Obituary Preview: Cynthia W. Hall was born on January 12th, 1972, at Deaconess Hospital in Buffalo, New York to the parentage of Ms. Fannie Mae Hall and the late Authur Davis. Although Cynthia was biologically the only child of Ms. Fannie M. Hall she grew up with a host of cousins and friends that became her extended family.
She was educated at Bennett High School and graduated from Buffalo Traditional High School. She then furthered her education attending Erie Community College. After leaving New York Cynthia relocated to Dallas, Texas and soon to follow her footsteps the rest of the family joined her.
Cynthia was always a hard worker, and an entrepreneur. She owned her own music business, while also running an adult foster care service from her home. She so business and financially savvy Cynthia got her knack for numbers working for Marine Midland Bank as a teenager. Cynthia always was focused on success and was never afraid of trying something new/different whether it was fashion music, hairstyle or flipping houses she was never afraid to be her own creative, trendsetter.
Cynthia gave her life to Christ at a young age and was an active member of the Inspiring Body of Christ Church (IBOC) in Dallas, Texas.
Cynthia was unfortunately passed away too soon and was called home on April 21, 2022.

Gay Frazier - December 03, 1959 - April 13, 2022

Obituary Preview: Gay Nell Frazier-Wilson was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend. Gay passed away on April 13, 2022, at the age of 62, after a nearly 2 year battle with breast cancer. Throughout her battle, Gay was surrounded by loved ones who will now continue to keep her memories and legacy alive.
Gay was born to Matthew and Ernestine Ervin in Dallas, Texas on December 3, 1959. She graduated from Adamson High School class of 1978 and went on to have a successful career in banking for many years. In 1988 Gay became a mother and later went on to have two more children. After years apart, Gay reconnected with Leonard Wilson, and the two picked up where they left off, fell in love, and married in July of 2018.
Gay was a devoted and faithful woman of God. She enjoyed gospel music and studying the word of God. She was also an excellent cook who loved to prepare meals for family and friends. Gay typically spent her weekends shopping, as she was always looking for a good deal. Gay was known as a mom to many and accepted anyone in need of a home and mother figure.
Gay is survived by her husband, Leonard Wilson, as well as her children, Jonathan Smith (India Smith), Miah Smith, Aleisha Frazier, and Kanessa Wilson-Mack, Grandchildren, Jonathan Smith Jr. and Jordyn Smith, Brothers Michael Ervin, and Matthew Ervin Jr., as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Gay is preceded in death by her parents, Matthew and Ernestine Ervin, Siblings Ricky Rogers, Dennis Rogers and Anita Ervin.
If Gay were still here today, she would want all of those she left behind to celebrate her life and find joy/comfort in the fact that she is in the arms of our Father and a place with no pain or misery. Gay will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who know her.

Lamont loved to cook. He was a hard worker, provider, and a great father who made sure his children never went without. He loved his family and would look forward to the family reunions every year. He attended church before his sickness occurred. He accepted Christ as his personal Savior and had a personal relationship with God.

Betty Mauldin - May 29, 1928 - March 31, 2022

Obituary Preview: Betty Jo Mauldin was born on May 29th, 1928, in Winona, Texas to Milton Dixon and Zearlean Butler. She was one of four children who all proceeded her in death. She graduated from Emmett Scott High School. She also completed her certification from the famed Madam CJ Walker Beauty Academy in 1949 and her nursing certification from E&K Vocational Nursing Program in May 1977.
Betty Jo was an entrepreneur at heart. She owned and operated Magnificent Afro Salon in Dallas, Texas from 1949-1996. Betty Jo was the first cosmetologist to do hair relaxer in which she also created, manufactured, and distributed her own glycerin hairspray.
Betty Jo styled many of the Dallas Cowboys players hair such as Ed “To Tall” Jones, Thomas Hollywood Henderson, Preston Pearson, and Actor DJ Steven Ladd. In 1981, she opened Magnificent Arcade in Dallas, Texas in which she later passed down to her daughter Virginia who moved to Chicago to pursue her career. Betty Jo did not stop there. In 1985, she opened Betty’s Chili Bowl and served the arguably best chili in Dallas, Texas until 1996. Betty owned her own line of elegant gift baskets that every Dallasite desired. Despite her many entrepreneurial ventures, she still found time to work at Texas Instruments, Braniff International Airways and believe it or not she was a Licensed Clowner. Her home is adorned with many trophies, plaques, awards, jackets, and certificates from being an award-winning Bid Whisk and Domino player.
Betty Jo was married to Napoleon Norman and to that union her son Napoleon LaNardo Norman Jr. was born who preceded her in death. She then later married James Earl Mauldin and from that 25-year union her daughter Virginia Kaye Mauldin was born.
She leaves to cherish her extraordinary memory, her devoted daughter Virginia Kaye Mauldin Phillips Edloe, her grandchildren Brandon Earl Phillips, Mikell Jowan Phillips, Reggia Kaye Edloe, and Monica Ann Keaton and a host of great grandchildren, relatives, and friends.

Weldon McCollums - June 09, 1924 - March 30, 2022

Obituary Preview: Weldon McCollums was born to Joe B and Savannah Isabel (Tate) McCollums in Van Alstyne, Texas on June 24, 1924. He was the fifth child and third son of the six children born to this union.
Weldon was baptized into the body of Christ at an early age and united with the Ninth Street Church of Christ in Dallas and remained a faithful member of the Cedar Crest Church of Christ until his death.
After his high school graduation, he began his military duty with his enlistment in the United States Army during World War II where he served his country well. His basic training was at Ft McClellan, Alabama and he was transferred to the European Theater/Italy in July 1944. After being injured in a military medic unit convoy accident, he was treated and reassigned to McCloskey General Hospital in Temple, Texas for rehabilitation and discharged in February 1946.
He used provisions from the GI Bill to go to tailoring school. His sewing techniques led him to create a self-employed business doing upholstery work and refurbishing antique furniture.
In 1950, he was employed by Southwestern Bell and worked there until 1955. From 1955, the United States Postal Service became his employment resource until his retirement in 1987. His cool, calm, and professional demeanor created a career path for him to become a manager for the postal clerks in multiple government offices after dealing with the public for years.
Weldon departed this earthly life on March 30, 2022. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jimmie Lee; Parents Joe B and Savannah Isabel McCollums, brothers O.J. Sr, Royce, and Joe; sisters Zelma Carter and Loyce Teal.
His legacy is cherished by: Daughter, Vicki McCollums Edwards (Phillip Howard, III); nieces, Annie Louise McCoy (Oakland, CA), Carrie Johnson (Joe) (Silver Springs, MD), Francis Johnson (Lakewood, CA), Rita Deverell (Ontario, Canada) and great nephews Artie McCoy (Hazel) (San Jose, CA), Carl McCoy (Abilene, TX) and a host of other family members and friends.

Garth Wyke - October 22, 1949 - March 30, 2022

Obituary Preview: Despite limited male leadership in his life, Garth accomplished the great task of becoming an honorable man whose legacy will forever touch those in his life. A dad, husband, and brother, yes. But also, a loyal friend, an advocate, a surrogate father and more. Most importantly, he did it all with an incredible passion for everyone he met.
He retired from American Airlines after working there for numerous years.
He is preceded in death by his mother Lauris DeFreitas; step-father Joseph DeFreitas, and his father George Wyke.
Garth is survived by his wife and best friend of 48 years, Ann Marie; his children Aqiyl Wyke and Aisha Calhoun; his grandchildren, Akhi Wyke, Jada Calhoun, Ayla Wyke, and Jacob Calhoun, and his sister Cheryl Owens.
While he could have taken care of his own and lived an acceptable life, he chose to look out for others and live an exceptional one instead. Whether it was providing a safe space for the neighborhood boys or driving across town to help a family member or simply cracking a joke before leaving a room, his goal was to help.  And in doing so, he influenced so many to do the same.  He will never know, but we do and must carry on accordingly. Obituary Preview: Hollie Nell Gee was born December 31, 1938, to Frank Gee Sr. and Louise Gee in Blooming Grove, Texas. To this union three children were born Nell being the eldest.
She was a faithful member of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor L.R. Davis for 18 years were she once served as the Choir President. She later moved her membership to Independent Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor M.L. Gee were she once served as President of the 20/20 vision ministry and sang in the choir, until her health started to decline. Two of her favorite songs “Going Up Yonder” and “Amazing Grace”.
She transitioned from time to eternity on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at age 83 surrounded by loved ones. Hollie was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Sr. and Louise Gee. Siblings; Irene Cofer, Cleveland George, Mary George, Amilean Nelson, Marine Whittley, Clarence George Jr., and Albert Gee. Three nieces; Gwendolyn Anderson, Bonnie Whittley, and Ida Gee. Three Nephews; Morris George, Odis Gee, & George Napper.
She leaves to cherish precious memories and her family, children: Vernita Patterson (Mitchum Sr.), Cassandra Gee, Revonza Gee, Michael Gee, Tony Gee, and Natosha Gee; grandchildren: Shenique Gee, LaShundra Gee, Myosha Patterson, Donnell Gee, Mitchum Patterson II (Sherry), Devon Gee (Joyce), Darron Harris (Sherona), Dominic Gee, Keiana Gee, Hollie Gee, and Kevon Gee; great grandchildren: Destiny Ford, Diamond Ford, DaZion Ford, Mitchum Patterson III, Vadarius Patterson, Jayce Foster, O’Ryan Wallace, Donnell Gee Jr., Devon Gee, Da’Mya Gee, O’Mariyon Wallace, Jurnie Donnell, Kylie Crutcher, Davon Gee, Harper Gee, and Kessih Gee; great-great grandchild: Ashunti Chism; one brother: Frank Gee Jr. (Diana), along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and relatives.

The sunlight rose in the life of Taniqua Aliece Jenkins, on the 17th day of February in the year of 1990 in Dallas, Texas to the parentage of Terry and Tunya Jenkins. Taniqua was affectionately known as “NeNe” by her family and friends.
Taniqua started her educational endeavors in the Dallas Independent School District, attending San Jacinto Elementary School, John B. Hood Junior High School, and was a Class of 2008 graduate of Lincoln High School. She later furthered her education and received an associate degree in Criminal Justice from Remington College.
She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at her family’s home church, Grand Central Missionary Baptist Church in Sunny South Dallas under the leadership of Reverend James T. Hill and later Pastor David C. Ward. There she was part of youth choir and mime ministry. Years later, she relocated her membership to Mt. Rose Church under the leadership of Bishop Jeffery D. Thomas, Sr. She loved her church and hearing her pastor preach and sing her favorite song, “How Much Do I Owe”.
Taniqua was currently employed with Allied Universal, as a supervisor.
She was an avid reader, who loved shopping, and watching movies, but her greatest joy was spending time and loving on her two daughters, Lauren, and Kennedy.
The sun set in the life of Taniqua on the 28th day of March in the year of 2022 in Balch Springs, Texas, many lives will never be the same. Those who welcomed her with open arms in Heaven are her maternal grandparents, R.T. & Brenda Sanders, and her cousin, Larry Sanders.
Those who are left to cherish her loving memories are her adoring two daughters: Lauren Graves and Kennedy Parker; Godson, Roland Jernigan, Jr.; mother: Tunya Jenkins “Pickles”; father: Terry Jenkins; brother, Terrian “Tron” Jenkins (Jazmine); twin sister, Tashara Jenkins (Allen); niece: Roxie Lee; nephews: Jordan Jenkins, Robert Jenkins and Rallen Lee; paternal grandmother: Margaret Robertson; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends that loved her dearly.

Mrs. Adell Pollard was born Sept. 7, 1930 in Fouls, LA. She attended Grambling State University in Grambling, LA., she moved to Flint and began a teaching career with the Michigan Public School System. She retired after teaching elementary school for 44 years. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church until she moved to Cedar Hill, Texas to be close to her son in 2017. Ronson Allgood - February 28, 1990 - March 18, 2022

Obituary Preview: On February 28, 1990, in Glendale, California, the union of Ronald Allgood and Djerdre Bates-Allgood was Blessed with their youngest child, a son, Ronson Jamal Leon Allgood. From 1990 until 2003, Ronson was raised and educated in Los Angeles, California. The family relocated to Burlington, Iowa in 2003 where he attended Oak Street Middle School. In 2004, the family moved to Moline, Illinois, and in 2008 He graduated from Moline High School. In 2017, Ronson continued his studies at Chamberlain University College of Nursing where he was on target to receive his Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) this year. Upon completion of his clinicals, Ronson was headed to medical school to obtain his Doctorate Degree in Nuclear Medicine.
Ronson professed hope in Christ at an early age, and was Baptized when he was eleven years old by Pastor Terrence Phillips at Prosperity Missionary Baptist Church of Los Angeles, California.
In 2014, Ronson met Miss Marjani Parker. Their relationship blossomed and was Blessed with one daughter, Nailah Lelani Allgood.
During his career, Ronson worked for Fresenius Medical Care North America as a Kidney Dialysis Technician (PCT) and for U.S. Renal Care where he was promoted from a Kidney Dialysis Technician to Bio Med Engineer. To Ronson, his passion to help others and his ability to calm people in the “middle of a storm” was a gift. Ronson provided compassionate, professional, and personal care to each of his patients and was greatly rewarded by their appreciation for all that he did. Ronson’s newest endeavor was as CEO of Herbs & Berries, LLC.; a line of all-natural body and hair care products.
Nothing was more important to Ronson than his family and his pride & joy was his daughter, Nailah. He was a phenomenal “Daddy”, as she always called him and there were no limitations for his expressions of love for his baby girl.
Ronson had a very special relationship with all of his nieces and nephews.  He was “Uncle Ronnie “or “Uncle Turnup” to all of them. He always put so much energy into seeing after and playing with them.
Ronson had an infectious laugh and smile.  He was outgoing, free spirited, a true friend, and no matter the occasion you knew it would be an “Allgood” time in his presence.
Ronnie enjoyed reading books and educating himself on black history, spiritual awareness, and holistic medicine. He favorite dish to cook was spaghetti with Italian sausage and his newfound  love was making chicken in the air fryer. He loved karaoke and any opportunity to hang out with family and friends. He was an avid Laker fan, loved college football, writing and engineering songs and ol’ skol music.
Ronson leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved mother Djerdre Allgood of Lewisville, TX; daughter Nailah Allgood of Maywood, IL; brother Ronald (Terra) Allgood of Pittsburgh, PA; brother Brian Chance of Erie, PA; brother Charles Allgood of Akron, OH; sister Jasmine (Omar) Ward of Arlington, TX; sister Candice (Lawrence) Manson II of Des Moines, IA; Godmother, Jojuana McKnight of Los Angeles, CA; special Auntie Sherrie Phillips of Los Angeles, CA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Obituary Preview: Eddie Moreland Sr. was born and raised to the late Albert Moreland Jr. and Mamie Miller on March 4, 1936, in Beaumont, Texas. Post his parents’ divorce he was raised by his paternal grandparents Albert Moreland, Sr., and Australia Moreland.
Eddie accepted Christ at an early age at Macedonia Baptist Church. He attended Charlton Pollard High School, where he met his high school sweetheart Dora M. Harris. (They dated all through high school) He graduated in 1954 and went straight into the United States Air Force. He came back and married Dora M. Harris July 22, 1955. To this union Leslie M. Moreland and Eddie Moreland Jr. were born. Eddie was in the United States Air Force from 1954 to Sept 1975 they traveled the world, France, Germany, Japan to name a few. He worked at AT&T in 1977 which later brought him to DFW in 1986. He later retired in 1994. Eddie became a Cedar Hill Charter Bus Driver from 1994, retired in 2011.
Eddie was an avid sports fan, his favorite teams were Cowboys, Spurs and La Dodgers. Spending time with his grandchildren is what he cherished the most. Working with his oldest grandson Charles and teaching him the ins and outs of life to become the man he is today. Other examples of Eddie cherishing moments with grandkids, he taught them respect and sportsmanship while playing baseball and basketball. Also showing patience while teaching them morals and standards in life.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents Albert Moreland Jr., Mamie Miller Blackwell, and wife, Dora M Moreland.
On March 14, 2022, Eddie transitioned to his heavenly home, earning his eternal wings. Eddie leaves behind to cherish his memories with his beloved children Leslie M. Moreland and Eddie Moreland Jr.; brother, Albert Moreland, III of Atlanta, Georgia; sisters, Barbara Moreland and Yolanda Moreland-Forrest of Dallas, sister-in-law, Jenny Lewis (Supt. Roy), and Gwendolyn Antoine (Reverend Joe) both of Beaumont, Texas; six grandchildren, Charles Moreland, Anthony Moreland, Chantal Moreland, Benjamin Moreland (Micah), Caitlin Wilkerson-Moreland, and Alexis Moreland; one great grandchild, Ezekiel; one Goddaughter, Mamie D. Dacanay; best friends, John T. Strothers and John Stephans, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
