Steve Bockting - October 23, 1948 - April 11, 2022

Obituary Preview: Steven William Bockting passed away peacefully in his sleep Monday morning April 11, 2022 at Hermann District Area Hospital.
Steve was born in Morrison, Missouri on October 23, 1948.  The son of the late William C. and Eveline C. (Layne) Bockting.
He was the husband of Donna (Schweerkotting) Bockting.  They were united in marriage on August 26, 1972 at Assumption Church, Morrison, Missouri.
Steve was a member of St. George Parish, St. George Cemetery Committee, Hermann, Missouri, Mississippi Valley Equipment Association board from 1999-2005 serving as president in 2004, Frene Valley Investment Club, Ham Breakfast Club and the Fraternal Order of Eagles #1328.
Steve started working at a young age for Wolf Brothers Cattle Farm and continued until he graduated from High School in 1967.  He then started working at Bockting Farm Equipment in Morrison.  In the early 1980s, he drove for Beauford Transfer Trucking Co. and Hines Implement part time.  In 1986 Steve and his father-in-law, Lyonel Schweerkotting purchased a John Deere Dealership becoming L & S Equipment in Hermann, which he co-owned and operated until 2010.
Farming was a passion of his, he loved to be busy working on equipment and especially putting up hay.  He enjoyed going on fishing trips with friends and family. He loved traveling with friends and especially his family.   You could often see Steve attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and activities.  Every year around Steve’s birthday, he looked forward to having a family/friends hayride at his home.
Steve is survived by his wife Donna of almost 50 years, son, Todd Bockting Hermann, MO,  two daughters, Tricia Rohlfing of Washington, MO and Tara Englert and husband Brian of Hermann, MO, five grandchildren, Joshua, Kyle and Trey Rohlfing and Sydney and Beau Englert.  A brother Allen Bockting of Rancho Cucamonga, California: a brother David Bocking of New Haven, Missouri, a sister Nancy Dillahunt of Pershing, Missouri, a sister Janet Bartok of Sedalia, Missouri, and a brother Bob Schowengerdt of Morrison, Missouri.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Darrell Bockting and William Bockting and a sister Ruth Ann Rudroff.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 19th from 2:00-8:00 pm at Toedtmann and Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann.
Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday at 10:00 am at St. George Church, Hermann, Missouri.
Burial will be at St. George Cemetery.

Jimmy is survived by a daughter, Danielle Riffle & husband Charlie; three sons, Dugan Rucker & wife Manda; Cody Rucker & wife Amanda; and Skyler Rucker & wife Kimmy, all of Hermann, Missouri; by nine grandchildren, and by his sisters, Sandra Remedies & husband Joseph, of Zwolle, Louisiana; Elizabeth "Beth" Eldringhoff of Hermann; Karen Remondet & husband Myron, of Reserve, Louisiana; Debbie Haley & Tom Busch, of New Haven; Patty Rucker, of Hermann; and Pam Deslatte & husband Donald, of Ponchatoula, Louisiana.   He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John Rucker, Jr.
A celebration of life will be held Friday, April 15th from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Rotunda in the upper Hermann City Park.

Tina was born in Wuerzburg, Germany on October 22, 1960, the daughter of Christian E. Hebert & Oneta C. (Baer) Moon.
She was the wife of Michael Geltz.  They were united in marriage on April 19, 1980, in East Peoria, Illinois.
Tina is survived by her parents, Christian Hebert & Oneta Moon, both of Owensboro, Kentucky, her husband, Michael Geltz, of Hermann, her two sons, Jesse Geltz, of Hermann, Missouri and Josh Geltz & wife Brittany, of Lakewood, Florida; a sister, Veronica Mitchell & husband Don, of Owensboro, Kentucky and a granddaughter, Chloe Geltz, of Lakewood, Florida.
Tina worked as the office manager for the State Farm Insurance Agency in Hermann for over 30 years.  When her boys were younger she was Den Mother in Cub Scouts, she was active in the Hermann Area Crusade Against Cancer and she was on the Hermann Park Board for several years.
In her free time she enjoyed making crafts and going to craft shows.  But she mostly enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her granddaughter Chloe and "The Tribe".
Visitation will be held Sunday, April 10th from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann.

Obituary Preview: Evelyn Faye Vogel, 75, of Hermann, MO, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2022 at Mercy Hospital South, St. Louis, Missouri.
Evelyn was born in Hermann, Missouri on October 16, 1946, a daughter of Vernon G. and Grace Amanda (Dothage) Gloe.
On October 16, 1965, she was united in marriage to Bobbie L. Vogel at Rhineland, Missouri.
She was a member of St. George Church Hermann, Evelyn was the church organist at St. Anthony's Church, Case for many years. She was also the church organist at St. George Church in Hermann for over 25 years. She was the treasurer and secretary of the Hermann Rural Fire Association for over 42 years and the secretary for the Case-Gore Community club.
She worked as a loan officer and teller at Bay- Hermann-Berger Bank, then the Missouri Bank, Hermann, Mo. She enjoyed going to bingo, tending to her flowers, and she was an avid gardener. She also loved to do needle work and spend time with her grandchildren.
Evelyn is survived by her husband Bobbie, by a daughter, Candice Issac, of Millstadt, Illinois; by a son, Donald Vogel and wife Christina of Wellsville, Mo;  a son, Brian Vogel and wife Jana of Bluffton, Mo;  by a daughter, Denise Kennedy and husband Kevin, of Morrison, Mo, by two sisters, Arlene Ashburn and husband Howard of Myrtle Beach, SC; and Donna Hebb and husband Ken of Stony Hill, Mo; by five brothers, Harold Gloe and wife Geralyn of Hermann, Mo; Lloyd Gloe and wife Donna , of Springfield, Mo; Roger Gloe and wife Melinda, of Amarillo, Tx; Ardel Gloe and wife Rose, of Hermann, Mo and Dale Gloe and wife Marsha, of Hermann, Mo.    She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, Ashley Taylor, Brandelyn Taylor, James Vogel, Christopher Vogel, Rebecca Vogel, Alexandra Vogel, Zachary Vogel, Karley Vogel, Holt Vogel, Allyson Branson, Christopher Kennedy, Matthew Kennedy and Jesse Kennedy and by five great grandchildren Hunter Branson Rowe, Noah Branson, and Dustin, Destiny and Cameron Kennedy. She is preceded in death by her parents and one grandson Blake Vogel.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday April 6th at 10:00 a.m. at St. George Church, Hermann, Missouri, with  Father Philip Niekamp officiating.
Rosary Vigil Service will be Tuesday April 5th at 3:30 p.m. at the Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, followed by visitation from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Burial will be at St. George Cemetery Hermann, Missouri.  Memorials may be given to St. Anthony's Church.

Flora was born in Rhineland, Missouri on July 10, 1939, to Sylvan & Alma (Van Booven) Heying.  She graduated St. George School in 1957.
She was united in marriage to Vernon "Pee Wee" Birk on September 27, 1958, at St. Joseph Church,Rhineland, Missouri.
She worked as a secretary for St. George Church until she went to work at the Jeter Clinic, which later became Hermann Medical Arts.  She worked there until her retirement in 2002.
Flora is survived by a brother, Monty Heying, of Foristell, Missouri; a sister, Sharon Butenhoff, of Mellville, Missouri; a daughter-in-law, Linda Lampkin, of Hermann, Missouri; two brothers-in-law, Charles Baumstark, of Hermann, Missouri; and Marvin Birk, of Gerald, Missouri; two sisters-in-law, Margie Heying, of Imperial, Missouri; and Sr. Dorothy Birk, of Wheaton, Illinois,  many nieces, nephews, great niece & nephews and great-great nieces & nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Virgil Birk, a sister, Verniel Baumstark, two brothers, Roy & Larry Heying, three sisters-in-law, Bertha Van Booven, Margaret Shaner and Kathy Birk and two nephews, Don Baumstark and Austin Van Booven.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 17th from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at St. George Church, Hermann, where a funeral mass will follow at 11:00 a.m., with Father Philip Niekamp officiating.

Obituary Preview: Julia Pauline Workman, 97 , of Hermann, MO, passed away Sunday, March 13th, 2022 at the Hermann Area District Hospital.
Julie was born in Glasgow, MO, on November 21, 1924. She was the daughter of the late Gilbert Wohlt and Teckla Berend-Schmidt.
Julie was the wife of the late Dr. George M. Workman. They were united in marriage on June 12, 1948 at the Hermann United Methodist Church.
Julie graduated from Hermann High School and went on to Missouri Baptist School of Nursing where she earned a degree as a Registered Nurse. She and Dr. Workman moved back to Hermann, MO in the early 1950’s where they stayed to raise their family and Dr. Workman continued his Father’s medical practice.
Julie was an avid fisherwoman, huntress, and expert turkey caller. She loved the outdoors. She loved to golf, cook, knit, garden, and play cards. Julie’s happiest place was at home taking care of her children. She was a cub scout den Mother and volunteered often for the red cross during blood drives.
Julie is survived by her daughter Barbara Wyland; son Dean Workman and friend Donna Austin; daughter Miranda Hartman and her husband Gary; daughter Jenifer Frink and her husband Sam; and daughter Sarah Worley and her husband Sam. Also surviving are her grandchildren Craig Hartman and his wife Laura; Chad Hartman and his wife Jill; Kirsten Parr and her husband Jason; Curtis Hartman and his wife Stephanie; Nathan Hartman and his wife Alana; Erin Adams and her husband Josh; Beth Epple and her husband Brian; Drew Workman and his wife Chelsea; and Haily Kolbe and her husband Josh.
She was also blessed with 24 great grandchildren, Madeline, Olivia, Will, Aislinn, Danielle, Kyra, Baylie, Savanah, Brennan, Marissa, Emmett, Augustus, Maggie, Charlie, Henry, Reed, Peter, Hattie, Georgia, Willa, Carter, Hanna, Avery, and Lottie.
She was preceded death by her parents, her husband, her brother Paul Wohlt and his wife Betty; brother Thomas Wohlt and his wife Iris; and sister Loretta Chadwick and her husband Bill.
Per Julie’s request, there will be no funeral services or memorials.

She was born on May 26th, 1933, in Berger, a daughter to the late Emil Albietz and Elsie (Vohs) Albietz.
On June 1, 1957, she was united in marriage to Alvin Fredrick at St. John’s Evangelical and Reformed Church in Berger.  He preceded her in death on March 13, 1970.
Laverne worked at the International Shoe Company in Hermann for 10 years.  She also worked for the Langenberg Hat Company in Berger for 25 years.  Laverne spent most of her life on the Fredrick Family farm.  She enjoyed gardening and doing yard work.  She enjoyed cooking and trying new recipes. She liked traveling to Branson and taking trips with her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Hermann and was also a member of the Women’s Fellowship. She was a volunteer at Frene Valley Nursing Home and for the Senior Center in Hermann.
Her family was her pride and joy. She has 1 son, 2 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She loved to spend time with her family on the farm and spent many days sharing stories with her grandchildren.
Survivors include:  Her son, David Fredrick of Berger, and her grandchildren: Joseph (Jessica) Fredrick, Samantha (David) Greunke; 4 great grandchildren: Jillian and Jordan Fredrick and Dakota and Daxton Greunke.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 10th from 9:00 to 11:0 a.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, where funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m.

Ron proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.
He was the husband of Denise (Baecker) Goodwin. They were married on  March 26, 1999,  in Hermann, Missouri.
Ron enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing, cooking and grilling for his family and making and drinking homemade wine. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Ron was especially proud to help with the  local "Jake's Day Event"  to benefit young hunters and teach them the beauty of the outdoors.   Ron is survived by his wife, Denise, by two daughters, Shauna Goodwin and significant other Patrick Heady, of Washington; and Kaleena Pittman and husband Daniel, of New Haven; by two sons, John Klepper and wife Bernita, of Hermann and Dalton Klepper of the home, by his grandchildren, Kaiden, Kolden, and Kinleigh Pittman, Guy, Hailey, Mason and Amya Klepper, by a sister, Anna Hurst and husband Dave, of St. Clair, a brother, Mark Goodwin, of Villa Ridge and a brother-in-law, Douglas Baecker, of Hermann.
He is preceded in death by his parents, by two  sisters Diana "Dee" Walker, and Jackie Lehr and her husband Jim Lehr.
Memorial visitation will be held Friday, March 11, 2022, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral  Home, Hermann, with a memorial service following at 7:00 p.m.

She was united in marriage to Severn D. Heying on April 4, 1959 at St. Martin's Church, Starkenburg, Missouri.   Severn preceded her in death on September 7, 2004.
Evelyn was a member of Church of the Risen Savior, Rhineland. She worked in housekeeping for Hermann Area District Hospital for many years.
Evelyn is survived by a daughter, Sheila Deppe & husband Derald, of Pershing, Missouri; a son, Stanley Heying & wife Lisa, of Rhineland, Missouri; a daughter, Renee Ziegler & husband Joseph, of Kirkwood, Missouri; a son, Everett Heying & wife Kelli, of Shawnee, Kansas; by eight grandchildren, Heather, Julianna, Shaun, Wes, Alison, Bryan, Cameron and Seth, by one step grandchild, Jamie, by four great grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother, Melvin Schlatt.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 1st from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Church of the Risen Savior, Rhineland, where a funeral mass will follow at 11:00 a.m., with Father Philip Niekamp officiating.

Shirley is survived by a daughter, Virginia  Mundwiller, of Owensville, Missouri; three sons, Donald Webber, of Berger, Missouri; Ronald Webber, of Berger, Missouri; and Robert Webber, of Villa Ridge, Missouri; by a grandson, Christopher Webber, of Union, Missouri, a granddaughter, Elmeria Webber, of Villa Ridge, and one great grandchild, Eli Webber.
Visitation will be held Monday, February 28th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:00 a.m.

She was the widow of John A. Kohrs.  They were united  in marriage on October 9, 1954, in New Jersey.  John preceded her in death on May 29, 2020.
Helen enjoyed dancing with her husband, gardening, cooking for her family and crocheting items for her children.
Helen is survived by a son, Robert Kohrs & wife Jayne, of Excello, Missouri; a daughter-in-law, Marcy Kohrs, of Oviedo, Florida, by seven grandchildren, Sam Kohrs, Michael Kohrs, Susie Brown, Lisa Cullen, John David Kohrs, Matt Kohrs and Fred Kohrs and by 10 great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a son, John Allen Kohrs.
Visitation and funeral services will be private.  Burial will be at Oak Haven Memorial Gardens, Hermann.

She was the widow of Harvey T. Humburg.   They were married on May 3, 1947, in Jefferson City, Missouri.  They made their home on the Suedmeyer-Humburg farm near Hermann, Mo.
Selma worked at International Shoe, Florsheim and other factories until she retired.  She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Hermann.  She was an avid quilter and made quilts for most of her family.
Selma is survived by three daughters, Ileen Theissen, Beverly (Mike) Theissen and Sheila (Alvin) Theissen, by 10 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren and by her sister-in-law, JoAnn Ball.
She is preceded in death by her parents, by her husband Harvey, by her daughter, Barbara Humburg, a granddaughter, Tina Staley, by a son-in-law, Lloyd Theissen, by her sisters, Mildred  Antweiler, Dorothy Callendar, and Nellie Romaker, and her brothers, George Ball Jr., Raymond, Richard, Henry, Luther and Harrison Barbarick.

Patricia, preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Clarence M. Robnett, Jr, is survived by her four children, Twila (Larry) Frey of O'Fallon, Missouri; Scott Robnett Sr. of Hermann, Missouri; Keith (LiPing) Robnett of Tigard, Oregon; and Cassandra (Joe) Vollenberg of Newburg, Maryland.
She is also survived by her brother, Bruce Cox and wife Bobbie of Hermann, Missouri; by six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, by three sisters-in-law, Georgia Wiles of Farmington, Missouri; Delores Koch of St. Louis; and Laura Holder of St. Louis.
Patricia was very involved in the church and was a member of Geyer Road Baptist Church in Kirkwood, where she was a member of the choir and served as the church librarian. When she moved to Hermann she became a member of the First Baptist Church of Hermann, where she also served as the church librarian.
She had a great sense of humor, enjoyed singing, was an avid reader and crafter and loved to spend an entire day at a library or craft fair, but mostly loved spending time with her friends and family. She spent many hours playing cards and boards games with them. She was an animal lover, had a passion for owls, and loved her puppies the most. She enjoyed gardening, her plants and made the best chocolate chip cookies.
Visitation will be held Monday, February 21st, from 4-7 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, Missouri, where funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 22nd at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be in Hermann Cemetery.  Memorials may be given to Hermann Fire Company, Alzheimer's Association or to donors local library, in care of Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.

He was the husband of Kathryn L. (Slocum) Shoemaker.  They were united in marriage on July 2, 1960.
Noel started his career working at Hawthorne.  He has also worked for McDonnell Douglas, owned the Silver Dollar Restaurant in Swiss and worked in residential construction.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, mowing grass and working on the farm.
Noel is survived by his wife Kathryn Shoemaker, of Hermann, Missouri; a daughter, Rebecca Purdy & husband Arthur, of New Haven, Missouri; two sons, Jeffrey Shoemaker & wife Cheryl, of New Port Richey, Florida; and Jerry Shoemaker & wife Sherry, of Gerald, Missouri; two sisters, Lois Scego, of Owensville, Missouri; and Frances Williamson, of Washington, Missouri, by seven grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Gerald Shoemaker, and a sister, Karen McGee.

He was the husband of Mary A. (Meyer) Struttman.  They were united in marriage on December 3, 1960,  at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Hermann.
Frank was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Hermann.  He worked in quality control for Home Inc. in Hermann for many years and during that time he was also part owner of Loutre Gas Station and Cafe.
Frank was known as a prankster and was a very outgoing person who never met a stranger.  In his free time Frank enjoyed gardening, working in the woods cutting fire wood, riding in the gas truck with his son Chad, spending time with his Yorkies that he and Mary raised, and spending time with his family.  In his younger years Frank was a mechanic and loved to work on cars.  He passed this knowledge and love on to his children.

Obituary Preview: Ardene Amanda Schoening of Hermann Rural Route, went to be with Jesus in the early hours of Wed., Feb. 2, 2022, at the New Haven Care Center, at the age of 88. Ardene was born in Washington, MO on April 11, 1933, the daughter of the late Herman & Welma (Zastrow) Topel.
She was united in marriage to Calvin F. Schoening on May 20, 1951, at St. James United Church of Christ, Stony Hill, MO. Calvin preceded her in death on August 4, 1995.
Ardene was a lifelong member of St. James Evangelical Church, Stony Hill. She was active in the St. James Women’s Guild, taught Sunday School and VBS, and her and Calvin were faithful servants for the St. James church picnics, and many church events.
Ardene was first and foremost a farmer’s wife as the homemaker. She always had a garden, chickens, and a cow to milk. After raising her daughters, she also worked at Langenburg Hat Factory in New Haven and for Swiss Meat Company in Swiss, MO.
In retirement, she enjoyed her free time going to Senior Centers in New Haven, Gerald, or Owensville to play pinochle & bingo. She delivered Meals on Wheels for many years in the Gerald area. She enjoyed reading, going to musical shows, working at & attending county fairs, attending church and church activities, but most importantly, her time with family and activities on the farm. Her family was everything to her and she was loyal, encouraging, and supportive to the end.
Ardene leaves a lasting legacy always to be remembered. She is survived by two daughters, Sherry Traub and husband Alan, of Hermann, MO and Mary Ann Boland, of Washington, MO; three granddaughters, Callie Traub, Holts Summit, MO, Amber Boland, of St. Louis, MO, and Brianne Boland, of Austin, Texas; and a sister Lavern Coon and husband Jim, of Owensville, MO and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister, Arlene Hahne, and a brother, Maynard Topel.
Visitation will be held Monday, Feb. 7th from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at St. James Evangelical Church, Stony Hill, where funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Tom Lloyd officiating.

Deborah worked 16 years at Bandag Rubber Company in Muscatine, Iowa.  She then opened her own custom sewing and alterations business in Burlington, where she worked for 14 years.
Deborah was a devoted wife and mother and could do almost anything.  Her and James moved to the Hermann area in 2005, where she was secretary and book keeper for the community center.
Deborah is survived by her husband James, a daughter, Sarah Chewning & husband Shannon, of Roseville, Illinois; a son, Robert Causey & wife Melody, of Burlington, Iowa; a step daughter, Michelle Darrow & husband Vince, of Blue Grass, Iowa;  a sister, Jenni Shaklett & husband Tom, of Farmington, Iowa,grandchildren, John and Oceanna of Jefferson City, Missouri; Kaite Whitehall and husband Jay, of Middland, Michigan; Joshua James Ash of Muscaline, Iowa; Jeramie Anderson & wife Victoria, of Blue Grass, Iowa and Isabela Chewning, of Roseville, Illinois.   She is preceded in death by her parents and her step mother, Christa Butts.
Deborah was loved by her friends and neighbors in the close knit Brown Shanty Community. Wanda worked at Bank of Washington for over 35 years as a teller until she later became the travel manager. In her free time she enjoyed singing, traveling, and going to watch her son race.  Wanda was a good cook and enjoyed cooking, especially making desserts.
