road trips were much more common than flying. Gil had many jobs throughout his life. His favorite job was evaluating alternate bids for electronic connectors for the Department of Defense. Gil as a quality assurance manager worked for a connector company in Miami Florida. Gilbert loved playing board games with Stella and friends and then outdoor games with the children. He was so proud of them! He was sometimes stern father at times, and he apologized later for being so rough on them. They knew that he wanted them to grow up to be good citizens, good neighbors, and upright adults. (Mission accomplished!) Gilbert e arned a bachelor’s degree in business and management in 1995 and a master of organizational management in 1997 at University of Phoenix. In 2010, Gilbert had a stroke that he believed was mild. He called it his stroke of luck. Unfortunately, it led to severe dementia. He passed away peacefully on May 11, 2018 a few hours after entering hospice in Provo, Utah. He is survived by his loving wife, Stella Andes; his father, Gilbert Andes (Sr.); children: Valerie Mendoza, Sheri Andes, Heather (Thomas) Mann, Tiffany (Adam) Mercer, Jared (Deborah) Andes and Jonathan Andes, all of Utah; grandchildren A lexander, Elisa, and Sabrina Mendoza, Avshalom “Avi” and Itai Andes, and Aileah and Elijah Mann; his brother, Perry (Mary) Booso, and sister, Pamela (Paul) Truesdell; and his only living aunt, Carol (George) Lintz. He was preceded in death by his mother, Coredith “Boots” Booso, brother: Allen Andes, stepfather Paul Booso, and stepmother Lena Andes.

Obituary Preview: Micah Southworth Hintze was born on October 19 th , 1989 in American Fork, Utah to Mark Lund and Mona Lynn Southworth Hintze. He joined his older brothers Lucas and Zach and his sisters Heidi and Kali. From a very young age we knew he was going to be an athlete. He excelled in every sport he tried -- soccer, basketball, baseball and snowboarding. He also had a passion for anything with wheels whether it was a skateboard, scooter, mini bike, motorcycle, mountain bike or something he created himself. He loved downhill mountain bike racing and was the Utah State Champion in his age bracket in 2007.He was also fortunate to be able to tour the United States and Canada because of his incredible talent and built many lasting friendships along the way. He had an innate ability to imagine, design, build, sew, troubleshoot and repair almost anything. If there was a tool made to build or fix something he probably knew how to use it. If he didn’t know, he would quickly research and teach himself how to. His knowledge of mechanics and electronics was amazing. Micah attended Canyon Crest Elementary, Centennial Middle School, Timpview and Orem High School and UVU. He has been blessed to have a group of wonderful friends who have supported, encouraged and loved him unconditionally through all of the moguls along the way. He has had to endure many difficult challenges throughout his life, and unexpectedly left this world much too soon on March 5, 2018. Micah leaves behind his beautiful little red-headed boy, Holden. He captured his heart the moment he first held him and nothing has made him prouder than to be his Dad. We will miss our wonderful son, brother, father, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend who was fearless and kind and loved his family and friends with all of his heart.
