Obituary Preview: William "Bill" Bernard Bowdler, Jr., age 60, of Corbin, KY, departed this life on Thursday, May 16, 2024, surrounded by friends and family.
Born on April 20, 1964, in Trenton, MI, he was the son of the late William "Bill" Bowdler, Sr., and Ruby Dugger Goforth. Bill lived with great service and kindness toward others. He greatly enjoyed tending his yard and spending time watching wildlife. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, a student of astrology, and much more. His greatest joy came from caring for and spending time with his grandchildren. A member of Living Waters Pentecostal Church, Bill was a man selflessly, devoted to his faith. He did nothing for personal gain, but to try and love others so that God might be glorified.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Jackie Helton Henderson, Debbie Helton Knight, and Marijean Bowdler; and his brother, Allen Keith Helton.
He is survived by his loving wife, Beverly Martin Bowdler of Corbin; two daughters, Rachel Grubb and husband Daniel of Gray, and Erica Goss and husband Raymond of Corbin; two special grandchildren, Brooklyn Eads and Brayden Eads of Corbin; grandchildren, Mackenzie Eads, Robert Michael Eads, and Chase Carr; a sister, Myra Goforth of Corbin; and by many special nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 pm on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm on Monday, May 20, 2024, at Living Waters Pentecostal Church in Gray, KY with Rev. Charlie Humfleet officiating.
Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Cumberland Memorial Gardens in Lily, KY, with Brooklyn Eads, Raymond Goss, Daniel Grubb, Jeremiah Goforth, Allen Helton, Brandon Laws, Thomas Hubbard, Ben Crosslin, and Steven Helton serving as pallbearers.
In Lieu of Flowers, the family is accepting donations to assist with expenses. Donations can be made by phone, in person at the funeral home, or by using the Tribute Fund to donate online. The family will receive a list of those who donate.

Born in Middlesboro, KY, she was a daughter to the late Noah Standifer and Mary Lake Standifer. Margie was devoted to her faith and enjoyed attending New Hope Church of God. She enjoyed crocheting and cooking. She was talented at both and enjoyed sharing these gifts with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Turner; and siblings, Bill Standifer (Elsie), Benton Standifer, Maxwell Standifer (Virginia), Virginia Funk (Frank), and Bernice Murrell (Frank).
She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Turner (Cory); son, Jimmy Turner (Jeanette); grandchildren, Kendra Turner, Courtney Earls, and Nathan Earls; a brother, Mahonia "Homer" Standifer (Jerry); and by several great-grandchildren.

He was born in Corbin, Kentucky, on December 28, 1977, to Wayne and Nancy Monhollen Storms.
Justin served his community as a school bus driver and diesel mechanic for Laurel County Public Schools. His love for his job was evident in his steadfast dedication and commitment to ensuring the safety and comfort of his young passengers. His jovial personality and warm smile made him a favorite amongst the children he drove and the colleagues he worked with. Justin never met a stranger. Through work, he made countless friends and gave memories that will be cherished forever.
Justin was preceded in death by his grandparents, Vernon and Ruby Storms, Richard and Pauline Monhollen, and by his uncle, Donnie Storms. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving wife, Traci Storms; brother, Ray (Nancy) Storms; nieces, Abby and Leah Shoemaker; nephew, Evan Shoemaker; sister-in-law, Emily (John) Shoemaker; brother-in-law, JD Westbrook-Morgan; and by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins "The brightest flame burns twice as quickly"

Her green thumb was evident in the vibrant blooms that adorned her residence, a testament to her care and devotion. Her passion for gardening was not merely a hobby, but an extension of her loving and creative spirit. Most importantly, Angeila loved spending time with her family and adored her dogs, Prissy, Boss Hog, and Buddy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Darrell Wayne Owens, and great-grandsons, Coston Dewayne Honeycutt and Landon Westerfield.

Born in Cincinnati, OH, he was the son of the late Edward Leon Paul and Muriel I. Paul. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during the Vietnam War Era. Ronnie lived life in the fast lane; he loved hard, laughed often, and enjoyed every moment. He was a hot rod enthusiast and could often be found working on an old car in his garage. The most important thing to Ronnie was his family, he was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings, Michael Paul, John Paul, and Darlene Campbell.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin "June Bug" Caddell; her father, James Bowman; brothers, Keith Lawson, Robert Bowman, and David Bowman; and by her brother-in-law, John Smith.
Carol is survived by her mother, Ellen Lawson (Kirby); children, Robert Scott Thigpen, Cynthia Joann Moreno-Smith (Tracy), Elisa Moreno-Hensley (Phillip), and Angela Denise Young (Patrick); grandchildren, Josh Henry, Bailey Thigpen, Kaziah Lewis, Olivia Smith, Zoe Smith, and she was awaiting another grandson; several great grandchildren; siblings, Judy Watson, Juanita Smith, Michael Bowman, Tracy Lawson, and Lorene Swanson; and by several nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

On November 26, 1987, Maggie was united it marriage to Billy Sammons, and to this union four children were born, one daughter, Angela Sammons (Amos Mills), and three sons, William Sammons (Shaketha), Allen Sammons (Amanda), and Chad Sammons (Ashley).  She was blessed with sixteen grandchildren.
Mrs. Sammons was preceded in death by her parents Squire William Lowe and Lottie Brock Lowe; two brothers, William Ronald Lowe and Terry Michael Lowe; one sister, Mary Margarett Roark; and by one nephew, William Ronald Lowe Jr.
In addition to her husband, children, and grandchildren, Maggie left many friends and loved ones who mourn her passing including five sisters, Jewell Warren, Judy Davis (Michael), Shelia Mills (David), Darlene Walker (Wesley), Doris Hill (Junior); and by four brothers, Jerry Lowe, Samuel Brock, Jimmy Brock, and Elmer Brock.

Russell was a member of Chapel Grove Baptist Church and loved music. He was a talented musician who played both the drums and guitar and he was a member of the Keavy Boys Gospel Group. He also loved to go horseback riding.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents, Willis Alvin Wilburn and Wanda Pearl Thompson Wilburn, and by his brothers, Tommy Wilburn, Bert Wilburn, and Ronnie Standridge.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jean Bennett Wilburn; children, Cathie Cornett (Earl), and Shawn Wilburn (Lisa); grandchildren, Matthew Cornett (Nancy), Colby Cornett (Kailey), Michael Wilburn, and Adam Wilburn; great grandchildren, Wyatt Cornett, Mattix Maynard, and Kylee Childers; sisters, Patsy Fridal and Lynda Schultz; and by many nieces, nephews, family and friends who will mourn his passing. Billie found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved flowers, their vibrant colors and varied fragrances filling her home and heart with peace and contentment. She was an avid bird watcher, finding beauty in their freedom and variety. Billie also had a fascination for genealogy, tracing her roots through the generations. However, what mattered most to Billie was spending time with her family and friends. Their happiness was her joy, their sorrows her pain. Her love was as boundless as her generosity, making every moment with her a cherished memory.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Georgianna Jackson, and nephew, Joel Brown, Jr.
She is survived by her children, Bobby Parker (Patsy) of Rockholds, KY, K.D. Parker of Corbin, KY, Curt Parker of Rockholds, KY, and Paula Grubb (Rick) of Rockholds, KY; brother, Joel Brown (Patsy) of Hammond, IN, and adopted son, Dale Lewis. She was Nannie to, Amanda Hubbs, (Frank), Kellie Carter (Michael), Robert Parker (Krystin), Tarrah Perkins, Hannah Parker, Jacob Parker, Lucas Grubb, and Logan Grubb; great-grandchildren, Kiley, Everly, Emmerson, and Georgia. She is also survived by her best friend, Donna Rains; brothers-in-law, Larry Parker (Peanut), Nick Parker (Rose Marie), and Bill Parker (Kathryn); and by a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Her funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at the funeral home with Rev. Vernon Jones officiating.

Brenda was a radiant beacon of love and light in the lives of those fortunate enough to know her. She had a deep love for her dogs, a passion for flowers, and a zest for traveling that led her to explore various corners of the world. Brenda loved cooking and eating, often transforming meals into delightful feasts. Her parties were legendary, full of laughter, fun, and the delicious food she loved to prepare. At the center of it all was her family, the people who mattered to her the most.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Homer Miller; parents, Gillis Bunch and Flonnie Peace Bunch; and brother, John Oakley Bunch.

He was very involved as a member of the Corbin Band Boosters, serving as President in 2014-2015 during his youngest son’s senior year.
He was a member of Poplar Grove Baptist Church, where his visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Tuesday, April 16, 2024. A service celebrating James' life will begin at 8pm with Rev. Victor Bramlett and Rev. Allen Bonnell officiating.

To know Donald was to know his love and knowledge for trucks. A passion he learned from his grandpa, Luke, and passed on to many others. Trucking was more than an occupation for Donald, it allowed him to travel the world and meet many people. When he was back home, he could be found watching U.K. basketball, football, or NASCAR races. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time on the lake. Most of all, Donald loved his family, especially his children, he cherished every moment spent with them.
Donald will be deeply missed, but comfort can be found in knowing that he is now in his eternal home. He is surely traveling all over his new home and has quickly become the new jokester. Hopefully, he is spending his time at the beach, a place he longed to return, waiting on us.
