Victoria Wright - October 27, 1968 - April 06, 2022

Departed: 04/06/2022 (Dublin)
Obituary Preview: Funeral Services for Ms. Victoria Wright will be held Sunday, April 10, 2022 at 2:00PM. Location: William Grove Baptist Church 104 West Mary Street. Rev. Jonathan Lewis will serve as eulogist. Interment will follow at Dudley Memorial Cemetery 600 East Mary Street.
Ms. Victoria Wright was born on October 26, 1968, in Dublin, Laurens County, Georgia, to the parentage of Mr. Lee and Mrs. Ada Mae Wright She was their fifth precious bundle of happiness.  As a youth, she enjoyed the love and attention of all her sisters and brothers as evidenced by her desire to always be surrounded by family which is a trait that she carried with her while on her earthly journey. She was a product of the Dublin City Schools System where she earned her diploma in 1988.  Vicky, affectionately known by all who love her, peacefully transitioned from this earthly realm in the early morning hours of Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at the Fairview Park Hospital, Dublin, Georgia.
Vicky’s strength, determination, fortitude, steadfastness, loyalty, and respect for others will always be remembered and treasured by her family and friends. In addition to those traits, her smile along with her sense of humor was most often used as her introduction statement. She truly had a heart of gold which she kindly shared with so many.
In October, 1987, Vicky was blessed with the birth of her one and only son, Christopher. As he grew older, so did she in both wisdom along with the acceptance of responsibilities. He was her first real blessing. In May, 1992, her next blessing appeared with the birth of a sweet daughter that she named Tiffany. They both fulfilled her goals of motherhood. However, her world was made complete from the added blessings of her three grandchildren- Ian, Ivy and most recently a four-month-old Londyn. Her family meant the world to her. This was demonstrated daily in the way that she lived and assisted in providing for them all.
In the year of 1988, her employment with Dairy Queen of Dublin began with 35 years of service. This was her calling to service. Her professional knowledge of operations, money management, and customer service were all gained through her multi-year uninterrupted service to this local business. Dairy Queen was truly proud to have Victoria Wright as its loyal employee.
When battling breast cancer became a part of her everyday existence, she fought it with her entire being. First acknowledging the goodness of God, following health plans, but most of all relying on the steadfastness of her loving family - especially on her mother, Mrs. Ada Mae Wright, to aid her to succeed in that ever-raging battle. Her victory is now complete because she is sleeping peacefully in the arms of our Lord and Savior.
Her beloved family members who have completed this earthly dash prior to her include her father, Mr. Lee Wright, maternal grandparents, Mr. Willie and Mrs. Eula Mae Allen, paternal grandparents, Mr. James and Mrs. Alvinnie Wright, great-aunt Mrs. Ethel Spikes, uncle and aunt Mr. Willie and Bernita Allen Jr., sister Patricia Wright and brother Jeffrey Allen.
Our new angel is survived by her son, Christopher (Jessica) Wright, and daughter, Tiffany O’Neal; grandchildren, Ian and Ivy Wright, Londyn White, her mother Mrs. Ada Mae Wright of Dublin, and siblings: Frances (Charles) Wright, Priscilla Wright, Randy Wright, Andy (Tosha) Wright, Alice Wright, Robert (Glenda) Wright,  Lee Wright, Jr., Clifton Wright, , Anita Wright,   all of Dublin; Alton(Stephanie)Wright of Milledgeville, Cynthelia Wright McIntosh of Covington; Micheal Smith, and Chris Johnson of Dublin. Why are obituaries important?

Obituaries play a significant role in honoring the life of the deceased, providing closure for those who are grieving, and serving as a historical record of the person's life. They also help to inform others of the passing and provide details about funeral services or memorial events.

Who typically writes an obituary?

The task of writing an obituary usually falls on the family members or close friends of the deceased. In some cases, a funeral home or crematorium may offer assistance with writing and publishing the obituary.

What information should be included in an obituary?

A typical obituary includes the person's full name, age, date of birth and death, place of residence, occupation, education, hobbies, achievements, and surviving family members. It may also include details about funeral services, memorials, or charitable donations.

How long should an obituary be?

The length of an obituary can vary depending on the publication or online platform. Generally, it should be concise and to the point, ranging from 100 to 500 words.

What is the difference between an obituary and a death notice?

A death notice is a brief announcement of a person's passing, usually including only the basic facts such as name, age, and date of death. An obituary, on the other hand, provides more detailed information about the person's life and legacy.

Can I include photos in an obituary?

Yes, many publications and online platforms allow you to include one or more photos with the obituary. This can be a meaningful way to personalize the tribute and help others remember the deceased.

How do I submit an obituary to a newspaper or online platform?

The submission process varies depending on the publication or platform. You may need to fill out an online form, email the obituary to a specific address, or contact a funeral home for assistance.

How much does it cost to publish an obituary?

The cost of publishing an obituary varies widely depending on the publication, word count, and any additional features such as photos or online links. Expect to pay anywhere from $50 to several hundred dollars.

Can I write my own obituary in advance?

Yes, it is becoming increasingly common for people to write their own obituaries in advance. This can be a therapeutic exercise in reflecting on one's life and legacy.

What if I want to keep the obituary private?

If you prefer not to make the obituary publicly available, you can choose to share it only with close friends and family through private channels such as email or social media groups.

Can I include humorous or personal anecdotes in an obituary?

Absolutely! Obituaries are meant to celebrate the person's life and personality. Including lighthearted or touching stories can help make the tribute more relatable and memorable.

How do I handle sensitive or difficult information in an obituary?

If there are sensitive or difficult aspects of the person's life that you're unsure how to address in the obituary, consider consulting with other family members or close friends for guidance.

What if I need to make corrections to an already published obituary?

Contact the publication or online platform where the obituary was published and provide them with the corrected information. They will typically make the necessary changes as soon as possible.

Can I republish an obituary at a later date?

Yes, you can republish an obituary on significant dates such as anniversaries or birthdays. This can serve as a way to continue honoring the person's memory over time.

Are there any specific guidelines for writing an obituary for someone who was young or died unexpectedly?

When writing an obituary for someone who died young or unexpectedly, it's essential to be sensitive to the emotional impact on those who are grieving. Focus on celebrating their life and accomplishments rather than dwelling on the circumstances of their passing.

Can I include quotes or lyrics in an obituary?

Absolutely! Including meaningful quotes or song lyrics can add depth and personality to the obituary.

What if I'm struggling to write an obituary due to grief or emotional distress?

Don't hesitate to reach out to a trusted friend, family member, or professional counselor for support. They can help you process your emotions and find the words to honor your loved one.

Can I use an online template or example as a guide for writing an obituary?

How do I ensure that an online obituary remains accessible over time?

How do I cope with reading multiple obituaries for loved ones who have passed away?

Losing multiple loved ones can be emotionally overwhelming. Consider reaching out to support groups or counseling services that specialize in grief support. Remembering happy memories and celebrating their lives can also help you navigate this difficult time.
