She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth ‘Janie’ Lewis and Debra Jones; brother, Roger Trantham; sister, Ann Trantham; nieces, Angela Reece and Linda Wells; nephews, Shane Trantham and David Wells; granddaughter, Amelia Jones; special friend, Jerry Green; and numerous other family and friends.
Jean enjoyed gardening, canning and cooking for her family. She loved the outdoors, camping often at Bear Lake.

She was born in 1919 to George Ivey Beale and Loretta McPherson Beale in Snow Camp, NC. After growing up in Snow Camp, Betty married Karl Rickert Benson, Sr. in 1937 and they had 37 wonderful years together. They raised their two children in Burlington, NC and then later in Concord, NC where Karl passed away in 1974. Betty married Rev. Worth Alfred Sweet, Sr. in 1994 and lived in Concord and Charlotte until Worth passed away in 2010. Betty then moved to Asheville where she lived until her passing.
In addition to her parents, her first husband, and her second husband, Betty is preceded in death by her four siblings, daughter-in-law May Merritt Benson, and sons-in-law Milton Davis Hall and William Bruce Pickens. She is survived by her daughter Loretta Benson Peterson (Bruce); her son Karl Rickert Benson, Jr.; grandchildren Janet Benson Forville (Bret), Merritt Benson Ulman (Patrick), Davis Riff Hall (Corrine), Edwin Benson Hall; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; her stepsons Worth Alfred Sweet, Jr. (Bricca) and Edward Falasque Sweet (Eileen); and other beloved members of the Beale, Benson and Sweet families.
Always upbeat and a renowned prayer warrior, Betty had a positive impact on everyone she met and will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Lee spent many years working in the family business at Cedar Lane Feed and Seed and then moved to NC in 2019 to help his uncle Bob Williams and cousin Karen Collis with their family business.
He was an active member of the Seventh Day Baptist Church in Shiloh, NJ. His interests included traveling and collecting, knitting and reading. Just to mention a few.
Lee is survived by his parents, Raymond and Joan Brooks; sister, Dawn Brooks (Jonathan / Nathan); various uncles, aunts and cousins; and dear friend Kim Hatherlee.
He was preceded in death by his husband, George C. Pettit. And grandparents, Raymond and Pearl Brooks, George and Edith Fithian.
