He preceded her in death on November 30, 2016. To this union were three daughters: Staci, Dotti, and Mica. Brenda enjoyed life to the fullest and being a great mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She enjoyed gardening, canning, television, and being outside. Survivors include three daughters, Staci LaRae Ratzlaff and her companion, Jimmy Maciel, Elkhart, KS.; Dotti G. Ratzlaff and her husband, Zane Watson, Austin, TX., Mica Don Ratzlaff and her companion, AJ McKinley, Afton, WY.; two brothers, Kenton Fisher and his companion, Tom Dangora, Saugus, MA., Garold Fisher and his companion, Melissa Allison, Elkhart, KS.; one sister, Rhonda Rich, Elkhart, KS.; granddaughter, Savvi LaRae Maciel, Elkhart, KS.; two sister-in-law’s, Amy K. Maukuku Apelu, 66, of Rolla passed away December 10, 2021, Northwest Medical Center, Tucson, Arizona. He was born July 17, 1955, in Funafuti, Tuvalu. The son of Teagai and Lumepa (Lutelu) Apelu.
His hobbies included fishing, coin collecting, and truck driving. When his kids were little, he enjoyed taking them to the Astro baseball games.

Eunice Marie Zook - October 24, 1921 - December 06, 2021

Obituary Preview: Eunice Marie (Kreider) Zook was born on October 24, 1921, at Shannon, Illinois, the daughter of David and Cora (Rodermel) Kreider. She went to be with her Savoir at Liberal, Kansas, on December 6, 2021.
After finishing high school in Shannon, Eunice furthered her education in University Park, Iowa, where she earned her B.A. degree in Kletzing College. She then taught high school in Coggon, Iowa, for two years.
On June 21, 1945, Eunice was married at University Park to Tech/Sergeant Max Zook from Newton, Kansas. Until the end of World War two, they lived in Salinas, California, where Max was stationed at the U.S. Army/Air Force base.
In 1948 Max became manager of the Kletzing College dairy farm in Oskaloosa, Iowa. He and Eunice were the parents of Eldon Zook (wife Christine), University Park, Iowa, and Ruth Fowler (husband Eddie), Elkhart, Kansas.
Eunice is survived by her two children; four grandchildren: Suzanne Zook, John Zook (wife Renee), David Fowler, and Jolaine Parks (husband Russell); two step-granddaughters: Dawn Chapman and Amanda Standish; five great-grandchildren, and six step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers, an infant sister, a daughter-in-law (Becky Zook), and a step great-granddaughter.
Eunice was an active member of the Oskaloosa, Iowa, Church of the Nazarene. Since 2014 she has been living in the home of her daughter in Elkhart, Kansas where she attended and enjoyed fellowship at the Elkhart Church of the Nazarene.
A memorial has been established for Nazarene Compassionate Ministries. In the care of Robson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 606, or Church of the Nazarene, P.O. Box 240, Elkhart, Kansas 67950.
Graveside and committal will be held at a later date in University Park, Iowa.

She married Gary Lynn Ellis on February 2, 1979, in Rawlins, Wyoming. To this union were two loved and precious children: Robert Lynn and Shanda Marie.
Phyllis enjoyed her dogs and listening to audiobooks. She liked getting coffee and going to bingo with the girls. She enjoyed arts and crafts. All of that completed her heart until eight grandchildren came along; they then became her world. She wanted anything to do with the grandkids.
Survivors include loving husband, Gary Ellis, of the home; son, Robert Ellis and wife Sheena, Elkhart, KS.; daughter, Shanda Ellis, Elkhart, KS.; brothers, Tom Skidgel and wife Barbara, Rawlins, WY., Terry Skidgel, Clarksville, AR.; sister, Leesa Skidgel, Clarksville, AR.; seven grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

She and William Edward “Bill” Wait were married November 16, 2007, in Springfield, Colorado. They enjoyed being together and doing all things together.
Terri was a lover and a giver. Each senior who gave her a graduation invitation got a handmade afghan. She enjoyed crocheting and watching Elkhart Wildcat sports. She loved cheering on the kids in the different sports events.
She is survived by loving husband, William “Bill” Wait, Elkhart, KS.; parents, Charlie and Carol Colopy, Montrose, CO.; two step- sons, Keith and Eric Wait, both of Amarillo, TX.; numerous other family and friends.

Bonnie was born on January 23, 1927, in Fairvalley, Oklahoma to James Monroe Russell and Amanda Jane (Littrell) Russell. She married Nelson Wayne Dutton, both from Freedom, Oklahoma, on May 10, 1946, in Grand Junction, Colorado.
Bonnie was a schoolteacher for a small schoolhouse while Nelson served in the military. She was also a dental assistant in Winfield and went on to help her son and daughter in-law (David and Perlita Dutton) open and run their dental practice in Elkhart, KS in 1982. Bonnie and Nelson moved to Great Bend, KS in 1990 where she worked with and mentored troubled youth. Following Nelson’s death in 1990, she moved to Winfield, KS in 1998 after marrying John Glasgow who passed away in 2002. She moved from Winfield to Illinois in December 2012.
Bonnie is survived by her son and his spouse, Kevin (Jenifer) Dutton of Peoria, IL; six grandchildren, Jason Wallace of Olathe, KS, Laura Hague of Overland Park, KS, Matthew Dutton of Tremont, IL, Amanda Dutton of Tremont, IL, Donnie Dutton of Corpus Christi, TX, David Dutton of Winfield, KS; and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, five sisters, two sons (David and Mark), one daughter (Sue), and one granddaughter Faith (Dutton) Wells.

Obituary Preview: Joseph “Joe” Wayde Whisennand, 17, passed away Monday, September 6, 2021, in Elkhart, Kansas. He was born June 22, 2004, in Texas County Hospital, Guymon Oklahoma to Todd Whisennand and Addie (Wray) Whisennand.
Joe was an Elkhart High School Wildcat Senior, class of 2022. Joe was an avid sports player, especially baseball. He had an extensive work ethic, and he thoroughly enjoyed farming and being on the tractor. In his free time, Joe liked hunting, welding, and anything Donald Trump. He was also a talented artist.
As an avid sports player, he had many accomplishments. He was on the Regional High School Championship football team in 2018 and the baseball State Championship in 2019. He was also awarded 1st Team All-League in baseball in 2021. In the recent months, he began to show interest in powerlifting. He competed at the 1-2A State Powerlifting in Conway Springs, Kansas where he placed 2nd in bench press, 3rd in squat, and was the State Champion in Cleans and Reserve State Champion Overall.
He is survived by his father, Todd Whisennand and significant other Jonetta Jennings, Elkhart, KS.; mother, Addie Whisennand, Amarillo, TX.; three brothers, Cord Whisennand and wife Shelby, Canyon, TX., Lane Whisennand and significant other Dalli Simmons, Lawton, OK., Koyal Whisennand, Elkhart, KS.; sister, Paisley Rigo, Amarillo, TX.; grandmother, Alicia Wray, Richfield, KS.; great grandmother, Twylah Fisher, Elkhart, KS.; aunts, Amanda Wray, Elkhart, KS., Shalee Higgins and husband Chris, Elkhart, KS., Amity Wray, Manhattan, KS., Cathy Moore and husband Robert, Houston, TX., DeeDee Abbott and husband Neil, Leander, TX.; niece, Cortlyn Whisennand, Canyon, TX.; and many other relatives and friends.

Dorinda was loved by all that knew her, she had a kind and loving heart. She attended church at Hillcrest Baptist and Church at Jake’s Barn. She loved her grandchildren very much and loved spending time with them.
Survivors include daughter, Kayla Espinoza and husband Mark, Elkhart, KS.; two grandchildren, Alex and Ally Kaye Espinoza, Elkhart, KS.; and many other relatives and friends.

He was born to Lloyd Raymond and Virginia Ann (Higel) Koonce on May 17, 1962, Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Eddy married Robin Dawn Fox on August 25, 1984 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. To this union are two children; Dawnee and Ty.
He attended New Mexico State University where he enjoyed rodeoing. He got his Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture Extension and Education. He was a farm consultant for Helena Chemical, ran the breeding facilities for Dekalb Swine, and became the 6th person hired in Kansas for Seaboard Farms. In 1996 they moved to Morton County where they found their dream home on the National Grasslands.
Eddy was employed at Elkhart High School as the Ag Teacher and FFA advisor for 20 years. He treasured being around the kids and enjoyed teaching them anything to do with livestock and welding. During these years he coached football, wrestling, golf, and numerous state qualifying horse and livestock judging teams. He was especially proud of his ag kids and their accomplishments. He also enjoyed giving back to the community by teaching his welders how to fabricate and build trailers for community members.
He loved Christmas, Bible Study, Frosty the Snowman, his cows, Mexican food, the Chiefs, the Razorbacks, his students, and his family.
Survivors include loving wife, Robin Koonce, Elkhart, KS.; daughter, Dawnee Rae Raskin and husband, Jeremy, Hudson, CO.; son, Ty Koonce and wife Carrie Jo, Pampa, TX.; grandchild, Colt Raskin, Hudson, CO.; father, Lloyd Koonce and wife Patty, Albuquerque, NM.; sister, Kelly Koonce, Albuquerque, NM.; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Dietz.

Visitation will be held Sunday, March 28, 2021, 2 PM to 6 PM and Monday, March 29, 2021, 10 AM to 8 PM at Robson Funeral Home, Elkhart.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, March 30, 2021, 2 PM, Morton County Civic Center, Elkhart, Kansas with Pastor Jess Lee presiding. Burial to follow at Elkhart Cemetery. He married Vivian Joyce Pate June 4, 1958, in Elkhart. Vivian preceded him in death on July 11, 2012. To this union were three children: Dennis, Dale, and David.
His hobbies included anything to do with ranching, farming, or rodeos. Jim enjoyed cattle trading and going to cattle sales. When his children were younger, he and wife Vivian Joyce enjoyed hauling the boys to rodeos. In the last couple of years, he enjoyed spending time with girlfriend Joyce and dancing on the weekends.
Survivors include, three sons, Dennis James Sagebiel and wife Susan, Glendale, AZ., William Dale Sagebiel, Peoria, AZ, David Wayne Sagebiel, Elkhart, KS.; significant other, Joyce Hallagin, Elkhart, KS.; two sisters, Alice Witcher, Santa Fe, NM., Barbara Pate, Elkhart, KS.; nine grandchildren, Kayci, Kaitlyn, Jessica, Stephanie, T'nette, Nikki, Katy, Victoria, and Sarah; several other relatives and friends.
