Obituary Preview: Emily Roberts Jensen, 98, passed away on May 25, 2018 in Logan, Utah. She was born June 20, 1919 in Logan, Utah to John J. and Catherine Petersen Roberts. She married M. Rex Jensen on June 6, 1939 in the Logan LDS Temple.

Emily graduated from Logan High School and attended the Collegiate School of Beauty for training and licensing in Cosmetology in California and Utah. She was active in many school organizations serving as PTA President in three schools. She also served as president of the Garland Ladies Self Culture Club as well as Captain of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.

Emily was an active member of the LDS church serving in many capacities, including Relief Society President, Primary President, MIA organist, and Ward Chorister. Emily, along with her husband Rex, were called to teach in the LDS Church Education System in Western Samoa from 1971-1973. They also served a full-time mission in the Micronesia Guam Mission from 1984- 1986. Emily wrote and directed musical programs with the youth and also for the Samoan and Gilbertese people.

Emily was preceded in death by her husband, father and mother, 7 brothers, one sister, one grandchild, and one son-in-law.

Surviving are her four children: DeAnn (Jim) Clark of Draper, Robert (Sharon) Jensen of Garland, Richard (Carol) Jensen of North Logan, Michael (Linda) Jensen of Shelley, Idaho; eighteen grandchildren; fifty great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 in the Garland 3rd Ward LDS Chapel (175 S. Main, Garland). A viewing will be held at the church prior to the funeral service from 11-12:30 p.m. Interment in the Garland Cemetery.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Terrace Grove and Hospice for the loving care that they showed to Emily.

Obituary Preview: Karen Ross, 69, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2015 at the Bear River Care Center in Tremonton, UT. She was born on August 8, 1945 in Brigham City, UT to Lee & Melba Hansen.  She married her sweetheart William “Bill” Ross on August 4, 1965 and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on September 12, 1994.

Karen attended and graduated from Bear River High School in 1963. She lived in many places throughout her life including Colorado Croydon, UT, Morgan, UT and Plymouth, UT. During her life she worked as a homemaker and also as a Health Caregiver. Her love and passion in life were horses, dogs and cats.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Karen is survived by her husband William “Bill” Ross; Brother, A.L. (Elona) Hansen; Brother-in-law, Richard Winberg and many nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sister Myrna Winberg and three nephews.

There will be a graveside service on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at the Deweyville Cemetery at 2:00 pm.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Donny & Barbara Vanderhoof and Bill & Rebecca Bronson for the loving care & support that they have shown to Karen throughout the years.
