Obituary Preview: Maria Curreli, 64, a lifelong resident of Shenandoah, passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening, April 23, 2024 in Allentown.
Maria was born in Shenandoah on  July 15, 1959, a daughter of the late Dorothy (Lebby) Curreli and Salvadore "Sammy" Curreli of Shenandoah.
She was educated in local schools and was employed by Jeld Wen in Ringtown, and later by the Shenandoah Valley School District, first as a teachers aide, then retiring as a culinary assistant in the cafeteria.
Maria was preceded in death by her grandfather, Giovanni B. Curreli, grandmother Antoinette Curreli, uncle Carmen Curreli, uncle Mario C. Curreli, Sr., mother, Dorothy (Lebby) Curreli, husband Anthony "Bimbo" Anuscavage and her son, Robert "Bobby" Anuscavage.
Surviving is her father, Salvadore "Sammy" Curreli and her cousin Mario C. Curreli.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at 11 AM at the Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, 412 West Main Street, Ringtown, with Rev. Craig Zimmerman officiating.  Relatives and friends are invited to a time of visitation from 9 AM until 11 AM prior to the service at the funeral home. Obituary Preview: Andrew Raddie, age 90, of Crownsville, MD passed away at his daughter’s home on Tuesday, October 6, 2020.
Andrew was born on November 29, 1929, in Shenandoah, PA a son of the late Andrew J. and Julia (Smetana) Raddie.
He proudly served in the United States Air Force for over 20 years – serving in both the Korean and Vietnam wars. After retiring as a Master Sargent from the Air Force, Andy worked in fleet management for both Smelkinson Foods and Waste Management.
Andy was a member of the American Legion for over 50 years and an active board member of American Legion Post 7, Crownsville, MD.
A loving and loyal husband, father, brother and friend and will be missed by all who knew him.
Andy is survived by his children, Andrew of Las Vegas, Beth Pena of Crownsville, stepchildren Gene Turner of Seaford, DE and Karen Turner of Snow Hill, NC as well as 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Also surviving are  his sisters, Jean Pryzbylkowski (Al) of Lancaster, PA and Marie Boehmer of Cinnaminson, NJ.
Andy was preceded in death by his first wife, Phyllis H. Mernagh (1975); his second wife, Nancy Walston Turner (2013) and his grandson, Justin P. Raddie (2011).
After his death in 2020, Andrew lost his son, Stephen M. Raddie and Stephen’s wife, De, and son-in-law, Martin C. Pena.

Steve was born on June 16, 1955 in Hempstead, NY, a son of the late Andrew and Phyllis Helene (Mernagh) Raddie.
He worked as a union master electrician and retired from IBEW Local 26 in Washington, DC and he was a member of the American Legion Post 18 and Moose Lodge in Cameron, WV.
Steve was preceded in death by his wife, De (2021) and son, Justin P. Raddie (2011).
Surviving are his children, Stephen of Leesburg, VA, Matthew of Tucson, AZ, Stephanie Glandon (Micah) of Killeen, TX and Jesse of Clarksville, TN, along with 6 grandchildren .  His sister, Beth Pena of Crownsville, MD and his brother, Andrew of Las Vegas, NV also survive.

Obituary Preview: Tara Jo Bullock, 41, a resident of St. Clair, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Sunday, March 24th, 2024.
Tara Jo was born in Naples, Florida on August 12, 1982.  She was a graduate of the East Stoudsburg Area High School, and was last employed as a claims representative in the insurance industry.
She enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, hiking and camping with her family, and attended the LCBC church in Hazleton.
Tara Jo was preceded in death by a sister, Lashawna Howell in June of 2022.
Surviving are her husband, Jay Bullock of St. Clair and children, Kaleb Ortiz of East Stroudsburg; Abby Bullock and Chance Bullock, both of St. Clair, and Anna Marie Bullock of York, along with a granddaughter, Bailey Marie Ott.
She is also survived by her mother and father, Roger and Patricia Ashcraft of Mt. Pocono; a brother Zachariah Howell and a sister Danielle Walker, both of Ohio.
A celebration of life service honoring Tara Jo will be held later this year, and will be announced by her family.

Robert W. Smart - August 19, 1941 - March 10, 2024

Obituary Preview: Robert W. Smart, III, 82, a resident of the Cove Village in Zion Grove, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre.
Robert was born in Queens, New York on August 19, 1941, a son of the late Robert and Charlotte (Myers) Smart.
After high school he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving both active duty and reserves.  He then began a lifelong career as a police officer, working in several different divisions of the New York City Police Department.  He retired from the NYPD in 1990 and then moved to the local area, to enjoy the quiet country life.
A true Irish decendant, Robert enjoyed playing his bagpipes, as well as spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Donna Lynn (Liantonio) Smart, three stepsons, Ruben Cancio, Arthur Cancio and Dominick Cancio, along with three sons.
A brother, John 'Jack' Smart survives, as do three grandchildren, Dominic Kadziela, Lucca Walters and Cadence Cancio.
Robert will be laid to rest at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, following a brief service and military honors on Friday, March 22, 2024 at 10:30 AM.

Leroy Mourer - August 09, 1944 - March 01, 2024

Obituary Preview: Leroy Mourer, 79, a resident of Ringtown, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 1, 2024.
Leroy was born on August 9, 1944, a son on the late Lee and Dolores (Sherman) Mourer.
An avid outdoors person, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, along with spending time with his family.
Leroy was retired from the Tyco Plastics in Ringtown, having been a long time employee for the company since its inception as Yankee Plastics, then Mr. Hanger, A&E Products and finally Tyco.  He also recently worked for the Union Township Road Crew.
In addition to his parents, Leroy was preceded in death by his sister, Phylis Deebel.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Diane (Matsko) Mourer, and thier children, David, Leroy and Ellen, and by his granddaughter, Rena.
His brother Lee and his sister Faye Recla also survive.   As per Leroys wishes, no public services will be held.

Obituary Preview: Virginia Neiswender, 93, a former resident of the Brandonville and Ringtown area, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 29, 2024 in Shenandoah, where she had recently resided.
Virginia was born in Ringtown on October 31, 1930, a daughter of the late William and Blanche (Dresher) Zimmerman.  She worked in the local garment industry and was a member of the Ringtown Senior Citizens and St. John's Lutheran Church, where she was active in the ladies aid and a former member of church council.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Neiswender in 1993, a son, William Neiswender in 1983 and by her brothers, William, Robert, Thomas and Donald Zimmerman.  She is survived by a sister, Frances Zimmerman of North Wales, PA, along with nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Friday, February 2nd, 2024 at St. John's Lutheran Church, West Main Street, Ringtown.  Everyone is asked to meet at the church for the 11 AM service.  Virginia will be laid to rest at the Brandovnille Union Cemetery, immediately following the service. Doris was born in Zion Grove on March 4, 1933, a daughter of the late Ralph and Matilda (Lutz) Davis.
A lifelong homemaker, Doris enjoyed crocheting, gardening and mowing her lawn.  Doris was a member of Saint Peter's 'Hargers' Union Church of Christ, and was active helping at various functions.  She also enjoyed helping make the candy Easter eggs for the Davis Chapel fundraiser.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, William Longenberger, her son, Terry Longenberger, and by her siblings, Paul Davis and Mae Crouse.
Doris is survived by her daughter, Cindy, wife of David Cymbala and her special grandchildren, Alicia, Adam, Mike, Rachel, along with Kristie, TJ and Josh.  She is also survived by her special great grandson, Brexton, along with Laura, Sophia and Jack. Mildred 'Millie' Klem - May 24, 1940 - January 01, 2024

Obituary Preview: Mildred "Millie' Klem, 83, a resident of Old Bridge New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, January 1, 2024.
Millie was born and raised in Frackville, a daughter of the late Clem and Helen (Careyva) Kosmisky.  After high school, she relocated to the New Jersey area along with her husband Peter, where they have resided since.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers Joseph and Robert.
Millie is survived by her husband of 60 year, Peter Klem of Old Bridge, NJ; and two sisters, Ruth Murphy of New Jersey and Theresa Horas of Frackville, along with nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 8th at 10 AM at the St. Joseph the Worker Church, 49 North Line Street, Frackville.  Relatives and friends are invited to a visitiation from 9:15 AM until the time of the service at the church.
Millie will be laid to rest at the Annunciation Cemetery, Frackvill during private family services.

William "Bucky" Sherman - November 25, 1946 - December 29, 2023

Bucky was born on November 25, 1947, a son of the late William and Emma (Shoup) Sherman. He was a graduate of the West Hazleton high school, and was retired, having been last employed as a long time welder for the former Pine Grove Homes.
Bucky enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and picking mushrooms. He was a member of the Shenandoah Fish and Game Club.
In addition to his parents, Bucky was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Sherman in 1995.
He is survived by two sons, Timothy and Bryan, both of Zion Grove, a granddaughter, Nicole Sherman, and two great grandchildren, James and Hunter. A sister, Judith (Judy) Herman of Quakertown also survives along with nieces and nephews.
A Graveside funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Zion Grove. Relatives and friends are asked to meet at the cemtery prior to the service. The Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home is assisting Bucky's family during this time of need.

William Bradley - March 01, 1941 - December 26, 2023

Obituary Preview: William B. Bradley, 82, a resident of Sheppton, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, December 26th, 2023.
William was born in West Hazleton on March 1, 1941, the son of the late James and Marie (Lodderhose) Bradley. After graduating high school, William honorably served his country in the United States Army. He then embarked on his career, retiring after many years in Sales.
In earlier years, he was very athletic and enjoyed weightlifting and swimming. After being diagnosed with Parkinsons', he remained positive and continued to stay active with rock-steady boxing and various therapies. Throughout his life he enjoyed traveling, trips to the beach, working on cars, and helping his children with projects around the house. He was also a devoted fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and could often be found cheering them on with his family and friends. William will be remembered for his warm heart, his sense of humor, and his unwavering love for his family. His passing is a great loss to his friends, family, and community.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Robert. He was a member of St, Joseph's Church in Sheppton where he found comfort and solace in difficult times.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Marie Joyce (Antonelli) Bradley, and their children, a daughter, Justine, wife of Keith Holton of Exton Pa, a son, William Bradley and his wife Eleanor of Zion Grove Pa, and four grandchildren, whom he enjoyed spending time with, Zachary, Ava, Matt and Fred. A brother, Richard Bradley of West Hazleton also survives along with nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 5th, 2023 at 11 AM in St. Joseph's Church, Sheppton. A time for visitation will be held from 10-11 AM in the church prior to the time of Mass. William will be laid to rest at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Sheppton with military honors immediately following the Mass.

Joseph Careyva - Unknown - December 25, 2023

Obituary Preview: Joseph Careyva was born on February 2, 1958 and peacefully passed away on December 25, 2023 at Geisinger Medical Center.  He is the son of Anne and Joseph Careyva of Phineyville, PA.  He is preceded in death by his son Nicholas, sister Rosemarie, and father Joseph.
He is survived by his children, Beth and Mark with respective spouses Benjamin Bard and Amanda Brown, and his grandchildren, Ava Bard and Anna Careyva.  He is also survived by his siblings and their spouses Edward (Jill), Joann (Rick), Thomas (Oleysia), Scott (Renee), brother-in-law John, and many nieces and nephews.
His legacy of a love of farming and being outdoors lives on through his children, grandchildren, and all who knew him.  Those who knew him best will remember his love of family and enthusiasm for the harvest.  May he rest in eternal peace.
The funeral service to celebrate his life will be held on January 12, 2024 at St. Joseph’s Church in Sheppton with visitation hour at 10 am followed by mass at 11 am.  Following mass, there will be a private burial service for family.   The Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home is honored to assist Joseph's family during this time of need.

Charles 'Chuck' Lindenmuth - July 05, 1971 - December 09, 2023

Chuck is survived by his loving parents, Francis and Nancy Lindenmuth; his daughters, Tiffani (Robert) Hancock and Charli Lindenmuth; his brothers, Bryan Lindenmuth and Keith (Melissa) Lindenmuth; his sisters, Penny (James) Kulenguskey and Nicole (William) Miller; his grandchildren, Caidyn, Ethan, Asher and Everleigh and his loyal dog, Fang.
Chuck was born on July, 5th 1971 in Ashland, PA. He graduated from North Schuylkill High School in 1989, and served in the Army as an infantry man in the 101st Air Borne, earning the Good Conduct Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Sharpshooter Badge M-16 Rifle, Sharpshooter Badge Hand Grenade, Army Lapel Button, National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Parachute Badge, Air Assault Badge, and the Saudi Arabia Kuwait Liberation Medal.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial service at 1:30 PM on Friday, December 15th at the Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, 412 West Main Street, Ringtown.  Visitation with Chuck's family will be held from 11:30 AM-1:30 PM.  Chuck will be laid to rest during private interment services at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

Obituary Preview: Anita L. Widitz, 85, of Northampton, PA, formerly of Oneida, PA, died December 7, 2023 at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest. She was the wife of the late Donald A. Widitz for 39 years prior to his death in 1998. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Letitia (Johnson) Lenz, Sr. She was a 1955 graduate of Lower Moreland High School in Montgomery County. She worked at Nabisco in Philadelphia where she met her future husband and then for many years in the garment industry in Sheppton, Nuremburg and Frackville. She was last employed at the former Dial Corporation in Hazleton, retiring in 2000. She was a long-time member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic church in Sheppton. She is survived by a son, Ronald Widitz of Oneida; two daughters, Karen Jenkins of Coaldale and Cindy, wife of Karl Swankoski of Northampton; two sisters, Evelyn Groves of Warminster and Connie, wife of Edward Tolon of Trevose; two sisters-in-law, Anita Lenz of Hazleton and Elizabeth Widitz of Ringtown; six nephews, seven nieces and life-long friend Marilyn Burk and her family. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Donald J. Widitz; two brothers, Herbert Lenz, Jr. and Michael Lenz; son-in-law David Jenkins; brothers-in-law Joseph Groves, Joseph Widitz, and John Widitz; sisters-in-law Eleanor Lenz and Rita Widitz, a nephew, and dear friend, Ken Burk, husband of Marilyn. Obituary Preview: John E. Rumbel, a well known resident of Ringtown, passed away peacefully at home on November 23,2023, at the age of 69.
Born in the former Locust Mountain Hospital, Shenandoah, John was the son of the late Charles and Elsie (Trexler) Rumbel. His roots in the local community were deep, and he leaves behind a legacy that will be fondly remembered by those who knew him. John was a life long self-employed farmer who worked the land with passion and dedication. He operated Rumbel's Roadside Stand for many years with his family, where he became well-known for his exceptional apple cider. Best known to his friends as Henry, John often said he never worked a day in his life because he loved what he did. John, being community minded, was always available to plow snow for Union Township and collect Christmas trees for the Ringtown boy scouts. John enjoyed driving tractor trailer and hauling christmas trees for sale; another passion he passed along to his son. After his retirement, he could be found enjoying the farm with his grandchildren on the golf cart. He enjoyed having coffee and adventuring with his pal Michael Kravetz.
A dedicated member of the Aurand Memorial United Church of Christ in Ringtown, his unwavering commitment to his faith was evident through over 50 years of perfect Sunday School attendance. During his younger days, John was a member of the church bowling league, a member of the Ringtown Fire Company, and active in the forestry.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Charles A Rumbel, and by his sister and brother in-law Catherine and Roger Shoup.
John is survived by his loving wife, Michelle (Fetterolf)Rumbel, along with his children, Myles John Rumbel, John David Rumbel, Rebecca Letta (Rumbel) Hoffman and Emily Rose Rumbel.
He leaves behind his beloved grandchildren to cherish his memory, Noah Rumbel, Noel Rumbel, Raegan Rumbel, Ridge Rumbel, Johanna Hoffman and Tucker Hoffman, along with his sister, Esther Mastauskas and nieces and nephews.
A Funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 30th at 11 AM in the Aurand Memorial United Methodist Church on Main Street in Ringtown. Relatives are friends are invited to attend a viewing on Wednesday, November 29th, from 5-9 PM at the Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, 412 West Main Street, Ringtown, and again on Thursday morning from 10 AM until the time of the service at the church. Born on May 26, 1944, in Warsaw, Poland, Joe Kakol was the son of the Bolslaw Kakol and Krystyna Kakol, of Orwigsburg. From the bustling streets of Brooklyn, New York, where Joe grew up, to the quiet charm of Ringtown, Joe embraced life with a resilient spirit and unwavering determination.
A true New Yorker at heart, Joe Kakol held a special place for his hometown sports teams, passionately cheering for the Jets and Mets. However, his loyalty knew no bounds when it came to football, as he supported the Green Bay Packers.
Joe was retired, having last worked locally at Jeld-Wen in RIngtown.  When not working, Joe enjoyed honing his mechanical skills, working on cars.
He leaves behind his wife, Patrice Kakol, with whom he shared countless joys and weathered life's storms. His sons, Joseph and Patrick, and his daughter, Krystyna, along with their children, his beloved grandchildren also survive. Obituary Preview: Joseph A. Ziolko, 89, a resident of Brandonville, passed away on October 29th, 2023.
Joseph was born in Zion Grove on July 12, 1934, a son of the late Joseph and Frances (Markosky) Ziolko.  He was a life long heavy equipment mechanic, having retired from Kaminski Brothers Construction in Pittston.
In his younger years, he and his siblings had a polka band, the Ziolko Brothers Orchestra, in which he played the trumpet.  His love of music lasted a lifetime, as he enjoyed dancing and country music, inspiring many trips with his wife to Branson.  A member of the Sheppton American Legion Post, and the former Citizens Fire Company in Brandonville, Joe played in the finger leagues and was a dart shooter.  Throughout his lifetime, he was passionate about training his German shepherds.
More recently, Joe enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank, Anthony and Edward Ziolko.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ruth (Sands) Zioko, and his two daughters, Lorrie, wife of Brian Deffley and Kimberly Jo, wife of Mario Curreli.  Four grandchildren, Erin Plaksa, Kirstyn Kankowski, Connor Deffley and Joseph Kankowski, along with two great grandchildren, Anthony and Alexander Plaksa survive.
A brother Robert Ziolko and a sister Frances Brestowski also survive along with nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Friday, November 3rd, 2023 at 11 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church, Park Avenue, Brandonville.  A time for visitation will be held from 10-11 AM, and Joe will laid to rest immediately following the service at the Brandonville Union Cemetery.

Born in Passaic, NJ, on October 4, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Kakaley) Houser.
She helped her husband at the family business OA Beninsky Raw Furs and Live Bait, Ringtown.
She was a longtime active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Ringtown. She was always active in the church, community and with her family.
Surviving are her loving husband of 59 years, Oscar A., two loving daughters, Cheryl Stefanowicz and Kristen Dubesky, a loving son, Anthony “Tony” Beninsky, grandchildren,  Erik Beninsky, Samantha Shoup, Julian Dubesky, Melody Dubesky, Valerie Dubesky, several nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday from 5:00 PM to 7:00PM at Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, 412 W. Main Street, Ringtown.  A service will be held at 7:00 PM with Pastor Craig Zimmerman officiating.

Kaitlyn was born January 28th, 1989 a daughter of the late Kim Krash-Szymanski and the late Michael C. Flail Jr.
In addition to her mother and father she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents William and Donna Krash and her paternal grandparents John and Barbara Day.
She was a graduate of Shenandoah Valley Jr-Sr high School and later attended Alvernia College.
She was last employed by several local establishments as a bartender.
She is survived by a half sister Michelle Hall, an aunt Sheila Rooney, cousins Robert Krash and Kristen Krash and her late mothers husband John Szymanski.
Kaitlyn had a heart of gold and always put others in front of herself. She adored her lifelong friendships, children, music and animals. She also loved reading books especially Harry Potter. She will be missed terribly. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be mailed to the Shenandoah Public Library in Kaitlyn's honor. 19 W. Washington St. Shenandoah, Pa 17976

Kerry was a graduate of West Hazleton High School and went on to dedicated himself to his work as a journeyman press operator, with his most recent employment at Forbo Flooring Systems. Prior to that, he worked for over 25 years as a press operator and supervisor for the Bemis Corporation.
Beyond his work, Kerry was a man of diverse talents and interests. He had a strong passion for music and was a gifted organist who also played the saxophone.  Kerry was also an avid reader, and his love for literature was evident to those who knew him. He enjoyed hunting and time spent in the great outdoors.
Kerry was preceded in death by his father, Carl H. Rittenhouse. He is survived by his mother, Shelby Rittenhouse of Nuremberg, his sister, Kelly Treko of Sheppton, his niece, Sarah Feeko, and nephew, Eric Feeko, along with many other family members and close friends.
Kerry's departure leaves a void in the lives of those who knew him, but his memory and the impact he had on the lives of others will live on in their hearts.  Happy Birthday in Heaven Kerry. Obituary Preview: Faye Edna Smick passed away into God's loving arms on Thursday, October 12th, 2023 at the age of 83.
She was born June 24th, 1940, on her family farm in Mainville, a daughter of Clifford and Geneva (Fisher) Parr.
Faye resided in Zion Grove with her beloved husband David William Smick, who passed away in December of 2017. They were married since October 10, 1959, and had one son Dave Allen Smick, wife of Janet Smick of Zion Grove.
She has one granddaughter Kimberly Faye (Smick) Jones wife of Raymond J Jones.
Faye was blessed with two great grandchildren Olivia and Trevor and two step great grandchildren, Crystal (York) Laubach and Bryan Snyder.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bob, and Ralph and is survived by a brother Fred.
Faye worked as a waitress for over 20 years at the Bloomsburg Elks club. She often joked that her hearing loss was from listening to the big bands play while she worked. She loved her family and her church, the Davis Chapel. She enjoyed gardening and planting large flower beds. In her younger years she enjoyed camping with her husband and son in the back of an International Scout. Faye and her granddaughter enjoyed traveling and had lots of adventures traveling to various states, she was her granddaughter's best friend.   Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Service which will be held on Thursday evening, October 19th at 7:30 PM at the Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, 412 West Main Street, Ringtown.  Visitation with Faye's family will be from 5 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Louis is survived by his wife, Linda (Vidito) FIsher.  He is also survived by a brother, David, and sisters, Virginia Rupert, Evelyn Hess, Lucielle Ruckle and Joan Davis.
In accordance with his wishes, a private memorial service will be held by his family at a later date.

Obituary Preview: Eileen Teter, of Zion Grove, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2023, at the age of 76. She was born on January 28, 1947, in Ringtown, a daughter of the late John and LaRue (Hart) Ambrose.
Eileen's journey through life was marked by meaningful moments and dedicated service. She graduated from the former Ringtown High School in 1964, embarking on a path that would lead to a fulfilling career as a teller at the M&T Bank's Ringtown Branch office, where she worked for over 18 years until her retirement.
Eileen was a woman of faith and a cherished member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Ringtown. She was an active member of the Ladies Aid group and a former member of the church council.
She was a member of the Ringtown Senior Citizens, and her interests ranged from reading to crocheting and sewing. Eileen was known for her love of card games and had a particular fondness for watching "Jeopardy", which became a shared family tradition.
Eileen's life was not without its share of challenges, but she faced them with strength and resilience. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald, in 1999, as well as her two granddaughters, Kirby's daughters -Amber and Cassandra, and her sister, Diane Primrose.
Eileen's memory will forever be cherished by her surviving children: Kyle and his wife Daria of Sinking Spring; Jody "Schroeder" of Zion Grove; Kirby and his wife Janet of Shenandoah Heights; Georgine, wife of Edward Miley of Leesport; and Travis and his wife Mandy of Ringtown. Her legacy lives on through her nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and the anticipation of another great-grandchild.
Eileen is also survived by her sister, Janice Wasser, and two brothers, William Ambrose and John "Bugsy" Ambrose, as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A viewing will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 12th at St. John's Lutheran Church, located on West Main Street in Ringtown. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Craig Zimmerman, will begin at 11:00 AM. Eileen will be laid to rest next to her husband Donald at the Mt. Zion Cemetery following the service.
