The daughter of the late Everett and Pearl (Woodward) Brune, Norma was born in Taunton on June 21st, 1933, and grew up in Raynham where she was educated and enjoyed a wonderful childhood.
She was the beloved wife of the late Franklin D. Longo, her high-school sweetheart, who pre-deceased her in December of 2017.  At the time of his passing, they were weeks away from celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary.
Norma was an elegant, kind, gentle woman with a sweet and loving nature who lived every minute of her life with quiet dignity and grace, always putting her family and others before herself.
She and Frank always made sure that holidays at their home were wonderful and special for their children and grandchildren.  Well into their early eighties, they cooked so many delicious dishes and decorated so beautifully, especially at Christmas, that even as adults, we all still felt a child's wonderment upon walking into their home for family celebrations.
Norma relished being a wife, mother, and grandmother; her grandchildren brought her much joy and she loved attending all of their school activities, and dance and music recitals.
She loved music, the ocean, trips to Vermont with her family, summers at Mattapoisett and going sailing with her father Everett.

Just like our father and grandfather, she will be forever missed by her children and grandchildren.

Why are obituaries important?

Obituaries serve as a way to honor and remember the deceased, while also providing important information to those who may want to attend the funeral or send condolences. They can also be a valuable resource for genealogists and historians.

Who typically writes an obituary?

In most cases, the obituary is written by a family member or close friend of the deceased. Funeral homes often provide guidance and assistance in writing the obituary, but it's ultimately up to the family to decide what information to include.

What information should be included in an obituary?

A typical obituary includes the person's name, age, date of birth and death, place of residence, occupation, education, hobbies, and surviving family members. You may also include other relevant details, such as military service or notable achievements.

How long should an obituary be?

The length of an obituary can vary depending on the publication or platform. Generally, it's best to keep it concise and focused on the most important information. Aim for 1-2 paragraphs at most.

Can I include photos in an obituary?

Yes, many publications and online platforms allow you to include one or more photos with the obituary. This can be a great way to personalize the tribute and make it more meaningful.

How do I submit an obituary to a newspaper?

Contact the newspaper's obituary department directly to find out their submission guidelines and deadlines. Be prepared to provide the necessary information and payment (if required).

Are there any costs associated with publishing an obituary?

Yes, many newspapers and online platforms charge a fee for publishing an obituary. The cost varies depending on the publication, word count, and other factors. Be sure to ask about pricing when submitting your obituary.

Can I write my own obituary in advance?

What if I want to publish an obituary in multiple newspapers?

You'll need to submit the obituary separately to each newspaper, following their individual guidelines and deadlines. Be prepared for varying costs and publication timelines.

Are online obituaries permanent?

Most online obituaries remain accessible indefinitely, although some platforms may eventually archive or remove them. It's essential to check the website's policies before submitting your obituary.
