Obituary Preview: Eddie Hubert Wilson, affectionately known as "Hube"’ or "Buck" by most of those who were closest to him, was born in the southern town of Thomson, Georgia on June 10, 1932 to Lillie Rogers Wilson and Rufus Wilson.

He was a man who enjoyed some of life’s more simple pleasures. He took pride in the things he owned and enjoyed the things provided by God.
For instance, “Buck” loved to be in nature. Even on some of the coldest days of the year, it was not unusual for him to be outside nurturing his prized vegetable and rose garden, tinkering on his cars, inventing new ways to upgrade them, fishing with his grandchildren in hopes of passing down the knowledge of one of his favorite pastimes.  "Buck" was also a man of faith, he was a member of First Baptist Church, Apple St.  Professionally "Buck" was a butcher by trade, where for many years he was employed by Matkins Meat and Stadlers Country Ham.  "Buck" was the first black butcher employed by Matkins Meat and on top of that he was also the first left handed butcher there.  His skills will always be remembered in his profession.
Always the independent type. Buck took pride in being able to complete tasks on his own, but his daughter, Coretta, was a constant and dedicated companion to make sure that her Buck was always taken care of and treated with the respect and dignity he was entitled to. He was, after all, a giant in his “little girl” eyes. Coretta was steadfast in providing and caring for Buck her entire adult life as he grew older, and yet, even when faced with the daunting reality of having her beloved Buck preparing to return to God, she remained ever faithful, never leaving his side.
While "Buck" has rejoined his beloved Mertis, and his son, Barry, in Heaven he also joins his parents along with the late Mr. & Mrs. Nathan and Annie Mae Casey Rogers who raised him.  His siblings, Leroy Wilson and Oscar Wilson his blessed siblings, Freddie, Billy, Bobby, Ella, Savana Mae, Ollie, Catherine "Kitty", Jean and Patricia.
He leaves behind so many who loved and cherished him during his time on this earth. He will be fondly remembered and missed by his two children, Coretta Wilson and Dexter Tinnin, his four grandchildren, Venturi Wilson, Vic Wilson, Emory Wilson (LaShaunda) and Payge Tinnin, one sister, Vivian Rogers Adams,  his great grandchildren, godchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and so many friends, particularly his dear friend, the unwavering and caring, Ms. Denise Harris.
Thank you for being so many great things and for allowing so many of us to be a part of your life.
We love you Buck.

The length of an obituary can vary, but it's generally recommended to keep it concise and focused on the most important details. Aim for 1-2 paragraphs at most.

Can I include photos in an obituary?

What is a funeral home's role in creating an obituary?

Funeral homes often assist families with writing and submitting obituaries as part of their services. They may also provide guidance on what information to include and how to word the notice.

Can I include humor or personality in an obituary?

Absolutely! Obituaries don't have to be somber and serious. Including anecdotes or humorous stories can help capture the person's spirit and personality.

How do I handle errors or inaccuracies in an obituary?

What is the difference between an obituary and a eulogy?

An obituary is a written notice announcing a person's death and providing biographical information. A eulogy is a speech or written tribute delivered at a funeral or memorial service to celebrate the person's life and legacy.

Can I create an obituary for someone who has been deceased for many years?

Yes! You can still write and publish an obituary as a way to honor their memory and share their story with others.

Are there any specific guidelines for writing an obituary for someone who has died under unusual circumstances?

In cases where the death was sudden, unexpected, or involved sensitive circumstances (e.g., suicide), it's essential to approach the writing process with sensitivity and tact. Consider seeking guidance from a trusted advisor or counselor if needed.
