Andrew Xuat Pickart - May 29, 2019 - April 09, 2024

Departed: 04/09/2024 (Egg Harbor Township)
Obituary Preview: Andrew Xuat Pickart, age 4, passed away on April 9, 2024 in his mother's arms and surrounded by family due to complications of Neuroblastoma, a childhood cancer that he bravely fought for two years. Andrew was born on May 29, 2019 and is the beloved son of Michael David Pickart and Anhthu (Pham) Pickart. As the youngest of three children, he brought joy and light every day to his family.
Andrew was an incredibly kind and loving little boy that jumped up at the chance to help – whether putting away groceries, setting the table, helping his father build a bookcase or making bracelets with his sister. He displayed a wisdom and kindness beyond his years, with a memory of what brought joy to others and surprising them with it days, weeks or months later, even while on a ventilator in the hospital in his last weeks of life, showing favorite songs and videos to his family. He was especially his mother’s champion, and no one could contradict her without hearing about it from Andrew.
Andrew loved learning about the wonders of God’s creation. He could tell you in order the names of all eight planets in the solar system as well as the five dwarf planets and loved many nights looking up at his bedroom ceiling with his brother where we projected images of nebulas, galaxies, and stars. He could tell you the five zones of the ocean and what creatures lived in each, as well as many amazing facts about them like the shark with the strongest bite and the hunting technique of certain sea snails. He loved digging for sand crabs at the beach as well as adding new beautiful shells to his collection. He was starting to learn about evolution and was fascinated by documentaries that showed the story of life on our planet. He was also fascinated by the work and bravery of those that serve, and developed a lifelong love for police, fire, and emergency services. Andrew was honored with a birthday parade last year by the Egg Harbor Township police department and local fire departments, and later that summer was made an honorary police officer of the Sarasota police department by the chief of police and the mayor while on his Make a Wish trip. Every night he would ask his father to tell him an ‘Andrew Hero story’ where Andrew brought peace and justice to the world by “catching the bad guys.”
Andrew is survived by his parents, Michael and Anhthu (Pham) Pickart; siblings Kyra and Erik; grandparents Annette Tran, John Pickart and Martha Dunegan; uncles and aunts An Pham and Tranhtram Nguyen, Tan and Dana Nguyen, Dylan Pham and Thoa Vu, and Matt Pickart; cousins Joseph “Bi” Pham and Linh Vu, Hau Pham, Tyra and Talena Nguyen, Mia and Liam Pham; and many beloved extended family members. Andrew was preceded in death by his grandfather Peter (Xuat Van) Pham. Visitation and Services will be held, Saturday and Sunday as noted at The Godfrey Funeral Home and Monday, Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saint Katharine Drexel Church. Services on April 14 will be live streamed and available the day of on Andrew’s obituary page where condolences may also be shared.  https://client.tribucast.com/tcid/9926751425
Andrew received treatment for his cancer in New York, Philadelphia and Wilmington from leaders in the field, and was so patient and strong as he endured many rounds of harsh chemotherapies, radiation and other attempts to stop the cancer. If you would like to make a contribution in his honor to any of three amazing organizations that helped make Andrew's time here better, and help other kids like Andrew, your donation will go to a very good place. James V. Greco - June 02, 1948 - November 03, 2023

Departed: 11/03/2023 (Egg Harbor Township)
Obituary Preview: James Greco (Jimmy), 75, passed away with his family by his side on November 3, 2023.
Born in South Philadelphia and spending some of his youth in Miami and Atlantic City, Jimmy decided to put roots back down in South Philly where he met his wife and had his three girls before moving "down the shore" where he resided for 35 years. Jimmy was a Shop Steward and driver for Atlantic County Transportation for 25 years until his retirement in 2016. Prior to moving down the shore, Jimmy was a real estate broker in South Philly where he worked for the Philadelphia Navy Yard and then owned and operated multiple real estate offices.
Everyone who knew Jimmy got to hear about his love of fishing and horse racing; but his true love was taking care of his family, which he did best through his cooking and storytelling. In his words, his "darling bride" Liz and his "three lovely daughters" Jenn, Maria and Jamie were his top priority, but everyone who knew him knows that Jimmy didn't define family as those just connected by blood. Once you were a part of his life, to Jimmy you were family. This fact was never more prevalent then in the love, support and guidance that he provided to the countless kids that in some way grew up in "The Greco House".
As a member of the Atlantic Lodge No. 221 F&AM, Jimmy was a Freemason who took pride in incorporating the Masonic Oath into his daily life, including being a part of welcoming his son-in-law, Keith, into the Brotherhood.
Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Elizabeth, and his three lovely daughters, Jennifer Wendling (Keith), Maria Ferragame (Vincent) and Jamie Giannakaris (Demetrios) and three grandchildren, Alexsia, Jonathan and Gianna, his Aunt Adeline, Uncle Salvatore, many cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his mother, Mary and several aunts and uncles.
A visitation and service will be held at Godfrey Funeral Home, 4008 English Avenue, Egg Harbor Township, NJ 08234 on Saturday, November 11, 2023 from 1:30pm to 3:00pm. A Memorial and Masonic Service will follow.
