Obituary Preview: Gerald “Bear" Brasuel was born on February 18, 1934, and went to his eternal home in Heaven on April 23, 2022. Gerald was a long-time hunter, gun collector and collector of many other things. He was also quite a "storyteller" to anyone that would listen. He loved telling stories about growing up in Colorado City, Texas, and his many hunting trips. Most people that knew Bear referred to him as ''quite a character and one of a kind'. He loved his kids his grandkids and great grandkids, and our mom, Pat, with all his heart, referring to our mom as "his Little Darlin'." His grandkids often referred to him as Pawpaw Bear. He could be rough around the edges, but he had a heart of gold.Preceding Gerald in death were his beloved wife Pat, his parents Morris Ray and Maudie Lee Brasuel, his sister Doris Janet Diller. He is survived by his son, Michael Ray Brasuel and wife Mary Kay, his daughter Janet Lou Maxwell, his son Arden Wayne Brasuel and his wife Joy, six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother LC Brasuel and his sister Shirley Huckeba. Gerald is finally reunited with his "little Darlin" in Heaven, for all eternity. Jo Beth was born in San Angelo,Texas on December 23, 1946 to Joseph and Sara Elizabeth Wright Fine. JoBeth was raised onthe family farm in Miles, Texas, and her family’s farming heritage, as some of the earliest settlersin Runnels and Tom Green counties, was very important to her.She followed her first husband, Gary Turner, to the oil fields of Hobbs, N.M., where she was atop sales rep for Home Interiors, and to Vernal, Utah, where she enjoyed gardening and thebeauty of the Rocky Mountains. She spent 28 wonderful years in Grape Creek, Texas with hernext husband Ronnie Richardson, tending her garden and caring for her chickens, beforecoming to live with her daughter Tammy O’Neal and husband Scott in 2018 after Ronnie died.JoBeth loved the color pink, spending time outside, all kinds of animals, horseback riding,dancing, and little children. Most of all, JoBeth loved people: her late husband Ronnie, herchildren and their spouses, grandchildren, friends, siblings, her Miles cousins, neighbors, andcomplete strangers she encountered. She is described by her children as their rock, a comfort,a sounding board, a lighthouse and as someone who delivered accountability with grace.Known as Memaw and Babbo to her grandchildren, JoBeth was the model for what agrandmother should be: a loving, warm, empathetic encourager who had an amazing playroom.She was also their number one fan who sought to cultivate special relationships with each oneof them. A petite dynamo with an easy laugh and ready smile, she was fully engaged in theirlives and a happy spectator at all of their activities.A 1965 graduate of Central High School, JoBeth completed two years at Angelo StateUniversity before pursuing her long and much beloved career in staff development at the SanAngelo State School, training staff to care well for adults with intellectual disabilities.Exemplifying a life well lived in love and in service to others, JoBeth was preceded in death byher parents and her husband Ronnie Ray Richardson. Mom worked 8 years for Walmart as layaway assistant manager and worked 16 years for the US Postal Service as a Rural Route Carrier. She retired from the Postal Service in 2017 to care for her parents, our grandparents, Mama and Papa. Mom loved her family and grandkids, loved fishing, traveling, country music and dancing, yard work, making jokes, Big Red and sweet tea. Mom was preceded in Death by her parents Rodney & Norma Dyer and 2 of her brothers Ronnie & Gene McDaniel. Obituary Preview: On July 19, 1967, a precious daughter named Diane Marie Duncan was born to Marlean and E. A. Duncan Sr. in San Angelo, Tx. Diane was raised by her father and Grandmother Ms. Lovelean Richards, along with her other siblings, sisters Elenor Ford, Collette Griffin, Tammy Duncan, and youngest brother Edward A. Duncan Jr. As a child Diane loved music and singing various genres of music, where later, as an adult Diane became fond of gospel music as well. Diane attended public schools, from elementary to high school in San Angelo, Tx. She was sociable, and friendly, loved to talk and engage with other people, no matter who they were, and addressed everyone as a sweetheart. Di Di enjoyed playing various card games; spades, and dominoes where she learned how to play “bones'' at an early age from her father Edward and grandmother Lovelean.As Diane journeyed through life as a young woman, in 1983 she was blessed with the birth of her precious daughter, Dynan Marlean Zepeda. Now a mother, she left home with her daughter and set sails to Dallas. In 1990, she was blessed with the birth of a son, Andrew Duncan.Diane, with her two children, moved back home to San Angelo to start a new chapter in her life.Diane met Karl, and in 1995 they started their lives together. In 2000, she and Karl moved to Washington, DC for a better life and opportunities for their family. In 2009, Diane and Karl married, and the beginning of their Divine Union. Diane and Karl were blessed with ten beautiful grandchildren. Diane had a strong work ethic that stretched throughout Washington, Dc. A few of her most proud exciting tasks were when she was employed at the Ronald Reagan Bldg., from2015 to 2018. Challenging work helped move Diane to the White House and Pentagon, in 2019. At the tender age of fifty-five, Diane transitioned in San Angelo, Tx, on April 15, 2022, where she resides in the ranks of our noble ancestors. Preceded in death, her Loving parents: Marlean & Edward A. Duncan Sr., her Grandparents, Lovelean Richards; Mabel & William Duncan Sr.; two siblings, her sister, Barbra Chavez, and brother, Louis Duncan. Diane Marie Duncan-James is survived by her loving and devoted husband Karl Lee James, their two children, daughter, Dynan Zepeda of DC, and son, Andrew (Ce-Ce) Duncan of DC; Sisters, Edna Duncan of Austin, Elenor Ford (Clemmie) of Dallas, Collette (James) Griffin of Adkins, Tx, Tammy Duncan of San Angelo; brothers, Danny (Barbra) Duncan of Houston, Marvin (Pat) Duncan of Austin, and Edward (Roshelle) Duncan of La Marque, Tx. She would also be missed by her grandchildren who she absolutely adored Ya’Nira Duncan, Zaire Tyler, Anaiyah Duncan, Zevin Tyler, Harmoni Zepeda, Honesti Zepeda, Chaze Duncan, Lovelene’ Jewel Zepeda, Zoey, and Chance Simpson. Obituary Preview: Sarah Faye Scott, 19, of San Angelo passed away April 14, 2022, in the town of San Angelo. She was born in San Angelo to Mickey and Kay Scott on March 10, 2003. She went to high school at Central High School and graduated in May of 2020. She was a sophomore at Angelo State University.Sarah ran track for San Angelo Independent School District. She started at an early age and was supported by her dad. They spent countless hours at the track focusing on hurdles and blocks perfecting her form and time. In high school, she competed in relays and the 400. She qualified for Regionals multiple times. She also ran in the Texas Relays at the University of Texas Stadium as a freshman. She was the recipient of the Holland’s Award of Excellence as a senior. This award is voted upon by her teammates for exhibiting exemplary teamwork, athletic ability, and overall conscientiousness while making a significant contribution to the team.Sarah also loved the outdoors and spending time with her grandfather, Ken Scott. They took care of the livestock, horses, and deer. She loved nothing more than feeding the cows with Gran and driving around the place reminiscing about times they had spent together. Sarah also spent countless hours riding her horses and camping with her sister Emily. Sarah was proud of her little sister Emily and strived to be the best role model an older sister could be. Sarah’s true passion in life was horses. Her grandfather gave her her first horse at the age of 8. She has been an avid horse rider ever since. Sarah was a member of the San Angelo Ambassadors and then later joined the Concho Chicks Drill Team. She took her horse passion with her to Prude Ranch. She has been involved in their camps, trail rides, and sharing her dream and passion with other young horse lovers at Prude. “When you fall off you get back on and try again until you get it right.”Funeral services will be Thursday, April 21, 2022, at 6:00 pm at the Junell Center with burial Friday, April 22, 2022 at 10:00 am at the Fairview Cemetery in Bronte, Texas.Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home. Carol later moved to back to San Angelo with Bob Reynolds in 2003.She is survived by Husband Robert Reynolds, children Bobby, Kenny, Monty, Mikki, and Dan, one brother, Edward Joe and wife Kay Scroggins, three half-sisters, Tina, Tia, and Toni Knox Henson, and numerous grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father Urban Scoggins, mother Willie, son Benny Jr., daughter Sissy, and half-brother Ricky McCauley. Carol lived with her grandparents, Bertha and James Talley and Uncle Sonny after her dad died. She also lived with her mother and Ralph and had the best time in Clovis, New Mexico where she was a cheerleader in Jr. High and then again in High School. When her mother left to move to California with Ralph her gym teacher, Mrs. Purdy took her in. She always was thankful to her aunts and their husbands for taking her in and giving her the guidance, they could in times when it was needed. She went to beauty school and had a beauty shop which was hard work, but it was enjoyable and fed the family. Carol had many jobs throughout her life that helped her grow and gain confidence in herself and her abilities. She made many good friends throughout the years.Some of her favorite thing in life were her Lord, her kids and family including grandkids and great grandchildren, Bob Reynolds and her friends, her pets. She enjoyed playing the slot machines, having a clean house, traveling, the horse races, cars, and eating out.She always said that raising the kids was lots of fun and hard work. She wished she would have taken a deep breath and relished it more as it went by so fast. She always tried to make a home and life for them like the one she wished for when she was young.

Samuel Lagrand Robison - March 20, 1943 - April 09, 2022

Obituary Preview: Sam was born on March 20, 1943, to Mertie (Bilbrey) Robison & Samuel LaGrand Robison Sr. in McAlester, Oklahoma. He and his family lived there until after World War II ended. Then the family moved to San Angelo, TX.Sam joined the Navy reserves with his mom’s approval at age 17 in March of 1960. One month after joining, he transferred to the Army and went active duty on June 27, 1960. He spent 3 years with the 82nd Airbourne. Then he went to Special Forces training company for 14 months and trained as a medic. His first tour was with 7th Special Forces Group / 11th Coop.Mike Force Eagle Flight Recon Platoon Special Forces Group to Vietnam in 65-66. When he got to Vietnam, he levied into the 5th Special Forces Group, then to 3rd Special Forces Group. After he spent 12 months there, he went back to Fort Bragg. His 2nd tour was with 5th Special Forces Group I C & C Set at Phu Bai to Vietnam in 67-68. After his 14-month tour there, he went back to Fort Bragg. Once back in the states, he learned that the 6th Special Forces Group had received orders to go back to Vietnam with extended time of service. He had orders to go with them. With no time between tours, he decided to leave the Army. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal and Oak Leaf Cluster, Purple Heart, Air Medal, Good Conduct Medal at Clasp Bronze, 2 Loops (Good Conduct #2), National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and Bronze Star, Combat Medical Badge 1st award, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Ribbon w/ device 1960, Expert Badge, Auto Rifle Bar, & Carbine Bar and Rifle Bar, Sharpshooter and Rifle Bar, and Parachutist Badge – Senior. He discharged on March 25, 1969, as a Special Forces Medic with a rank of E-7. He served 8 years, 9 months, and 23 days. He could tell you down to hours and minutes.He was a proud member of the Texas Veterans for Veterans, Special Operation Association, Purple Heart and Disabled Veterans of America.Among other things following his time in the Army, he owned and operated several bars on Chadbourne Street in San Angelo. He worked in the oil field for about 20 years, which took him to many states. He became an electrician and worked with his late brother, Bob, for many years.He loved fishing, archery & riding motorcycles with his son Robby, late brothers Bob and Wesley. He enjoyed spending time with family; proudly watching his grandchildren play sports of any kind; and giving them pointers on how to improve their game. He liked making art from wood to give to his family and friends, listening to any and all of Don Williams’ music, and spending time with his close friends and combat brothers; Tim, Kenny, Floyd, Johnny, Rick, Larry, and others.Sam went to be with the Lord at home surrounded by family on April 9th, 2022.He was preceded in death by his parents, son Timothy and brothers Wesley & Robert.He is survived by his wife, Syble Dianne Robison, son Robby and his wife Ila; 5 daughters: Gina, Michele, Krislynn and husband Matt Neace, Christy and husband Kevin Boen and Samantha and husband Jerry Garcia; 16 grandchildren: Carly, Hunter, Tyler, Brandon, Michael, Logan, Timothy, Madison, Matthew, Jarric, Dean, Parker, Preston, Laney, Elijah and Gabriel; 8 great-grandchildren: Ali, Harley, Kase, Kinzley, Jayden, Braxton, Anais & Ethan and two more on the way.

He traveled the world as a child of a military family. He graduated from Central High School in San Angelo in 1979. He joined the United States Navy and served from 1979 to 1981. He worked as a Certified Mechanic for most of his life. Before retirement, he worked in construction. He loved to work with his hands and make things beautiful. Joe was an active member of the Concho Valley Dart Association, serving as team captain for Morey’s Fab Five. He was a DJ for Morey’s Club and Sports Bar Wildfire Karaoke. Joe loved to dance and sing, was an avid collector of die-cast cars, and was most at peace when fishing. He loved and lived life to the fullest every day. His final year was his happiest. He met his fiancé, Dorri Jowers, and was engaged to be married on May 14, 2022.Joe is preceded in death by his father, Leroy Manis. He is survived by his fiancé, Dorri Jowers of San Angelo; mother, Loretta Manis of San Angelo; brothers, Leonard Manis and wife Ginger, of San Angelo, and Leroy “Bucky” Manis of Euless. He is also survived by his children and grandchildren, his son Josiah Manis and wife Kayla of Ballinger, along with grandchildren Jesse Vela, Destiny Vela, Zoey Vela, and Josiah Manis; his daughter Elizabeth Manis and wife Lisa of Ballinger, along with grandchildren Sierra Barrow, Grayson Covington, Joey Covington, Evan Covington, and Shane Manis; son Hollis Manis and wife Kaydee of San Angelo, along with grandchildren Christian Storms, Kyle Manis, Nevaeh Manis, Lillie Fisher, Violet Fisher, Kaydon Fisher, and Clover Manis; step-son Catlin Barraza and wife Dawn of Ackerly, along with grandchildren James Walters, Codi-Lynn Evans, Skye Barraza, and Aowyn Barraza; and step-son Joaquin Jimenez of Ballinger, along with grandson Gage Jimenez. He married the love of his life on September 5, 1959 in San Angelo, Texas. He picked cotton when he was very young, worked 15+ years for Ponca Wholesale, 10+ years for Tom’s Chip, 10+ years for Deli Express, and 5 years for Jim Bass Ford. He quit Jim Bass Ford to take care of mom that had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's. He loved to fish, go camping, going to the horse races, really enjoyed going to the casinos. He was a jokester to the point when he actually was telling the truth we often wouldn’t believe him. Rodney & his late wife helped his daughter raise their grandsons Mikel, Edward, Fabian & Joshua. Rodney is preceded in death by his loving wife Norma Dyer, his parents Emerson and Neita Dyer, his in-laws AC and Mattie Collins, his two step-sons he raised Ronnie McDaniel and Gene McDaniel, his brother Richard Dyer and his lifelong friend Ray Eaton.Rodney is survived by his daughter Caroline Trejo of the home in Grape Creek, his son Paul Dyer and wife Nancy of San Angelo, Texas. Elton was born in Longview, TX to Felix Hollan and Pauline Mildred (Vaughn) Anderson on December 24, 1941. He was a Christmas Eve baby. Elton attended Ballinger High School. He enlisted into the Marines after high school. He married R. Carolyn Morris on June 20, 1964, in Abilene, TX. He was a road construction superintendent for Reece Albert, Inc. for over 40 years before he retired. He was a long-time member of Immanuel Baptist Church, where he served on the usher committee and as parking lot security. After Elton retired, he began to work driving for a tire testing company to keep busy. He also worked for the city of San Angelo driving a bus for the elderly and handicapped. He enjoyed spending time in his vegetable garden. His favorite past time was spent at the gun range and going on hunting trips with his brothers. He enjoyed taking his family camping, snow skiing and other family adventures. Once his grandkids came along he enjoyed cheering them on and supporting all of their achievements. Elton was known as granddaddy to his 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and to the kids in Mrs. Angie’s childcare. Elton was a great husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be missed by many. Elton is preceded in death by his parents Felix Hollan and Pauline Anderson, mother-in-law Willa Mae (King) Harrell and brother Ronald Hollan Anderson. Elton is survived by his wife Carolyn, children Angela (Doug) Fauley, Joey (Anna) Anderson and Melissa (Jesse Davis) Anderson. Grandchildren Jessika (Justin) McGuire, Megan (Taybor) Flores, Michael (Larisa) Fauley, Dalton (Isabel) Anderson and Evan Anderson. Great-grandchildren Mirum and Corbin Anderson and Julie and Jacob McGuire. Brothers Raymond (Shirley) Anderson and Dale (Shirley) Anderson. Sister-in-laws Jana Anderson, Darlene Becker and LaNelle Perkin. Plus many nephews and nieces. She married her high school sweetheart and love of her life Sid Burns on September 29, 1973. They had two children together, Jeremy and Molly. Cookie was a loving wife, mother, granmoma, and friend. She loved spending time with her friends and was a second mom to many. She loved traveling and riding motorcycles. Christmas was her favorite holiday and a big deal at her house. Her favorite thing of all was to spend time with her family and make new memories on family vacations and family dinners. Cookie started her career in medicine as an EMT in Coke County. She then became a tech in the Shannon Emergency Department while she got her nursing license. She earned her nursing degree in 1995 and spent the next 22 years working as a nurse in different areas. She spent most of her years working for Shannon in the Emergency Department and the last five years as the employee health and safety nurse. She loved taking care of patients and helping others. She was a teacher and mentor to many, in nursing and in life. She made many wonderful friends over her career. Cookie is survived by her husband, Sid; her children Jeremy Burns and wife Samantha, Molly Bennett and her husband Matt; grandchildren Hunter McCorckle, Kiara Burns, Aden Burns, Brooke Bennett and a grandson on the way; her brother John Hinnard and wife Karla and uncle Richard Bryan who was more of a brother and his wife Tillie. She is also survived by her mother-in-law Inez Harper, in-laws Suzanne and Richard Johnson, Bill and Linda Burns, Doug and Marlane Burns, Ernest and Linda Burns and special cousin Jimmy Martin and his wife Lorri, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Through her work in physical therapy and home healthcare, she found a fulfillment that was obvious to others by her glow. Unfortunately, her career was cut short due to illness. However, her glow returned when she welcomed her first grandchild in 2011. She spent the last 10 years of her life caring for her granddaughters, who she adored almost as much as they adored her. Francine will be remembered for sharing the best life advice, pep-talks, and most importantly comic relief with everyone around her. She laughed often and loved intensely. Always the first to lend a helping hand, Francine was loyal and compassionate to many. She was loved by all she encountered. Heaven is lucky to have her now. She will be severely missed by her surviving family, particularly her children and grandchildren, to whom she dedicated her life. At last, she is reunited with the love of her life, and we will always be thankful for her presence and wisdom. We’ll love you forever,We’ll like for always,As long as We’re living,Our mommy you’ll be. (Sonny) Fowler, and they were married November 3rd, 1953 in Lovington, NM.She spent twenty years as military wife (Air Force and Army) and she and Melvin lived in Texas, Colorado, California, Germany, and North Carolina. She spent another twenty years in Big Spring as Melvin perused a second career as Captain of the Big Spring Police Department. It was there where Wanda obtained her real estate license and spent many years selling real estate. She and Melvin moved to San Angelo in 1993, where she worked for Dierschke and Dierschke before her retirement.She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde Ragsdale, Edna McCombs, husband Melvin D Fowler, sister Clydene Goodman, and son Melvin D. (Danny) Fowler Jr.She is survived by her children Sammy C. Fowler, and Stacy D. Fowler. Four grand children Dillon Durrett, T.J. Fowler, Erin Fowler, Natalie Fowler, and one great grandson Luke Saluri.There are no services planned at this time, her ashes will be interred with her husband of 60 years in the Texas State Veteran Cemetery in Abilene.If so desired, the family suggests a donation in her memory to St. Jude Children Hospital.
