The family would like to give a special thank you to Southern Care Hospice, especially Lynne & Julie for their love and care.
Tammy is survived by her son Jason Stover: daughter-in-law Becky Stover and granddaughter Mackenzie Sexton, special friend Danny Hilton as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Tammy was preceded in death by her parents listed above and son Christopher Sexton.

David Ruckel - October 03, 1946 - May 16, 2024

Obituary Preview: David Ruckel, longtime resident of Kennard, passed away unexpectedly in his home on May 16, 2024. David was generous with his time and helping others. Gardening, plant propagation, and storage methods were passions, ideas which were liberally shared with family and friends. He always enjoyed springtime discovering what plants and flowers had survived the winter, then adjusting techniques for the next growing season. Peonies and Iris flowers were some of his favorites. David the survivalist, said that you don’t just prepare for your own survival, but have enough for the community. He cared for people and supported the Second Harvest Food Bank in Muncie, IN.
Beyond survivalist topics, David enjoyed taking things apart. At an early age he took apart an antique victrola and that was before he learned to put things back together. Later computers were his specialty, recycling and reassembling the parts to create a usable computer for anyone in need.
David was also an avid, lifelong reader with tastes ranging from science, science fiction to world history. When his teenage sisters were listening to rock and roll growing up, David developed a love of classical music. David was preceded in death by his parents, Rowen and Norma Wilson Ruckel. The oldest of four siblings,
David is survived by sisters Barbara (Jeffrey) Frame, Nancy Fleming, Sherry (David) Patton, nephews Eric (Susanna, h) Fleming, Timothy (Kimberlee) Fleming, Jacob (Stephanie) Patton, and Kyle Patton, and several grand nephews and nieces and multiple cousins. David was a good man and will be greatly missed.
A memorial will be set for a future date.

Dustin was a lively person and lived life to its fullest. He was an avid collector of everything, and threw nothing away, but collecting knives was a passion. In his spare time playing Call of Duty with his dad was something he enjoyed very much.
Dustin is survived by his wife; Heather Edwards: son; Connor Edwards: step-sons; Michael Wilson & Dustin Ellis: brother; Matt Edwards: his father listed above and grandmother Peggy Edwards, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family survive.
He was preceded in death by his mother listed above and sister Elizabeth Burke.

Michale was an outdoorsman and loved to fish. He was a member of the Local Moose Lodge and Eagles in North Vernon, Indiana. It was not uncommon to see Michael playing bingo or enjoying time at the casino. More than anything his time with his family is what he cherished most.
Michael is survived by four siblings; Karen Lawson, Kathy (Jim) Campbell, John (Debra) Williams and Jack Williams as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews and many friends.
Michale was preceded in death by his parents listed above; his wife Tammy Williams and sister Carolyn Volz.
Visitation and service will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2024, with visiting hours 4:00-6:00pm with service following at 6:00pm with Pastor Paul Davis officiating. Burial will follow on Thursday May 16, 2024, at 11:00 am at Vernon Cemetery, 315 S. Pike St Vernon, IN 47282.

Obituary Preview: Lucille King-Caudle, 85, of Richmond, formerly of New Castle, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2024, at Reid Hospital in Richmond. She was born February 23, 1939, in Eglon, Kentucky to the late Robert & Gracie (Callahan) Brockman.
Lucille was a member of the Full Gospel Chapel in Richmond. She married the love of her life Lee Roy King and they enjoyed many years together before his passing. She was a very simple woman, whose heart was full when with her grandchildren and children. Whether it was teaching them to play frisbee with a butter bowl lid, or how to two-step dance or a good water gun fight, that was when her heart was at its fullest. If you could teach anyone anything, it would be that materialistic things do not matter.
She was an avid singer, however, she never wanted anyone to hear her. However, later in life she allowed God to give her boldness to sing during church service. Cooking was something she enjoyed and was amazing at, especially her chicken n dumplings and pan fried chicken.
Lucille is survived by her children; Vickie Ashcraft, Diana (Troy) Gill, Katie Wireman & Dennis Campbell: 18 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren: siblings; Wanda (Jay) Redd & Fletcher (Jean) Brockman as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents listed above: children Marsha Haggen & Debra Radcliffe and seven siblings.

Jared was a happy little boy and full of life. His face would light up while he was watching Toy Story and seeing his favorite character “Woody”. Jared was “daddy’s” boy and his sister, Amara was his best friend. He was a little flirt and would always “wink” and raise his eyebrows to girls. It was rare to find him without his trusty star wars blanket.

Obituary Preview: Belva (Oliver) Shaw, 90, of New Castle, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 23, 1934, in New Castle, Indiana to the late Courtney Oliver Sr & Uphama (Purvis) Oliver.
Belva married the love of her life, Max Shaw on November 20, 1949, and enjoyed nearly 65 years of marriage until his passing in 2015. She worked for GM in Anderson for over 30 plus years, retiring in 1983. She was an avid gardener and had an amazing green thumb. She enjoyed cake decorating and catering. Belva was a very artistic and talented person. From decorating, to quilting, she could do about anything. Not a day would pass without her doing her word search puzzles. Her passion for all of this was nothing compared to the love and joy she had for her family.
Belva is survived by her children; Marsha (Robert David) McDaniel & Brenda Shaw: grandchildren; Karen (James) Wilkinson, & Joey (Lori) McDaniel: great-grandchildren; Brian (Sara) Oldham, Kayla Wilkinson, Dylan Wilkinson, Brandon Wilkinson, Clay (Kierstyn) McDaniel & Cole McDaniel: great great grandchildren; Bentley, Kevin & Noah: siblings; Courtney Oliver Jr & Mary Craib as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family survive.

She enjoyed antiquing and gardening because she had an amazing green thumb and was a talented artistic home decorator. Her time with her son Gavin is what she cherished, especially watching crime shows on TV together.

Scott loved his “little family” as he called it. He was an avid musician, playing many different instruments and was also a song writer. He loved his “baby” Harley Davidson. He said riding was a time for him to pray and be at peace. Going to the gym at Forest Ridge and seeing friends were times he cherished. But his true passion was sharing what the Lord had done for him in his life.
Scott is survived by his children; Aaron & Clinton Nunley: his mother and step-dad; Carol (John) Groce: brother; Daniel Nunley: 2 aunts, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family survive.
He was preceded in death by his father Wayne and brother Raland “Rocky” Nunley.

Obituary Preview: Charles Madison, 91, of New Castle, passed away Friday, April 19, 2024, at his home peacefully while he slept. He was born February 18, 1933, in West Jefferson, North Carolina to the late William D. Madison & Hazel (Allen) Storey.
Charles was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corp. where he served during the Korean Conflict. He married the love of his life, Phyllis (Winchester) and enjoyed over 40 years of marriage until her passing in 2006. He was a member of the VFW and the UAW Local 371. Charles was an amazing carpenter and loved woodworking. Also, he personally built / remodled several homes throughout the years, including the log cabin he currently lived in. He enjoyed fishing and riding his lawn mower anywhere he wanted to go.
Charles is survived by his children; Wendy (Michael) Buck & Joda Guffey: grandchildren; Mandy Buck, Joshua & Anna Shelton: great-grandchildren; Madison, Greyson, Noah, Tyler, Reid and Owen as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family survive.

Tiny was a man’s man and lived life to its fullest. He was an antique collector, especially guns and clocks. His wife said, “he never threw anything away because you never knew when it would be worth something”. Playing cards, especially poker, was something you could usually find Tiny doing. Wherever you saw Tiny, you were sure to see his dog Baby until her passing. Being with his family and friends were the times he loved most.

Randy is survived by daughter Leslie Pinon of New Castle, brother Joe Bell, Jr., sisters: Tina (John Garcia) Martin, Debbie Daffron and Debbie (Bobby) Claborn, grandchildren Mason (Summer) Adams and Ethan Thompson, nieces Danielle Herndon, Kristi Ward and Stacy (DeWayne) Sterns, nephews Joey Martin, Dallas Reynolds and Jay Bell as well as several great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Dallas Asberry and mother Virginia Marie (Bratton) Troxell, nephews John Martin, Jr, Bobby Claborn and Andy Bell.
A funeral to celebrate Randy’s life will be held at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at Open Arms Church, 1618 Broad Street New Castle, IN 47362 with Pastor Paul Davis officiating.
Friends may call at the church from 5:00 pm until the time of service. Burial will take place at 1:00 pm on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at South Mound Cemetery, Westlawn Addition.

She was an avid reader in her younger years and recently enjoyed watching TV and going out to eat.
Doris is survived by her son; Kevin Akers: grandchildren; Allison (Eric) Burgeson & Melissa Miller: great-granddaughters; Ada & Amelia Burgeson: as well as several cousins, and extended family members.
Doris was proceeded in death by her parents listed above, and her daughter Deborah Miller. More than all of this, his time with his family was what he cherished most.
Left to cherish Jerry’s memory are his bonus children; Dalanda Straka & Linda Garland: grandchildren; Whitney Foster & Collin Parks: 5 siblings; Julia Lippold, Pam Martin, Edward “Dink” Short, Mona Belcher & Joe Belcher as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members survive.
