Obituary Preview: Billy Flanary age 67, Middlesboro, KY, went to meet his heavenly father on May 2, 2024 at UK Medical Center in Lexington, KY. He was born on March 9, 1957 in Middlesboro, KY, to the late Roy and Mary Flanary.
He was a man full of love and laughter one whom never meet a stranger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Paul D. Flanary and Robert E. Flanary; one sister: Mary M. Flanary.
Left to mourn his passing are four daughters: Mary (Billy) Earle, Brittany (Brandon) Brooks, Rindy Flanary and Tiara Flanary, three sons: Billy (Trevelle) Kyle, Eric Flanary, and Bryston Flanary. Twenty-four Grandchildren: Diamond, William, Ra’Shaya, Hillary, Trevon, Billy, Patience, Jasper, Gabriel, Ezekiel, Josiah, Trinity, Payton, Levi, Taegan, Xavier, Jayden, Jaylen, Alexander, Octavia, Ayana, Jayshaun, Armani, and Zavii. Two great grandchildren: Daniah and Mari. Siblings: Leroy Flanary, Daisy Flanary, and David (Lisa) Flanary, plus a host of nieces and nephews. Special Nieces and Nephews: Jamie Rodgers, Dashanna Flanary, Kesha Kyle, William Flanary, Nick Kyle, and Robert Kyle.
Funeral Service for Billy Flanary will be conducted Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 1 p.m. at Shumate Funeral Home with Rev. Anthony Francis officiating. Music will be provided by Church of The True Living God Holiness Choir, Jquan Rayford, William Flanary and Shanita Moore. Pallbearers will be Brandon Brooks, Buddy North, Micheal Rodgers, Billy Earle, Jr, Lonnie Rodgers and Trevon Earle. Obituary Preview: Daniel Thomas Branham, a man of Christian Faith, of Tazewell, TN passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at the age of 66. He was a very humble, kind, and cherished by many.
Born into a Christian home on September 7, 1957, Daniel was the epitome of a dedicated and loyal son and brother. He is preceded in death by his partner, Edna “Suzie” Money, his grandparents, Alexander and Effie Cater, and Taylor and Hallie Branham as well as his parents, Paul Edward Branham, Sr. and Thelma Carter Branham. Daniel is also reunited with his sisters: Janice Sue, Shirley Ann and Doris Ann; brothers: Paul E Branham, Jr., Alex “Pooch” Branham, David W Branham, Vernon L. Branham, Gray Branham, Jimmy Branham, and Jerry Branham.
Left to mourn his loss are his brothers: Marvin L Branham (Lois), Fred H Branham, Richard G Branham, Ronnie K Branham and Mickey L Branham; and sisters: Diane Bolinger (George), Francine Redmon Gambrel (Roy), and Effie L Davis along with a host of special nieces and nephews.
Daniel was adored by his many nieces and nephews who regarded him not only as a protector in their youth but also a friend later in life. Uncle Daniel would celebrate your victories because it made him happy to see you succeed. Any problem you had in life, you could tell Uncle Daniel without fear of judgment. His love was unconditional, and he will be forever missed. Special gratitude is extended to nephew Shawn Branham whose care and support has been deeply appreciated by Daniel and the entire family.
Daniel’s legacy of love, faith and compassion will forever endure in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. Lamentations 3:32 But, though he cause grief, he will have compassion according to the abundance of his steadfast love.

George is survived by his children: Mark (Michelle) Carter, Greg Carter and Kelli (Jeff) Sabins; brother, Ronnie (Carolyn) Carter; grandchildren: Erica Brooke Carter (Craig Smith), Mallorie (Austin) Campbell, Logan Carter, Gavin Carter, Carter and Kinley Sabins; one great grandson, Colt Allen Smith; nephew, Lucas (Carlena) Carter; aunt, Isabelle Dean; special friend, Becky Slusher and a host of cousins, family and friends.

Jack "Pap" Brown - November 11, 1945 - March 31, 2024

Obituary Preview: Jack Brown “Pap” passed away at Middlesboro ARH on Sunday, March 31, 2024 at the age of 78 years old. Jack lived in Middlesboro, KY his entire life and married the love of his life Kathleen Brown on October 5, 1963 and to this union five children were born. They were married for many years until her passing in 2011.
Along with spending time with his family he enjoyed fishing and hunting. Jack “Pap” was well known in the community for helping anyone in need. He never would turn away someone hungry.
In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by parents Bob and Mary Brown; two sons, Danny “Joe” Brown and Terry “Emmit” Brown.
He survived by his daughters; Tammy Brown, Donna “sissy” Brown ( Michael Southerland), Tiffany “Doodle Smith ( Allen Carrender) and one son David “Bo” Brown (Sonya) plus a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and the first great great grandchild on the way, many nieces and nephews and friends and a lifetime special friend Taylor Hardin.
Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, April 4, 2024 at Yeary Cemetery, with Rev. Eric Jordan. Special singing by: Ron Hensly.
Pallbearers will be Cory Lawson, Michael Southerland, Taylor Hardin, Kevin Fuson, Jonathan Rowland, Ben Rowland.
Serving as Honorary Pallbearer will be Christopher Smith.

Minnie Irene Reason Redmond - March 11, 1924 - March 29, 2024

Obituary Preview: Minnie Irene Reason Redmond, age 100 of Middlesboro, Kentucky went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, March 29, 2024. She was born March 11, 1924 in Middlesboro, KY. She had just celebrated her 100th birthday with many friends and family. She was the daughter of the late John Schuyler Reason and Myrtle Foster Reason.
Minnie was a homemaker and quilter for most of her life. She taught Sunday School for 70 years at Bennetts Fork Baptist Church and was an active member of the Woman’s Missionary Union (WMU). Minnie would go on to join Old Yellow Creek Baptist Church in her later years and continued to participate in church services held at Middlesboro Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Minnie never missed an opportunity to share Jesus with everyone she met and was a true testament to the Lord.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, JC Redmond, whom she loved dearly; her sister, Georgia Etta Reason (Deak) Bryant; brother, Winton (Cleo) Reason; niece, Anna Reason Sisk; Mother-in-law, Lana Eldridge; Brothers-in-law: Harvey ( Colleen) Eldridge and Hubert Eldridge; and Sisters-in-law, Ora Lee (Freeman) Saylor and Vicki ( Delbert) Saylor.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David (Tammy) Redmond of Middlesboro; two Grandsons whom she loved with all her heart: David Schyler (Sarah) Redmond of Middlesboro, and Aaron Jay (Ashley) Redmond of Pineville; two great-grandchildren whom she adored: Georgia Rebecca Redmond and Schyler Reed Redmond; niece, Mary Reason Pratt of Dalton, Georgia; nephews: Allen Reason of Maryville, Tennessee and Charles Reason of Smyrna, Georgia; sister-in-law, Dorthy Eldridge of Harlan Kentucky; special friend and neighbor Brenda Southern along with a host of other precious family and friends. Special thanks to the staff of Middlesboro Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility for the care and friendships she received over the last six years.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 2nd, 2024 from 4 p.m.- 6 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 6 p.m. at Shumate Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Bannister officiating. Music will be provided by Sarah Redmond. The Graveside service will be at noon, on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at Green Hills Memorial Gardens. She is survived by three daughters: Sharon Hyde of Perrysburg, Ohio, Deborah Redmond of Speedwell, TN and Patty Price of Middlesboro, KY; sons: Ronald (Phyllis) Yeary of Alto, Georgia, Steve Yeary of LaFollette, TN, James (Kim) Yeary of Mascot, TN and Tim Yeary of Bulls Gap, TN; 12 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and 8 great great grandchildren.

Robert Eugene Renner - October 01, 1933 - March 20, 2024

Obituary Preview: Robert Eugene Renner, age 90, passed away March 20, 2024 at the Middlesboro Appalachian Regional Hospital. He was born October 1, 1933 in the Monarch Mining Camp in Bell County, KY. He was an active member of First Christian Church of Middlesboro, where he was baptized on November 18, 2007. One of his special joys was leading the prayer room between Sunday School and the church service most Sundays. He was a devoted husband to his surviving wife, Bobbie Rae Stanley Renner, who he married on October 23, 1954, at her aunt’s home in Harrogate, TN. He worked most of his life as a salesman, at Montgomery Ward, Lorillard Tobacco Company and Kanawha Steel around 1975 to start his own business, Kentucky Mountain Supply, and closed that up to start Custom Specialty Advertising where he worked until his passing.
He loved music, especially gospel. Because He Lives and I’ll Fly Away were among his favorites. One of his favorite activities was dancing with his granddaughter, Annabelle Rae Axson, to Johnny Rivers’ Rockin’ Pneumonia and the Boogie Woogie Blues. Among his favorite non-gospel songs were Tusk by Fleetwood Mac and Maggie Mae by Rod Stewart. He enjoyed watching music videos on YouTube, often calling to his wife or one of his daughters to “come watch this”. He loved politics, frequently opining about the state of affairs to anyone who would listen. He was a Duke of Hazard and a Kentucky Colonel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, L.H. (Hayes) and Maude Renner, his grandparents, and uncles and aunts.
He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Renner; his daughter and son-in-law, Stefanie and Brian Axson; his granddaughter, Annabelle Axson; his daughter, Linda Renner Speser; and his beloved cat, Maggie Mae, all of Middlesboro.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Lawson; sons: Tommy (Brandy) Lawson, and Jeffrey Lawson. Siblings; Janice Marsee and David Keck. Grandchildren; Dylan (Olivia) Lawson, Darin (Abby) Lawson, Destiny (Clayton) Welch, Sheradyn Lawson, Sheree (Gage) Ellison, Jada Lawson, Chris Lawson, Abbagail Lawson, Isabella Lawson, and Amari Lawson. Great Grandchildren; Anson Lawson, Benjamin Lawson, Stetson Lawson, Tatum Lawson, Blakely Welch, Zendaya Welch, Malia Ellison, Ezekiel Ellison, and Thomas Ellison.
Shirley was a God fearing woman. She loved her grandbabies and her great grandbabies even more. She would open her home to anyone in need. Shirley had one of the biggest hearts and was super funny. She would speak her mind whether you wanted to hear it or not. She was extremely generous and would give anyone the shirt off her back. Cooking was one thing that she loved doing and showing her grandbabies how to make different recipes. She was such a family oriented person and loved spending time with those around her. To know her is to love her and she will be greatly missed by those around her.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m., Saturday, March 16, 2024 at the Lawson Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dylan Lawson, Darin Lawson, Chris Lawson, Clayton Welch, Gage Ellison and Rick Lawson.

In 1967, he enlisted in the Navy to serve his country as a Seabee. After serving 2 tours (4 years) in Vietnam and 2 years inactive duty he was honorably discharged and always enjoyed telling people he had never stepped foot on a ship.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Linda Sue Brock; parents: Clyde and Iva Brock; and two brothers: Alvie Ray Brock and Walter Thomas Brock.
He is survived by his children: Chuck Brock (Hope Redmond), Michelle Long and favorite son-in-law, Mika Long; brothers: George (Lorraine) Brock, Calvin Brock (Faye Helton), and Clyde (Sherry) Brock; sister, Tevis (Wayne) Reed; special adopted daughter, Jacquetta Stacy and a host of nieces and nephews. Virgil was baptized at the same as time as the love of his life, Betty. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
He never saw a stranger and was always a friend to anyone that came his way. It was often said of Virgil that he was a kind gentleman and the best heavy equipment operator that could be found. He was admired for his skills on any type of machinery even to his grass mowing. He loved the mountains especially when hunting or fishing. He would truly enjoy riding his motorcycle through the mountains and valleys. He visited with his friends at the flea market on a regular basis. Any day being on a machine of any kind was a good day for Virgil.
He is survived by his sons: Wade (Amanda) Barnett and Vincent Wayne (Zarina Gafoor) Barnett: grandchildren: Kimberly, Justin, Madisyn, Mia, Zefram and Dax; great grandchildren: Isaac and Lydia and many family and friends.
