William Matheson - September 12, 1938 - October 30, 2020

Departed: 10/30/2020 (Ogden)
Obituary Preview: On Friday October 30th, at age 82, our beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather “Papa” and friend, peacefully returned to his Heavenly Father. He was surrounded by his adoring family as he was released into a place of rest and comfort. Bud, as he was affectionately called, was born in Cedar City, UT on September 12th, 1938 to William Lunt Matheson and Vera Evelyn Littley. Bud was the youngest of three children and their only boy.
Bud learned the importance of a strong work ethic at a young age. At age 17, he learned trade skills such as welding from his father. He was selected as Parowan High School’s graduating class of 1957 Valedictorian where he wrote and delivered his graduation speech. Throughout his lifetime he perfected many elements of building and creating as a licensed contractor, but his favorite projects included various types of finish work. Bud’s attention to detail was shown in his work and play. Some of his favorite pastimes include packing through the Uintah Mountains, carving down the slopes, and playing a perfect round of golf. Our most memorable stories with him involved either a fishing pole or a shotgun, and the perfect spot. Whether we were working or playing, Bud was always so patient while teaching confidence and skills that he had already developed.
Fishing always gave him the biggest smile, but the catch of his life was when he met and married Eileen. He built their dream home and they built their life in Farr West, UT. Bud set an example of unconditional love and devotion to his bride throughout their 23 years of marriage. He is survived by his best friend and wife Eileen; their two daughters: Jamila (Kenny) McFarland and Marzzieh (Kirt) Larsen; his five children: Christine Jensen, Janet (Paul Gardner) Metcalf, Daniel (Darlene) Matheson, Lisa (David) Crosby, and Benjamin Matheson, whom he shared with former spouse Lola Ann Kibbe; his older sister Carol Ann Webster; his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and family too numerous to list, but not forgotten. He was reunited with his parents, William and Vera Matheson, his older sister Claudia (Gene) Snyder, his brother in law Francis (Bud) Webster and his sweet granddaughter Mallori Lindsay Metcalf.
Bud lived a life of, ‘When thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth,’ so in lieu of flowers we invite you to do an anonymous act of service. This is the best way to honor Bud. In light of this, Bud would have wanted to say thank you for all of the texts and calls of love and for the incredible care of friendship given by his home health nurse Annette Wood.
A memorial service took place Friday, November 6, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Farr West Poplar Stake Center (1745 N. 2300 W. Farr West, UT). Due to Covid-19 circumstances, services were live streamed online and may be viewed on the "Click here to access video" button below. Unfortunately the first part of the service was not recorded due to technical difficulties.  What was recorded is viewable below. Russell William Berrett - November 30, 1931 - July 12, 2020

Departed: 07/12/2020 (Ogden)
Obituary Preview: Russell William Berrett, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2020, in Bountiful, Utah. He was surrounded by his loving wife and three daughters as he returned home to our Heavenly Father.
Russ was born on November 30, 1931, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was the second son born to Robert William and Mabel Jones Berrett. He attended schools in the area and graduated from West High School. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the Utah National Guard with his brother and was soon activated. He was sent to Wisconsin and, because he knew how to type, he was assigned to the administration department. He was stationed at Los Alamos, New Mexico, and while there, was assigned to the Atomic Energy Division. He was deployed to Eniwetok Island and witnessed the world’s first hydrogen bomb explosion.
After returning home to Salt Lake City, he was discharged from the Army. He began his schooling at the University of Utah and started working various jobs. He worked on the Salt Flats for AAA driving tests, ran a ski resort at Pineview Dam, and worked for Deseret Chemical and Tooele Ordinance Depot. He then became employed at AT&T as a sales representative and handled telephone communications for large corporations. While at AT&T, he met Shirley Stanger, who was working as a service representative, and they were asked to work together to organize a Thanksgiving Dinner for a needy family. Their relationship grew and in May 1957, they were married in the Idaho Falls Temple.
In 1958, they moved to Idaho Falls, and Russ assumed the responsibility of the farming entities of the family business, which later became North Highlander Farms. Dad was known for miles around for having a beautiful farm and the most state-of-the art equipment. He was often recognized for the quality of his product and was known for implementing progressive techniques of farming. He retired from that responsibility in the early 2000's when the farms were sold. He appreciates the good men who worked with him during those years.
Russ and Shirley were blessed to have three special daughters. Memories were created on the lake, on the ski hill, in the motor home, and at the farm. In the early 70's, they built their cabin on the outlet of Henry’s Lake, and it quickly became a haven for family and friends. It was Russ’ favorite place to be. Some of the many attributes we love about him include the value of hard work, optimism, humor, kindness, wisdom, and generosity.
During their many years in Idaho Falls, they were blessed with wonderful, lifelong friends and neighbors with whom they raised their families, traveled the world, and supported each other. These good people are very special to them. Russ was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in positions in the Elders and High Priest Quorums, Sunday School, and as a High Councilor.
In 2018, Russ and Shirley decided to move into Creekside Senior Living in Bountiful, Utah, so they would be closer to most of their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. They were blessed to have made many memories as they spent time living closer to family. They also made many new and dear friends while living at Creekside.
Russ is survived by his wife Shirley; his daughters, Kirsten (Lloyd) Hardcastle of Bountiful, UT, Wendy Berrett of Idaho Falls, ID and Lisa (Neal) Watters of Pleasant Grove, UT; his 14 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and his older brother, Richard (Ede) Berrett.
The family expresses their love and gratitude for the kind service given to Russ by the hospice nurses and aides from Caregiver Support Network, as well as the concern and thoughtfulness given by the employees at Creekside Retirement Center.
A graveside service will be held at 12 noon Saturday, July 18, 2020, at Fielding Memorial Park, 4600 S. Yellowstone Avenue, Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends on Friday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior. Both visitations will be held at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, Idaho Falls.
Military rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and the Idaho Honor Guard.

Kala Jane Morrow - November 20, 1953 - March 18, 2020

Departed: 03/18/2020 (Ogden)
Obituary Preview: To know her was to love her!  Those fortunate to be illuminated by Kala’s light, will miss her infectious love, laughter and uncanny wisdom (she had an amazing BS detector.)  She was extremely generous and would give the shirt off her back to someone in greater need. Kala passed away on March 18, 2020, with her partner of 30 years, Greg Berndt, by her side.  One of her favorite and regular adventures was to travel to Montana and Colorado to spend time with her daughter, Layla Holt.  She was an avid Food Network viewer who would tell you she enjoyed cooking, but we know she preferred the eating rather than the cooking. Adeline Hiltebrant - October 16, 1925 - February 03, 2020

Departed: 02/03/2020 (Ogden)
Obituary Preview: Early on the morning of February 3rd, 2020, Adeline T. Hiltebrant peacefully passed away in Bountiful, Utah. She was 94 years old. She spent most of her life in Ohio in the Cleveland area. She lived a good, long life and is survived by her 3 sons (a 4th son passed), 10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.
Adeline was born in Cleveland, Ohio on October 16, 1925, to John Jack Toddy (Tadych) and Mary Katherine Pasek. She and her parents lived a very modest life and her father worked in a factory during his career. He would get up early to report for work at 5:00 AM each day and home by 1-2:00 PM. He would then, during the summer, attend to his tomato plants behind the garage while her mother baked poppyseed treats and other yummy goodies. Adeline had an older brother, Clayton Toddy, and a sister, Doris Palmer, who both preceded her in death.
She married Donald B. McCann on October 15, 1949, in Cleveland, Ohio. Donald was an attorney in Cleveland and became quite successful representing some of Ohio’s largest companies. They both loved acting in little theatres in Brecksville, Ohio. They started their family and had 4 sons together and Adeline stayed home to raise her boys. Their first child was Donald Barry McCann Jr. born on May 29, 1951 (Bountiful, Utah). They purchased their first home in Brecksville, Ohio on 12404 Glen Valley Drive in 1953. Soon after, in 1954, Brian Lawrence McCann (deceased) was born, then Brett William McCann (Las Vegas) in 1964 and finally Brady Todd McCann (Ohio) in 1967. All of her sons are living except for Brian, who passed in 2006.
Adeline and Donald McCann divorced, and she remarried Stephen Hiltebrant October 16, 1981, and together they lived in Northfield, Ohio until Steve’s passing in 1995. She moved to Bountiful, Utah from Ohio in July 2015, so she could get help with her care. In her later years, she enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians play baseball and cheered while watching every single game and even went on a Cleveland Indians cruise with her sister Doris. During her later life, she raised her grandson Mark McCann, son of Brian McCann, in her unselfish acts of love.
Adeline will be interned in Ohio with the family sometime in the near future. We would ask that no flowers be sent but that you would please donate the cost of flowers to a non-profit organization of your choice. One suggestion is Bountiful Children’s Foundation, a world-wide organization (https://bountifulchildren.org/). Thank you.

Timothy Nielsen Wight - September 03, 1948 - December 21, 2019

Departed: 12/21/2019 (Ogden)
Obituary Preview: Timothy Nielsen Wight, Beloved Father and Husband, passed away on Saturday December 21, 2019 after many physical struggles due to cancer.
Tim was born September 3, 1948 in Ogden, Ut, son of D. Frank Wight and Fern Nielsen Wight. He grew up in South Ogden where he attended one year at Bonneville High School. They then moved to Brigham City, where he graduated from Box Elder High School. Tim excelled in playing football and baseball and later went on to play baseball for Weber State College. Athletics was one of his greatest passions, and he gave so much time and energy to always being the best he could be. Whether he be on the field or a coach on the sidelines, he gave 100 percent.
Tim was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He held many church leadership positions throughout his life, and was Bishop of the Clinton 1st Ward for many years. The Gospel was a constant guiding light in his life and although he faced some trials, it was always his rock. In his final days, he had the opportunity to tell his children that he knew the Atonement was real and that he profoundly felt his Savior’s love and forgiveness.
Tim was a passionate and relentless salesman. He worked with various companies throughout his life, and was awarded “top salesman” on more than one occasion. Of all of his endeavors, working for Bear River Log Homes was his favorite. You could often find him wearing hats with phrases such as ‘’Tim-Ber” and “Logs Rule, Bricks Drool’’.
He was known by many as “Coach Tim”. He gave approximately 20 years of his life to guiding and shaping young athletes both in the play of the game and in many life lessons as well. He loved his time coaching and looked back on it with the fondest of memories.
Tim was married and sealed to Nalani Young from 1967-1982. Tim then married and was later sealed to Janet Nash from 1982-2003. He was currently married to JoD’Ann Wight. They were married in August of 2007.
Surviving are eight children, Wendy Baham, Nikol Wight, Benjamin (Claudia) Wight, Jess (Cassandra) Wight, Sheridan (Ben) Borchert, Kali (Beau) Blanchard, Cade Wight, and Paislee Wight, as well as four step-children, Shad (Erin) Bybee, Carson (Morgan) Bybee, Colton (Lauren) Bybee, and Jake Bybee. Also surviving are his two brothers and one sister, Thom (Karen) Wight, Frank (Karen) Wight, and Debbie (Dave) Cowdin. Tim was preceded in death by his beloved parents and his son, Timothy Young Wight (Ty).
Everyone remembers their story of Tim the way they need to, because he touched each life in his own unique way. His larger than life personality will be sorely missed in the lives of all those who loved him…and he was indeed so very loved. In Tim’s very own words here is a excerpt from a poem he wrote years ago. “Yes, my friends, my greatest quest;  Is to prove worthy, and be one of God’s best. And to someday hear His voice say unto me… “Well done thou good and faithful servant; enter now into Eternity” Services for Tim will be held Sunday, December 29, 2019 with a viewing from 6-8:00 pm, at the LDS chapel, 5735 Crestwood Drive South Ogden, UT. A viewing will also be held on Monday December 30, from 10-10:45 am with a funeral beginning at 11:00 am, also at the chapel on Crestwood Drive. Interment, West Weber Cemetery. Please send condolences to the family at serenicare.com

Patricia Pamela Nash - June 15, 1956 - December 16, 2019

Departed: 12/16/2019 (Ogden)
Obituary Preview: Patricia Pamela Cortes Nash was greeted by the loving arms of her mother after a year long battle with heart failure due to Amylodosis on December 16, 2019.
Born in Concepción, Chile on June 15, 1956, she was known as Pamela by family, Patty by friends. She immigrated to the United States with her parents, Mario and Alde Cortes and her eldest sibling Sonia.
Patty grew up in Connecticut and moved to Miami in her late teens.
She studied nursing at Miami Dade Community College and Robert Morgan Technical. As a registered nurse she worked in various settings: hospitals, home health, and private care as a loving compassionate nurse.
For nearly 10 years, Patty served her country in the Florida National Guard and Air Force Reserves.
She married in 1982 and had three children: Frank Anthony “Tony” (Rosemary) Nash, Melody Elyse Belnap, and Aaron Eddison “Eddie” Nash.
She was a devoted disciple of Jesus Christ who enjoyed serving in many callings for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She most enjoyed serving with the young women and was even known to take them to “string” the bishops home.
Like her mother, she was very crafty and enjoyed making jewelry, crocheting, and working with ceramics. She had a collection of precious stones and geodes. Pamela was also known for her love of color and the whimsical things of life; no neutral pallets for her. Tie-dye’s and rainbows were her favorites.
Pamela would look daily for her “postcards” from Heavenly Father, a flower, rainbow, or sunset. She taught of the beauty of God’s earthly creations to her family and friends. She truly found peace in nature.
In most recent years, her grandchildren brought joy and laughter. Although illness has taken her before she deserved, she touched many lives for good. We will truly miss her and we look forward to when we will all be reunited.
In addition to her children, Pamela is survived by her grandchildren: Abigail, Jeffrey, Shawn, Harmony, and Liam; and her sisters: Sonia Jansen, Cindy Tulowiecki, and Ingrid Bettridge.
