Frank Valenti - June 23, 1955 - April 30, 2024

Departed: 04/30/2024 (Hartford )
Obituary Preview: Frank Valenti passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Angels Grace after a week surrounded by loved ones. When you love someone, the way Tony and I love Dad, it’s hard to sum up their life in a few paragraphs, but here are a few of the things that made our dad a man that so many people cared about. Dad was a family man. A foodie. A celebrator of holidays and occasions. When all three things came together at once, he was beyond happy. Through actions and invites, he taught us that there is usually reason for, at the very least, a little get together, and, when there truly is something to celebrate, it’s good to go all out.Tony and Dad enjoyed their cars together (especially revving up their 1973 Charger). They never hesitated to cook up a storm to entertain friends and family. They also had great times as the owners of DeCristo’s Pizzeria in Slinger, WI. Dad and I enjoyed kitchen dancing, attending performances, and watching good movies together. People were usually surprised to learn that Dad enjoyed musicals; Grease, West Side Story, and Tickle Me were a few of his faves. Dad was always there for us. Despite being rather intimidating at times, especially in our teens and twenties, he still managed to let us know we could tell him anything. Any time we called, no matter the hour, he answered. He comforted us on our dark days, dished back the sass on our crabby days, and laughed with us at every opportunity. He tormented us with constant teasing and spoiled us with consistent love. We’re a family that loves animals, and Dad was a big dog person. A house without a dog seemed unnatural to him. Throughout the years he had a few good boys, a Great Dane, Boxer, and more than one Doberman Pinscher, but Vinnie was his last dog and he loved him to pieces. Back in February, it broke his heart to say goodbye to Vinnie and let him cross the rainbow bridge. We like to think that Vinnie is back at Dad’s side, right where he belongs. Dad is also reunited with his brother, Jeff Valenti; parents, Frank and Helen Valenti; cousins Donnie (Linda) Gerbitz, and Deanna Kroha.Frank was a loving father to Tony and Jacqueline Valenti; proud father-in-law to Johnathan Kuehl, and future father-in-law to Emma Kruger, brother and protector to Kristin (Kevin) Condon, and Johnny (Christine) Valenti; Uncle to Tina (John) Lawler, and Shane (Gabrielle) Valenti; beaming Great Uncle to Enzo, Ava, Gemma, Alexis and Pearl; best friend to his love Wendy Engel; as well as a cousin and friend to many. If you would like to honor Frank’s life, please enjoy the day with your dog, donate to your local Humane Society, or support a small business. It’s a great reason to gather your loved ones together and go out to eat. Remember, there’s always something to celebrate. For us it will always be Frank. We love you, Dad, and we’re sure going to miss you.

Patricia "Patsy" Ann Valalik - August 17, 1945 - April 27, 2024

Departed: 04/27/2024 (Hartford )
Obituary Preview: Born Patricia Ann Valalik on August 17, 1945 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania. Patsy was a loving daughter to Julia and Andrew and sister to her older brother William.
Patsy was a beloved high school English teacher. She taught briefly in Pennsylvania and Iowa before settling in Waukegan, Illinois where she taught for many years. More than a teacher, Patsy was a confidant, mentor, counselor and friend to her students. Her classroom was a safe place for students to express themselves and their ideas. Patsy challenged her students, believed in them, listened to them and acknowledged them. She spoke up when books were banned or she disagreed with administration, she brought donuts to her class, and she was less concerned with "rules" than she was with what was "right". She was a little bit of a rebel, and her students loved her for it.
Patsy was a loving and incredible mother to her daughter Annie. She adored her granddaughters Ruby and Rosalie, who call her "Baba Patsy." The gratitude we feel for her, for the love we have received and all that she taught us, is immeasurable.
She was a good friend, and she had deep and long lasting connections with many. She was fun to be around, she was a good listener. She was loyal, kind and supportive.
Patsy was a LOVER OF LIFE. She traveled throughout the US and Europe. She rode on the back of motorcycles and she drove convertibles with the top down even when it was cold outside because she loved to feel the wind blowing her hair. She wrote poetry and painted. She sat on beaches and felt the sun on her skin. She ate ice cream. She laughed a lot and she felt deeply.
Patsy loved people. All people. Young and old. There were no strangers in her eyes, just people she was excited to meet. She greeted each and every person with genuine excitement and curiosity, always happy to learn about them and their lives. She made people feel special.
Patsy loved music. She loved to sing along to songs and if the radio was on, she was dancing! She loved old Motown songs, and one of her favorite stories to tell was when Smokey Robinson pulled her up onstage at a concert and she sang with him.
Patsy spoke truth to power. She stood up for what she believed in. She was generous with her time and her money. She was generous with her spirit.
Patsy had a close relationship with God, and her faith was a driving force in her life. She believed in the message LOVE ONE ANOTHER and she lived her life accordingly. As she aged, Patsy became more and more of who she was. And who she was, was LOVE. Patsy was like a prism- she received God's love, and she reflected it and shined that love on everyone around her.
Patsy loved the color purple and became known as "Purple Patsy" at the Waterford at Hartford where she lived for the last decade of her life. She loved the staff and other residents there and they loved her back.
Patsy Valalik aka "Purple Patsy" passed away Saturday, April 27, 2024, in her home in Hartford, Wisconsin. She was 78 years old. Her final days and moments were spent with loved ones gathered around her, singing sweet songs to her and holding her hand. She died so peacefully, on a beautiful spring day, with the sun shining through the clouds and a warm wind blowing.
Purple Patsy. Baba. Mom. Teacher. Friend. Child of God. Speaker of Truth. Lover of Life. You will be deeply missed. You have touched our lives and changed us for the better. Thank you for your love. Thank you for your life. Thank you for the joy you brought to this world. You will always be with us.
Patsy's Celebration of Life will be held Friday, May 3, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at the Waterford of Hartford, 1025 Bell Avenue, Hartford, WI 53027. Please wear Patsy's favorite color, purple. Contributions in memory of Patsy are appreciated to The Blue Lotus Center: https://www.thebluelotuscenter.org/donate-now

Francis Franklin Baiocchi - November 03, 1933 - April 10, 2024

Departed: 04/10/2024 (Hartford )
Obituary Preview: Francis F. Baiocchi, age 90, of Hartford, WI passed away on April 10, 2024.He was born November 3, 1933 in Chicago, IL during the Great Depression years to Francis and Esther (nee Betti) Baiocchi, the third of five children in the family: Ralph (1924), Adele (1926), Dolores (1936) and Donald (1939). He attended Catholic elementary schools and began studies for the priesthood at Chicago’s Quigley Preparatory seminary in 1947. He earned his BA in philosophy and MA in theology at the University of St. Mary in Mundelein, IL and was ordained to the priesthood May 3, 1960. He was deeply involved in a variety of parish ministries at Saint Giles (Oak Park) and Saint William (Chicago) for ten years, after which he transitioned from celibacy to marriage with Anna Ciamarichello in 1971. He earned a MEd. from Loyola University and then moved to Hartford, WI to teach psychology and social science at the local high school. During his years as a teacher there, he instituted the AP Psychology course for college credits, supervised the summer school program, mentored the school Chess club, coached several community ball teams and was given the coveted Hartford Teacher of the Year award in 1998. During this time, Francis and Anna raised two children (Matthew and Lisa) and were committed to parish work at St. Kilian as liturgical and Communion ministers, choir members and co-directors of the religious Ed program. After retiring from teaching at the age of 67, Francis felt a renewed calling to priestly work, so with much help of his wife and support from many others, he founded the Jesus Our Shepherd (“JOS”) faith community in 2001 that met weekly in a rural church building for the next 18 years. The JOS people felt called by the Spirit to respond more deeply to the needs of others, and so they did with unbelievable generosity of their time, treasure and talent. Francis was proud of his Italian Tuscan heritage and of his parents’ courage and resilience in the face of their many adversities. He was also proud of the many accomplishments of his children, Matthew and Lisa as well as his fine granddaughter, Lucia. He enjoyed his final years of life with his animal companions Bailey, Rocky and Payton (all of whom were shelter dogs). Yet most of all, Francis treasured his many years of married life with his wife, best friend and lover Anna, for whom he is eternally grateful! Francis was predeceased by his parents Francis (1899 - 1970) and Ester (1902-1993), by his siblings Ralph (1924-2002), Adele (1926-2018), and Donald (1939-1999). His is survived by his wife Anna, his children Matthew ( Stacy) and Lisa, his granddaughter Lucia and his sister Dolores. As per Francis’ wishes, there will be no funeral nor memorial service. He simply asked that you be kind to each other as you travel the road of life together.Contributions in memory of Francis are appreciated to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, ASPCA, and or to the American Heart Association.
