Mrs. VanDyke was a retired Electronic Assembler for Kodak with over 12 years of service.
Preceded in death by 7 siblings Violet, Helen, Elmer, Betty, Donald, Richard and Evelyn, and by her son-in-law Steven Burton.
She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years Michael VanDyke, 2 daughters Teresa Baran and husband Andrew, and Pam Thompson, 5 grandchildren Alexis Messer, Kyle Baker, Asia Brooks and husband Wes, Dylan Thompson, and Cody Burton, 7 great grandchildren Matthew, Peyton “Michael”, McKenzie, Adalynn, Addisyn, Coen, Adam, Willow and Carson, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Mr. Carter honorably served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a former employee of Dayton Press with over 20 years of service, and a retired Bus Operator for RTA with over 25 years of service. Warren was a member of the American Legion Post # 598 in Kettering.
Preceded in death by his brother John Carter.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years Marjorie (Steinway) Carter, 6 sons Gregory Carter and wife Lee, Roderick Carter and wife Julie, Kendrick Carter and wife Angie, Bradford Carter, Richard Carter and wife Jordan, and Amadeus Carter, his brother Frank Carter and wife Carol, his sister Nadine Strother and husband Roger, 7 grandchildren Haley Paddock and husband Chad, Hannah Mohler and husband Jordan, Colton Carter, Lydia Carter, Jake Carter and wife Grace, Clay Carter and wife Abby, and Summer Breeze Carter, 6 great grandchildren Rylee, Cailin, Cameron and Khloe Paddock & Samantha and Sydney Mohler, “grand fur babies” Brutus & Goalie,  the mother of his 4 older sons Roma (Howell) Carter, friends Anthony Conners, Ricky Griffin and Kurt Harris, as well as numerous other family members and many friends.

Charles E. "Charlie" Chinn - August 10, 1941 - March 18, 2022

Obituary Preview: Chinn, Charles E. “Charlie”, age 80 of West Carrollton, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2022 at Kettering Health Main Campus. He was born on August 10, 1941 in Washington D.C., the son of the late John & Helen (McAllister) Chinn.
Mr. Chinn honorably served his country in the U.S Air Force from 1959-1964. He worked for Rike’s Tire Center in 1964-1965. Charles was a retired Fireman & EMT for both the City of Dayton (1965-1990), and the City of West Carrollton (1969-2009) with 47 years of combined service. He became a paramedic in 1972 for both Dayton & West Carrollton and became a Senior Supervisor in 1979 for the City of Dayton.  He was a EMT Coordinator for the Dayton Fire Dept from 1991-1997.  He taught EMS at the JVS (Miami Valley Career Technology Center), and Sinclair Community College for many years. Charlie was also an Inspector for the State of Ohio Ambulance Association.
Charlie attended the Community Harvest Church in Germantown. He was a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church in West Carrollton, the West Carrollton Lions Club, the Air Force Band where he played the tuba, EMS Council where he was the Treasurer & West Carrollton Fire Dept. Representative, H-12 International Club, Masonic Lodge #737 F & A.M., West Carrollton, O.E.S. #571, West Carrollton, York Rite, Dayton, Moraine Senior Citizens Center where he loved playing Euchre and Bingo, and he was instrumental in the implementation  for the planning of Sycamore Medical Center in Miamisburg; a member of the Red Cross where he taught CPR Classes, and he was also inducted into the West Carrollton Hall of Fame.
Preceded in death by a wife Dedra L. Chinn, his son Charles E. Chinn, Jr., granddaughter Heather Chinn, 2 sisters & brothers-in-law Gayle & Harold “Buddy” Thomas and Sue & Alan Barnes.
He is survived by his loving wife Joyce (Cramer) Dewey Chinn, his son Martin Chinn and wife Carol, his daughter Cherlyn Sanders-Grove and husband David Grove, step-daughter Robin Reidy and husband Rob, 6 grandchildren Brandon Sanders, Shane Sanders, Kyrie Ross, Rachel Ross, Sydney Reidy & Ethan Reidy, 3 great granddaughters Lylah Ross, Zoey Lewis & Ruby Lewis, best friend Jim Napper, as well as numerous other relatives and many, many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at the Swart Funeral Home, West Carrollton with Pastor Duane Harney officiating. Burial Evergreen Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the Combined Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home with Masonic Services at 6:45 p.m.

John Arthur "Johnny" "Pop" Raybern - Unknown - March 15, 2022

Obituary Preview: John “Johnny” “Pop” Arthur Raybern, age 84, passed away on March 15, 2022, at Chippenham Hospital in Richmond, Virginia. Johnny was born October 10, 1937, to Glen Roswell Raybern and Julia Mae Brown in Columbus, Ohio.
He joined the United States Airforce at the age of 18 and served his country from November 1955 to November 1961 as Load Master on Military Aircrafts. In January 2003 he was united in marriage to Eleanor Oleta Stone Dunn and instantly bestowed the nickname “Pop”.
Johnny enjoyed living life and spending time with his family. His hobbies included watching football, attending baseball games so he could eat hotdogs, and good nature bantering with anyone. Sappy movies, meaningful gifts, and The Star-Spangled banner would bring tears to his eyes as well as hugs from his family. Being in the company of children and visiting aviation museums would bring a smile to his face, and if you had an errand to run, he was racing for his shoes and walker to be able to go. Although our hearts are sad with his passing, we are left with wonderful memories and the peace of knowing he rests in the arms of God.
Johnny was preceded in death by his beloved wife Oleta Raybern; Parents Glen and Julia Raybern; Brothers Charles, Harold, Glen, and Larry Raybern; Sisters Betty Raybern, Beatrice Cox, and Mary Lawson.
He is survived by his children: Janet (Terry) Fox of Richmond, VA; June (Dave) Rothchild of Minot, ND; Judy (John) Sullivan of Springboro, Ohio; and Jerry (Delanna) Dunn of Springboro, Ohio; seven grandchildren, many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Military Honors conducted by the Combined Honor Guard will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at the First Freedom Baptist Church with Rev. Henry Watts, Jr., officiating, a Celebration of Life service will immediately follow the Military Services. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12 :00 p.m. (1 hour prior to the service) at the church on Saturday.

James J. Coyle - January 18, 1924 - March 13, 2022

Obituary Preview: James J. “Jim” Coyle, age 98 of Middletown, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at the Walnut Creek Campus. He was born on January 18, 1924 in Middletown, Ohio, the son of the late Robert & Mary Lucille (Deller) Coyle.
Mr. Coyle honorably served his country in the U.S. Army. Jim was a retired Press Operator for Middletown Journal with 30 years of service, and was a former employee of the Raymond Bag Co. He was a member of Holy Family Parish, Holy Trinity Chapel, in Middletown, and a lifetime member and Knight of the Knights of Columbus. Jim was a very caring and generous man. In his younger days, he was a volunteer fireman. He volunteered his services on building projects at Holy Trinity Church, for a least 15 years; and was also a volunteer at the former Middletown Regional Hospital and the Atrium Hospital for over 30 years. He was very proud that he worked out at the local gym until he was 95 years old. But the one thing he was most known for, by his family and friends was his beautiful paintings. He was truly and artist, and anyone that saw his pictures or were fortunate enough to have one hanging in there house, can attest to that.
Preceded in death by 4 brothers Bob, Tom, Dan, and Joe, 3 sisters Marie, Margy and Joan.
He is survived by his 3 loving sisters Geri Knierim, Toni Seidl and Susie Coyle, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

George cherished his family, a loving father, he treated all his children equally, wanting only for them to be happy. An adoring grandpa he found joy in every moment with his grandchildren.
He enjoyed keeping his hands busy doing puzzles, tinkering on anything, playing with his dogs and was always up for a good story. He never hesitated to help family, friend or a stranger. His love will follow us until we meet again.
