Obituary Preview: Mary Sazera Hughes went to be with the Lord and is now reunited with all those that she missed so dearly.  She passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at age 71. She is survived by her children, Shannon Parker and Toni Owens (Amber); grandchildren, Austin Green, Courtney Parker, Reece Parker and Brittany Godwin; one brother, Anthony Sazera; and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Betty Sazera; one sister, Jacky Stancil; and one brother, Butch Deneke.  Mary was the funniest person and made her family laugh often.  They loved to pick at her and see if they could get a rise out of her just to see her reaction.  She also enjoyed playing games of all kinds.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Walker Chapel Funeral Home.  A service to celebrate the life of Mary will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home.

Obituary Preview: Jeannie Alexander Nazario went home to be with Jesus and was reunited with her mother and brother on Friday, April 26, 2024.  She is survived by her children, Sonya Bolling, Mandy Black (Nathan) and Ashley Coupland; eight grandchildren, Tyler Carr, Jasmine Bolling, Alex Carr, Jacob Bolling, Shelby Bishop, Brennen Free, Baleigh Free, and Kadie Free; two great grandchildren, Ethan Carr and Clayton Carr; her father, Herbert H. Alexander; one brother, Rick Alexander (Cathy); one sister, Angela Alexander; and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.  Jeannie is preceded in death by her mother, Kay Alexander and her brother, Randy Alexander.  She was a devoted Christian and loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren more than anything.  She would ride down the road headed to her chemo treatments singing “We All Need Jesus” showing where her source of strength came from.  Her family will miss her every day.  Visitation will be Friday, May 3, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Walker Chapel Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m.  Burial will be in Walker Chapel Memorial Gardens.

Obituary Preview: Carolyn Wilson went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at age 77.  She is survived by her husband of 45 years, David Wilson; four children, Brett Hollis (Emily), Candice Wilson, Regina Bartlett (Josh) and Ryan Wilson; nine grandchildren, Fawn, Malloreé, Kristen, Holly, Austin, Logan, Justin, Alysson, and Katie; six great grandchildren, Jocelyn, Natalie, Adalynn, Katherine, Callan and Mary Evelyn; two sisters, Glenda Quinn (Jeff) and Brenda Teague (Martin); and a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.  Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, W.T. & Louise Smith and one brother, Tommy Smith.  She retired from Regions Bank in the Collections Department.  Before working at the bank, she taught kindergarten at Center Point Freewill Baptist Church where she was a member for over 30 years.  She taught her youngest daughter at the kindergarten which was called Little Angels Academy and that is a precious memory that will live on.  She was most recently a member of Church H20 (formerly Forestdale Freewill Baptist).  Carolyn loved traveling to the beach and cruising with her husband.  She baked Christmas cookies with her grandchildren, always planning a “bake day” with them.  She loved cooking with them and was quick to make them and her children special treats even for no special occasion.  She was famous for her chicken salad and peanut brittle.  Her home was always open to anyone needing a helping hand, a meal or a place to stay.  Carolyn was always there for a fun day with the kids and grandkids, as well.  She was just there for whatever was needed.  She will be missed and there will be no replacement for her on this earth.  Her family will be looking for the day they see her again.  Visitation will be Wednesday, April 10, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Walker Chapel Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be Thursday, April 11, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Forest Crest Cemetery in Irondale, AL.

Obituary Preview: Pauline A. Frambach, Montgomery, Alabama, went Home to meet her Lord on March 25, 2024 at the age of 87.  Pauline was born in Fairfield, Alabama and had resided in Montgomery, Alabama for over 50 years.
Pauline graduated from Ensley High School, Ensley, Alabama, Columbia Bible College (now Columbia International University), Columbia, South Carolina and Auburn University Montgomery, Montgomery, Alabama.
She is survived by her son, G. Peter Frambach, Huntsville, Alabama; her daughter, Sonya M. Frambach, Montgomery, Alabama; her brother, David Chapman (Lindy), Gardendale, Alabama; her nephew, James Chapman (Gardendale, Alabama) and her nieces, Tara Kennedy (Trafford, Alabama) and Teresa Lyons (Prattville, Alabama). She was preceded in death by her mother, Audie E. Chapman and sister, Sylvia J. Ivey.
For over 20 years she was the Director of the Montgomery Area Retired Senior Program (RSVP) in Montgomery, Alabama coordinating over 600 seniors through 90 community agencies. She was well known for the annual Recognition Luncheon Program for over 700 seniors and guests held at the Montgomery Civic Center.  This Luncheon was the highlight of the year for most of these senior volunteers.  She served as a resource person on Volunteerism and Aging in the local community, state and two national conferences:  The National White House Conference on Aging and the National White House Conference on Volunteerism.  The Volunteers looked forward to this banquet and program and for many it was the highlight of the year.
A very special thanks to Andrew, her nurse with Amedisys Hospice, Huntsville, Alabama who was readily available and brought comfort to her family during the short period of time she was under Hospice.
Three of Pauline’s favorite hymns were “In The Garden”, “Because He Lives” (I Can Face Tomorrow) and “O Love That Wilt Not Let Me Go”.

Cambron, Sr. and Mattie Lou Reinhardt Sanders (Bill Sanders). Mark lived in Oak Ridge, TN with his parents who worked on the Manhattan Project during WWII.  Mark’s first job was at 9 yrs. old shining shoes for the employees in Oak Ridge.  He graduated from Phillips High School then served his country in the U.S. Army as a Radio Operator in Japan during the Korean War. He was Honorably Discharged from the Army where he went on to study Engineering at the University of Alabama, Class of 1959.   Mark was an entrepreneur where his first business was selling soap across the United States to earn money to help pay for his college education.  He lived and traveled many places throughout his adventures, including Vail, CO where he opened the first Burger King.  Over the years, Mark owned and ran several successful businesses in and around Birmingham, Alabama.  His longest and most successful business was Filter Services in Birmingham, AL.  He continued this business until he sold it in 2022.   Mark was a member of a variety of clubs such as the Flora Bama Riders Motorcycle Club, Birmingham Swing Dancers Club, Birmingham Ski Club, and the American Legion Post 255, to name a few.  He was happiest outside riding his motorcycle but was very active throughout his life from scuba diving, snow skiing, water skiing, and travelled extensively.  He lived life to the fullest and encouraged others to do the same and had many stories of his life to tell.    Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Mattie Lou & Bill Sanders.  He is survived by his honey, Janetta Cambron; his daughter, Debbie Brooks (Wade) of Fort Mill, SC; and his son, David Randolph, Jr. (Tina) of St. Albans, WV. He was the proudest of his family and took great pride in being the best Papaw to his grandchildren – Savanah Randolph Dolly (Nick), Jacob Brooks (Army), Madison Randolph, Caleb Brooks, Madison Leftridge (Zach), Andrew Workman (Mady), TJ Workman (Thursday) and 3 great-grandchildren Elias, Hazel, and Piper.   He is also survived by a host of extended family and friends whom he loved.  Proverbs 18:24 says a man who has friends must show himself friendly and it was obvious that Mark understood this verse well.  A visitation for the gathering of family and friends to celebrate his life will be held at Walker Chapel Funeral Home on February 27, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at 1200 Ellard Road, Fultondale, AL.  Burial will take place at the Alabama National Cemetery on February 28, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. located at 3133 Hwy. 119, Montevallo, AL. Obituary Preview: Steven ‘Donald’ Leatherwood, (‘Alabama’ to his co-workers), went home to be with the Lord on February 22, 2024. Donald was born in Birmingham, AL on April 7, 1960. He was raised in Fultondale, AL. Donald was a member of the Boy Scouts as a child and enjoyed the outdoors.
He met the love of his life, Amanda, in December 1982. They got married on June 1, 1983 and moved to Marietta, GA shortly after. There they went on to create a life together with three children.
Donald worked for the Cobb County Department of Education in the transportation division on South Cobb Drive from 1988 until his retirement in 2017. He also worked a secondary job at Marietta Toyota in the 90s as well as assisted his friend sell cars at O’Brien & Co in his spare time.
His hobbies included NASCAR, Auburn Tigers football, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. He also loved music with his favorites being Fleetwood Mac, Lynard Skynard and Britney Spears.
Donald was a beautiful human being with the kindest soul. He was always doing things for others, never expecting anything in return. He was a true servant of God, and will be missed by everyone.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Orby & Willie Mae Leatherwood, brothers Bobby, Danny, Larry and Jerry, and his former wife, Amanda Leatherwood.
Survivors include daughters Crystal (Brian) Green of Cedartown, GA and Jessica (Travis) Stroup of Jefferson, GA and son Steven Leatherwood of Cleveland, AL. Also granddaughters Claire Green and Madeline Stroup, and grandson Landon Green.
He is also survived by his sisters Rosemary (Rick) Smith, Linda (Mark) Polarie, Peggy (Jose) Tineo, and Teresa Leatherwood.

Obituary Preview: Virginia Louise Seale, affectionately known as MawMaw by her grandchildren, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024 at age 77.  She is survived by two children, Debbie Hepburn (Ricky) and William Seale (Connie); two grandchildren, Amanda Keith and Dakota Seale; three great grandchildren, Xavier, Paizlee, and Knox; one sister, Jean Schor (Walter) and other extended family and friends.  Louise was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Bud Seale; her parents, John and Mary Giles; and two brothers, Johnny and Tommy Giles.  She retired from Regions Bank with over 25 years of service. She was a member of Walker Chapel United Methodist Church. Louise loved traveling, especially to the beach and the mountains.  She also loved Dr. Pepper and you would always find her sipping on one.  She will be missed by her family and her fur “baby” Sparkle will be lost without her.  Visitation will be Monday, February 19, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Walker Chapel Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with the burial to follow in Walker Chapel Memorial Gardens.
