Obituary Preview: Orberie E. Giles, 80, of East Moline, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at his home.
Funeral services will be 12:00 pm Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at Sullivan-Ellis Mortuary, Ltd.,1902-3rd Avenue East Moline.  Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Moline.  Pastor P.W. Harris will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to services.  Memorials may be made to Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, East Moline.
Orberie Eugean Giles was born June 20, 1941 in Como, Mississippi; the only child of Andrew and Virgie (Dandridge) Giles.  Orberie was a 1960 graduate of United Township High School.  He married Claudia Mayfield, January 3, 1961 in Rock Island.  Orberie was hired by John Deere Harvester in 1965; a few years later he entered into their apprenticeship for maintenance mechanic.  Orberie retired after 42 years of service in 2007. He loved John Deere.  Orberie was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church and the UAW.  He loved bowling, playing sports; basketball, baseball, football, and golf.  Orberie was out going, a great provider, comical, very strong- willed person, and very detailed oriented.  Orberie also did concrete work and lawn care.  He loved his family dearly.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 61 years, Claudia Giles, East Moline, his daughters, Kimberly Kay Giles, East Moline, Da Lynne Renee Giles, East Moline, and Leda Jeanine Giles, East Moline, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, special aunt, Narcissia Ivey, Memphis TN, aunt, Helen Smith, Memphis, TN, host of cousins, special cousin, Kathleen Gardner, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his great grandson Jeremiah Martinez.

Burial will be at Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport.    Pastor Scott Culley will officiate. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 pm Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Bill was born March 10, 1943 in Danville, IL; the son of Russell Raymond and Ethel Mae (Harvey) Blair.  Bill attended Catlin High School, Catlin, IL.   Bill graduated from Worsham College of Mortuary Science, Chicago, IL.  He married Debra Smith and Margaret “Sue” Brickey. Bill later married Karen Sue Kramer April 25, 1995 in Springfield, IL.  He worked as a funeral director, last working for Runge Mortuary  Davenport, IA in 2018.  Bill was a licensed funeral director for more than fifty years.
Bill was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, Davenport.  He enjoyed gardening and landscaping.  Bill loved “his yard work”.  He enjoyed woodworking.  Bill made doll furniture for the neighborhood girls.  He was proud of the Adirondack chair he had built.  Bill had a special place in his heart for his grandchildren.

Timmothy Joseph Rexroth was born November 17, 1961 in Moline, Illinois; the son of Kenneth and Mary Jo ( Larvenz) Rexroth.  He attended Prophetstown High School.  Timmothy worked as a parts manager for McLaughlin Body Co,. last working in 2002.
Timmothy’s biggest passion was collecting vinyl albums and NASCAR racing.  He also enjoyed playing racing video games.  Timmothy had a special place in his heart for his cat of twenty years, Boscar.
Those left to cherish his memory are his father, Kenneth Rexroth, Moline, his sister, Deana Rexroth, Moline, his nephew, Shon Rexroth, Moline, a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Virginia Ann Giesenhagen was born February 8, 1936 in Moline, Illinois; the daughter of Charles Giesenhagen and Helen (Wilkinson) Koontz.  She was a 1954 graduate of United Township High School.  Virginia married Laurence “Bud” Wangelin in 1969 in New London, WIS. He passed October 23, 1999.  She was a homemaker.
Virginia was a member of the Green Rock Free Will Baptist Church, Colona.  She was an election judge for over 20 years.  Virginia enjoyed crocheting, shopping, and traveling in their motor home.  She was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and Chicago Cubs fan.  Most of all, she loved her time spent with her beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Faith enjoyed going to the movies, shopping and pampering herself with manicures and pedicures.  She loved spending time with her mother.

Jackie was born on April 30, 1945, in Alton, IL to the late Rev. Richard D. Smith, Sr. and Reatha L. (Webster) Smith. She attended Alton High School, Alton, IL and Drake University, Des Moines, IA. Jackie was united in marriage to Paul J. Deering and from this union came a beautiful daughter, Michelle “Shelley” D. Deering. She retired after serving 26 years at the East Moline Police Department. Jackie enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and watching sports. She was an active member of Gaines Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church in East Moline, IL where she served in many capacities.
She leaves to celebrate her life her mother, Reatha L. (Webster) Smith, East Moline, IL; daughter, Michelle “Shelley” Deering, Reseda, CA; special son, Leon (Janet) Owens, Paducah, KY; sisters, Ileta F. Laura was a resident of Streed Tower, East Moline, for over twenty-five years. Laura was a quiet, private person.  She enjoyed puzzle books and watching her favorite TV programs.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son and his wife, Eddie and Vanessa Huskey, Jefferson City, MO, her daughter and her husband, Lisa and Michael Morris, Auxvasse, MO. nine grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.

He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Dallas Cowboys fan.  A big joy in his life was dressing in nice clothes and his favorite cologne.  Daniel enjoyed hanging out with his family and friends.

Mary was a member of Cross Roads Church, Moline, Illinois.  In her younger years she enjoyed vegetable gardening and canning.  “In her day” she was a great dancer.  Mary was an avid quilter; she enjoyed making quilts for her entire family.  Crafting was also a joy to her.  Mary loved her family and her church family.

Sharonda Lynn “Ronnie” Jackson, beloved mother, daughter, and sister passed away suddenly on Dec. 19th, 2021 in St. Paul, MN where she resided, age 52.
Born on May 1st, 1969 to Margaret Diana Taite and Ernest Jackson Jr at Moline Public Hospital.  Sharonda was raised in Geneseo and graduated from Geneseo High in 1987.  She worked as a Medical Assistant at Genesis Health Group after successfully attending Hamilton Technical College and later began working for herself as an in-home medical care specialist.
A beautiful, kind hearted woman who will always be remembered for her big smile and spontaneity.  Her bravery and curiosity took her many places and allowed her to meet so many wonderful people along the way.  To know her was to become family.  A fighter until the end, she will be missed dearly.
Sharonda leaves behind her three daughters Charise, Sharnette, and Shantel Jackson, her father, Ernest Jackson Jr.; her grandbabies, Deamonte and Kalia Jackson, her sister, Ashley Jackson, and her brothers, Anthony Jordan, Tyrone, Jermane, and Andre Jackson.
She will be welcomed in Heaven by her Mother Margret Diana Taite.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 29, 2021 at Hampton Township Cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to services at Sullivan-Ellis Mortuary, 1902-3rd Avenue East Moline.  Rev. Kenneth Porter will officiate.

Lisa Joelyn Cochran was born was born February 5, 1968 in Davenport, Iowa: the daughter of Virgil and Betty (McDaniel) Cochran.  Lisa was a 1986 graduate of UTHS, East Moline, IL. She worked for Jewel-Osco, Silvis for 20 years.  She loved cats, anything purple, and everything Mary Engelbreit.  Over the years Lisa attended meetings at several local congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses.  She made many friends during that time of whom she was very fond.

Tony enjoyed working on cars. He loved fishing and mushroom hunting. Tony enjoyed going on rides with his dogs and motorcycle rides. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Tony loved his Fourth of July BBQ’s.

Sharron Yvone Dunbar was born March 4, 1953 at Brookport, Illinois: the daughter of Clarence Henry and Francis Elizabeth (Williams) Dunbar.  She was educated in the Brookport, Illinois area.  Sharron married Harmon Tingle February 24, 1996 in Rock Island.  He passed March 4, 2009.  She was a homemaker.  She enjoyed taking care of children and spending time with family.  Sharron was an excellent cook and baker.  She was known for her corn bread, sweet potato pie, blackberry and peach cobbler.  Sharron was a long-time member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, East Moline.

Lionel Donald Boisvert was born January 7, 1931 in Peace Dale, Rhode Island; the son of Andrew and Marie (Roy) Boisvert.  Lionel Joined the US Army at the age of 17 on January 7, 1948.  He married his soul mate, Ruby Hayes on Oct. 19, 1951 in Springfield, Tennessee. She passed August 23, 2020. He served his country for the next 24 years, retiring with the rank of E8 First Sargent.  Lionel was in the Korean War with 187th Regimental Combat Team where they parachuted behind enemy lines.  He served in Vietnam from 1968-1969.   He retired from the US Army November 1, 1970.  Lionel then went to college where he obtained an associate degree in accounting.  He then worked for John Deere & Co, retiring with 17 years of service in 1990.  Lionel was of the Catholic faith.

Cam married Roscoe L. Dale on March 21, 1947 in Moline.  Together, they had five children.  Roscoe passed December 25, 1979.  Cam worked as a cook at a nursing home, last working in 1993.  She enjoyed crossword puzzles.  Cam loved being mom to her five children.  Her faith in the Lord was first, foremost, and always.
She is survived by her loving sons, Jeffrey (Laura) Dale, East Moline, Brian (Charlene), East Moline, and Timothy Dale, Mexia, Texas, nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, her sisters, Estelee Adams, Tennessee, and “Little Sis” Patsy (Ted) Swanson, East Moline, and many nieces and nephews.

Jannie Mae Walker was born on Christmas day, 1924 in Faunsdale, Alabama; the daughter of Sally (Woods) and Daniel Walker.  As a young girl, Jannie, her baby sister, and her mother were in a tornado.  Her mother was hospitalized for a long period of time so Jannie worked in the fields. Jannie was educated in Alabama. She moved to the Quad Cities in 1950 where she worked for the East Moline State Hospital.  She later worked for the Rock Island Produce Co. last working in the 1980’s.  Jannie married Samuel Simmons. He passed  April 28, 1984.  She was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, East Moline for 51 years.  She has helped at the church in many roles such as usher and head of the kitchen.  Jannie enjoyed playing bingo and worshipping at her church.  She was a big fan of the old westerns; “Bonanza, Gunsmoke, Lone Ranger, and Rifleman.”

Cummings April 4, 1952 in Rock Island, Illinois.  He passed January 20, 2009.  Juanita loved her church, Gaines Chapel.  She was a choir member, missionary, volunteer, and member of wellness committee.  Juanita became deaconess in 2013.  She was also a founding member of Watertown Neighborhood Watch.  She will be remembered for her fun-loving nature and her enjoyment of life.  There were no strangers in her life; every Saturday was a talk session at the grocery store!  Juanita was a head-strong, God-fearing women.  She instilled her faith in her children.

Danny O’Neil Staton was born July 16, 1950 in Clarendon, Arkansas; the son of James Stayton and Elnora Clark.  Danny was raised by Rayfield Cunningham and Elnora Clark.  He was a graduate of Rock Island High School, Class of 1968, where he participated in Track and Field.   Danny attended St. Ambrose University, Davenport, graduating with a degree in business and economics.  Danny worked at John Deere Harvester, East Moline, as a crane operator, last working October, 1997. During his time at Deere, he was a civil rights director. Danny married Nancy Wilson, June 17, 2016 in Rock Island.  He loved to gamble and attend horse racing at the Quad City Downs.  At the Downs, Danny made many great friendships.  He loved to cook and grill in very large amounts!  Danny loved his time with his children and grandchildren.
