Departed: 04/18/2022 (Seaboard)
Obituary Preview: “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” ~ II Timothy 4:7-8
Melvin Deloatch, son of the late Andrew Warren and Ozella J. Deloatch, was born on Wednesday, July 27, 1949 in Northampton County, North Carolina.
‘Big Melvin’, as he was fondly called by his loving family and friends, attended Willis Hare High School of Pendleton, North Carolina. At the age of 15, he became employed with Joe Edwards Farms in Pendleton and proudly worked there for 50 years, until his retirement.
At an early age, ‘Big Melvin’ joined Zoar Missionary Baptist Church. He recently rededicated his life to Christ and renewed his Christian Fellowship.
“Love recognizes no barriers. It jumps hurdles, leaps fences, penetrates walls to arrive at its destination full of hope.” (Maya Angelou)  At the age of 15, ‘Big Melvin’ found love when he met Pearlie Mae Williams. This union was blessed with the birth of four children.
‘Big Melvin’ was loved by everyone he came into contact with. He loved to laugh and always had a good joke. He never complained about anything and remained humble. In his spare time, he loved fishing, hunting, riding his bike, watching westerns and dancing. If you turned on the music, you were sure to enjoy him performing the dance he invented, “The Washing Machine”.
Spending quality time with family and friends, brought Melvin much joy. He was a free spirit and marched to the beat of his own drum. When he obtained his driver’s license, he would just joy ride - carrying people around as if he was a taxi driver.
On Monday, April 18, 2022; while in the comfort of his home, Melvin quietly transitioned from this earthly life unto eternal life. Mother Mamie Irene Walden - May 20, 1929 - April 08, 2022

Departed: 04/08/2022 (Seaboard)
Obituary Preview: "She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all!” ~ Proverbs 31: 26 - 29
Today we pause to pay tribute to the LIFE, LOVE and LEGACY of MOTHER MAMIE IRENE BOONE WALDEN, who was a loving, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend.
Mamie graced the earth with her presence on Monday, May 20, 1929. She was born to the parentage of the late Grady W. Boone and Bertha A. Roberts Boone in Northampton County, North Carolina. Mamie soon matured into a sweet and compassionate lady. Her education was obtained through the public schools of Northampton County. Mamie believed in God; the Father Almighty, who created heaven and earth. She possessed strong faith in Christ and did not waiver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, always acknowledging his presence. Having God as an integral part of her upbringing, Mamie accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior, early in life.
As life progressed, Mamie relocated to New York, where she lived for several years. While there, she worked at Downstate Medical Center as a Operating Room Technician. She was no stranger to hard work. Even after her retirement and return to North Carolina, she continued to work in the medical field, serving with the Northampton County EMS. She loved helping others and would do anything she could to help anyone in need. She was a true missionary, as she took visiting and caring for the sick and shut-it very seriously. In her spare time, she found great pleasure in working in her yard and gardening. Mamie united in Christian Fellowship with Evangelistic Church of Deliverance, Weldon, North Carolina, where her spiritual gifts were nurtured and love for God deepened.
"The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; that they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.(Titus 2: 3-5)  Mamie’s fear of God, foresight, encouragement, care for others and love for her family, all led her to a life of enjoyment, honor and worth. She proudly served as a member of the ECOD Mother’s Board Ministry.
“After the clouds, the sunshine; after the winter, the spring; After the shower, the rainbow; for life is a changeable thing. After the night, the morning, bidding all darkness cease, After life’s cares and sorrows, the comfort and sweetness of peace.” On Friday, April 8, 2022; God in His infinite wisdom, lifted Mother Mamie Irene Boone Walden from this world of sin, sorrow and pain to a place of eternal rest. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by: her spouse, Willie Walden, Leroy Odom and John Harris; daughter, Vivian Denise Walden; and siblings, Bertha Stanley, John Boone, Beulah Long and Joseline Osborne.
"Your life was full of loving deeds, forever thoughtful of our special needs. Today and tomorrow, our whole life through, we will always love and cherish you." Her sweet spirit, caring heart and generosity will long be remembered by all those whose lives she touched. We who remain, struck by the bitter pain of death, but satisfied with the promise made by God, that He would wipe all tears from our eyes: two children, Willie Walden of the home and Deborah Walden of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina; three grandchildren, Tomeka Walden, Cassandra Walden and Hubert Myrick; three great-grandchildren, Jay’lynn Clanton, I’jaylah Clanton and Ariya Rose Myrick; a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Linnie Sue 'LS' Abrom - September 10, 1924 - March 18, 2022

Departed: 03/18/2022 (Seaboard)
Obituary Preview: She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all!” ~ Proverbs 31: 26 - 29
Linnie Sue Abrom, daughter of the late James ‘Gene’ Deloatch and Ida Worrell Deloatch, began her earthly pilgrimage on Wednesday, September 10, 1924 in Northampton County, North Carolina.
‘LS’, as she was affectionately known, was educated in the public schools of Northampton County. Being reared in a Christian home, accepted Jesus Christ, early in life, as her personal Savior and became a member of the Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church of Seaboard, North Carolina. It was there that her spiritual gifts were developed and love for God deepened. She was a faithful member of the church, serving in several capacities, until her demise.
On Saturday, September 11, 1954, ‘LS’ was united in Holy Matrimony to Jacob ‘Jake’ Abrom in Emporia, Virginia. This union was blessed with the birth of one son, Thomas James Abrom.
‘LS’ loved people and was known by many for her affection, genuine love and infectious smile that would easily brighten your day. Her smile was also accompanied by a warm and bubbly personality. She possessed grace, strength and tenacity. She was also very strong minded, kind and a giving woman of faith. ‘LS’ loved her family unconditionally and would do anything she could to help anyone she could. Children brought her great joy. Nothing made ‘LS’ more happy than having children around her, which led her to serve as a foster mother to many for over forty seven years.
‘LS’ found great joy in cooking for her family and friends alike. Many palates have been tempted by her tasty dishes and homemade desserts.
To help provide for her family, ‘LS’ worked on the farm and as a domestic engineer. In later years, she was employed as a seamstress, until her retirement and then she became employed with Doll Heaven. Her qualities of hard work, fear of God, respect she had for her husband, love for her children, foresight, encouragement, care for others, concern for the poor and love for her family, all led her to a life of enjoyment, honor and worth.
When peace like a river, attendeth my way, When sorrows like sea billows roll, Whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say, It is well, it is well with my soul.” On Friday, March 18, 2022, while in the care of Vidant Roanoke Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie, North Carolina, ‘LS’ recalled the refrain “It is well, it is well with my soul” and crossed the great divide, exchanging life for eternal rest. Her seeds are well-sown; her service on earth is complete, and she now experiences the victory and triumph of eternal life. She is now reunited with those who have preceded her in death: her parents, beloved husband, ‘Jake’ and siblings, George Gatling, Bertha Mae Lassiter, Mildred Vaughan and Cleveland Barnes.
Your life was full of loving deeds, forever thoughtful of our special needs. Today and tomorrow, our whole life through, we will always love and cherish you. Sunset and evening star, And one clear call for me! And may there be no moaning of the bar, When I put out to sea, But such a tide as moving seems asleep, Too full for sound and foam, When that which drew from out the boundless deep Turns again home. Twilight and evening bell, And after that the dark! And may there be no sadness of farewell, When I embark; For tho’ from out our bourne of Time and Place the food may bear me far, I hope to see my Pilot face to face When I have crost the bar. On Friday, March 18, 2022, our dear loved one quietly crossed the bar and went home to be with the Lord. He is now reunited with his beloved parents, niece, Courtney Phillips, mother-in-law, Tearsel Bynum and many other relatives and friends, who have gone on before him.

Esther Michelle 'Punkin' Thomas - March 20, 1954 - March 09, 2022

Departed: 03/09/2022 (Seaboard)
Obituary Preview: Memories are treasures no one can steal. Death is the heartache nothing can heal.
Some may forget you now that you are gone, But we shall remember you no matter how long.
In humble submission to God’s will, we pause today, to pay tribute to the life, love and spirit of Esther Michelle Murphy Thomas, who was a loving mother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She was one who loved unconditionally, and not only nurtured her family, but enriched the lives of many. On Saturday, March 20, 1954, a beautiful soul was born to the loving care of the late Johnny W. Murphy and Martha Darden Murphy in Seaboard, (Northampton County) North Carolina. ‘Punkin’, as we all affectionately called her, soon grew and developed into a sweet and compassionate woman, who met no stranger!
‘Punkin’ matriculated through the public schools of Northampton County; graduating from Gumberry High School - Class of 1972. Being reared in a Christian home, she accepted Jesus Christ, early in life, as her personal Savior and became a member of the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church of Seaboard, North Carolina. It was there that her spiritual gifts were developed and love for God deepened. She was a faithful member of the church, serving as an Usher and in several other capacities, as long as her health permitted.
As a long time resident of Seaboard, a town very near and dear to Punkin’s heart, she was employed with the former Village Market for many years. Afterwhich, she was employed with Liberty Commons Nursing & Rehabilitation Center of Weldon, Family Advantage Rehab of Pleasant Hill, K & K Home Health Care of Garysburg and she provided private duty personal care for many throughout her community.
‘Punkin’ applied the word according to the Apostle Paul in Galatians 5:14: “For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this you shall love your neighbor as yourself”. Not only was she loving, but was very giving of her time and her talents. ‘Punkin’ gained much respect in the community because she would always do anything she could, to help anyone. She was a true servant-at-heart, which led her to also serve as President of the Seaboard Civic Club. ‘Punkin’ was a beautiful person both internally and externally, and was known to many by her affection, genuine love and infectious smile, that could easily brighten anyone’s day. Her smile was accompanied by a warm and bubbly personality along, with a great fashion sense. In addition, ‘Punkin’ was known for her “Go-To-Meeting” hats. She was a sweet spirit, who carried a thankful heart for the things God gave her, whether big or small. ‘Punkin’ was also a woman who possessed strength and tenacity - enjoying life to the fullest! To know her was to love her and she was known by many throughout!
How is it that we never saw your wings when you were here with us? When you closed your eyes and soared to the Heavens we could hear the faint flutter of your wings as you left. Your body is no longer on this side, your spirit here eternally. We see your halo shine. We close our eyes and see the multicolored wings surrounding us in my saddest moments and in our happiest times. ‘Punkin’, our angel, God has given you your assignment, always loving and now forever our angel. On Wednesday, March 9, 2022; while in the serenity of her home, ‘Punkin’ quietly slipped into eternal slumber and gained her wings. A golden heart stopped beating, Hard working hands at rest, It broke our hearts to see you go, God only takes the best... Our lips cannot speak how we love you, Our hearts cannot tell what to say, But God only knows how we miss you, In our home that is lonely on today. We who remain, stuck by the bitter pains of death, but satisfied at the promise made by God, that he will wipe all tears from our eyes are: one son, Derrick B. Thomas (Sheketia) of Weldon, North Carolina; three sisters, Edith A. Murphy of the home, Mary L. Broady of Garysburg, North Carolina and Lavern Love of Los Angeles, California; two nieces, DaNiesha M. Jacobs (Kenneth) of Durham, North Carolina and Teresa Brown of Landover, Maryland; great-niece, Cori M. Nelson of Durham, North Carolina; great-nephew, Rylee Billings of Landover, Maryland; a host of wonderful cousins and loving friends, who were valued as her family

and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death,

Life is but a stopping place, A pause in what’s to be, A resting place along the road, to sweet eternity. We all have different journeys, Different paths along the way, We all were meant to learn some things, but never meant to stay… Our destination is a place, Far greater than we know. For some the journey is quicker, For some the journey’s slow. And when the journey finally ends, We’ll claim a great reward, And find an everlasting peace, Together with the Lord. On Monday, February 28, 2022 while in the care of Signature Healthcare Center of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, our dear loved one, peacefully transitioned from this earthly life to a land of peace and rest. In addition to his parents, Lloyd was also preceded in death by one brother, James E. Pierce.

Departed: 02/27/2022 (Seaboard)
Obituary Preview: “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” ~Revelation 1: 4
Timothy Jackson Dickerson, Sr., was born on Thursday, October 9, 1958 in Jackson, North Carolina to the parentage of the late Robert ‘Bob’ Porter and Lilly Helen Williams. He was reared in the Galatia Community of Northampton County by the late John and Bessie Dickerson.
Tim, as he was affectionately called by his family and friends, was educated in the Northampton County Public School System; graduating from Northampton High School in 1976. He matriculated at Livingston College in Salisbury, North Carolina. Tim enjoyed working on the family farm, until his health prevented him from doing so. He found great joy in hunting and cooking. If Tim wasn’t hunting or cooking, you could find him kicked back, watching his favorite football team - The Pittsburgh Steelers!
“In tears we saw you sinking, we saw you fade away. You suffered much in silence, you fought so hard to stay. You faced your task with courage, your spirit did not bend. But you still kept on fighting, until the very end.” On Sunday, February 27, 2022, our Lord and Savior peacefully dispatched his divine angels to give our dear loved one peace that only comes from the true vine. While in the care of Vidant Medical Center, Greenville, North Carolina holding the hand of his longtime friend and loving wife, Brenda, Tim answered the master’s call from time to eternity. He now is reunited with those who preceded him in death.
“The clock of life is wound but once, And no one has the power, To tell just where the hands will stop, At late or early hour. To lose ones wealth is sad indeed, To lose one’s health is more, To lose one’s soul is such a loss, As no one can restore. The present only is our own, Live, love, toil with a will, Place no faith in tomorrow, For the clock may then be still.” We, who are bound by treasured ties of affection and love, as we pass him to God’s keeping are: his loving wife, Brenda Lee Dickerson of the home; daughter, Jessica Marie Dickerson of Lasker, North Carolina; Timothy ‘TJ’ Dickerson, Jr. (Kim) of Franklin, Virginia; his beloved grandchildren, DaNaijha Dickerson, Tyreik Dickerson, Jayden Lassiter, Skylar Dickerson, Dynasty Dickerson and Jaxson Dickerson; a special great-grandchild, born on March 3, 2022; sisters, Helen Ann Williams of New Jersey, Shirley Ramsey (Grover) of Garysburg, North Carolina and Gilda Jackson (Harry) of Pendleton, North Carolina; brothers, James A. ‘Bull’ Williams of New Jersey, Jimmy Cotton, Sr. (Samyra) of New Castle, Delaware and Anthony Cotton (Lori) of Garysburg, North Carolina; aunts, Carolyn Jenkins, Shirley Williams and Dorothy Buffaloe all of New Jersey, Josephine Black of Virginia, Ethel Fennel and Deloris Williams both of Maryland and Barbara Williams of New York; uncle, George Williams of New Jersey; daughter-in-law, Topeka Dickerson; loving sisters-in-law, Patricia Dickerson, Theresa Carter, Shanna Dickerson and Phyllis Dickerson, whom he helped to care for; brothers-in-law, Antonio Bynum, Raymond ‘JR’ Dickerson and Clinton Dickerson; special cousins, Sam Boone and Frank ‘Rooster’ Deloatch, Jr.; close friends, Donnell Gay, Sherman Mizelle and Raymond Mann; a host of other loving relatives and friends. Obituary Preview: Remembering ‘Nanky’... “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” ~Revelation 1: 4
With humble submission to the will of God, we pause to pay tribute to the life, love and memory of Frederick Shaunte Kee; who was a loving son, father, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend.
‘Nanky’, as he was a ectionately called by his family and friends, was born on Thursday, November 21, 1985 in Greenville, (Pitt County) North Carolina to the parentage of Minister Betty Parker Kee and the late Ulysses Grant Kee, Jr. He was educated in the Northampton County School System; graduating from Miracle Tabernacle Christian School of Weldon, North Carolina.
Everyone has his own specific vocation or mission in life; everyone must carry out a concrete assignment that demands fulfillment. Therein he cannot be replaced, nor can his life be repeated, thus, everyone’s task is unique as his specific opportunity to implement it. (by: Viktor E. Frankl.) ‘Nanky’ soon matured into a respectable young man and landed his first job at Jersey Dollar. He later gained employment with the Virginia Department of Corrections and lastly with Sun Energy of Gaston, North Carolina, as a security officer. In addition to being gainfully employed, ‘Nanky’ was a talented pianist, excellent grill master and skillful handy man - a true “Jack-of-ALL-Trades”. He could fix practically anything! You would often find him doing odd jobs such as carpentry and plumbing - just to name a few, throughout the community helping those in need. God in Heaven had a plan. For each sunset there’s a sunrise in a land we cannot see. There’s a place of love and purity that’s called eternity! On Friday, February 25, 2022, our beloved ‘Nanky’ was embraced in the arms of the Lord. No candles are even needed, for God provides the light. Our father knows what’s best for us, so why should we complain?
We thought of you today, but that is nothing new. We thought about you yesterday and the day before that too. We think of you in silence and often speak your name. Now all we have are memories and your picture in a frame. Your memory is our keepsake, with which we’ll never part. God has you in His keeping and we have you in our hearts. We who remain struck by the bitter pain of death, but are assured by the promise of God; that He would wipe all tears from our eyes: three children, Shaniiyah Nii’Asia Kee and Sanura Neveah Kee both of Clayton, North Carolina and Jayden Kharon Kee of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina; his mother, Minister Betty Kee of Garysburg, North Carolina; three brothers, Marvin Kee (Lisa) of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, Bishop Tony Kee of Brooklyn, New York and Eric Kee of Newport News, Virginia; one sister, Rosa Kee of Manassas, Virginia; a special aunt, Brenda Parker of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina; special friends, Kathleen Valentine, Tamera Parker, Shanice Crowell and Ella Rawles; a close family friend, Tricia Goddard of Manassas, Virginia; a host of other loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Mae Queen Knight - June 15, 1941 - February 10, 2022

Departed: 02/10/2022 (Seaboard)
Obituary Preview: The Life & Legacy of Mae Queen Knight
For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fought, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge,
shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. ~ II Timothy 4: 6 -8
Mae Queen Knight, daughter of the late Raymond Jordan, Sr. and Gerline Faison Jordan, was born, Sunday, June 15, 1941, in Northampton County, North Carolina.
At an early age, Mae accepted Christ and followed the path of discipleship. She was educated in the Northampton County Public School System. As a young adult, Mae migrated north to Newark, New Jersey. She became employed by Topper Toys, where she met her life partner Roosevelt Knight, Jr.
Mae had many passions and interests. As an adult, she served as a Deaconess at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, in Newark, New Jersey, for several decades. After relocating to Weldon, North Carolina in 1998, she continued her commitment of service and became an active member of the Deaconess Board of St. Peters Missionary Baptist Church. She used her creative eye to adorn her home with beauty and style, inside and out. Her sense of fashion was evident in the unique and stunning hats that she could be seen wearing each Sunday at church.
On Thursday, February 10, 2022, the Angel of Peace visited Mae and whispered, “Peace Be Thine.” Mae accepted the call and entered eternal rest. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two sons, Morris Wayne Cotton and Eric Knight.
Cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts of those that she touched. She leaves behind: her beloved husband, Roosevelt Knight Jr; sons, Maso Cotton and Mabry Cotton (Michell); daughters, Shirley Turner (Patrick) and Joy Burnett; grandchildren, Harrun, Antonio, Termaine, Patrick, Sasha, Rha-shawn, Jaquan, Janay, Maya, Ania, Jewel, Jade and Ni-ray. Mae’s legacy can be seen in her grandchildren which she raised as her own, Takeera, Khia, Tarrell, Eric, and Kenyan. She showed them all unconditional love. They always had plates waiting on them and clothes ironed. She stayed up throughout the night until they made it home. She saw them off in the morning to work or school.  All they ever knew was their grandmother. They all have part of her in them. To Takeera she left her strength. Eric will now be the rock and the glue that keeps them together. To Khia she left her sense of fashion. Kenyan was her shadow. It’s scary he’s so much like her. Tarrell, her backbone will now be the caretaker of the house, as she always had him assisting her with projects in the yard and cleaning her mirrors throughout the house.
In addition, to her husband, children and grandchildren, Mae is lovingly survived by her sisters and brothers, Earline Joyner, Raymond Jordan, Jr., Lois Jean Jordan, Julia Flythe, Rebie Hansom, Clarence Michael Jordan and June Woodson (James); one aunt, Vivian F. Blount; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She will forever be loved and missed.

Cynthia Elaine Parker - May 06, 1962 - February 01, 2022

Departed: 02/01/2022 (Seaboard)
Obituary Preview: Cynthia Elaine Parker, began her journey through life on May 6, 1962 in Northampton County. She was born to the parentage of the late Ruben “Pete” James Bottoms and Annie Lois Parker Walker. Cynthia was a beautiful person, internally and externally, who possessed an unconditional love for her family and friends.
Cynthia was reared into the loving family and care of the late Ishmell and Reaver D. Powell. She accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and joined Allen Chapel AME Church in Conway, NC. Cynthia continued her spiritual walk through membership at First Baptist Church, Weldon, NC until she moved to Cary, NC. While in Cary, she joined Watts Chapel Missionary Baptist Church of Raleigh, NC and remained a faithful member until God called her home.
Cynthia attended Northampton County Public Schools. She furthered her education and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from Saint Augustine’s College in Organizational Management and Master’s degree from Cambridge College in Business Management. Cynthia had a contagious smile, love for people, and a passion for good cooking just like her mother-at-heart, Reaver D. Powell. Her love of cooking continued to develop and expand, thus, birthing “Cynsational” catering.
Cynthia worked as an administrative assistant for various businesses throughout her career. At the time of her passing, she was the executive administrative assistant for First Step Services, LLC in Cary, NC.
Cynthia Parker was initiated into the Phi Rho Zeta Chapter in Roanoke Rapids in the Spring of 2011. After moving to Cary, NC, she joined Sigma Rho Zeta. She had a special place in her heart for Zeta and lived the principles of the organization in her daily life. She embodied a thirst for clearer understanding of the organization and the business of Zeta as she completed several certifications including ZOL, and most recently participated in the North Carolina NAP cohort despite her illness. As the current Chaplain of the chapter, her kind words and sisterly corrections, inspiration, and charismatic presence is not only a loss to the Sigma Rho Zeta Chapter, but it is a tremendous loss to the Cary community.
Cynthia served the chapter for several years as the Community Liaison and was instrumental in bridging gaps between the Cary, NC community and the Sigma Rho Zeta Chapter with various organizations. Her personal and professional passion to feed those in need, prompted chapter partnerships with organizations like Dorcas Ministries Food Pantry and Read & Feed. In 2021, Cynthia Parker connected the Sigma Rho Zeta Chapter with the Cary Tree Archive, allowing the chapter to plant 5 memorial trees in honor of our Pearls.
On Tuesday, February 1, 2022; Cynthia Elaine Parker, at the age of 59, was set free when she answered the Master’s call of total healing and gained her heavenly wings. In addition to her parents, Cynthia was preceded in death by one sister, Theresa Parker and one nephew, Jamar Garrison. Obituary Preview: And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.  ~ Revelation 21: 3-4
Maryland Williams, son of the late Howard Williams, Sr. and the late Bettie Lillie Davis was born on Wednesday, August 24, 1932 in Northampton County, North Carolina.
‘Red’, as he was fondly known, was educated in the Northampton County School System. He later relocated to New York, where he lived for 41 years. While there, he worked at a local hospital and steel factory, from which he retired.
Prior to his declining health, ‘Red’ was a very active man. His hobbies included: fishing, bowling, watching baseball games, playing the lottery (Boot, come take me to the store to play my numbers); arts and crafts, where he would build bird houses, storage sheds, swings and bicycles. He also loved to eat - Chinese food was his favorite.
On Sunday, January 30, 2022, while in the care of Northampton Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Jackson, North Carolina, our dear loved one, peacefully transitioned from this earthly life to a land of peace of rest.
Your life was full of loving deeds, forever thoughtful of our special needs. Today and tomorrow, our whole life through, we will always love and cherish you. Treasured memories shall forever remain in the hearts of: his daughter, Rebecca Brenda Modni (Mohammed) of King Mountain, North Carolina; sister, Gladys Williams; caring nephew, James Davis both of Jackson, North Carolina; six grandchildren; fifteen greatgrandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
